no but imagine percy who inherited his mom's beachwave brown, shoulder length hair as a kid. and all of his classmates and teachers thinking he's a girl and referring to him as such. and he doesn't correct them because he thinks it means they find him pretty. and he likes feeling pretty like his mom. then gabe makes him cut his hair in the second grade. and finds he likes the short hair and feeling handsome too. but he also really misses feeling pretty sometimes. and it isn't until after gabe mysteriously dissapears that he grows it out again and reconciles switching between both.

Wasteland baby! is the most under appreciated of the Hozier albums and truly what an album to be released just before the pandemic what a song to release before the pandemic. During an uncertain time an album about not being alone in a wasteland the way most of the songs are about devotion, to the point of fault, to the point of personal harm, to the point of manipulation, about doing everything to be with this person even when it's detrimental to you both or even when it's a person you've made up in your head, in a year when we couldn’t go out and see each other. Hozier releases an album that puts the yearning for love in the loneliness of the pandemic into words a full year before the pandemic even happened and we don’t even really talk about it and that should be a crime.

Tim and Jason — Fighting Side by Side, Complaining All the Way

Tim and Jason don’t like each other. Not really.

Jason says Tim’s too uptight, too obsessed with proving himself. Tim thinks Jason’s a walking disaster, a grenade with the pin half-out. They’d both rather chew glass than admit they care. But they do. Begrudgingly.

It’s the little things. Jason’s the first one to show up when Tim’s in over his head on patrol. He’ll grumble about it the whole time, complain that Tim’s too reckless, but the second anyone else lays a hand on him? They're done for. Tim’s the one who makes sure Jason’s safe after a mission, leaving painkillers and antiseptics where Jason will find them. No note, no explanation. Just a quiet, unspoken understanding.

They argue like it’s a sport. Sharp words, pointed insults. But there’s an undercurrent, something unsaid: No one else gets it. Jason knows what it’s like to die for the mission. To come back different. Tim knows what it’s like to feel invisible in a room full of people who are supposed to be family. Neither of them talks about it, but they don’t have to.

Dick tries too hard to keep the peace. Bruce is emotionally constipated. Damian… well, Damian is Damian. But Tim and Jason? They know each other's damage. They don't sugarcoat it.

Jason can call Tim a “replacement” with venom in his voice, but it’s Jason who pulled him out of the rubble when no one else noticed he was gone. Tim can call Jason an "angry corpse," but he’s the one who stays up researching ways to undo Lazarus Pit madness.

They say they hate each other. But when Tim’s hands are shaking after a bad night, Jason’s the one who wordlessly puts a cup of coffee in front of him. When Jason spirals, Tim’s the one who sits beside him in silence, no questions asked.

They refuse to admit they’re each other’s favorite brother. But they are. And they both despise it. And can’t live without it.

don't mind me, i'm just sitting here marinating in the fucking implication of that scene in the PILOT episode of house md where the patient is trying to understand a little better the doctor who's saving her life because he's cold and a jerk (and hasn't even bothered meeting her) but also works in an ultimately caring profession, and she picks up on the fact that wilson must be the closest thing house has to a friend the way he talks about him so confidently and asks him "is he your friend?" to which he answers "yeah" which is Already the opposite answer of which any of the other doctors in that hospital would give, and then she follows it up with "does he care about you?" to which wilson hesitates and goes with "eh i don't know. like he says, everybody lies" BUT THEN. she says, "well it's not what people say, it's what they do" and wilson thinks for a moment and fucking delivers the heaviest, most heartwarming answer that is "yeah. he cares about me" because fuck me if that doesn't establish not only the tone and the themes the entire fucking show would permiate for the next 8 seasons, but also what it would Culminate in 8 years down the road. shoot me
