This is actually really interesting case. He had the police department in his pocket and would abduct and “marry” girls under 14 in at least 3 confirmed cases. He shot at or murdered several witnesses to his crimes and was out on bail for attempted murder of a shop keeper he shot in the neck. The shop keeper had scolded one of his 14 year old ‘girlfriends’ for shoplifting some candy.
The town saw him and a mob attacked his car and ‘someone’ shot him dead.
Those other “unsolved” cases … were allegedly KEN.
It’s a horror story but a different kind.
Does any horror story about small towns capture the vibe more horrifyingly than this paragraph on Wikipedia

This small farming community is known for its mob killing, its unsolved murders, its unsolved disappearances, and the annual pumpkin festival

telling my literary agent my project is like “Studio Ghibli meets the Legend of Zelda” before they open their mouth and a torrent of a million tiny knives shoot out at me, perforating my body endlessly and turning me into oozing Swiss cheese

"I don't advocate for violence-" I do. Kill him
I don't advocate violence, but EVERY SINGLE employee still at Twitter has an opportunity to do the funniest thing in history this March 15.

Another good case in point: Akku Yakav, an Indian gangster who spent so long raping and murdering the women of Kastbura Nagpur without consequence that they decided to take matters into their own hands.

news reporting on murders is always like ‘the victim was described by the people who knew them as polite and funny’ like yeah i fucking bet they did what else are they gonna say. breaking news local man stabbed 1000 times to death, grieving friends and family described the deceased to reporters as ‘a bit of a cunt’, ‘mean and bad’ and ‘just generally kind of annoying, you know?’

Today, Laura, Krysta and Dean visit the small farming town of Skidmore, Missouri. Picture this, you live in a small farming community and one of your neighbors is a thief and a known bully. He has been tried 20 times and has never been convicted. He intimidates witnesses by following them home or parking in front of their house. He intimidates others to lie on his behalf as 'witnesses'...and he shoots the owner of the local grocery store. The store owner survives and finally, the bully is convicteed of assault, but allowed to bond out while he awaits his appeal and loudly threatens the store owner to anyone who would listen. Then picture that bully climbing behind the wheel of his truck only for several people to fire weapons with two bullets striking and killing him. No one is ever accused or arrested in his killing. That is the story of Ken Rex McElroy, the bully of Skidmore, Missouri in a story you will have to hear to believe in the latest edition of the Family Plot Podcast!

im thinking about Ford coming back and asking questions about the news stories that were popping when he was pushed through the portal
Like, one day he just asks everyone, "by the way, did they ever figure out who shot Ken Rex McElroy in '82? I read a rolling stones article about it once and it's been on my mind for 30 years."

answer to that ken rex mcelroy's murder post : he was a pedophilic racist abuser, amonst other, pettier crimes, who kept paying off ppl and having too many connections to get in trouble. his murder was said to have been a unanimous decision by the people after a town hall meeting LMAO
That is so fucking funny. Not his crimes, obviously, but the fact that he was so bad that the folks at a town hall said "Okay, we just straight-up need to kill this guy." and they DID!
