Summary: Jing Yuan, March 7th, Dan Heng, and You gather for a lighthearted game of chess aboard the Astral Express. It was a peaceful afternoon on the Astral Express, the gentle hum of the train providing a calm backdrop to an unexpected gathering in the lounge. You, March, Dan Heng, and Jing Yuan had gathered around a small table, set up for an intense yet playful game of chess.

March was as lively as ever, practically bouncing in her seat with excitement. Her fingers drummed against the edge of the table, eager for the game to begin. "I’m going to win this time, I just know it! No more losing to you guys!" she declared, looking at you with wide, determined eyes.

Jing Yuan sat with a serene smile, his eyes glinting as he surveyed the board. "Is that so? We’ll see," he mused, his voice as calm as always. Despite his lazy demeanor, he had a sharp mind for strategy—and chess was no exception.

Dan Heng sat across from you, his eyes flickering between the pieces. He wasn't exactly thrilled by the idea of playing chess in the first place, but his sense of duty meant he couldn't refuse when everyone else seemed so eager. He adjusted his glasses, glancing over the pieces, clearly trying to maintain his focus.

You shuffled the pieces and set up the board, the quiet atmosphere only broken by March’s occasional giggles and Jing Yuan's soft chuckles. As the game began, it was clear who was the strategist here. Jing Yuan and March exchanged subtle glances, their teamwork already becoming apparent to you, though not to Dan Heng.

With a move, Jing Yuan casually shifted a knight, and in the blink of an eye, March's hand shot out to snatch the piece from the board. Without missing a beat, she popped it into her mouth, chewing with a mischievous grin. You stifled a laugh, trying to hide your amusement, but Dan Heng never looked up from the board, completely unaware of the sneak attack unfolding right under his nose.

Jing Yuan’s eyes twinkled with mischief as he glanced at you. "I believe that's check," he said smoothly, his voice carrying a hint of amusement as he moved his queen into place.

March, still chewing her stolen knight, gave him a thumbs-up before quickly wiping her mouth. "Thanks for the assist, Jing Yuan!" she whispered, her eyes bright with excitement.

Dan Heng, oblivious to the trickery, focused intently on the game. "Don’t get too cocky," he muttered, moving his bishop with precision. "I’m not going down that easily."

March leaned over to you, her face lighting up with a mischievous grin. "He never looks away, does he? We have to be fast!"

You couldn’t help but giggle, feeling the thrill of the game. "Alright, let's do it."

The next few moves passed in a flurry of calculated plays. As Dan Heng moved his pieces, his eyes never strayed far from the board, focused and sharp. However, it wasn’t enough to stop the pair of conspirators. Jing Yuan shifted his rook, and within seconds, March had seized another piece—this time, a pawn. With a wink, she popped it into her mouth, making sure to savor the moment.

"You two are ruthless," you said, grinning. "Dan Heng doesn’t even know what’s happening!"

Dan Heng, unaware of the growing pile of pieces that had mysteriously vanished, made another move. "I have you now," he muttered, unaware of the impending checkmate.

Jing Yuan glanced at March, who was now gleefully enjoying her stolen pieces. He smirked before making his final move, placing his queen on the board. "Checkmate," he declared, his voice low and satisfied.

Dan Heng blinked in surprise, finally looking up at the board. "Wait... How did—" His gaze shifted to the empty spots where his pieces used to be. A look of realization dawned on his face as he met March’s wide, innocent eyes. "You—"

March grinned sheepishly, wiping a small crumb from her lips. "Uh… I think I might’ve eaten a few of your pieces. Oops?"

Dan Heng let out a deep sigh, a mix of disbelief and resignation. "You two... were teaming up this whole time, weren’t you?"

Jing Yuan chuckled softly, his calm demeanor unchanged. "It was a fair strategy, Dan Heng. Sometimes, it's not just about the pieces you play... but the ones you don’t."

You couldn’t help but laugh at the scene before you, the playful rivalry and the easy camaraderie between all of you. Despite the underhanded tactics, there was no animosity—just the warmth of being together, sharing this lighthearted moment.

Dan Heng sighed again but couldn't hide the faint smile tugging at his lips. "You all are impossible," he muttered, but the hint of amusement in his voice was enough to show he didn’t mind too much.

Jing Yuan leaned back, stretching slightly and surveying the group with a contented smile. "Another victory for the team," he said, as if the game had been won by sheer strategy alone.

March raised her hand, eager to declare her own triumph. "Yep! We make a great team!" She gave you a wink and a playful thumbs-up, signaling her satisfaction.

As the laughter died down, you felt a sense of contentment wash over you. It wasn't just the victory that mattered—it was the way you all made memories together, one mischievous move at a time.

the fact that people still use the "no one would talk to a friend that way" "no one would grieve for someone like that if it was just platonic" etc arguments to prove a ship is canon is so annoying to me. yes i get it, we got queerbaited hard but where does it say that romance has to be higher than a friendship or no one said friends couldn't also be lovers or vice versa....? i normally say "popular media tropes that usually are for romance" when i talk about fiction but pulling a blanket statement like "NO ONE talks to a friend that way" is so invalidating to so much of our queer experiences. the beauty of queer friendship literally lies in the emotional fulfilment we get from our friends in a way that i don't normally see in cishet friendships for whatever reasons. so idk it's just been bothering me to see these kinds of posts every now and then. "you wouldn't do [x] for your friends" i would actually. i would sell my soul for them. i would kill for them and kill myself for them. i would do anything for my friends that i would do for a partner. the "proof" for a ship doesn't have to be by invalidating their friendship. also like aren't most of the ships so powerful when they're also each other's closest friends? do y'all not think of your partners as your best friends?

Alenoah World Tour story idea

Same idea as any other World Tour Alenoah AU but Alejandro’s flirting and charm actually doesn’t work on Noah. Not “Noah pretends like it’s doesn’t effect him,” but genuinely “Noah is not effected.”

It drives Alejandro crazy. No one has ever been able to resist his charms! Not even Heather, no matter how much she denies it. It’s even worse because Noah is gay so it’s not the issue of sexuality, and even then, sexuality was never really an issue. So why did his charm not work on him???

It turns from Alejandro trying to manipulate Noah to Alejandro becoming obsessed with Noah. Every chance he gets, he flirts with him, trying to get a reaction. And every time, he gets shot down. Some of the other contestants are jealous that Noah is getting so much attention from Alejandro and he doesn’t care, while others find it absolutely hilarious and use it to make Alejandro jealous/get on his nerves. (It works every time)

To make matters worse, Noah seems to enjoy the attention from no one but Owen. So it drives Alejandro’s hatred for Owen even further.

I’m the end, it turns out that Noah does like Alejandro. He feels like he can be honest with Alejandro and doesn’t need to sugarcoat or keep quiet about his actual thoughts. But he knew that Alejandro flirted with people to manipulate them so he just chose not to react to it or to shoot him down until he was sure that Alejandro actually meant what he said (if he ever did which he reeeaaally does).

I think the HeiShin dynamic is great but imaging a love confession between them is nigh impossible because Shinichi wouldn’t confess without great provocation and heiji would be in denial for his feelings or actively forget to confess

Alenoah Week 2024: Day 3 - "TDWT Ending Rewrite"

The trek to the top of the volcano was, in layman's terms, agonizing.

Searing heat, somehow simultaneously swelteringly humid and suffocatingly dry, blistered at every inch of Noah's exposed skin and burned through his lungs like hot coals with every laboured breath. The sweat that would've been dripping from his exhausted body like a faulty faucet didn't even have the opportunity to form into pearl-shaped droplets before it evaporated against the overwhelming force of just how fucking hot it was.

And yet he'd made it.

He'd gotten there first, too.

Noah had somehow managed to out-slither the slippery fiend whilst the two were stumbling across the skipping stones of a lava lake, despite the weight of his pineapple dummy causing him to falter after almost every step.

The maw of the volcano bubbled and spat embers at his feet, just a few measly inches from the cynic himself. It was time to end it; the competition, the show, his… rivalry with Alejandro.

As if the mere thought of the Spaniard had somehow summoned him, Noah heard the tell-tale clicking of heeled boots against rock behind him quickly followed by harsh, laboured panting (not nearly as desperate as his own wheezing, but a far cry from the womanizer's usual composure). Alejandro's ponytailed hair rose from the plateaued peak of the volcano, followed by a pair of thick eyebrows furrowed against sweat-sheened skin, then a pair of furious sage green eyes- and sage was the most appropriate description Noah could think of, since they burned with a competitive fire comparable to the all-encompassing heat around them.

"It's over, Alejandro. I have the high ground."

Noah's voice was a hoarse, painful rasp, though whether it was from its unbearable dryness or the tenseness of the situation, he wasn't sure. He stood firmly at the edge of the volcano, searing light illuminating the edges of his form like a foreboding halo as he held Pinealejandro almost covetingly in a bridal carry, hovering the dummy over the scorching cavern of its imminent demise.

Alejandro- the human one, not the pineapple one- continued his unwavering ascent to the volcano's peak until he was but a few insignificant feet away from Noah. His shoulders visibly rose and fell with each huff of magma-scorched breath, and the barbaric snarl he bared towards the bookworm twisted his handsome features into something wild, alight with a passion that burned at white-hot as the lava below.

Then he roared.

"You underestimate my power!"

And lunged towards Noah, carelessly discarding his own pineapple dummy (comparatively twiggier and more feeble looking than Noah's own) as he cleared the space between them in the blink of a cinder-dusted eye.

"I will not lose to someone as infuriating as you!"

Before he could process what was even happening, Noah found himself scooped away from the edge of the volcano and lifted a few extra meters off of the ground, held victoriously above the latino in an overhead lift like he was some sort or glorified barbell. The shock of which inadvertently caused him to drop his own dummy, sending the construct tumbling into the bubbling, gaping chasm below until it plunged into the awaiting magma with a barely audible 'plop'.

For a brief tension-paused moment the two remained eerily still, almost frozen in place with disbelief (an impressive feat, considering it was far too fucking hot for anything to freeze atop the volcano).

Well.

That was that, then.

…It was sort of anticlimactic, really. Noah was almost disappointed.

"Um," The bookworm began, quickly schooling his surprise at being lifted and brandished like a javelin into his usual apathetic countenance, "Are you going to put me down, or…?"

Noah's enquiry was met a bark of high pitched laughter, a sound so entrenched in sardonic humour it was practically swimming in animosity.

"Ah, but Noah," Alejandro preened indulgently, as if he were speaking to a small child, and his snarl curled into a manic grimace. The archvillain's eyes were widened to their extreme, dying wisps of ember light flickering across his gaze which trailed from the waifish nerd held above his head to the boiling magma below.

"I still have a dummy to discard of."

In other words,

THROW THAT TWIG

INTO THE VOLCANO!!!
