Star Shanties at PARF 2024

Geeky folk at its finest (as is to be expected of music written by Arthur Rowan), the Star Shanties project is not simply music about Star Wars: these are songs that could exist within the world of Star Wars. Each of the songs has lore, not all of which is relayed within the show. Full lore/flavor-text can be found in the video descriptions on the Twin Suns Entertainment YouTube channel, along with lyrics and the earlier versions of the songs.

Time presses, and I have done naught to this footage and audio besides the fades at either end (and the patching of the third set). Please be aware that I cheer VERY loudly and somewhat shrilly throughout the first set; and there is hecking surrounding noise in the second set, as well as sunlight shenanigans (which I'd probably have left in anyway, for artistic reasons).

Painting how I see music has been one of my favourite projects lately. It's an excellent creative challenge to translate what I see in my head into my style of art! The green swoops around the outside definitely turned out more leaf-y than I had intended (I was aiming for firework-y), but I'm still very happy with it overall!

My little sister has delightfully pointed out that Wouldn't You Like from the Epic soundtrack is very much in line with Artagan and Jester's dynamic. Every time we play that song she does her best impression of Jester while I try to do Artagan's voice and we sing it together.

My Handsome Assistant, some friends, and I try to go to at least one Renaissance Faire every year — usually the MD or PA Ren Faire. If you’re not familiar with them (they seem to mostly be an American thing), Ren Faires are basically big mostly-outdoor markets, made to look like a Tudor era village. There’s food, entertainment, and people often like to wear loosely Renaissance or fantasy-inspired…
