Just to get an idea of how Right-wing the Democrats of today really are, this was (D) LA, Huey Long's radical plan to save Capitalism from the threat of Socialism.
It makes even the most Progressive proposals of today look like just more of the same Neoliberal trash we already live with, except with a few tweaks
Tumblr media
The "Share Our Wealth" Plan of 1934 included a 100% wealth tax on estates and wealth over $5 Million ($112 Million today) in value, as well as progressive taxes on income over $1 Million ($22 Million today).
These new taxes would be used to pay for free home, car, appliances and essentials for all Americans, as well as a pension, free college tuition, and a UBI of $2k ($44k today) annually.
Even if you watered this plan down to 1/10th of the scale promised, this plan would put to shame ANY progressive Democratic proposal of today.

I genuinely forget that there are Republicans/Trump Supporters on this app. I’m so used to seeing LGBT, feminist, blm, leftist stuff on here that going through a comment section and seeing people be vehemently against Harris because she’s A) a woman, B) black, and C) Democratic, gives me such whiplash. I’m not American, so American politics are already incredibly wild and insane, but to see blatant racism and just straight up misinformation (Harris was in fact NOT a cop, and she has been strongly advocating for a ceasefire for a LONG time) is just…wild

Y'all the amount of posts from "liberal" men on Reddit crying about how women are being too mean to men after the election is making me want to commit a war crime.
"Men are being radicalized by online misandry" I know man vs. bear tweets hurt your feelings but you will never be at risk of bleeding out from a miscarriage because doctors were too afraid of anti-abortion laws to save your life. You are not the victims here.

WATCH: Protesters in Raleigh dropped off letters at the state legislature Monday denouncing a post-election Republican power grab that seizes powers held by offices that Democrats won in November. Senate Bill 382 was supposed to be a hurricane relief bill for western North Carolina, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helene in September. But it mostly contains attacks on the powers held by offices like the governor, attorney general, and superintendent of public instruction — which were all won by Democrats in November’s election. It also takes oversight of elections away from the governor’s office. Demonstrators during the “Moral Monday” protest in Raleigh likened it to a “coup,” saying that it undermines the will of the voters. Gov.-elect Josh Stein has condemned the bill. So has outgoing Gov. Roy Cooper and former Gov. Pat McCrory — a Republican. Cooper vetoed the bill, but Republican lawmakers in the House are expected to consider overriding the governor’s veto Wednesday in Raleigh. Stay tuned to @cardinalandpine for updates.
