I liked the new episode but man I did NOT like Kirk. Paramount, can we have Pike back? This is literally his fucking Enterprise, enough shoving Kirk on us. Wait for season five for fuck’s sake.
#star trek: strange new worlds#i just don't like how much focus they give him and steer the attention away from the main characters#especially the new characters#he got more focus than Una

the poster thingy is from Mass Effect, a Sci-fi rpg /space opera series that you might enjoy 👀 if you're interested I'd recommend getting the legendary version since the first two games can feel a little dated
Thank you!!!
I was confused because the posters looked kind of familiar and I heard the name before but never played those games. Are they similiar to the Horizon games and not too violent? Because I don't like those super brutal games.

I'm not that versed in TOS that I immediately knew the episode from the titles so I had to google, but I do think some bittersweet ending would be ideal if we can’t have a real happy end for them.
One of my all time favorite Trek episodes is TNG's The Inner Light with Picard living a second life in his mind which, even though all in his head affected him deeply, so I imagine something like that.
I don't mind SNW recontextualize TOS stuff, especially since they already have with some stuff for the better like Pike's character, and considering how that happiness Spock felt was drug induced and since we know Vulcans lie, you can take many throw-away lines from TOS Spock with a grain of salt which leaves enough room for SNW to play with.
It will be interesting to see if the show actually makes La'an the blueprint for those later romances, especially since I do see some resamblence between the look of Vulcan La'an and that female Romulan that Spock had a fling with.
The Spocklaan prolong eye-contact and silent coversations on missions saga continues:
Was it necessary for them to keep staring at each other the whole time during the beaming until the last moment? Yes, it absolutely was and I appreciate it so much.

I love sharing my pain 😈
Poor La'an as well, though this ship falls under the "it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" category for me.
And I'm still holding on hope that we could get a bittersweet ending for them. The show could pull something like The Ark did, have them experience a whole happy life together in a virtual reality or mind meld fever dream, before La'an leaves.

And now I made myself sad by thinking this could very well be foreshadowing, that La'an will "disappear", symbolized with the beaming away here, and leave Spock behind on the Enterprise...
