Book review: Scifi
As I said in my last post, I finished two books fairly close together. This was the second one I read.
The book I'm talking about today is
Loch Ness Leap by Sandy Schofield
So, this one's a little different than the books I normally read and review. I will occasionally read scifi or dystopian, but most of the time I read romance and fantasy. I wanted to read this one because it is based off of one of my absolute favorite shows, Quantum Leap!
If you've never watched Quantum Leap, don't know what it's about, here's the intro:
“Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Doctor Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished... He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Doctor Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home…”
Oh, I love it! The original one. I refuse to watch the remake. I refuse to let them ruin it.
Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend the show, it's beautiful and so much fun, and I've rewatched it like twelve times and it never gets old! The original one. The one with Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, not the new mess they're making.
So because of my obsession with that gorgeous show, I found me a book. Really, if I'm remembering correctly, my sister found it at the Goodwill and handed it to me which I then obviously bought. And yes, I'm aware that's bad grammar, it's just fun to use bad grammar sometimes!
Here's the blurb:
Sam Beckett leaps into the body of Dr. Donald Harding, a theoretical physicist, who has come to Loch Ness where his son is trying to prove the existence of the fabled Nessie and where Sam encounters a strangely familiar young woman who holds the key to Sam's own future.
And here's what I think:
Ok, so first of all, I don't really care about the Loch Ness monster, so this would not have been my first choice of Quantum Leap books, but this was the one we found at the Goodwill, so this is the one I had.
It was... okay. I will admit, I was a little disappointed with it. I love Quantum Leap and have actually written a few flash fiction which I am really pleased with. I feel like the characters could have been written a little better. There were times I could hear Sam's voice in my head while I was reading, but I couldn't really hear Al saying anything he said in the book. Which made me sad.
Also, one of my favorite parts of the show is the interaction between Sam and Al, but there was very little of that in this book, which also disappointed me.
I couldn't find any triggers, other than a rocky relationship between a father and son, but I'm not sure that really qualifies. There were maybe a few mild swears, but I don't remember if there actually were any or not.
So, in short, I read it. Wasn't the biggest fan. I would rather watch the show. My recommendation would be to watch the show. Seriously. You should watch it. It's so good. I wouldn't necessarily recommend Loch Ness Leap. If I find more books based off the show, I'll let you know how they are, but based off of my experience with this one, I wouldn't expect much.
I'll be back with more book reviews soon! I think I said in my last post that I'm working on two books again, which is true. I'm not sure how I feel about them just yet, but I'll let you know!

Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley under fire as they return
As Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley returned to their hosting duties on This Morning today, not all fans were happy to see them. The duo took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in March. However, they’ve faced a rocky start – with reports of ratings plummeting and complaints from viewers. Some people weren’t excited […]

There's a cycle that starts when the snow melts and the earth thaws high in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. It's a seasonal cycle based on timing and temperature, two variables that climate change is pushing increasingly out of sync.
To the outsider, it can be hard to see: Plants still grow, flowers bud, bears awake, and marmots breed. Broad-tailed hummingbirds still trill around a landscape that evokes the opening scene of The Sound of Music, with flowery meadows and granite peaks.
But those who know this ecosystem will tell you something is a little off. The flowers are blooming earlier. The marmots are mating in early May. Spring is springing sooner across the Northern Hemisphere, changing natural cycles around the world.
In Alaska, brown bears are changing their feeding habits to eat elderberries that ripen earlier.
In California, birds are nesting and breeding a week earlier than they did a century ago.
"One of the consequences of climate change is that even though everything is happening earlier, they're not changing at the same rate," says David Inouye, an ecologist from the University of Maryland who has spent more than 40 years documenting the change in Colorado's alpine meadows.
"Marmots are all about getting obese," Dan Blumstein, a conservation biologist from the University of California, Los Angeles, says. "They adjust their annual schedule appropriately to be active when the vegetation is growing."
An earlier spring means a longer growing season, so they have more time to gather food. As a result, Blumstein says marmots seem to be getting bigger. He stops short of calling them a "climate change winner" though, noting that a longer growing season also means more chances for them to be killed by predators.

From UTSports.com A trio of Tennessee basketball players have earned postseason honors from the Southeastern Conference head coaches, the conference announced Tuesday. Junior guard Santiago Vescovi earned first-team All-SEC acclaim, while freshman guard Kennedy Chandler was a second-team All-SEC selection. Freshman guard Zakai Zeigler was also recognized, as he was named to the five-man SEC All-Defensive Team. Chandler and Zeigler both also earned inclusion on the SEC All-Freshman Team. Vescovi became the third Vol to garner first-team All-SEC honors under seventh-year head coach Rick Barnes, joining Grant Williams (2018, 2019) and Admiral Schofield (2019). Vescovi concluded the regular season as the SEC's leader in 3-point percentage (.445) and made 3-pointers (57) during conference play. The Montevideo, Uruguay, native averaged 14.3 points per game in SEC play while also dishing out 3.0 assists per contest. Entering the SEC Tournament, Vescovi's 87 total made 3-pointers this season stand as the eighth-most made threes by a Tennessee player in a single season in program history. A consensus five-star prospect and Memphis native, Chandler has burst onto the scene as a freshman on Rocky Top. In 17 regular-season SEC games, Chandler averaged 13.8 points, 4.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. He finished the regular season as the SEC leader in overall steals per game (2.2) and ranked fifth in overall assists per game (4.6). With 64 total steals this season entering the SEC Tournament, Chandler also set the record for most steals by a freshman in program history. Zeigler was a consistent sparkplug off Tennessee's bench during conference play, averaging 10.1 points per game—scoring in double figures during nine of the Vols' final 11 conference games. Zeigler also finished the regular season just one steal shy of the SEC lead during conference play, averaging 2.2 takeaways per game with 40 steals in 18 SEC games. This season marks Tennessee's second year in a row placing two players on the SEC All-Freshman Team after first-round NBA Draft picks Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer made the team last season. Overall during the Barnes era, Chandler and Zeigler are UT's fourth and fifth SEC All-Freshman Team selections, joining Williams (2017), Johnson (2021) and Springer (2021). Zeigler also is only the fourth Vol ever to be selected to the SEC All-Defensive Team and the first to do it as a freshman. He joins JaJuan Smith (2008), Josh Richardson (2014, 2015) and Yves Pons (2020, 2021) as Tennessee players to receive that honor. All the streaming services, ranked
CLOSE
If youre struggling with which streaming service suits your needs, here are the pros and cons of the biggest brands. USA TODAY
Welcome to the era of the Streaming Wars.
Hollywood is getting more crowded than ever as two new online streaming services, Apple TV+ and Disney+, join the digital fight for your eyeballs and money in November. And there’s still more to come: Next spring, WarnerMedia’s HBO Max and Comcast’s Peacock join the mix.
With Netflix, Hulu and Amazon already dominating the streaming world, and smaller players like CBS All Access, Shudder and Acorn TV fighting for their place in the mix, the new TV landscape can be a daunting avalanche of choices, and subscribing to every new service can easily end up costing more than that cable bill you already cut.
But not all streaming services are created equal. Before you subscribe to the latest, consider our list of the major services, ranked from best to worst. We’ve included only services not available as a cable channel (sorry, HBO Now), and those streaming in 2019 (we’ll get back to HBO Max and Peacock later).
The Handmaid’s Tale was Hulu’s first breakout hit. (Photo: Hulu)
1. Hulu
Cost: $5.99/month with ads; $11.99/month commercial-free
Originals: A mix of award-winning high profile dramas (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Act”), tiny, quirky and acclaimed comedies (“PEN15,” “Shrill”) and occasional theatrical or streaming-only films (“Little Monsters,” “Fyre Fraud”).
Library: Includes currently airing TV shows on ABC, NBC and Fox (“The Masked Singer,” “Stumptown”) paired with archival series (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Designing Women,” “Seinfeld”) and films (“Boyz n the Hood”).
Kid-friendly? A robust kids’ section has mostly older shows (“Sailor Moon,” “Doug”) but a few originals like “The Bravest Knight.”
Hulu tops our list because it’s a broadly appealing service that offers plenty of genres and styles without scraping the bottom of the barrel for new content. The ability to watch current broadcast shows in-season is a huge advantage. And Hulu has the best selection of archival TV series with a solid showing of films, too. Its originals could be better, but the service has wisely chosen not to overload us with shoddy new programming, a mistake its biggest competitor, Netflix, has unfortunately made. Hulu’s value is likely to grow in the next few years, now that Disney effectively owns the service. Adult Marvel content will likely gravitate here, along with a trove of FX series.
Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin in Stranger Things 3 . (Photo: Netflix.)
2. Netflix
Cost: $8.99/month to watch on one screen at once, $12.99/month to watch on two screens or $15.99/month to watch on four screens in Ultra HD.
Originals: Has the largest crop of originals, which means the biggest mix in quality as well. Notables include “Stranger Things,” “Queer Eye” and “The Crown,” in addition to Oscar-bait movies like Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman.”
Library: Shrinking every year. Although some stalwarts remain on the service (“Breaking Bad,” “Dexter,” “Supernatural”), Netflix is investing in originals, not in holding onto the rights for legacy series and films. (“Friends,” “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” are among those shifting elsewhere by 2021 for U.S. subscribers).
Kid-friendly? Netflix’s kids’ section is massive, populated mostly with dozens of originals (A “Boss Baby” series, an upcoming “Green Eggs and Ham” adaptation) and some library content (“Pokemon”).
Netflix may be synonymous with the idea of streaming content, but while it pioneered the format, it hasn’t perfected it. The service has a huge number of films and TV shows to choose from, but that library isn’t as good as it once was. Netflix’s biggest flaw is that it is abandoning its archival content in favor of an ever-more-mediocre slate of originals across all genres of TV and film. Some of these series are brilliant (“The Crown,” “BoJack Horseman”), others are decent (“Queer Eye”), but most are poor facsimiles of better TV (“Ozark,” “Fuller House”). The movies that premiere on the service without a theatrical run (and thus, aren’t vying for Oscars) have a distinct “TV movie” vibe. Still, Netflix is a really valuable service and the biggest name in the game, only slightly edged out by Hulu.
Pedro Pascal stars as the title character in the new Disney+ series, “The Mandalorian.” (Photo: Francois Duhamel, Lucasfilm Ltd.)
3. Disney+
Cost: $6.99/month or $69.99/year (available Nov. 12)
Originals: The first Star Wars live-action series (“The Mandalorian”), teen comedy “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “Toy Story” spinoff “Forky Asks a Question” and a slew of nonfiction series. More Star Wars and Marvel series are promised over the next few years.
Library: The Disney Vault has opened, and classics (“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”) and duds (“The Shaggy D.A.”) alike will flood the service, along with recent blockbusters (“Avengers: Endgame”) from the studio. Some titles inherited from the merger with 20th Century Fox (“The Simpsons”) also are available.
Kid-friendly? Extremely. All content on the service is family friendly to some degree, to fit with the Disney brand.
The biggest threat to existing services comes from the biggest conglomerate in Hollywood. Disney is flexing its considerable muscle by offering its classic films paired with original series from its biggest brands: Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel. Its huge library is its biggest advantage, as is the ability to reboot and revive (“Lizzie McGuire,” here we come). But the biggest disadvantage is the lack of diversity in programming. Everything here will be very Disney in tone and style, and the service has no plans for mature programming and mindless reality TV, which has its time and place. If you have kids, the value of the service goes up exponentially, but for those of us not trying to entertain tykes, other streamers have more to choose from.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge takes a smoking break as the titular character in Amazon’s “Fleabag.” (Photo: STEVE SCHOFIELD/AMAZON)
4. Amazon Prime Video
Cost: $12.99/month, but comes with free two-day shipping
Originals: “Jack Ryan,” “Bosch,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and lots of small, awards-friendly fare, a lineup that’s changing rapidly as the company embraces genre shows like an upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series.
Library: A wide assortment that most notably includes Masterpiece dramas(“Downton Abbey”), mid-2000s procedurals (“The Closer,” “Bones”), USA Network shows (“Mr. Robot,” “Suits”) and some older HBO programming.
Kid-friendly? Yes, Amazon includes originals like “Kung Fu Panda” and Nickelodeon series like “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Dora the Explorer.”
Amazon’s TV output is perfectly acceptable, especially if you like quaint British television and series your grandparents will enjoy. The streamer excels at comedies (Emmy-winning “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Fleabag”) and has an impressive selection of British TV (“Doctor Who,” “Broadchurch”). Its library of old series and originals is not as big as Hulu and Netflix, but it does have Oscar-nominated films (“The Big Sick” and “Manchester by the Sea”) acquired from festivals. Your money goes further, because it pays for two-day shipping with TV as a bonus, but it still offers a higher proportion of niche programming than its rivals. Unlike Netflix or Hulu, it can’t replace your cable subscription all on its own, but its lineup will expand to include a fashion series from Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum and an expensive “Rings” adaptation.
Sonequa Martin-Green returns as Michael Burnham for a third season of “Star Trek: Discovery.” (Photo: JOHN MEDLAND/CBS)
5. CBS All Access
Cost: $5.99/month with commercials, $9.99/month without
Originals: “Star Trek: Discovery,” “The Good Fight,” “The Twilight Zone,” “Why Women Kill”
Library: Current (and recent) CBS series, classics (“I Love Lucy”) and movies (“Rocky”).
Kid-friendly? Some library content like “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Everybody Hates Chris,” but nothing for preschoolers and no originals.
Don’t knock the Eye’s streaming service until you’ve tried it. It’s a little on the expensive side for the number of originals, but its streaming shows have a better batting average when it comes to quality (“The Good Fight” is one of the best shows on TV). In addition to CBS shows, its library includes a treasure trove of classic films and TV, such as “Happy Days” and “The Brady Bunch.” However, it’s still limited in scope, so seeing some episodes of “Star Trek: Picard” a few times a year may not be worth the expense.
Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon star in the new Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show.” (Photo: Apple)
6. Apple TV+
Cost: $4.99/month; free for one year with purchase of an Apple product (available Nov. 1)
Originals: “The Morning Show,” “See,” “For All Mankind,” “Dickinson,” “The Elephant Queen,” “Oprah’s Book Club,” and other new shows from M. Night Shyamalan and Steven Spielberg.
Library: None
Kid friendly? Nope
Despite its low price tag, Apple has a distinct disadvantage in value because it has no back library of classic shows or films. You could burn through their entire new catalog in a few weeks. And you wouldn’t get much from binge-watching the new series, which include “The Morning Show,” a mediocre soap starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The best of the bunch is alternate history drama “For All Mankind,” from the creator of “Battlestar Galactica,” but is it worth the money to see just one maybe-good show? Probably not.
Three decades after “The Karate Kid,” Johnny (left, William Zabka) and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) face off again in “Cobra Kai.” (Photo: YOUTUBE RED)
Honorable mentions: AcornTV, Britbox, Shudder, YouTube and Facebook Watch
A few other, much smaller streaming services are vying for your wallet. AcornTV and BritBox are for serious Anglophiles (Acorn has more mysteries, Britbox has all of classic “Doctor Who”). Shudder is devoted to horror. Facebook Watch and YouTube are a mix of user-created and professional content. Facebook Watch has one good original series (“Sorry for Your Loss” starring Elisabeth Olsen); so does YouTube (“Karate Kid” sequel “Cobra Kai”). Facebook Watch is free if you have time for it, and YouTube also has a free tier, with ads.

Moore 'filthy' about Hadley's handshake after 'bully' claim
"Mate, Im filthy about this," he told PS, when asked to explain how he came to shake Hadley's hand. "I was contemplating how to use the coffee machine. I heard ,'hi Andrew', turned around and was stunned to see him [Hadley] with his hand reaching for mine, so technically I did shake it." But according to Moore: "Clearly he did it to report in to Rothfield. He asked me how I was and then in the most awkward 60 seconds of my life tried to help me use the coffee machine before disappearing." "I was trying to work out his angle, obviously reporting that to Rothfield was it. "And Rothfield has been, as far as Im aware, the only one trying to find a positive story about the bloke."
Sickened: Andrew Moore has accused Ray Hadley of bullying.Credit:ABC Moore confirmed it was the first contact he had with Hadley, who has declined to comment on Moore, since making his explosive accusations on April 3. "Im fully aware there is a reason for every action he takes, just wish I had seen him coming," Moore lamented, adding that he had not been contacted by Rothfield before the story was published. "When my wife read the story online I felt sick." PS had revealed in 2015 that Moore had kept a 40 page file on Hadley during his time at 2GB and contemplated launching legal action, but opted to quit the station to take up his current position with the ABC. Moore, who is now the ABC's Grandstand presenter and has known Hadley for 35 years, told 7.30 earlier this month: "As a human being, I think he's a bully. I think he thrives on intimidation yelling and screaming." When Moore complained to 2GB management about treatment he'd received, he said the matter ended up in Hadley's hands and was used as material for his show. "What I thought were private emails [were] being referred to on air by Ray, laughing about them. Not mentioning me by name, but it was clear, at least to me," Moore said. Hadley told 7.30 that he didn't remember such an incident and went on air the next day to reiterate that following previous allegations of bullying his workplace behaviour had changed. However, as PS has already exclusively revealed, within days Hadley was the subject of at least two new allegations of workplace bullying, which had been formally filed with management and are alleged to have occurred in recent months. PS has confirmed these new claims, by existing staff at 2GB, are currently being investigated by an independent third party. Hadley, sporting a new beard, returned to the 2GB Sydney studios last week after having relocated to Queensland for three weeks. Insiders report neither Hadley nor management have made any comment officially or unofficially about the latest claims. Management at 2GB's parent company Macquarie Media which is 54.5 per cent owned by Nine, the owner of this masthead has repeatedly stood by its position that it is unable to comment on bullying claims as they are treated confidentially. Rocky time for Jacenko as attacks hit raw nerve With the cameras out in full force, Roxy Jacenko ensured she was all smiles as she attempted in vain to operate a dish scourer to scrub the "Roxy is a c---" graffiti plastered over her Paddington offices on Wednesday morning.
On the hunt: Roxy Jacenko is offering a $5,000 reward to find the culprits of her latest graffiti attack.Credit:Louie Douvis By lunchtime it was gone, but similar missives scrawled along the route Jacenko takes from her Bondi home to her Paddington offices were not quite as easy to remove, especially on the wall of busy Syd Einfeld Drive. Jacenko, who is offering a $5,000 reward to find the culprits, claims she is unfazed by the latest attacks, but pin-pointing the offenders will not be an easy task, even with police currently investigating and her own CCTV footage showing a pair of men attacking her building in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Jacenko's various tribulations have been documented for many years, including across these pages. When PS approached her for comment on Wednesday, Jacenko wryly fired back: "Andrew, was it you?"
Graffiti sprayed on the wall of Roxy Jacenko's Paddington office.Credit:Andrew Hornery Well, PS hates to disappoint but it wasn't. Indeed, Jacenko has many detractors. She remains embroiled in an ugly and highly-public stoush with both her father Nick Jacenko and his partner, fashion designer Lisa Ho, which resulted in police being called following one particularly nasty incident on the streets of Woollahra. She is also estranged from her younger sister Ruby, more than a decade after her sibling was accused of punching Roxy twice at a Kings Cross party. In 2013 she was the subject of a 1000-word plus poison-pen letter purportedly written by a former staffer and titled Miss Karma. The letter went viral. In more recent years everything from her nose job and boob job, breast cancer media deals, relationship with former lover Nabil Gazal while her husband Oliver Curtis was in jail, to her children's relentless social media exposure, has ensured her position as one of this city's most written about characters. But Jacenko has not loved ALL the attention. In 2016 she called in the police after a lewd photo scandal erupted surrounding her then four-year-old daughter Pixie involving photo-shopped images of the little girl. In February she was rattled enough to engage lawyers after she was embroiled in a vulgar slanging match in front of a packed room with one of the attendees at her one-woman motivational talk. And behind the scenes, some of her closest associates say the latest attack which follows three other vandalism episodes on her building, ranging from paint bombing to faeces being smeared over her front door have hit a raw nerve. Last week PS revealed how unpopular she had become with neighbours in Paddington fed up with her $400,000 Aston Martin and husband's $250,000 Range Rover being illegally parked on their already cramped street. Next month her Sweaty Betty PR firm is marking its 15-year anniversary and Jacenko is understood to have plans for a big party. Exactly who will be celebrating remains to be seen. Pay no attention to the missing actor With his 32-year relationship in tatters, one time Australian showbiz golden boy Simon Gallaher has pulled out of his starring role in the Wizard of Oz spectacular. Gallaher told PS he was unable to face the audience on Newcastle this weekend and has quit from the production, in which he was due to play the role of the Wizard as it toured regional Australia.
Simon Gallaher (top-right) has exited the production of Wizard of Oz. Gallaher's personal life has been heavily scrutinised for the past six months since his former lover, fellow entertainer Todd McKenney, revealed how he discovered his ex-boyfriend had left him for his sister, Lisa. This week Gallaher confirmed his marriage to Lisa, the mother of their two adult children, had come to an end following McKenney's extraordinary revelations, which McKenney made in a lengthy interview on a gay community radio station in Melbourne late last year. The split comes as the Gallahers are expecting to welcome their first grandchild in a matter of weeks.
Todd McKenney as P.T. Barnum.Credit:Jeff Busby Gallaher took to social media to defend the decisions he had made in his private life after being openly criticised. Gallaher wrote on Twitter: "There was no lying, no delusions, no double life. A wonderful monogamous relationship with someone for 32 years. The other was a former dalliance long finished before a loving and fruitful marriage with no secrets. This is a public outing not a personal one. Check your facts." McKenney, who coincidentally opens in Melbourne this weekend with his latest role as P.T. Barnum, declined to comment further when PS called for a response to Gallaher's claim their five-year relationship was a "dalliance". Town goes to country for birthday bash If Ron and Nancy Reagan were still alive, it would be a safe bet that they would be among the long lineup of social luminaries heading to socialite, charity queen and one time cover girl Skye Leckie's 60th birthday party at her country estate Mulberry Farm in the Southern Highlands this weekend.
Birthday girl: Sydney society queen Skye Leckie is planning to mark her 60th birthday in a very big way this weekend. The Reagans became instant fans of Leckie way back in 1982 when she was Skye Macleod and ended up on the cover of US society magazine Town & Country wearing an Akubra for the magazine's special edition on Australia. She had been working for Vogue Australia "writing captions in a storeroom" at the time when she was asked to pose for the magazine.
Covergirl: Skye Leckie on the cover of American magazine Town & Country in 1982. "I forgot all about it but then I got a call from the White House and immediately thought it was someone having a lend and hung up because I was trying to get the Lotto numbers off the TV. But they rang back, and were deadly serious. I realised it wasn't a prank at all. Ronald and Nancy wanted to know about my hat and by the time I hung up I was arranging to have Akubras and a couple of Drizabones sent over to them," Leckie recalled to PS this week. The Town & Country cover has been dusted off and used as her party invitation, with the likes of Gretel Packer, Julie Bishop, Leo Schofield, Rachel Griffiths, Michael Usher, Mark Ferguson, Karl Stefanovic and Samantha Armytage, along with PS, heading for what promises to be one of the parties of the year. Andrew Hornery is a senior journalist and Private Sydney columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald. One final home game for Bryce, Horace, Malik and Cole!! Let’s make it memorable one!
Date: Saturday March 9th
Opponent: #5 Tennessee Volunteers - 27-3 (15-2)
Location: Auburn Arena
Time: 11AM
Network: ESPN, Auburn Radio Network
When Bryce Brown, Horace Spencer and Cole Blackstock came to campus, Auburn Basketball was an afterthought. When Malik Dunbar arrived 2 years ago, it was right before the start of something special. These 4 guys will play in their final home game today as Auburn welcomes the Tennessee Volunteers to Auburn to close out the regular season. Tennessee will look to win at least a share of the SEC Regular Season title while Auburn is looking for the final double bye in the SEC Tournament next week. Auburn needs to beat Tennessee and for Georgia to beat South Carolina for that to happen. If Auburn wins, and South Carolina wins, then the Tigers will be the #5 seed playing on Thursday. With a loss, Auburn could fall as far as a #7 seed with the potential of playing (gulp) Alabama in the first game if the Razorbacks beat Alabama today. With all of that said, let’s move on to Tennessee. We did a Q&A with SB Nation’s Rocky Top Talk yesterday if you want to read more about today’s game from a Tennessee perspective.
Get to Know Tennessee...
The Vols are an outstanding basketball team and this will be one of Auburn’s toughest challenges this year, especially in the paint. We have to start with junior forward and last year’s SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams (#2). Williams looks like he may repeat in winning that award this year although Kentucky’s P.J. Washington and LSU’s Tremont Waters may have a say in that. Williams leads the SEC averaging 19.1 points a game while also averaging 7.6 rebounds a game. He’s a good free throw shooter (83%) and shoots 34.2% from 3-point range. As a fan of college basketball, I’m excited to watch him play in person for the first time.

— Rob Dauster (@RobDauster) February 28, 2019
Next we have senior guard Admiral Schofield (#5), a tall guard at 6’6”, he’s 2nd on the team averaging 16.4 points a game. He’s been in double figures in all but 3 games this season and shoots 39.4% from 3-point range this year. Between Williams and Schofield, these two guys are going to be a handful for Auburn’s defense.
A very underrated portion of Tennessee’s team is their guard play. While Williams and Schofield get most of the headlines, the talent level of their guards doesn’t drop off much, if at all.
Junior guard (#0) Jordan Bone has had a terrific season nearly doubling his scoring average from 7.3 last year to 13.3 this year. Bone scored 27 points last Saturday against Kentucky and made all 5 3-pointers in that game. He didn’t make a 3 in 4 tries against Mississippi State on Tuesday but Bone’s a very capable 3-point shooter at 34.9% for the season.
Junior guard (#1) Lamonte Turner is a Florence, Alabama native averaging 10.6 points a game this year. He’s had back to back 4 point games and his numbers have been up and down this year so we’ll see what kind of game Turner has today.
Rounding out the starting lineup is senior forward (#11) Kyle Alexander, who’s 6’11” and averaging 7.6 points and 6.6 rebounds a game this year.
Off the bench, Tennessee has an outstanding 6th man in junior guard (#23) Jordan Bowden. He’s averaging 10.3 points a game this season and put up his most points in a game in nearly a month scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds in their win over Mississippi State Tuesday.
Another player off the bench to take note of is sophomore forward (#10) John Fulkerson. Think of Horace Spencer and what he brings off the bench, particularly his energy. While averaging just 3.4 points a game, expect Fulkerson to play some big minutes for Tennessee in the paint.
What to Look for from Auburn...
Normally I tell you who to watch out for but I feel as today is Senior Day, it’s an opportunity to honor the seniors as they play their final game in Auburn Arena today.
Bryce Brown
Brown has 341 made 3-pointers, most in Auburn history and 5th most in the history of the SEC. He’s made 100 3s so far this season and is shooting 40% on the season from 3-point range. When Brown first came to campus, he was primarily a 3-point shooter but has developed on defense and he’s willing to take the ball into the paint much more than he was when he first got here. Brown was also one of the building blocks that’s helped this program to take off and his contributions won’t soon be forgotten by this writer. My hope is he has a game like he did in last year’s regular season finale today.
When Bryce Brown is on, it’s incredible to watch. This got it down to 3. pic.twitter.com/wFPKep8Ma8

Senior @Bwb_2 has made 341 3 pointers in his illustrious Auburn career 180 of those have come in Auburn Arena Here's #1 pic.twitter.com/xMJsL2XWFC

Horace Spencer
Horace Spencer will always be one of my favorite Auburn players, for his energy, defense and mostly, just his hustle on the court. Horace came in with Bryce Brown and made a big impact in his first collegiate game.
This was the first game I saw Auburn win. Horace Spencer, playing his last home game tomorrow, had the game winning block in his first collegiate game. pic.twitter.com/34WEOPvxKg
— Will McLaughlin (@ShootyHoopsWill) March 8, 2019
Horace has started at times but for the most part, he’s come off the bench and played well in his role. His energy is going to be greatly missed next year and these blocks as well.
When will people learn? Thou Shall NOT Attempt to Dunk on Horace Spencer!!!! pic.twitter.com/kgM0BdDW6X
— Will McLaughlin (@ShootyHoopsWill) February 4, 2019
Also, never, ever question Horace Spencer’s heart, especially after coming back into the Kentucky game earlier this year after being bloodied up moments earlier.
Never underestimate the heart of Horace Spencer. Gets knocked down, stitched back up and scores on his first touch back in the game. 55 looks good on you Horace! pic.twitter.com/h4qV7uSi1S

Malik Dunbar
I wasn’t really sure what to think when Auburn signed Dunbar last summer but man, he’s been a fun guy to watch these last 2 years. With his infectious personality, to his vicious dunks, to getting a moniker started by our own AU Chief, #ClassicMalik, I’m gonna miss this guy next year. Dunbar, like Spencer, have both given Auburn a bunch of needed energy off the bench this season. Auburn doesn’t beat UAB without either of these guys and Auburn doesn’t win the Alabama game without Malik this week.
Auburn doesn’t win that game tonight without Malik Dunbar. His putback dunk really got the run going to get Auburn back in the game. Had a 3-point play and a 3 in that spurt as well. Jared and Chuma will get the accolades as they should, but we need to give Malik some love too.
— Will McLaughlin (@ShootyHoopsWill) March 6, 2019
Dunbar has had more of a role than I anticipated on this year’s team and he’s earned that based on the energy he always brings to the table. There are so many Malik dunks I can show here but I’ll show a 3-pointer and 2 of my favorite dunks.
Last one: had to go back to Mizzou because I needed another one for Malik Dunbar. Auburn hit 5 3s in the first half. This was their 6th of the second half. (Note the Time) pic.twitter.com/0EgMxVjYJU
— Will McLaughlin (@ShootyHoopsWill) February 4, 2019
Hearing the reaction to Dunbar’s dunk on the computer is one thing but I legit thought the roof was coming off of Auburn Arena after this one!!! THROW IT DOWN!! pic.twitter.com/yULf0lw2AE
— Will McLaughlin (@ShootyHoopsWill) January 14, 2019
Hailing from South Carolina, junior Malik Dunbar is Auburn’s high-flying-rim-rattler known for his ferocious dunks, but don’t be fooled because the 6’6” guard/forward combo can hit ‘em from deep. That said, one analyst referred to Dunbar’s legs as pogo sticks after an angry dunk. pic.twitter.com/XkU6RCLi7z
— Skye Underwood (@SkyeUnderwood) March 15, 2018
Cole Blackstock
Auburn was able to put Cole on scholarship this past year and while walk-ons don’t get the love that most people do, they are just as important to a team as anyone else. And I think Cole is gonna do just fine, especially as a 4.0 student in the rigorous Auburn Engineering program.
ICYMI: “Cole is a 4.0 student in the College of Engineering. You can have this cheer: ‘That’s alright, that’s OK, you’re gonna work for him someday.’” Love it, @coachbrucepearl. Our engineers “believe in work, hard work.” Nice job, Cole Blackstock, sr. in electrical engineering. pic.twitter.com/jgVdG2AMUx
— Auburn University Ginn College of Engineering (@AuburnEngineers) January 31, 2019
This may be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen though.
May be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Make sure to give Cole Blackstock some love on his final home game as an Auburn Tiger tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/WOIYwRU6ox

Score Prediction
Alright, back to business. This game is going to come down to whether or not Auburn can contain Williams and Schofield, two of the best players Auburn may have played this year not named Zion Williamson or R.J. Barrett. They also have to make 3-pointers tomorrow, plain and simple. Tennessee’s defense at times has struggled of late but the last week, they’ve held opponents in the 50s. That cannot happen today if Auburn wants to win this game.
I think this will be an outstanding college basketball game and all week, I’ve thought Auburn was going to find a way to protect their home court on senior day. Tennessee knows what’s at stake for them. They also know that Auburn beat them on their homecourt last year. It’s going to be a battle but in the end, I think Auburn gets this done in a game you and I won’t forget for a long time.

Pack of Orphans, Chapter 2
Fic summary: Orphan Black AU. Gary Schofield's life changes when he witnesses a man who looks exactly like him commit suicide and decides to don his identity. He is soon drawn into a vast network with science and the supernatural competing against each other for answers to a decades old experiment. Ao3.
Rating: M
He couldn't stop staring at Not Lacey as they fled the scene of the crime. Put more make-up on her, change her outfit and she’d look closer to Lace than he did to Danny. But her tells were different; Lacey would be drumming her fingers on the steering wheel, not picking at the material of it.
“I can’t believe he’s dead.”
He glanced up at Belle’s face. She looked as pale as he felt, staring blankly at the road ahead as she put distance between them and the scene. Her head shook slightly.
“I mean, we just saw him this afternoon… Tried to calm him down about Danny not returning any calls, assured him we’d check on him if he didn’t respond soon...” She turned to him, “So does that make you Gary Schofield?”
“Gaz but yeah.” He raked his fingers through his hair, “So what, you just decided to check in and that’s why you witnessed the bloody Rocky Horror Picture Show?”
“I figured Begbie would do something dramatic.” She shook her head incredulously, “Did I know the hitman was going to be there? Of course not, we didn’t even know he was in London.”
“Back?” Gaz echoed, “Hitman? What the fuck is going on?”
“Your guess is as good as any of ours.” They were starting to head out of the heart of the city now, towards the suburbs, “We figure the organization is sending someone after all of you to either terminate the experiment or get rid of the evidence it occurred...both’s possible too I suppose.”
“A fucking experiment?!”
“Please, Gaz, we’ll get you up to speed with what little we know,” she assured him, casting him sympathetic glances when she could spare the attention from the road, “A lot is still speculation… And I think it’ll be better to sit down and talk it out rather than continuing to give you half answers as we speed away from a homicide.”
“Fine.” He turned around in his seat, staring back behind them. He didn’t know if that maniac had a car but damned if he wasn’t at least going to keep an eye out, “...but how the hell do you know Lacey? Is she part of this too?”
Belle sighed, “She’s not… But apparently she didn’t tell you about me.”
They drove on in silence and he watched the buildings climb up the income ladder. By the time Belle pulled into the driveway of a house, it was in the not-even-in-his-dreams price bracket. He followed her up the path to a porch worthy of lazy summer lounging, stepping into a foyer that automatically made him feel like he should be taking off his shoes and avoiding touching anything.
“Nick?”
“We’re in here.” Belle’s voice echoed from nearby. It took all of his Year One manners not to push Belle aside and lead himself into the living room.
Lacey of all people was on the couch, legs crossed and arms spread over the back of it. Drink in hand she was watching a man standing next to a white board who, surprise surprise, looked like a scruffy older version of him. Lacey nearly spilled her drink as she got to her heels.
“Gaz!”
“It’s fine, I’m fine, this is…” He looked down at his clothes, thinking he should’ve made some attempt in the car to at least get his face cleaned up, “...not my blood.”
The new doppleganger hardly paid him any mind, going straight for Belle. They embraced, her hand cradling his head and his splayed across her upper back.
“Nick…”
He pulled away, snapping, “What the hell were you doing?!”
“I was worried about Begbie pulling something...Begbie-esque, and he did. But he was right, it’s not Danny, Danny was the one who was killed by the train.” She gestured to Gaz, “This...is Gary Schofield. Gaz, this is my husband, Dr. Nicholas Rush.”
The other man finally took notice of him, though didn’t seem particularly impressed, “...so you’re Gaz.”
“Aye.”
He contemplated him for a moment longer, “...glad I never went blonde.”
Belle shot him a warning look, before turning to the other woman, “Lacey, you didn’t tell him.” There was no accusation in her voice, just mild surprise.
The room quieted and Gaz felt more than saw Lacey tense, the grip on her glass tightening as her chin tilted up. She rolled her head as though she were working a kink out of her neck before turning to him.
“Yeah so, you know how I’ve told you as long as I’ve known you I don’t care about finding my bio family? Well...she found me.”
Gaz stared at Lacey, feeling like he was looking at a stranger instead of his best friend, “...and you didn’t tell me?”
“You were kind of busy pretending to be a nightclub owner… And I was embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed?”
“Yeah, look at her, Miss I’m-Fucking-A-Rocket-Scientist,” Lacey jerked her head towards her.
“Professor of quantum physics, but close enough,” Belle brushed it off, “And tell me you wouldn’t be curious if you learned you were adopted and, when you went to search for your parents, you found out you had a sister.”
“No, because I’ve never been curious about my parents! They gave me up so clearly they didn’t think much about me.” She finished her drink and plopped back down on the couch, “Anyway it didn’t matter until now, because of this Twilight Zone shite...”
“Of course it mattered,” Gaz muttered, taking a seat beside her, “You matter to me, Lace… Always.”
“This is all very touching,” Nick drawled, “But unfortunately low on the agenda. You two can discuss lies of omission afterwards, but right now we need to patch together what happened at Devine’s joint and what we know so far about why we have all these familiar faces.”
“You’re going to want a drink,” Belle told Gaz, “What would you like?”
“Anything strong,” he said.
Lacey extended her glass and Belle stepped away, “I think you’ve had about enough.”
“I’ll let you know when I’ve had enough,” Lacey growled. Belle wasn’t dissuaded, touching Nick’s shoulder as she passed him by.
Nicholas sized up his audience as she went into the kitchen, playing with the cap on his marker, “...what do you know about cloning?”
Gaz was struck dumb by the question and Lacey shrugged, “They did it to a sheep in the mid-nineties. Everything else comes from sci-fi.”
“Aye, Dolly is the best known case of actual cloning, certainly not the last.” Nick’s eyes stayed on Gaz, trying to read him, “Us, for example… You, me, Devine, Begbie, MacAvoy, countless others. There’s a very good possibility that we’re all copies from one individual.”
“Bull shit,” Gaz spat, “If humans were being cloned we’d know about it. You can’t keep something like that a secret.”
“You’d be surprised,” Belle returned, offering him a glass of whiskey on the rocks, “I mean, Lacey and I are clones.”
“That’s different,” Lacey insisted, “I seriously doubt we grew in a test tube before being tossed.”
“You’re clones in the basic sense,” Nick defended, “Identical DNA, identical fingerprints… Natural cloning with one fertilized egg splitting in two. Given the age ranges between all of us,” he gestured between himself and Gaz, “...it’s very likely we’re of the...lab rat sort of cloning.”
Really it shouldn't be so much of a surprise; it wasn't a half bad explanation, and he didn't have any better theory. But still…
“...we’re older than the sheep, though.”
“Doesn't mean someone wasn't playing mad scientist in the basement.” Rush muttered, crossing his arms, “Truth is none of us know who made us. It was coincidence MacAvoy and Devine even crossed paths.”
“Danny was a little...well, neurotic,” Belle explained, “He enjoyed his conspiracy theories, so seeing someone who looked almost exactly like him gave him all sorts of ideas. Nick wasn’t difficult to find, being a professor...and I think we found Begbie through Danny’s network… And you through your criminal background.”
It was the first time Gaz had seen the disgruntled academic smile, “Public indecency, eh?”
“Fuck off,” Gaz hissed.
“It was rehearsal that the police butted in on with no context,” Lacey insisted, “Anyway, so far there’s...five clones, two of which are dead.”
“That’s where the live headcount stands right now,” he agreed, “The death toll is...significantly higher.”
“Because of this...bloodhound hitman boogeymonster fellow?”
Gaz wasn’t reassured the way they shared a look before the older man answered.
“During our research we found some...unsettling news reports,” he said haltingly, “Family of four brutally murdered… Mother and kids shot, the father… They’ve only found bits and pieces of him.”
“Jesus Christ…” Gaz muttered. Lacey put her head in her hands.
“It’s a similar MO, but the victims are spread over countries,” Belle said, “Murdered loved ones, the majority of the body never found…”
“And when you went to look at their pictures they all looked like versions of the same guy,” Gaz finished. He shoved his hand into his pocket, pulling out Danny’s phone.
“What are you doing?” Nick barked.
“None of your fucking business!” He dialed the number without thinking, holding it to his ear.
It rang and rang and rang until he got the answering machine. He dialed again and it rang and rang and-
“Who is this?”
He had never been so grateful to hear that bastard Larry’s voice, “Nate and Mandy, they alright?”
“Gaz, is that you?”
“ARE NATE AND MANDY ALRIGHT?!”
There was some mild shuffling, “We’re all asleep…or at least Mandy and I were. You on something?”
“Go check on Nate, please! Make sure he’s in his bed!”
“Sleep it off, will ya?” The line went dead.
Gaz tossed the phone to the other side of the couch and jumped to his feet. Lacey was close behind.
“I’m sure he’s fine,” she insisted, grabbing for his arm.
He shook her off, “I need to be sure!”
She grabbed him by both shoulders, “Chill the fuck out.”
“It’s Nate, I’m not going to fucking chill until I know he’s alright!”
“Running over there in the middle of the night is going to make you look insane!”
“Your boy should be fine for now,” Rush said brusquely, “There’s a gap between his killings.”
“Yeah, well, that was before he saw two of us in the same place!”
He tried to push by Lacey but she stood her ground; those heels must give her some advantage, he thought briefly, digging in for leverage or something.
“Tomorrow,” she promised, “You heard Dr. Scientist; nothing will happen tonight. And you’re still covered in blood, which won’t go over well with any of them.”
He looked between Lacey, Belle, and Dr. Rush and realized he wasn’t going fucking anywhere tonight. He eyed the older nerd version of himself.
“...you got anything I can change into, then?”
Their bathroom could’ve been a studio apartment with a tub and toilet, and the shower was…awkward. Set into a corner with two glass walls, he felt like he was giving a bit of a show to whoever felt like coming in. But god did it feel good to get clean; the hot water even pushed Nate out of his mind temporarily.
He should’ve expected how well the clothes would fit, but it was still eerie how it sagged in all the right places. As if they were only a few pounds between them.
Clones… Like he was in some kind of sci-fi movie, an experiment gone wrong. This was too fucking weird for him… Having a guy look exactly like him was bad enough, but there was a whole swarm of them, and a hitman to boot.
He had to convince Lacey that the best thing for them was to grab Nate and run. The scientist and his assistant wife could play the thriller game but Gaz didn’t want any part of it. He wasn’t the tiniest bit curious about any of this.
When he came back to the living room Lacey was the only one there, lying face-up on the couch and swirling the ice around in her glass idly. He leaned on the back of the couch, bending down to look at her.
“You alright?”
Her eyes moved from the ceiling to his face, “Pretty sure I’m still in shock.” She set the glass on the coffee table, propping herself up on her elbows, “…I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Belle. Honestly I just don’t like thinking about it, you know?”
“I know.”
“I mean look at this shit,” she waved her hand around, “It’s ridiculous… I’m sure they earned it but still.”
It was definitely a different lifestyle than they were used to.
“And where’d they go to?”
“I think they’re filling MacAvoy in on everything,” she eyed him, “…they’ve offered to let us stay what’s left of the night here.”
“You think I’m gonna sleep at all after that?”
“It’s a good drive back to Sheffield,” she sighed, “…and really, I don’t like the idea of just you and me against the clone serial killer. They seem like they’ve got a vague clue as to what’s going on, at least.”
That was pretty much the exact opposite of what he wanted… But if he wasn’t going to check on Nate, he might as well stay here.
“...sure,” he mumbled.
First thing tomorrow morning though, they were heading back.

The sleepy church on the outskirts of Middlesbrough was completely dark and silent, except for the quiet shuffle of feet across stone. Still dressed in his nightshift he moved towards the altar. He crossed himself and knelt before it, fumbling with the match before striking it and shakily lighting the candles.
“Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name…”
He’d been asleep when the call had come. He had jolted upright and fumbled for the disposable cell phone they had given him, answering before he was capable of more than a garbled noise in greeting.
“Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done…”
Begbie’s dead, Rush had announced, and he could hear sweet Belle in the background hissing at him. It was quick, he continued, ignoring her, bullet to the head, didn’t even know what hit him.
As if THAT were supposed to somehow comfort the fact another one of them had fallen victim to the serial killer.
“...on earth as it is in heaven. Give us…”
We’ve got a new one, Gaz. He was pretending to be Danny; had no idea about any of this. Apparently if the hitman didn’t act first Begbie would’ve offed him.
“...give us this day our, our daily bread… and forgive us our trespasses…”
He’s got a son, young-ish we think. You remember what it’s like at first; it’s all you can do just to wrap your head around it.
“...as we...forgive those who trespass against us. And, and lead us not into temptation but...deliver us...deliver us from evil.”
Doesn’t help he got a firsthand look at what we’re dealing with. I think he’s getting out of the shower; Belle, love, you want to get the guest room ready?
“For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.”
He looked up to the cross hanging behind the pulpit. Tears came to his eyes as the prayer remained open and as he thought about the last bottle he had on hand down in his quarters. It didn’t seem that long ago he had gone to a liquor store out of town, going to restock his “emergency supply”...and had literally run into Mr. Devine.
“...I’m so scared,” he whispered to it, shaking his head, “I know that everything is according to Your Plan...but I don’t want to die. I know there have been times I’ve thought about it, but I never truly meant it...”
He had been on the road to sobriety before this had happened. Really he had just been looking for comfort of his own after having to give last rites to a long-time parishioner. But now… How could he be expected NOT to drink?
His lip quivered, as the question that had been bothering him since Dr. Rush had theorized that they were clones spilled out.
“...does Begbie even have a soul to pray for? ...do I?”
He stared at the cross but no divine miracle occurred; no angel descended with prophetic words. He didn’t even hear God’s voice inside of him the way he once had when he was called to ministry.
Joseph was feeling the distinct difference between Mother Theresa’s insistence God would not give her more than she could handle...and Paul the Apostle saying God would not let them be tempted more than they could bear.
“...Lord, please protect me...and my brothers. Amen.”

Top 5 Locations For Photographers
A picture is worth a thousand words but these places tell a thousand stories through photography. Whether you like to take otherworldly scenic photographs or awe-inspiring wildlife shots; these are the five ultimate locations to take the most spectacular images. Pantanal, Brazil This is the place for budding wildlife photographers. You’ll find all sorts of creatures living in the wetlands of South America’s Pantanal. It is home to 1000 bird species, 300 mammalians and 480 reptilians. From tapirs to macaws, there’s always something (or someone) to be captured on camera. Known as ‘Terra de Ninguem’ (No Man’s Land) by the Brazilians, this watery world has a population of around 1,000. Film makers such as National Geographic have used this magnificent location for films and documentaries many times, especially to film the majestic jaguar in action.

Moraine Lake, Canada Moraine Lake is one of the most captivating landscapes on earth. The scenery will leave you in awe as you take snapshots of your surroundings. The waters of the lake are a beautiful crystal blue complexion caused by glacier rock flour. Other than the beautiful colours of the lake; you can also uncover views of the Rocky Mountains glazed in snow and tall evergreen trees lining along the lake. This stunning area is located in Banff National Park, just 8.5 miles outside of Lake Louise village in Alberta.

Baobabs, Madagascar Trees and nature can be very alluring to shoot; The Valley of Baobabs doesn’t disappoint. These trees line the dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina in Madagascar. Baobab trees can be found all throughout the country but the largest group resides in Menabe. The Valley of Baobabs also makes for the best pictures, particularly at night as the sun fades over the horizon. The sky turns to an orange hue, creating a black silhouette of curiously shaped trees against the night’s sky. Again, this effect is created in the mornings as the sun rises. You can uncover this glorious scene yourself on one of our Madagascar projects.

Shoreditch, England Shoreditch is one of the coolest places in England. It’s what people these days would call yippy – young and hip! What it lacks in nature it makes up for in art. Artists paint all over the streets; on buildings and bridges. You’ll find graffiti almost anywhere! Even the famous Banksy has been known to leave his colourful mark on the streets here. There are also tours specifically catered to view all of the different pieces artists have created around the area. If you’re looking to photograph somewhere quirky; look no further. This trendy inner city district can be found in the East End of London.

Lake Tekapo, New Zealand Lake Tekapo is truly picturesque. It is the largest of three parallel lakes and can be found in the heart of Mackenzie Country in New Zealand’s south island. During the day, the icey blue, glacier fed waters and colourful lupins make for splendid photographs. The Southern Alps are also perched up in the distance.

When night comes, a dazzling spectacle lights up the sky. Photographers have been able to take pictures of the Milky Way at this beautiful location. It’s actually part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO’s) Dark Sky Reserves. It’s a wonderful site for stargazing but the pictures the sky creates are breathtaking.
