Crime from young and the systems behind it
With crime seemingly worse in generation z because of drill and a glorification of violence in todays youths. The government and parents have an out on what to blame the outcomes of their children’s poor choices. The argument that ‘violent music’ is the root cause of spawning criminals is as misinterpreted as ‘video games’ cause violence. Down to the core the decision to cause crime is based off what people’s capabilities are, how they were raised to react in their environment and what they deem normal. A group named zone 2 as seen above are among the example of a gang being bred from area beef and believing they are safe in others. A lifestyle they themselves use music to escape.
On estates such as the Brandon estate in south east and Broadwater farm estate, early on sets of criminal lifestyles take form. Much like water the poorer sides of England adapt to their environment and adopt routines others may see as extraordinary. Poverty ridden areas especially breed people capable of doing drug dealing, murder and robbery, so the upper-class side of England want many to think. Without money, their facilities not being as functional or up to date societies living in these conditions are stricken with depression and desperation.
The biggest fear for many is going to prison, when in desperate need of an escape and environments full of crime being by your side it is easy to end up in prison. Many young offenders start from before fifteen and grow accustom to coming in and out. The modern way of dressing in tracksuits leads to unnecessary stop and searches. After having a certain label on you for how you are perceived, many times it is easy to play the part and end up with a future spent in prison. The system, corrupt and faulty in many areas strips young people’s confidence swaying them from attempting to follow a better path.
The biggest factor in what makes a criminal or decides the outcome for many, is the home life they grow up around as it determines the type of life they will accept. Growing up in a richer house, happier family and being spoiled heavily differs from fighting wage to wage or no parents at all. Violence in households, taking on the appearance of domestics can shape the witnesses into more volatile or on edge men or women. Abuse that goes further can change their self esteem levels or make them think its okay to shoplift every now and again. For the future of the next generation children must grow in loving houses and be taught right from wrong.
Education has and will continue to set young people on the right path. Whether that be going to college, finishing GCSE’s or going to university it can make the difference in opportunity and lifestyle. With a high percentage of criminals dropping out of school, it is encouraged to stay in and chase careers instead of quick cash. Only the person can decide which they want more.
