Harry Potter Broadway! AU: Cast and Crew reactions to their roles
*All understudies are put with the people they understudy for*
Leads:
James: Super pumped to play Sweeney, any chance to be incredibly dramatic, def wants all of the attention
Remus: Glad to be James' understudy, probably would have preferred to be in crew though, memorized every line in play
Molly Weasley: Initially apprehensive about the dark theme of Mrs. Lovett and the play in general, but embraced the role perfectly
Bellatrix Lestrange: Incredibly jealous of Molly, tried to make Molly sick one night
Harry Potter: Didn't like playing Anthony at first, but eventually grew to love it
Dean Thomas: Didn't really care about his role, just happy to be apart of the play
Luna Lovegood: Made some strange metaphor when she found out, liked her role
Fleur Delacour: Absolutely offended she got understudy at first, but agreed Luna made and excellent Johanna
Severus Snape: Was satisfied with getting Judge Turpin, plays him so well most can't tell when he's in and out of character
Albus Dumbledore: Didn't exactly like the idea of potentially playing the villain of the play
Peter Petigrew: Was absolutely thrilled when he got cast as The Beedle, was paranoid that his understudy was trying to take him out of the picture
Sheamus Finnigan: Spent a good amount of time memorizing his pats, but had no intention of injuring Peter
Sirius Black: Absolutely thrilled to be cast as Pirelli, definitely goofs off with James during their scenes and makes the most of his stage time by being as dramatic as possible
Regulus Black: Furious he was cast as the understudy for his big brother, tried to get Sirius out of the way by causing an allergic reaction
Filius Flitwick: Tried to switch places in his role as Toby with his understudy, but was unsuccessful
Ron Weasley: Simply wanted to run lights, has declined over 40 offers from Flitwick to switch places
Crews:
Bill, Fred and George Weasley: Twins were thrilled to be on tech crew, Bill was put on tech as an attempt to control them, it did not work
Arthur Weasley: Nervous about being tech director and having to direct his kids
Neville Longbottom: Had some anxiety about being a choreographer, but soon started to enjoy it
Hermione Granger: Incredibly happy to be the casting director, deeply study every character to get the casting right
Charlie Weasley: Hated being costume manager at first but soon began to tolerate it
Lavender Brown, Parvati, Padma Patil, and Evan Rosier: All were excited to work in costumes, Evan started to become a mini-manager, but got them all to work efficiently
Oliver Wood: Was excited to be the set designer, definitely has a secret talent for art and design
Rubius Hagrid, Firenze and Ginny Weasley: Ginny took charge as a set carpenter, Hagrid was happy to help but sets and found it fun, Firenze helped carried stuff with his back
Percy Weasley: absolutely pumped about being stage manager, loves to boss people about during rehearsal, the twins definitely amped up their pranks on Percy
Ensemble (Garrick Ollivander, Viktor Krum, Rolanda Hooch, Stan Shunpike, Rufus Scrimgeour, Madam Maxime, Dorcas Medows, Pansy Parkinson, Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Andromeda Black, Barty Crouch Jr., Pandora Wesia, Argus Filch, Marleene McKinnon, Lily Evans, Mundungus Fletcher, Silvanus Kettleburn, Dolores Umbridge, Minerva McGonagall): Most were all okay with getting placed into the ensemble, except the Malfoy's, Draco especially, complained for weeks about 'stupid Potter' got a main character instead of him, Viktor ducktaped his mouth shut for an hour

Remus Lupin x fem!reader
"I'd rather not see you at all."
"You'd miss me."
based on a request.
warnings: banter, probably fluff, my writing
8.1k
author's note: i dont know how i feel about this but enjoy. english is not my first language so beware <3
You stood on your feet, staring dead into the brown eyes before you. You weren't even aware of your frown, but you were sure you didn't look happy. His mocking eyes were eliciting you, sending waves of rage down your chest.
"How about you two sit together?" James asked, smiling with his eyes.
You reminded yourself that your anger wasn't aimed at James but rather at his tall and vexatious friend. Thus, instead of snapping at him, you sent him a mere warning glare.
"Or you can just fight. That'll work," James shrugged and turned around.
Your eyes averted back to Remus, who had slouched behind your desk–the same desk you had been sitting behind for years.
"That is my seat, Lupin."
He didn't budge at all, keeping on staring at you.
"I didn't see your name on it."
You pinched the bridge of your nose. This boy was going to be the end of you.
"Remus," you said, "I've sat there last year and the year before that, please go find yourself another desk."
"It's a new school year, though, is it not? Make a change."
He must be testing your patience, which was at its limit. The lesson was about to start and yet you were still on your feet.
You blamed Remus for that.
The desk he had been resting behind was yours. You didn't need to write your name on it, everyone knew it was yours. For six years of Transfiguration, you had been sitting there, listening or sometimes disturbing the class with James and Sirius. It had a nice view of the board and could hide you well if needed.
Thus, you had always sat behind Pads and Prongs while Remus sat…
Well, you didn't know where he sat, but it was definitely not next to you.
"Miss Y/L/N, sit down please."
You closed your eyes for a moment when you heard Professor McGonagall's stern tone. With a quick glance around, it was obvious that you were the only one standing. So after a sharp exhale, you sat down next to Remus.
"Wanker."
Remus let out a derisive hum.
This. This was what would drive you crazy. This was what would make you want to strangle the boy, burn the body and get away with murder. That mocking, jeering and pleased hum.
James and Sirius would always tease you for not getting along with one person that anyone could get along with. Always fighting and bantering with one person that anyone could have a proper conversation with.
The problem was that they weren't exactly wrong.
You always witnessed how Remus was kind and gentle with everyone, rendering it absolutely impossible to bicker with him. He would smile and nod, easing his way out of every dilemma. He wouldn't pick a fight, and certainly wouldn't provoke anyone.
Except you.
With you, he was acting like a moronic person. Or that's what you thought.
When you were little, he would pull your braids in the mornings, but would mumble a quick 'I liked your hair today' in the evenings.
When you were famished for breakfast, he would grab the last waffle before you could, leaving you frowning with an aching hunger, but then leave bars of chocolate on your books during class breaks.
When you would be studying with the Marauders and couldn't cast a spell, he would smirk and mock your ineptness but would seek you out before the exam and explain how to move your wrist better than any professor could.
He would never disrespect you, but wouldn't let you stay sane throughout the day, either.
Lost between his inconsistent behaviours, you would find yourself confused, overthinking every tiny interaction to fathom if he cared for you or not. You would often decide on the latter.
For the sake of the other boys, you would ignore his gall and cheekiness. Although you had moments of outbursts, which would eventually lead to a bigger fight, you had managed to keep the problem under control so far.
"Miss, Y/L/N?"
You jerked your head up, finding the source of your name. McGonagall was piercing through you with her icy eyes, almost judging you for not listening, without voicing anything.
"Yes, professor?"
"Answer the question."
What question?
She asked a question?
You parted your lips, shuffling useless facts or overlooked memories in your mind to stumble upon the right one.
You felt one second drew out to one minute, or maybe it was simply your anxiety. Embarrassment was making its way under your skin with every second- or minute?
You were starting to sweat as your body was on fire.
"Levicorpus," Remus whispered under his mouth.
Not wasting a second, you repeated the word, earning a nod from the Professor. She turned away, carrying on with the lesson.
"What was the question?" you asked the boy. He didn’t bother to look at you.
"Pay attention next time."
“James, it’s a terrible, horrible, and incredibly foolish idea.”
You were dawdling around in the yard, enjoying the weather while you could. With the chill breeze mingling around your hair, nothing could ruin your peace. That is until the Marauders entered the scene.
“Exactly. That’s why we should do it.”
Being friends with James and Sirius was hard, especially if you’re the only one with common sense. Who would believe making a firework explosion in the middle of the Great Hall would earn them a ball to celebrate Christmas?
James and Sirius.
“We need to call Dumbledore’s attention. Bring it right up to the headmaster, or it won’t work,” Sirius backed up his friend. You ignored Remus’s scoff-like laugh.
“Your worry is that if you bomb up the Great Hall in front of any other professor except Dumbledore you won’t get a ball?”
“See, now you’re getting it-”
“What makes you think you will get a ball?”
James stopped walking, put his hands on each side of his waist in disappointment, and frowned.
“Now, you’re just repeating Moony.”
You glanced at Remus, who was staring at you with blank and tired eyes. This boy really needed to sleep, but that was another day’s problem. Your eyes lingered a bit longer on his attire before returning to James; tawny jumper with black lines and ivory trousers under a pastel orange trench coat.
“Rare moment of your Moony using his common sense,” you shrugged. “You know you’ll get a huge detention, right?”
“What else is new?” James smirked. “Are you gonna help us?”
The prospect of a ball during Christmas did entertain you. Fancy dresses and music, all while carousing with your friends was something no teenager would reject. And you knew if things wouldn’t go as planned, Marauders wouldn’t acknowledge your involvement; that was an agreement between the four boys even Remus had honoured. So you agreed to help them.
They made you regret it a few moments later in the Gryffindor common room.
“I’m not working with Remus.” you shook your head intently, wearing a displeased expression.
“Oh come on! Why not?” James pleaded. “You two are the best at Charms! You just need to figure out how to charm the fireworks to act how we want them to. Pete will get them and hide them, while Pads and I will handle transforming them into letters.”
“Because last time we worked on something together, it blew right in our faces.” you point at Remus with your hand. “I got zero when I could’ve got the best point available.”
“Wasn’t the potion perfect? Professor gave you a zero because you wouldn’t stop bickering,” Peter said. “It was very distracting.”
You cringed at the memory. Your hard work had held no value only for a little (or not so little) quarrel with your partner. The only nice outcome was that they rarely partnered you two together anymore.
Remus was slouched on the couch, legs apart with one hand placed on his thigh, while the other held a book. He lowered his book to look at your discontented face.
“I’m not happy about it either, yet you don’t see me whinging.”
You winced at him in aversion.
“I’d rather not see you at all.”
“You’d miss me,” he tilted his head, wearing a feigned smile.
James clapped his hands to prevent another incoming tiff.
“Alright, you two will start your research when you see fit and keep us updated. Don’t drag it out until November though, it’s a bit of a complicated matter.”
By the time a month had passed, you had figured that irritation was like a bunch of thorns piercing through your skin thanks to Remus. You had also learned that you can murder someone by spoon, but why would anyone bother themselves with shoving the spoon down Remus’s throat?
Therefore, you had been sitting with Remus every week, halting yourself from stabbing him with your quill. He wasn’t helping you out at all.
“Stop hitting my arm,” you whisper-shouted once more. Was Remus Lupin thick-headed? He didn’t look like it, so he probably just enjoyed getting a reaction out of you.
“What is your arm’s business next to mine? Sit properly.”
“Remus, If you haven’t noticed, you’re tall–”
“Thank you.”
“I didn’t mean it as a compliment, shut up,” your head snapped in his direction, facing his smug grin. “You’re taking much more space than me.”
“Well, sorry for you.”
“You’re distracting me from my studies.”
“You’re doodling right now,” he pointed to the paper before you with his brows. “And miserably failing, if I may add.”
“No, you may not–”
“Is that supposed to be a rabbit?” he inclined his head an inch more to the paper. You smelled his shampoo from his hair, crisp and woodsy and; the brown locks were so close you wanted to run your hand through them to see if they were real.
“That’s clearly a cat.”
“Why does your cat have two paws?”
“She’s sitting!”
“You really suck at this,” he propped his head back, offering you a pitiful look.
“Oh, and you’re rocking?”
“Ten points from Gryffindor, Miss Y/L/N,” you flinched at your name from McGonagall.
“But professor, Lupin–”
“One more distraction and I will make it twenty.”
You clenched your jaw shut and lowered your head, letting embarrassment swallow you whole as all Gryffindor students sent you scrutinising glares. Of course, you would be the unlucky one that would get picked by the professor, not Remus, who was provoking you in the first place.
So, until the end of the class, you kept your head low and zoned out with your doodles.
You drew a circle, but it was more like a sun in your mind. Or the moon. You didn’t remember.
You drew ears for the moon, and it seemed like two triangles stuck to a circle, but you didn’t mind that either.
You even took some notes of the lesson but then you scribbled something that’s supposed to be a lamp or a cactus on them, so they weren’t very readable in the end.
You only snapped out of it when the unusual noise rioted, signalling that the class was dismissed. You had spent an hour doing nothing; an amazing use of time.
Remus pushed a parchment on your art pieces, covering them. You didn’t see what was scrawled on the parchment as Remus’s hand had blocked the ink.
“I do rock,” he said before heading out of the classroom.
You stared after him as he disappeared behind the door. You thought he would be in the library as you lifted the parchment.
It was a sketch of you from the side.
You took the red velvet cookie in your hand, examining it for any trace of poison. They seemed perfectly fine, delicious even. What was troubling you was that they were a treat from James. Thus, there was no way you could get good-looking, appetising, tasty cookies without a headache.
“Have you two started your research?”
That was it. You had a headache.
Therefore, you deserved the cookies. You took three of them in your hand and threw yourself next to Sirius. You turned to lock eyes with Remus, all while nibbling on your sweet.
You noticed him looking at you and then your hands and then...your lips? You immediately pushed the thought deep into your mind, not indulging it even a second. No, he was probably staring at the cookie next to your lips.
Unconsciously, you put the sweet down and arched a brow at him.
“Not yet,” he said without breaking eye contact with you.
You heard James groan and used it as an excuse to avert your eyes, but you could still feel his brown gaze set your body aflame. You couldn’t quite figure out if it was his hatred or something else that you refused to voice that was burning through you. You didn’t dwell on it.
“You’re waiting for Christmas Eve to do it?”
“Prongs is right, Pick a time and do your homework, lads,” Sirius agreed. “Pete is done already.”
“It’s hard to mentally prepare yourself for Remus,” you said, mouth half full.
“Don’t talk your mouth full, it’s disgusting.”
“You haven’t seen yourself eating, have you?”
“Here we go again,” James complained. “Just go to the bloody library and find the spells, will ya?”
Remus stood up, and strode up next to you, towering over you. You stared at him like he was a crazy person, which he was in your opinion.
“Let’s go,” he said.
“Now?”
“Yes, you have things to do?”
You didn’t have things to do. In fact, your only to-do list for today was eating red velvet cookies. That’s why you didn’t know why you were hesitant to go and be alone with Remus. You didn’t know why your heart started to pick a race, either.
“I’m…” You looked around, seeking an excuse that you knew didn’t exist. “Eating cookies?”
Remus grabbed the cookie jar. “You’ll eat them on our way to the library.”
All four boys were looking at you expectantly, so you hopped on your feet. You didn’t bother to take the jar from Remus.
“Don’t sulk, Y/N, it’s for the greater good!” You heard Sirius call after you.
You exited the common room, went down the stairs and hastened to the library. You didn’t look back for Remus; you knew he was there. You could feel his presence.
You didn’t question how he had managed to get the cookie jar in when you entered the library and he placed it on a table. You simply turned to the books, chasing their titles with your finger.
“What are we exactly looking for?”
“Something that will charm the fireworks to act how we want,” Remus mumbled, too focused on the book titles. You noticed him examining the shelves that you had passed because of your height. It both irritated and tingled you the way he effortlessly could reach the top shelves.
“And how do we want them to act?”
“Fly around in order, not the way they fly around usually.”
You hummed and didn’t engage in anything more. Taking a cookie from the jar, you started reading and digging into all sorts of books.
How to charm your brush to comb your hair?
Not the one you've been looking for but sounded nice, you should look it up some other time.
Charms to take revenge on the ones that wronged you.
Would Remus get suspicious if you picked that one? You should look that one up too, next time.
Charms for cheating in the exam.
Why did a school shelter a book like this?
Charms for celebrations.
You smiled, looking up at the red-covered book. If there was a celebration, then there certainly would be fireworks.
You stretched out your hand to take the book, but your fingers only brushed its spine.
You climbed on your tiptoes, trying again. This time you could feel the engraved title letters on the spine. But other than that, to no avail.
A heft and warmth, that didn’t belong to you, stroke your body. Your skin reacted faster than you did. You felt the surge of an unfamiliar heat and shivers under your skin, unable to fathom the hand on your hand.
You turned your head back, almost bumping it into Remus's chin. He wasn't looking at you, but you could see his clenched jaw and stiffened shoulders. The close proximity was suffocating, or maybe your breath had hitched. Either way, you held your breath.
Remus grabbed the red book, stepped back and started skimming it.
"You're starting,” he said.
It took you longer than usual to react to him.
"I found the book first," you said after recovering from the sudden and uncharacteristic surge of heat. You hoped your face wasn't flustered.
"Why didn't you take it first then?"
He was mocking your height difference, and it didn’t annoy you this time. It did, however, make you conscious of your heart’s rhythm.
"I was close. You interrupted me."
Remus looked up from the book, a teasing smile gleaming on his lips.
"The only thing you were close to was hitting your head on the shelf."
You frown, being absolutely free of his previous effect on you. You snatched the book out of his hand and sat behind the table. You didn't raise your head when Remus stood in front of you and over your head, with his arms placed on the table.
You focused on the ink, forgetting Remus’s suffocating presence. That’s why you didn’t want to be left alone with him.
After a few minutes and lines or pages, your eyes twinkled with mischief. Two pages of instruction on different ways of charming fireworks.
"Found it."
The easy part was done.
You let Remus take the book from you. He read the page with a wrinkle between his brows and nodded after finishing it.
“We’ll have to start practising it soon.”
“Have some pity, I exceeded my weekly tolerance of you, today,” you murmured. “I can’t spend any more time with you.”
“And what made you think that I enjoyed our time together?” Remus stepped a bit back and leaned into a shelf.
You parted your lips and then closed them again. Time had gone rather unproblematic with Remus today, and ended without a headache. It was almost...boring.
“You never even once did something to annoy me.”
His lips curved, eyes gleaming in amusement.
“Do you want me to annoy you?”
You hated the teasing in his tone. Something between confusion and disclosure hit you in the gut, goosebumps rose in your arm as a response to your fluttering heart.
“What? No, why would I–”
“Do you enjoy bickering with me, Y/N?”
“I don’t!"
“You sure? Sometimes it sounds like you’re picking fights with me on purpose.”
“You flatter yourself, Lupin,” you laughed, a bit awkwardly. He was smiling now, one step away from smirking. You noticed you rarely saw him smile this big around you. It was beautiful.
“Just like you said, I wasn’t the one annoying you today. You started it.”
You felt the temperature rise in your body, embracing you without your consent. You didn’t appreciate the way he threw the accusations at you or the way his eyes wrinkled adorably when he beamed.
“You’re not the only one hating the other.”
Your lips uttered the words but you didn’t hear yourself. You were too busy to stare at his changing expressions. His smile ebbed a little, but not enough to wipe the soft wrinkles around his eyes. He walked up to you, excruciatingly slow, looming over you. You watched his eyes rambling between your eyes, and even travelling to your lips, too. Your eyes, however, stayed only on the brown orbs, sorting out every layer, every colour, every blemish one by one.
“I don’t hate you,” you heard him drawl.
Before you could take in what he murmured, his face changed into something else. You fathomed it from the twitch in his jaw and his faltering blinks.
“You’re just annoying,” he said as if recovering his tone.
He stepped back, eyes lingering on your lips for one more second before turning away. You bit down your lips as you watched him exit the library.
“I brought candles,” you announced, tossing the candles to the wooden floor. They made an uncomfortably loud thud on the ground, causing you to grimace in displeasure.
“Yes, please make sure to break all of them. Don’t leave one unharmed,” you rolled your eyes at Remus’s cynical voice in the other corner of the Requirement Room.
You two have been visiting there to learn the charm of the fireworks every week. For two weeks, you had been working with the sticks and had mastered them. Thus, it was time to finally alter the sticks with candles, something that resembled a firework according to Sirius. They didn’t want to work on fireworks, it would be a waste for James.
“They’re fine. Don’t be dramatic,” you said to him as he walked up to you, glancing at the candles on the floor.
You felt him squat down, grabbing a white candle. He showed you a crack on it that wasn’t there before.
“It was there before.”
“Yeah, sure,” he grinned. “What’s with the colours?”
You shrugged. Why choose only white candles when you could have red and yellow and purple and pink also?
“Don’t mind the colours. Let’s start.”
Remus lit a candle as you took out your wand. He placed it on a chair, and stepped back, waiting for you to cast the spell.
When you first muttered the incantation, nothing happened.
You tried again, this time more fiercely both in your spelling and movements.
Nothing happened, The candle was sitting on the chair, mocking you with its flame. You were sure Remus was also repeating the same internally.
“You’re too hesitant to bend your wrist,” he said.
You didn’t hear any teasing in his voice but still cringed in embarrassment.
“You won’t put out the candle if you bend your wrist a bit hard, Y/N. Stop hesitating,” he said again.
You tried once more, despite the sweat forming on your temple from anxiety.
With sticks, it was easy. Say the spell, bend the wrist and aim the wand.
With candles, you were afraid you would mess it up somehow; maybe put out the fire or even start a bigger fire. It was a fire, after all, it was dangerous.
When you failed again, Remus made his way to you, standing only a step away behind you.
You felt his breath behind your neck as he closed that one step, laying his body onto yours. You didn’t manage to ask him what he was doing, you didn’t need to. Your heart dropped when he put his hand on yours, lifting it in the air. He aimed it towards the candle, but you were too out of it to apprehend.
Your whole body was focused on his skin on yours, savouring his touch on you without your permission. Suddenly, you didn’t think the sweat was from anxiety. You didn’t think your heartbeats were from embarrassment. You didn’t think your whole body was aflame because you were conscious of your ineptness.
You knew what it was. You knew what it was that set fires in the core of your chest, grasped the air from your lungs, and took the strength in your muscles away.
But you didn’t acknowledge it.
You let Remus move your arm, copying the instructions. You let him brush your hand with his fingers. You let him show you how to bend your wrist all while his hand on yours. You let him whisper the incantation in your ear.
You felt the void around your fingers when he withdrew his hand and his body from yours.
“Go on,” he said, so low you wouldn’t hear him if you weren’t holding your breath.
You aimed the wand, bent your wrist, and cast the spell.
The candle rose to the air, attracting a few candles to itself and lighting them up.
“Attagirl. My turn."
You said nothing as you stepped away, letting Remus place himself in front of the chair. You lighted another candle for him and put it on the chair.
You watched him take a stance and aim his wand. You didn’t know if it was because of his stance or his long legs or arms, but he looked…handsome.
He looked handsome with his serious expression; wrinkled brows, clenched jaw, stiff shoulders and narrowed eyes.
Heck, he looked handsome with his smiling expression too; curled-up pink lips, brown locks decorating his forehead, chestnut eyes glistening as his smile.
You cursed yourself at your admission.
He cast the spell, succeeding with the first attempt. The side of his lip inched up with pride for a tiny second.
You did it. You were ready for the plan. The only thing left was James and Sirius’s work.
He turned his eyes to yours.
“We did it.”
“Yes,” you nodded and got to collect the candles.
Remus frowned, visibly uncomfortable at something.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“What?”
You refused to glance at him. You didn’t want to admit anything else just because his ridiculous gorgeousness affected you.
“Something’s wrong. You’re acting weird.”
“How am I acting weird? I’m just cleaning up the mess so we can go and eat.”
“Yeah, but,” he started helping you out by gathering the unused candles, “You’re a bit–”
“I didn’t know you cared about me,” you snapped your head in his direction.
He stopped whatever he was doing. You saw him swallow.
“I don’t.”
“Good.”
You almost threw your candles at him.
“I’m going to dinner.”
You didn’t wait for him. As you exited the room, you reminded yourself that he thought of you as annoying.
“Stop panicking.”
“I’m not panicking!” You wiped your palms on your cloak, counting to ten to calm your nervousness.
“Yeah, sure, that’s why your breath is unsteady.”
“Why are you even focused on my breath?”
You frowned when Remus didn’t reply.
It was a big day. In the end, you'll either end up dreaming about your ball dress or worrying about the detention.
James and Sirius were in the Great Hall, hidden under the Invisibility Cloak. They were waiting for your charmed fireworks as you and Remus were waiting for Peter to bring them behind the gate.
Everyone was busy eating their dinner, like a casual evening. Chatters and clatters were mingling in the air, serving you an opportunity for secrecy.
Remus was standing next to you–a bit close, as your arms were glued together. His eyes were on the corner where James and Sirius were, as your eyes should be looking for Peter.
Except that you weren't looking for Peter.
No matter how much you wanted to prevent it, your eyes were drawn to Remus.
For the last fifteen days, it had been this way. You would look for Remus in every corner, and your heart would chirp like a bird when you would find him. You would start agitating him so maybe he would react, and wouldn’t back down when he would annoy you first.
Even now, you couldn’t help but steal secret peeks at him. Sharp jawline and unblemished face despite the scars were completed with downy hair and hazel eyes.
He was stunning and you were attracted to him. Your five-years-ago self would roll her eyes at you if she was to see you. You were attracted to him despite his annoyance with you, and your pride hated you for that.
You were sure if Remus knew your newly emerging feeling for him, he would mock you to the point you cried.
You turned your head away from Remus when you heard heavy step voices. Peter was bringing a box full of fireworks, trying to be as discreet as possible in the meantime. You stepped up and helped him. He nodded at you before entering the Great Hall like a starved boy whose only intention was to have dinner.
You pulled Remus’s sleeve and he turned to you. You heard him mumble ‘right’ under his breath before taking out his wand. You repeated the same, waiting for him to sort out the fireworks.
“We’ll do it at the same time, remember. Or James won’t be able to Accio all of them at once.”
You nodded, aiming your wand all while alerting your senses to Remus’s voice. Between all the noise from the Great Hall, he had to raise his tone from whispers.
“One. Two. Three.”
Both of you cast the spell. You made sure to bend your wrist this time. Two of the fireworks lit up and attracted other fireworks to themselves. Remus sent James the signal.
Seconds passed, but the fireworks weren’t Accio’d anywhere.
You waited a bit more, glancing at Remus to see him do the same with a frown.
Another few seconds passed.
Nothing.
It was getting dangerous. You couldn’t be near them. They were about to blow up.
You squirmed close to the wall, adrenalin filling up your veins and piercing your heart. Remus was sending the signal over and over again but to no avail.
You wanted to run but your legs were glued to the ground, not even managing to help your standing let alone running. You winced as the firework got close to blowing by a second.
One more second and it was going to explode right in your faces.
One.
You felt Remus’s body on yours, pushing you hard to the wall, almost squeezing you with his torso. His arms held your sides as you leaned into him, clenching your eyes shut.
You waited for the big hit.
But it never came.
Remus raised his head from yours, checking around.
Fireworks weren’t there.
Just when you moved to get away from Remus’s hold, blaring cracks emerged in the air. You let out a scream, thinking it came from near you. Remus squeezed your arms, snapping his head to you.
“Bloody hell, Y/N, my ears just bled.”
You looked around frantically, still standing between Remus and the wall. Your eyes averted back to Remus when you saw the real firework art was going on in the Great Hall. The fireworks were forming letters.
Chatters had turned into cheers, screams of excitement and joy echoing in your ears. You felt the colours of the fireworks on the walls, halls, your clothes and Remus’s body.
Remus’s body, which was too close to yours.
“Sorry,” you uttered, gazing into the depth of his brown.
“You alright?” he asked low, not letting you out of his grasp.
“Yeah, yeah,” you nodded. “You?”
“I’m alright.”
“Good.”
“Good,” he drawled, repeating to you.
His hands around your biceps were now burning up your skin. He was supposed to let you go now. Let you go and put a distance between your bodies.
Your heart cried at the thought of space. You begged and hoped and prayed that he wouldn’t loosen his grip.
You started counting seconds. He didn’t let go.
His stare at you darkened, breathing getting heavier by the second.
Your eyes lowered to his lips. They looked both soft and chapped. He parted his lips.
You looked back into his eyes. They were piercing through you, welcoming thoughts in your head that you so desperately shunned. You felt his touch on your skin tighten.
You yearned for his touch not only on your arm but every inch of your body.
You reminded yourself that he was annoyed by you.
You didn’t blink. You didn’t inhale. You didn’t exhale.
You put your hands on his face and crashed your lips onto his.
The butterflies inside you resonated with the fireworks inside the Great Hall. Your heart quivered at the feeling of his lips on yours. Your chest flamed up in lust, your body smiled when you felt Remus’s hands wander to your back.
He kissed you back, welcoming the passion to run free in your veins.
You arched your back just to have him closer. You felt his slips stretch into a smirk, his fingers digging into your skin.
You kissed him harder.
His heavy breaths mingled with yours, hovering over your face. Your whole body shivered under his silky lips, sheltering the heat of your chest under his touch. His hands covered every inch of your body, learning it by heart. The heft of your lust drowned under the intensity of his manoeuvres.
Your heads were up in the clouds, unaware of anything going down around you.
You forgot where you were. You forgot what you were doing. You forgot why you were doing what you were doing. The dark in your eyes leaked shadows in your mind, blackening every thought.
That is until three boys intervened.
You pushed Remus away, putting the distance you so despised between you two. You pushed your lips together in an attempt to hide their red and swollen state. You ignored the cry of your lips, body, heart and soul for Remus’s caress.
“WE DID IT! WE’RE GOING TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH A BALL!”
You grinned at James and let the boys have their celebration. You didn’t cast a glance at Remus. You didn’t see him not taking his eyes off of yours for even a second.
It was Friday. The last Transfiguration class before the well-deserved ball.
You were seated behind your desk, definitely not waiting for Remus.
You two hadn’t talked about the kiss since it happened. Hell, you hadn’t even talked to each other properly.
You might be ignoring him a little bit.
You were leaving the room when he was entering, going to sleep when he was approaching you, and being busy when he was trying to talk to you.
You might be ignoring him not so little bit.
Your leg was bouncing up and down, and you were fighting with your urge to not check the door every ten seconds. You hadn't quite figured out how you were feeling, but you knew it was something intense that your hands were freezing not because of the winter but because of the nervousness.
The same nervousness that made your mouth run dry when you saw Remus enter the classroom. The same nervousness that made you breathe quicker and feel dizzy when you felt Remus sit down next to you. The same nervousness that turned yanked the colours out of your face when you heard him talk.
“Will you run again if I open my mouth?”
“You just did,” you say, trying to sound as casual as you could. You weren’t facing him just the way he wasn’t facing you.
“And you didn’t run.”
“I didn’t.”
“Good,” he nodded. “You’ve been ignoring me.”
“No?”
His head snapped at you, forcing you to turn to him as well.
“Don’t mock me, Y/N,” he warned, irritated.
“I’m not mocking you, Remus. I’m just–”
“What did I do wrong?” he cut you off. “Tell me.”
Your heart skipped a bit at his question, clenching around a pain that you wished to ignore.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I don’t understand,” he frowned. “ You kissed me. So, I’m guessing you wanted it.”
You didn’t reply, too busy reliving the whimsical moment that had been keeping you awake at night, attacking your heart with butterflies.
“You did want it, right?”
“Yes,” you snapped back to the moment. “Yes, I did.”
“Then tell me what I did wrong and maybe I can rectify it,” he said. “Tell me what I did that you’re ignoring me.”
You didn’t know what to tell him.
You couldn’t tell him that you were running from him because you were too embarrassed to look him in the eye and admit that you were attracted to him. You couldn’t tell him that you were still figuring out what you were feeling, too afraid to get your heart broken.
You couldn’t tell him that despite your fears and doubts, you were still yearning for the sound of his laugh and craving the touch of his skin on your skin. You couldn’t tell him that there wasn't a moment in which your mind could offer you any other thought than him.
So you told him the first thing that came to your mind.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. It was me. I shouldn’t have kissed you.”
Remus looked appalled, eyebrows furrowing.
“What?”
“It was a mistake.”
“A mistake?”
“Yes.”
He laughed bitterly, shaking his head.
“We both know it wasn’t a mistake. Stop lying to yourself.”
“I-I just don’t think it’s a good idea for us to–”
“I’m not asking you to marry me.”
“I know!” you said, losing your temper for a second. “I know, Remus. I’m just not sure about...well, everything.”
You watched him inhale deeply, contemplating something in his mind. You wished to know what was going on in his head but didn’t ask.
“We can, uh,” he started, “We can try to be friends.”
“Friends?”
“Yeah, until we figure out whatever this is.”
You stared into his eyes, they weren’t pleased. Like they were keeping something back. You didn’t know how to ask him that, so you didn’t
“Friends,” you repeated as if testing the word. “I guess it can work.”
Remus nodded and stretched out his hand to you. You stared at his hand for a moment, recalling the way they caressed your skin a few days ago. You ached for that feeling.
“Anytime before I graduate would be nice,” he said.
You muttered a quick ‘sorry’ before shaking his hand.
Geoffrey Fawley had asked you to be his date for the ball.
He was a nice boy from what you had heard from James. He was in the Quidditch team with James and was a good chaser. Of course, you hadn’t mentioned either James or Sirius about your date. You wanted them to be surprised so you could mock them later on.
You hadn’t mentioned Remus about it, either. Why should you? Right?
It was only two days since you had agreed to be friends and in those two days you barely even talked, mainly because you were too busy choosing a dress for the ball.
To your delight, you had found the perfect one.
Checking your attire with one last glance, you turned your heels and walked out of the dorm room straight to the hall.
Geoffrey was waiting for you with a smile; he was an undeniably charming boy, you had to admit. Blonde hair sparkling above the green eyes with a graceful frame, he could steal any girl's heart.
Except that yours was already stolen by a pair of brown eyes.
You pushed Remus's visage deep in your mind, refusing to revive your disappointment when he didn't ask you out to the ball as his date.
You let Geoffrey take your hand and curtly lead you from the door to the ball.
"You look absolutely gorgeous."
"Thank you," you smiled.
As you two occupied yourself with small talk, you didn’t notice James and Sirius making their way to you. You had learned that Geoffrey has two elder sisters, he doesn’t like chocolate and he unsurprisingly loves Quidditch. He was kind, sensible, and a great listener.
He was everything and nothing you ever wanted. He wasn’t Remus.
“Fawley! Y/N is your date?!” James called, smiling from ear to ear as he approached you.
“Yes, Potter. Apparently, she deemed me worthy of standing by her side tonight,” Geoffrey joked back, smiling at you gently.
“Ah, yes, fancy words,” Sirius dropped his arm around your shoulders. “Have you kissed yet? Her lipstick looks intact.”
“Sirius!” you hit him in the torso.
“I’ll take this as a no and head out to Remus,” Sirius said, “He’s been a moody bitch these days.”
“Where’s he?” you asked, forcing your tone to the casual.
James turned back, pointing at someone with his hand.
“There. The one with the sour face and brown hair.”
He had leaned against a wall, looking around with a frown. He was captivating in a black suit, his hair falling into all the right places and creating an art-like view. You enjoyed the view a few moments more, memorising every little detail about his figure. You wished he could be a bit closer to you.
“He doesn’t look like he enjoys himself. Should we invite him?” Geoffrey asked.
“I don’t think that’s necessary. He looks comfortable–”
“Nonsense, Y/N,” Sirius cut in. “Oi! Moony! Come here!”
You squeezed your lips together as Remus reached you. He was without a date.
Would it be malicious if you felt relieved by that?
“You guys have fun. Lily is waiting for me,” James said before leaving you four together.
“He is with Lily?” you asked Sirius, both surprised and happy.
“Geoffrey must have really swept you off your feet,” Remus drawled, staring into your eyes.
You felt uncomfortable. Not because of Remus’s words but because of Geoffrey’s presence. You smiled at Remus awkwardly, knowing you had Geoffrey’s eyes on you.
“You don’t have a date, Remus?”
“No,” he said to you. You felt cold at his tone.
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll find someone here.”
“I don’t want to find someone.”
You felt Geoffrey grab your hand.
“Would you like to dance?”
You smiled and nodded at him, letting him carry you to the dance floor.
He put his hand on your waist as you placed your hand on his shoulder. He intertwined your other hands together and started moving with the rhythm.
You glanced at his eyes only for a moment before dragging them to every corner of the room. They landed on Remus.
His eyes cut through your chest like a dagger, reminding you of every feeling your skin, heart and soul had felt two days ago.
You hated that you felt nothing if it wasn’t Remus touching you. You hated that you felt nothing if it wasn’t Remus smiling at you. You hated that you felt nothing if it wasn’t Remus’s words that were whispered in your ear.
“You seem distracted.”
“Oh,” you locked eyes with Geoffrey again, smiling. “Forgive me.”
“It’s Lupin, isn’t it?”
“Excuse me?”
“You have been acting weird since he stopped by.”
Your smile ebbed as guilt prickled inside of your chest. Geoffrey chuckled at your fortified expression.
“It’s alright, you know. I knew you had no feelings for me when I asked you. I just didn’t think you may have feelings for another.”
You lowered your head to his chest. There was no point in denying it.
“I’m so sorry Geoffrey, truly. I didn’t mean to disrespect you–”
“You haven’t”
“Or offend you.”
“You haven’t either,” he shook his head in a warm smile.
“I shouldn’t have said yes,” you mumbled before looking up at him.
“I’m glad that you did. I wouldn’t be able to move on if I didn’t hear you reject me.”
You admired his genuinity, and his pleasant smile and his gentle manner.
You adored his kindness and good heart. He was the kind of boy that would never annoy you, bicker with you or hurt your feelings.
But he wasn’t the kind of a boy that would make your heart race in excitement, passion and desire.
He wasn’t Remus.
When the dance ended, you couldn’t find Remus.
“Go,” Geoffrey said, “I’ll be alright. It’s obvious that you two need to talk.”
You thanked him before placing a short peck on the cheek. Then, you dashed to Sirius, who was too busy getting drunk.
“Padfoot, where’s Remus?” you yelled, attempting to drown the music.
“Where’s who?”
“Remus! Where’s Remus?!”
“I’m here,” you startled at his voice behind you.
You parted your lips to speak to him but he acted faster.
“Come with me,” he said, holding your hand and dragging you away from the people.
He led you to another room and closed the door after him.
“A bit quiet.”
You nodded, feeling the blood in your veins rush. It had only been a second since you were alone with him and your feelings were already messed up.
An awkward silence filled the room.
“Remus, I don’t want to–”
“You didn’t tell me you–”
You sighed, hoping that he would talk first. And he did.
“You didn’t tell me you had a date.”
Your heart skipped a beat.
“I didn’t know I had to.”
“I thought we were…friends,” his teasing tone daunted your nerves. You forgot what you were searching Remus for.
“We’re not that close friends.”
“You seemed pretty close with Geoffrey.”
Pride clawed at your insides, taking an internal scream from you. It didn’t hurt, you felt powerful.
“Jealous much?” you managed to hide the smirk but you didn’t hide the smug tone. You saw Remus clench his jaw and clear his throat before talking.
“What if I am?”
“Then I’d ask you the reason,” you said. Your smug tone changed into something different, something desirous.
“Don’t tire yourself, love. I’m not jealous.”
“Nice,” you smiled, stepping forward. “Then you wouldn’t mind if I returned to my date.”
Remus filled the void between you and the door with his body, not letting you go through. You peeked at his lips momentarily.
“We’re not done talking.”
You hoped you could cover your jitters with cheekiness because your heart was racing, your mouth was dry and your hands were trembling with anticipation. You didn’t even want to mention the surges of fire and flood inside you exhausting each other.
“Oh, isn’t this new? You finally want to talk to me after years of vexation.”
“That’s what friends do, right?” he shrugged.
The way that ‘friend’ word agitated you was ridiculous.
“I’m all ears,” you told him, still not backing away from him, holding onto the distance that could easily be conquered with one step.
You were finally close enough to him to easily feel him under your touch. You could see the beauty marks, freckles and scars vividly. You wouldn’t even need to get closer to caress them. You only needed to raise your hand and–
“I fancy you.”
Your eyes shot up from his lips to his eyes, widening in bemusement. You chose not to let your ears deceive you, not to let the words plant hope in you, not to let butterflies escape their cage.
“What?”
“You heard me,” he frowned. “I’ve been fancying you since you were a little girl and I was a little boy.”
“You hated me when you were a little boy and I was a little girl.”
You shook your head. He did the same.
“No, I didn’t. Annoying you was the only way to get you to talk to me, so I clung to it for years.”
You felt the heft weighing you down drag you onto the surface, letting you finally breathe. You felt the fireworks inside you, or maybe that was just butterflies. Your heart chirped in its cage, ready for you to set it free.
“I fancy you, too.”
You set your heart free from its cage. You let him fly away, welcoming the warmth that the boy before you had to offer.
Remus straightened and closed the distance between you two.
“You do?”
“Yes,” you whispered. “I do.”
You closed your eyes, giving into the night when you felt Remus’s hand on your cheek. You drew a breath in when you felt his other hand on your waist. You parted your lips when you felt his hot breath on your lips.
Anticipation climbed its way from your stomach all the way to your heart, shaking your breath. One more inch closer and you would die in his lips, one more second later and you would break down under his touch, one more breath in and you would crumble into pieces by his kiss.
“Would you like to see how I ruin a friendship in a second?”
“Yes,” you pleaded.
He closed the one last inch, spent the one last second and inhaled the one last breath.
He kissed your lips.
You died in his lips, broke down under his touch and crumbled into pieces by his kiss.
His lips, so soft and silky, intoxicated your mind. His touch, so gentle yet so firm, ignited your skin. His skin under your hands, so warm and flawless, blazed your fingertips.
You melted under him, ready to die in his arms.
He kissed your lips until they were red and swollen. He kissed you until you were breathless and dizzy. He touched you until he sent shivers down your spine.
When you pulled away, his eyes dark and in trance were still on your lips, his lips placing pecks on all over your face.
You smiled into his lips, letting him embrace you.
“James owes Sirius ten sickles.”
“What?” you laughed, taking in his scent.
“Two years ago they had a bet on us,” he said, and you loved the way ‘us’ echoed between his lips. “Sirius said sooner or later we would get together."
“We just made Sirius ten sickles richer.”
I love that I can write Remus both as a kind, gentle, sweet boy and as a mysterious, complicated but hot boy. It just makes sense in both ways.
Anyways, if you've read this far, thank you so much for your time. And thank you to the person that sent the request.
Please let me know what you think!

My opinion about Harry Potter Ships (2/2)
Wolfstar (Sirius Black/Remus Lupin): Beautiful. Just beautiful. They're THE Marauders Era couple. 😆
Remadora (Remus Lupin/Nymphadora Tonks): I have to see the development in a canon couple to like it- and in the movie they were suddenly like "We're a couple now :D". So no, not my ship. 😕
Jilly (James Potter/Lily Evans): Why not. After all, they both did bad things. "But Severus also did bad things" Yeah, he did. But James bullying him was also bad. So was Lily laughing when his "best friend" was being sexually assaulted.
Snilly (Severus Snape/Lily Evans): Before their bond broke they were good friends so I'm okay with it. Although sometimes I think they both deserve someone else.
Sirily (Sirius Black/Lily Evans): I didn't know the existence of this ship until now- but you know- it's nice. I like it.
Regulily (Regulus Black/Lily Evans): Wouldn't they also be called something like Starflower? Even the name of the ship is nice.
Remily (Remus Lupin/Lily Evans): I will only say the ship name ✨Moonflower✨ is beautiful as well as the ship.
Rosekiller (Barty Crouch Jr./Evan Rosier): Fics made me ship them 😅
Bartylus (Barty Crouch Jr./Regulus Black): The fics also made me ship them ngl
Moonwater (Remus Lupin/Regulus Black): I prefer Sirius with Remus/Severus/James and Regulus with Barty but they're okay 🌸
Jegulus (James Potter/Regulus Black): I know it's popular, but I'm neutral about it. I don't hate it, neither I love it. I like some fics of them tho.
Jeverus (James Potter/Severus Snape): I LOVE IT! But just because I read fics where James changes before bullying gets too far and Severus turns into a Death Eater. And fics with them having a healthy relationship. If they were toxic in the fics I wouldn't like it.
Snirius (Sirius Black/Severus Snape): They're kinda like Jeverus and they are Slytherin/Gryffindor. I will only say that.
Reverus (Regulus Black/Severus Snape): Ooooh they're cute 💖
Snucius (Lucius Malfoy/Severus Snape): Two Slytherins? One of them is a brunette and the other is blond? I LOVE IT.
Arthucius (Lucius Malfoy/Arthur Weasley): Dron 2.0 but in the previous generation. 👌
Wolfdragon (Lucius Malfoy/Remus Lupin): I don't know what made me ship them, but I love this ship ❤️
Stardragon (Lucius Malfoy/Sirius Black): They're- kinda interesting 🧐
Lucissa (Lucius Malfoy/Narcissa Malfoy): They're literally the best "partners in crime" relationship of Harry Potter.
Jamcissa (James Potter/Narcissa Malfoy): If the ship is between a Malfoy/Black and a Potter, I'm in 😉
Jucius (Lucius Malfoy/James Potter): I think the same thing as I said in the previous ship 🎶🎶
Prongsfoot (Sirius Black/James Potter): Two Gryffindors? Friends to lovers? Gay wizards? Yesyesyesyes-
Moonbucks (James Potter/Remus Lupin): It's similar to Prongsfoot so yes 👌
Narlily (Narcissa Malfoy/Lily Evans): The fanarts made me ship them ⭐⭐
Bellamort (Tom Riddle | Voldemort/Bellatrix Lestrange): I have the feeling they would be toxic so no. The only way I could accept it is if they were both sane enough to have a healthy relationship.
Belladolphus (Rodolphus Lestrange/Bellatrix Lestrange): Yes. they have to be together. Although I only like them if they're not toxic.
Quirrelmort (Tom Riddle | Voldemort/Quirinus Quirrell): I mean they could be a good couple if both of them (again) were sane enough to have a healthy relationship. Unless we're talking about AVPM- which would be a big YES.
Snarry (Severus Snape/Harry Potter): Nope. I see Severus as his father figure and nothing else.
Tomarry (Tom Riddle | Voldemort/Harry Potter): I headcanon them as platonic soulmates. Besides I ship Tom with Abraxas and Harry with Draco 🤣
Bellamione (Bellatrix Lestrange/Hermione Granger): For me they're like the previous two ships. They would just have a platonic relationship.

Intro Post!
Hey y'all, it's DORCAS!!
If you haven't heard of me: I'm Dorcas Meadowes, the guitarist/backup vocalist for Pantheon. I play electric and acoustic guitar. If you've got any questions about our band, hit me up!
I am:
➣ 18 years old
➣ proudly lesbian
➣ a demi-girl (she/they)
➣ African-American
youtube
A little about my URL (sapphic-saints):
The saints part is because my namesake is a Christian saint. I grew up Catholic, and was named after Dorcas/Tabitha, a disciple of Jesus and the patron saint of seamstresses and tailors. During her life, she sewed clothing for those in need. When she died, the village widows showed Saint Peter some of the clothes she'd made as evidence of her charity, and he reincarnated her as a saint.
The sapphic part is for two reasons; one is because I'm a lesbian and thought it would be funny, but the other is a nod to Sappho, the Greek poet. Sappho was a bisexual woman who lived on the island of Lesbos between 630 BCE and 570 BCE. (The word sapphic comes from her name.) Dorcas means gazelle in Greek, which is why I chose a Greek poet as part of my URL.
My bandmates/bffs:
@astronomic-nerd Reggie <3 <3 the only sane person in our band
@bat-barty-junior Barty, my favourite sleep paralysis demon
@roses-n-bones Evan, probably a psychopath (but who cares??)
@panda-sometimes-preforms Pandora <3 <3 they are an angel who has never ever ever set any studios on fire ;)
Other people:
@jamie-and-co James Potter
@im-not-joking Sirius Black
@remus-moony-lupin Remus Lupin
@petey-p Peter Pettigrew
@notyouraverage-mary Mary Macdonald
@marls-boros-bitch Marlene McKinnon (ugh)
This is a Marauders roleplay blog. If you're racist, misogynist, ableist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, etc. then you'd probably hate me irl, so get out! If you're not, feel free to interact – I love to chat <3
Oh, and if you're also part of this roleplay and you want to post a photo your character 'took' of Dorcas – no problem, just use a photo of Marsai Martin. She's my favourite fancast, I can't see anybody else as Dorcas <3

Thirst
Sorry this took so long everyone! AND THAT IT’S SO LONG. Here's Part 4!! Written for (I just tagged everyone who expressed interest in the continuation, sorry! I can totally untag you if you would like!): @stars-a-n-d-scars @shirablu @b-u-g-g-y @over-under-through1 @colgatebluemintygel @thebisexualswiftie @willow-paniking
Part 1: Ignorance
Part 2: Duck
Part 3: Anticipation
@wolfstarmicrofic
Prompts: lovesick, cupid, hate, darling, regret, affection, admirer, thirst
------------
Peter loves James dearly, his most fervent admirer, even. But he must admit, he lacks something Sirius has in troves: the ability to be smooth.
In the midst of their plotting, the three of them hear Remus returning to the dorm, and Sirius hisses at James and Peter: "Quick! Laugh as if I've just said something funny!"
Remus opens the door to a laughing group of Marauders, looking charmed and slightly bemused.
"Moony! Come join the fun, we've been wondering as to your whereabouts," Sirius smiles at Remus in a way that Peter can tell Sirius knows looks handsome.
"Ha! Funny that, I was just looking for you in the Hospital Wing. We must have totally blown past each other."
"Yes, well, when you've got one thing on your mind...."
Remus huffs mildly. "And just what were you three giggling about?"
"Oh, y'know. Snogging," cuts in James, according to plan.
"Snogging?"
"Or rather, our piss poor first attempts at snogs."
"Ah yes, mostly we were laughing about Prongs' attempt at snogging Kashmir Anders in Fourth Year," Sirius smirks.
Remus chuckles. "That did go awry, didn't it? He's still got that little scar on his earlobe if you look close."
"Say Moony—" Sirius sounds decidedly casual, and Peter's hairs stand on end, "—Have you ever snogged anyone?"
This is it. Peter can feel it. This is when they solve the mystery of Remus Lupin's sexual orientation.
He grins slyly. "I've snogged my fair share, I'll have you know."
Peter can't take it anymore. Subtlety be damned; he's never had much patience: "But what was in their pants!?"
One could have heard a pin drop in that dorm, but the fury on Sirius' face spoke for itself. Oops.
Remus looks decidedly shy as he answers, completely misinterpreting the question, "Well, I've not gotten quite that far, Pete."
Peter could jump off of the Astronomy Tower.
"Oh, but that reminds me!" Remus starts animatedly. "Part of the reason I was looking for you, Pads, was about Hogsmeade this weekend?"
"It was?" Sirius replies, looking shocked and hopeful.
"Yeah! Funny coincidence, really, I've actually asked Kashmir Anders to go with me, but get this! She says she'll only come if you agree to go with her mate, Opal Hendricks. Did you know she's got a bit of a thing for you? Ah, but of course, everyone does," he chortles good naturedly.
Sirius looks aghast. James looks aghast. Peter doesn't know for sure what he himself looks like, but he's got a suspicion.
"...Why do you all look like that? Look, I know Opal's a bit—”
"I'd love to."
------------
Sirius is regretting his entire life.
Look, my back was against the wall! he'd argued with James and Peter, who'd lambasted his idiocy. There was no good excuse for me to say no!
He thinks now that any excuse (can't, I'm going to do my own homework for the first time ever and my grandmother's scheduled to die this weekend) would have been better than voluntarily suffering this.
Opal Hendricks is clinging to his arm, and she's truly a vision: dark, curly hair, an even curvier body, and sleepy cornflower-blue eyes, and Sirius feels not a drop of desire for her. There are horrible little cupids, felt hearts, and red crepe paper all around them, even though Valentine's Day is two weeks past, and any sane business owner (which is mutually exclusive to owning Madame Puddifoot's) would have taken the blasted things down.
Far worse is the sight of Remus: he is wearing a fitted crimson turtleneck and a matching beanie with a silly pompom. It brings out the cursed copper tints in his hair and the honey flecks in his eyes. Where have the oversized, patchy jumpers gone? The ones that hide the broadness of Remus' shoulders. Sirius begs for the return of the jumpers. Sirius may faint soon.
And worse yet than all of that is Kashmir Anders. Kashmir, who is blonde and waifish, and soft-spoken, and wears adorable thick-framed glasses, and has legs up to her neck. Kashmir Anders, who is clever, and president of Charms club, and helped Remus master the Banishing Charm.
"Aren't you going to pay any attention to me?" mutters Opal sullenly.
Kashmir, who has absolutely no decency, hanging on to Remus all day, and has kissed his neck no less than two and a half times in this shop alone. Kashmir, who is being called darling by stupid, idiotic, Remus Cunt Lupin.
"Darling, have you figured out what you want yet?" says Remus a little tiredly whilst rubbing his face. The shopkeeper has been by a few times now, with an increasingly impatient "I'll come back later" spoken each trek.
Sirius decides he hates Kashmir, whose greatest sin, if Sirius is being truly honest with himself, is being indecisive at restaurants. But even so, the hate has boiled away all of the rationality in Sirius' brain. He stands before he realizes what he's doing.
"I cannot believe you're calling someone darling, who, who can't pick between a ham sandwich and a, and a fucking tuna melt!" Sirius hisses, pushing his chair away roughly with a great clatter.
As he leaves the suddenly silent tea shop, he recognizes that that was not one of his better slights, but he feels good about it all the same.
The feeling does not last long before the horror sets in.
------------
Remus is having a strange moment.
It's not unlike the moment he often has a few minutes before the moon turns him: intense clarity and perception, like a reprieve, just before he's enveloped in madness.
Sirius' increasingly tense, then outright rude comments to Kashmir this entire trip into Hogsmeade.
Sirius' angry, yet lovesick expression as he left the table.
Sirius fussing over him after the Full. Sirius making sure he eats three meals a day. Sirius' friendly touches, special, and warmer than anyone else's. His overwhelming affection for Remus, bleeding into everything he does.
James' and Peter's knowing looks.
It suddenly clicks, and Remus is left baffled.
"So," says Opal, sounding incredibly bored, "s'pose he fancies you, then, Lupin?"
Remus can feel his expression morph into an incredulous smile.
He feels like he's been crawling by his fingernails through a dry, burning desert, and it took setting a glass of ice cold water in front of him for him to realize that he's been dying of thirst. He feels like an idiot.
"S'pose so," he replies, sounding inappropriately calm. "Ladies, I am truly sorry. You are both devastatingly lovely, and this is the height of rudeness, but I'm afraid I have to go now."
Kashmir sniffles, looking forlorn. "So, d’you—do you fancy boys or girls?"
"Darling, I think that's besides the point," Remus murmurs distractedly, already inching for the door. "Clearly, I fancy Sirius. A discussion about anyone else is moot."
Moments later, Sirius spots Remus tracking his footprints in the snow, and takes off running.
Remus is much faster than him.
He tackles him into the snow, gasping, "You silly sod, look how short you are! Obviously I'm going to outrun you!"
Sirius sputters and scowls, still trying to squirm away like an angry, feral cat. "I am THREE INCHES SHORTER! Look, why don't you piss off? I'm embarrassed enough as it is!"
Remus laughs. Then he kisses Sirius. It's a clumsy thing, with Sirius fidgeting underneath him, and he only gets half of his mouth, but Sirius stills in shock.
"I didn't know," Remus says breathlessly, eyes bright. Then, he kisses Sirius again, hard, like a stamp, like a confirmation. "I didn't know." He laughs again.
"What didn't you know?" asks Sirius wonderingly, like he's been Bludgered.
"I didn't know the way you felt. I didn't know I felt the same way," he answers solemnly.
Sirius sniffles, smiling, cheeks red like apples.
"God, Remus, you're so ignorant."
------------
They spend the rest of the day in Hogsmeade hand-in-hand. Every so often, Sirius becomes insecure and wonders aloud if Remus is just doing this out of pity, like when he pretended to like chess for Peter's sake. Remus responds by kissing him obnoxiously and crowding his space. It happens often enough that he begins to suspect Sirius is doing it on purpose to get snogged. Remus finds that he doesn't mind either way.
Later, they find James and Peter, who are screaming with triumph and delight. Remus grins at them.
"You two are fucking idiots. ABBA? Really?"

Hi!! I've already asked for a Pedro pascal and stranger things matchup before and I was wondering if I could request one again? I'm going through a harry potter brainrot and I was wondering if I could please get a romantic and platonic ship for both eras? Feel free to ignore this though!
I'm a straight female and my pronouns are she/her
I'm fairly introverted and it takes me a while to warm up to people. I love reading, my room is filled with stacks of books. I especially enjoy true crime, poetry and Russian literature! I adore adventures, witty and playful banter, joking around and having indepth discussions on anything and everything. I love helping out and people come to me to vent or for advice and comfort. I'd consider myself really smart and I'm very ambitious; I love being the best at everything I do. I daydream a lot and I'm a hopeless romantic! I enjoy all forms of art and I have quite a few creative hobbies! I'm 5'9 and I have long and curly dark brown hair and brown eyes. I dress mostly in relaxed suits, blazers and coats and I love the occasional dress or sweaters layered over a white button down! My love languages are acts of service (giving) quality time and physical touch (recieveing)
Thank you very much!! I adore your writing sm <3
Hi! Welcome back! Thank you for requesting another matchup! I hope you enjoy this one! Also thank you! <3333
---
Harry Potter -
---
Marauders Era;
(Platonic) -
Remus Lupin:
🐾 You met Remus in the library of Hogwarts when you were studying for your Potions quiz coming up, and low and behold, Remus saunters in, finding the book he needed in an instant before realizing there were no other open tables... Guess where he decided to sit? With you; With hushed voices, Remus asked to sit at your table and you said yes, and that was the day you and Remus became friends
🐾 It took you a little bit to warm up to him, but you could see that he was similar to you in the fact that he was a bit introverted as well, and he loved books, a win for you; now you had someone to rant to about the newest book you've read
🐾 Remus is actually very glad that you are his friend, you were more sane than Peter, James, and Sirius, so he finally had someone to talk to that wasn't going to promptly ignore him; though he loved his friends and just knew that going to James and Sirius about homework wasn't the best idea
🐾 Aside from reading and studying, you and Remus would go on little adventures around the castle or Hogsmeade, just talking about anything and everything; it was nice to have someone understand you, and also like your style, it was easy for Remus to find you gifts for your birthday since he wore blazers and sweaters practically all the time
🐾 You two are the best of friends, always there for one another, for school or for furry problems; even with the occasional joking around and having fun, Remus was glad to have you as his friend, you you felt totally the same
---
Marauders Era;
(Romantic) -
Sirius Black:
🐺 You met Sirius through your friend, Remus, it was obvious of course, you were friends with one Marauder, it was only time before you met and became friends with the other three; and a bit... more friendly with a certain Padfoot, not your fault really, he was gorgeous and how could you saw no to that face
🐺 Yep, three weeks after getting to know you a bit and helping you out of your shell, Sirius asked you out, but you knew about his rep with the ladies, so you, (sadly), turned him down; but Sirius was a man of his word and he promised to himself that he'd show you that he was... We... Serious, he really liked you and really wanted to get to know you more
🐺 James liked to tease him about you, "Sirius is whipped", he say, "Mate's been staring at her all day!" Only after James, Peter, and Remus came to you and begged that you put Sirius out of his misery did you agree to go on that date; and you were so glad you did, Sirius was whipped, and your hopeless romantic self was loving it
🐺 Sirius was being all sweet, holding the doors open for you, listening to you, and even asking questions; even during your relationship with the man, he kept being adorable, and sweet, and perfect to the point you thought you were going to explode with awe and admiration
🐺 You didn't know that you were in it bad until Sirius wrote an entire poem for you, even with a slight bit of help from Remus, the poem was beautiful and you knew that you were going to marry the man; Sirius was on the same page, he'd do anything and everything for you, no more casanova Sirius, Sirius was serious about you
---
Lightning Era;
(Platonic) -
Neville Longbottom:
🍀 You met Neville when he was a first year and you were a fifth year, you actually helped him find his toad, Trevor; Neville was ridiculously shy and you were pretty shy too, so talking and making conversation went at a snail's pace, but by the end you found out that Neville loved plants and he found out that you loved reading and poetry
🍀 Since the year gap, you didn't see Neville that often, but during the times you did see each other, you both had a great time; if you shared the same house, you'd both read by the fire together or talk about your favorite hobbies and interests
🍀 As the years went on, you helped Neville overcome some of his shyness, help him gain come courage, and help him if Draco Malfoy said anything terrible to him; Neville on his end, helped you overcome your own shyness, helped you with your courage if you were feeling a bit out of it, always paying you back for mentoring him though his years at the school
🍀 Neville is the sweetest and is always there if you need him, if you need him, he'd drop anything just to make sure you were alright, (he won't drop plants, if he's holding them, he'd gently set them down before going off to find you)
🍀 You helped Neville, the same with him, you would always be there if he needed you; you even helped Neville ask Ginny out to the Yule Ball, and Neville was always grateful, you were a great mentor and friend, and for a graduation gift, Neville got you a nice plant
---
Lightning Era;
(Romantic) -
Charlie Weasley: (Fancast: Sam Heughan)
You actually met Charlie after Hogwarts, though you both knew about each other's existence in school, and let me just say, you had a schoolgirl crush on him in your fourth year; Charlie didn't really mind you, he had never met you and only heard about you from Ron and his friends
🐲 Though, after you graduated, you were selected to go to Romania to work at one of the Dragon Sanctuaries, it turns out that reading up on dragons and getting all O's on your Care of Magical Creatures was a fast-pass to working with those fire-breathers; and that was when you got to meet the infamous Charlie Weasley
🐲 You actually thought your crush on him was gone, but nope! Yes, there was a bit of an age gap, only a couple of years, but that didn't stop you from daydreaming about him asking out out; and that dream would later come true, even though Charlie was a real dragons man and said he'd never date or marry anyone, he was lying... He'd date and marry you
🐲 It took a bit of time for Charlie to warm up to you, (and vise versa), he was used to more... Scaly friends with cold blood, you were the opposite of that, a human being with thoughts, feelings, used words, (and had warm blood); Charlie was worried that if he tried to start anything with you, he'd mess it all up and you'd hate him; the exact opposite ended up happening
🐲 One day, after taking care of some dragons, you and Charlie decided to hang out, talking about true crime, books, and well... Dragons as you took a walk through the nearby woods; It was that day, a whole year into working together, that Charlie asked you out on a date, and of course, you said yes

Azkaban Can't Keep Us Apart
🌙 Hello! Well, this is a fic I'm very excited to be posting. We're back in the Marauder's Era today with some key future events, however, there's a twist.
This fic was inspired by a TikTok that my friend Hex sent to the discord and it just would not leave my head so, I'll link it here for you to watch if you want to see inspiration!
It's a little angsty at first, but don't worry, there's fluff! I promise!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy! You can also find this fic on Ao3! here’s the link if you prefer to read there 🌙
.
Yorkshire, England. 1982.
Ultimately, the plan was simple in theory.
Break into Azkaban unnoticed.
Find Sirius’ cell and destroy the lock.
Avoid the Dementors.
Escape the prison in the middle of the sea.
And find a safe place to hide until proof of Sirius’ innocence is uncovered.
Executing this plan, however, is much more complicated.
Even though breaking an inmate free from his cell is incredibly illegal, he was also attempting to break in and escape what was considered an inescapable prison. Not to mention, any word that a werewolf accomplished this— would practically lead to his execution.
Consequences be damned, Remus didn’t care. He was not going to let Sirius grow mad inside those dreary walls. It wasn’t fair for him, neither was it fair for Harry. James wouldn’t have wanted his brother locked away.
It’s been three days. Three full days since Halloween. Without hearing the joyful laughter of the Marauders altogether. Without Sirius by his side. Some said that the Marauder’s friendship was unbreakable, that not even death could surpass it. In hindsight, it seemed almost a foolish belief.
There was still something that didn’t sit right with Remus, as there was no way the man he loved would have betrayed their old friends. It just doesn’t seem logical. Sirius was loyal to his friends, their found family. Especially James.
Was this the catalyst that led to Remus spending these past two days, when not caring for Harry, researching and planning a perfect escape?
He wouldn’t deny it.
Sooner than he would’ve liked, nightfall was upon him. And as Remus tucked Harry into his crib, keeping the nightlight on since the toddler was afraid of the dark, he only hoped that Harry wouldn’t be plagued by nightmares while he’s gone.
Mentally running through the detailed plan for the fiftieth time in what seemed to be the past hour, then subconsciously casting the necessary—albeit slightly altered— silencing and invisibility spells, and taking hold of the bag he packed in case of emergency, Remus knew he was ready. Now was the time.
With a crack and a pop, the warm cottage that he called home disappeared, and the cliffs of the North Sea were before him.
.
Azkaban, North Sea.
There was nothing warm or welcoming about where he now resided.
Three days had passed, at least that’s what he thought.
Today would be his birthday. And he wasn’t ever going to celebrate again.
Two of his best friends were dead, one of which was practically his brother, his godson —merlin he cannot even call the boy that anymore— will never have his parents, and the man he loved, now forever stuck alone with the living knowledge of his “betrayal” and forced to transform into a wolf every full moon.
Remus John Lupin, His Moony. Even thinking about what he must be feeling and has been going through the past three days makes his heart clench in longing. At least he has Harry now, but would the little boy be enough? He wished he could see him again, wished he could explain, maybe Remus doubted what happened, maybe he could’ve found out the truth.
But no. There’s no way…
Remus’ name echoes like a soft mantra within his head, in an effort for him to stay alive. To stay sane. To be a motivation for escape.
Re

For the first time in three days, he breaks down in silent tears, rather than the maniacal laughter that had graced the dreary walls of the prison. The sudden echoing sound of metal colliding harshly against the walls causes his head to snap up with a gasp.
.
There was nothing warm or welcoming about where Sirius now resided.
The exact opposite of Sirius himself, Remus noted.
Azkaban’s inner workings had been warded off against apparition, which was one particularly bothersome factor. And so, the rocky cliffs trembled beneath his feet from the sheer force of the dark precarious waves. Cascading amongst the sides of the triangular prison in a torrential storm. Ice-cold walls lined the dark and gloomy residence, whilst the broken desperate cries of inmates could be heard. The sweet release of death was coveted by many, but given to few.
Remus' heart sinks at the thought of Sirius being imprisoned for so long that he joins the cries. He could only imagine what sort of cruel memories the dementors would leave him with. How much happiness would be forever stolen, the light of it snuffed out into eternal darkness.
Time seemed endless, as he walked through the grim building— doing his best to ignore the sharpness in his ears, the dark magic seemingly etching to his skin. Through faint scent alone he tries to find Sirius’ cell. Until at last, he spots him. Crying near silent tears, it was heartbreaking to see the man he loved in this state. If only there was more he could’ve done three— no. He will not go down the path of guilt again.
This was it, he had to make it count.
Raising his wand, he quietly whispers silencio bombarda and casts in the direction of the cell door. The door slams open, the echoing sound of metal colliding harshly against the stone walls reverberating throughout the halls.
He watches Sirius’ head snap up, his mouth parting in a silent gasp of surprise. Despite the painful few days, he still looked the same. Medium length raven black hair, pale skin, and bright grey-blue eyes which shimmered with the lining of tears.
Sirius slowly stands, peeking out into the hall, “Who’s there..?”
Remus quickly removes the invisibility spell that has kept him hidden, and amber eyes meet wide grey-blue.
“...Remus?”
Remus smiles, and as if pulled by an invisible string, he finds himself enveloped in Sirius’ warmth. Familiar soft hands cup his cheeks, a thumb whipping away the tears he hadn’t realized had begun to fall.
“You’re real?! This isn’t a dream?!” Sirius whispers in shock.
Remus nods, unable to stop smiling, “I’m getting you out of here.” He chuckles quietly, “I’m sorry it took so long.”
Sirius shakes his head, touching his forehead to Remus’, “You’re here… you believe me? I swear Remus I- I wouldn’t ever betray our friends. I-”
Shushing him quietly, Remus briefly closes his eyes, unable to let this be a dream any further. This is reality. “I know, I know.”
Tensing, Remus catches the approaching sound of a dementor. So with great reluctance, he pulls away in favor of casting the invisibility spell again— when a hand covers his own.
“Don’t, I want to see you…”
Remus sighs softly, giving Sirius a comforting smile, “I’ll be right beside you.” He squeezes Sirius’ hand still in his own for emphasis.
With a pause, Sirius reluctantly nods, and suddenly he can no longer see himself nor Remus. A squeeze of his hand and pull of his arm, tying him back to reality. Time seemed endless, as they walked through the grim building. Each other’s presence is the only form of comfort.
When they reach the apparition point, Remus holds him close. Both reluctant to ever let go again. With a crack and a pop, the cliffs of the North Sea disappeared, and the warm cottage that he called home was before him.

The One Rule
Sirius Black didn’t have rules, mainly because he didn’t follow rules
The job of a Marauder is to break rules, not create or enforce them, you see
So Sirius was never big on rules, but there was one that he had.
He never knew he even had the rule until after Hogwarts when he got his own flat with his boyfriend/fiance/husband/best friend/lover/love of his life/life partner et cetera, et cetera, formally known as Remus Lupin, most commonly known as My Moony to Sirius.
It wasn’t until the two moved in together in June 1978 when Sirius came up with a rule.
It was a simple rule, one that Sirius never thought they’d have to enforce, but one that meant the world to him regardless.
“Arguments do not happen in the bedroom.”
Sirius had been raised in a household where arguments occurred numerous times throughout the day and by the time he was sorted into Gryffindor, each argument almost always ended with some sort of physical punishment.
Growing up, his bedroom was never a safe space. It wasn’t off limits from the screams or the curses and at 18 years old fresh out of Hogwarts, Sirius wanted to change that.
So he told Remus his one rule and though surprised Sirius Black even had a rule, Remus immediately agreed.
He had to admit that if there was one rule to have, it was that.
They lived through a war and went through days of arguments followed by days of silence, in the end turning their backs on each other, but through it all, they never broke the rule.
Well, until 1995.
Sirius spent twelve years in Azkaban and another two on the run. So when he showed up at Remus’ flat—their flat—a bit abruptly in June 1995, Remus hesitantly let him in.
It was still technically Sirius’ flat as it was in his name, so it would have been a bit rude for Remus to turn him away.
For the first few days, it was awkward as neither had much to say.
But after a week, Sirius finally broke the silence by initiating the inevitable what-are-we?conversation as they got ready for bed.
Prior to the conversation, Sirius had transformed as Padfoot and slept at the foot of the bed each night, but he longed for more. He spent almost fourteen years longing to be back in Remus’ arms and all he wanted to do was just that; Feel safe in Remus’ arms as he fell asleep.
“I’m not sure, Sirius. There’s no guide on what to do when your significant other escaped prison after spending twelve years locked up for betraying all your friends.”
Sirius was shocked at the harshness of the words from Remus.
Those were not the words of someone who once loved him, those weren’t even the words of someone who was once friends with him.
“Remus, I already apologized for that and if I’m not mistaken, you thought I was the spy just as much as I did.”
“But my thought didn’t lead to the deaths of our friends!”
Sirius’ heart sank at the words as he scrambled from the bed. He didn’t need to be reminded of the poor choice he made when he had spent the last fourteen years dwelling on it every day.
“I can’t bring them back, Remus!”
“Oh I know that, Sirius!” He snapped, throwing his hands up in frustration, “Why do you even care what we are? It shouldn’t even matter! You’re just staying here until Dumbeldore tells you to go someplace else!”
Why does it matter? Where they stood was the only thing that mattered to Sirius, the only thing that got him through the years in Azkaban, the only thing that got him through the two years he spent on the run, the only thing that kept Sirius sane after all the time that had passed.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Excuse me?!” Remus shot back, squaring his shoulders.
“What’s wrong with you?” Sirius seethed, his eyes glaring at the man across the room. With their bed in between them, the entire ordeal felt wrong and Sirius knew it. If he could, he’d take Remus to any other place in the flat than continue it, but the tears forming in his eyes and the pain in his chest clouded his mind. “Of course it matters! I spent fourteen years thinking about you—”
“Fourteen years apart!” Remus cut him off, “What’s the point? Nothing you can say or do will change that! Why do you even want this so bad—”
“BECAUSE I NEVER STOPPED LOVING YOU!” Sirius shouted at the top of his lungs for his voice to be heard, “I SPENT FOURTEEN FUCKING YEARS AWAY FROM YOU BUT NOT A DAY WENT BY WHEN I STOPPED LOVING YOU! WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!”
Remus stumbled, presumably at the loud screams, until his back hit the wall behind him.
Deep down, Sirius knew he shouldn’t have yelled, not in their bedroom, especially not about this, but he didn’t care.
“I SPENT TWELVE YEARS PROTECTING YOU—PROTECTING US—FROM THOSE FUCKING DEMENTORS BECAUSE I LOVE YOU REMUS AND I NEVER FUCKING STOPPED!” He bellowed as he wildly through his hands around as if to gesture, “I SPENT AN ENTIRE YEAR ON THE EDGE OF THAT FUCKING SCHOOL JUST HOPING TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF YOU OR HARRY OR EVEN BOTH! I SPENT AN ENTIRE YEAR IN A FUCKING CAVE JUST TO MAKE SURE HARRY WAS SAFE WHEN I KNEW I COULD HAVE BEEN HERE WITH YOU! EVERY DAY SINCE I LEFT FOURTEEN FUCKING YEARS AGO, ALL I’VE THOUGHT ABOUT HAS BEEN YOU, REMUS! IT’S ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT YOU!”
He paused to catch his breath and stared at Remus, who was still against the wall from shock.
He wasn’t supposed to react this way, in fact, he promised himself years ago that he would never yell or scream at anyone—especially someone he loved—in the way his mother yelled.
And as Sirius stared into Remus’ eyes, he knew he messed up, but a rational conversation was thrown out the window when Remus reopened fourteen year old wounds.
Sirius sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, attempting to gain some type of composure. When he opened his eyes, Remus was still staring back at him, practically clinging to the wall behind him.
He took a deep breath and continued, this time lowering his voice as he slowly walked towards Remus.
“Not a day went by without thinking about you. The only thing that’s kept me going, the only thing I’ve thought about for fourteen years—besides that stupid mistake—was you and how much I love you. I never stopped loving you, Moons, and I know you haven’t stopped loving me.”
“How?” Remus spoke barely above a whisper as tears spilled from his eyes, “How do you know?”
By now, Sirius stood in front of Remus and softly smiled.
He brought a hand up and gently wiped the tears from Remus’ cheeks before leaning up until their noses were practically touching.
“Because you wouldn’t let me get this close to you if you stopped.” Sirius whispered, his lips grazing against Remus’ mouth with every word that escaped.
His heart beat loud in his ears, surely it was loud enough for Remus to hear, whether the moon was upcoming or not.
In fact, if he had listened close enough, he most likely would have heard Remus’ heart beating irrationally loud as well, but Sirius had other things to focus on.
His eyes flicked to Remus’ hooded eyes and that was almost enough for Sirius to lose it.
“Just kiss me already.” Remus breathed.
Sirius’ hand fell from Remus’ cheek to the back of his neck, their lips connecting at last.
They broke his one rule, but Sirius didn’t care. He was back in Remus’ arms and that’s all that mattered; After fourteen years apart, that’s all that ever mattered.

If Only I Had Stayed in The Shadows - Prologue
James Potter x OC
Words: 3,7k
Cecily Grant. At your service. Ordinary Sixth Year Gryffindor, Chaser of the Quidditch team and mediocre witch. Dreams of becoming the number one Healer anyone has ever seen (at least my parents think that's my dream) and having my first kiss before I bloody graduate. Don't I sound absolutely charming? Special? Note-worthy?
No. And apparently the rest of the school agrees since I hardly get acknowledged by anyone outside of class...or year. We're a big school, of course no one knows everyone. But at least within one year...
"OI, are you daydreaming again?" Marlene flicked my forehead. Oh well, I guess some did notice me.
"It's not called daydreaming when I'm just trying to ignore your traditional boy rant in the morning," I teased, picking the sweet back up to munch on it.
Marlene scoffed, "At least, I have boys to rant about." She flipped me off when I pressed my hand against my heart with an inaudible 'ouch', causing her to giggle.
Yeah, I shouldn't be complaining about my life. I have an established friendship group, my grades are good enough to satisfy my parents and Hogwarts was an amazing school in general. Plus, I even had a hobby. Quidditch. Hah, take that.
Nonetheless, the routine that my life had become was pretty boring, depressing even if I were to look at my boy's department. Or rather, lack of. I know I shouldn't identify myself through the boyfriends I had or had not, because I'm more than that (female empowerment, y'all!) but as a sixteen year old you are simply not able to resist the urge to want a male in your life and experience all that romantic ish. Especially when you see all your friends developing crushes. Not that I had never not developed a crush. I currently had more than one crush to be honest. But their crushes were actually two-sided and resulted in dates and relationships…well, Marlene's did at least. If Lily would only get as far as a second date until the bloke suddenly disappeared from Hogwarts (just kidding, they would just run away at first sight). Three guesses, whose fault that was.
Anyways, back to me because at least in my story I want to be the protagonist. My crushes were never reciprocated even if I thought so at the beginning (Marlene's fault mostly), so I was left as probably the only Sixth Year in Gryffindor's history to have never been in a romantic relationship. And mind you, I don't have big expectations. I can't really in my position. I'm no Lily Evans with her shiny red hair and bright, emerald green eyes and neither a Marlene McKinnon with her tanned skin, hazelnut brown hair- I'm getting off topic again, which is me.
I sighed. Not even in my thoughts I could keep the attention to myself, why would anyone else?
…
"She's not listening again," Marlene huffed, flicking my forehead.
After that inner-monologue at breakfast, I headed off to the first class this morning; History of Magic. I had a distinct feeling I would continue with that monologue in class. No wonder, I failed that class in my O.W.L's. Meh, whatever.
Since Lily and Marlene were closer friends than any of them with me, it was natural for them to sit together in every class, which caused me to slip into any free seat next to someone I usually never talk to. Joy.
To my surprise, I saw a vacant seat next to Remus Lupin, who was still standing and taking his stuff out whilst his two friends Sirius Black and James Potter took over the seats behind them. Ah, now the infamous Marauders. Minus one that is mysteriously missing right now. But nonetheless, no one would dare split the four apart, knowing they are always together and always partnering in each class-
"Hey Remus," I greeted the sandy-haired boy cheerfully, plopping on the seat next to him. I wasn't a Gryffindor for nothing. Remus gave me a surprised smile, seemingly not minding and I was sure as hell not going to ask. At least, he wasn't a total stranger. I was proud to say that every Sixth Year knew every Sixth Year within their house at least. And since I was on the Gryffindor team, I was known to him solely because of James Potter and Sirius Black, who were both players as well, the former even having been named Captain this year.
"Hey Cecily, how you doing?" Remus asked politely, settling himself down. His skin looked paler than usual upon closer inspection and he looked positively exhausted. I took out a bar of chocolate I always kept in the pockets of my robes (for emergencies only, of course!) and offered him some. "Good, and you?" I asked as he gratefully accepted without question. He was used to me randomly offering him some. "Fine, had a bit of a restless night, but should be better tomorrow," he said quietly, which went mostly unheard when one rowdy Sirius hollered from back, "Oi, aren't you gonna offer some to us as well?"
I glanced backwards at the two notorious troublemakers. "Um, no?" Sirius pouted and any ordinary girl would start to swoon at the sight. I'm ordinary, so I did. But years of practice taught me to only do it internally. And the amount of times I caught him with his tongue down another girl's throat was enough disgust to keep myself sane whilst resting my eyes on his unnatural beauty. I ain't kidding, really. He was handsome in ways that sometimes made me question whether he was a male-Veela. Those surely existed. Perfectly groomed, thick black hair, striking grey eyes, an annoyingly perfect nose and a jaw line that could cut someone in half. I am ashamed to admit there was a time where I would have gladly let him stomp on me if that would have made him acknowledge me.
I mean, come on, who hadn't had a crush on him, male and female? I was convinced, James did and was just trying to cover it with his constant profession of love towards one Lily Evans. I shall explain in a minute but let's first get through my most important description of the next Marauder, who was unfortunately now my Captain.
Unfortunate, because he already had been a nightmare in the last two years I had been on the team, constantly taking over the leader spot from the actual Captain to order us around, demanding more laps, longer practice hours until we were all bruised and frustrated enough to attempt a mutiny even though he wasn't even on charge. Imagine, how he was going to be now with the actual permission to order us around? I still have nightmares.
Besides that, he was probably also the leader of the little Marauder gang, a dumb name for their tight-knit group of friends. I couldn't deny though I was a bit envious of their friendship and I could imagine many others were, too.
Didn't change the fact that their gang name sounded stupid. Now, why I think James Potter is secretly crushing on his best mate (like every sane person would); I could hardly take his 'undying' love for Lily seriously, mainly because he had such ridiculous ways of professing his love for her that I doubted he was serious about it…or sirius. Heh. Anyways, he would probably be more believable if he weren't always so damn public about his declarations. That was also probably the reason why Lily was able to reject him all this time and call him an arrogant toe-rag in all her hateful rants. It didn't seem like she believed him.
Otherwise it would be hard to resist him for years. I mean, he was handsome, smart if he wanted to be and a pretty good Quidditch player. The whole package, really.
Merlin, I sounded like I had a crush on him, too. BUT. To be honest, everyone would have a crush on him as well as Sirius if he wasn't so 'devoted'.
I mentally slapped myself. At this rate, I would crush on Frank Longbottom's toad. "I seriously need a boyfriend," I muttered to myself.
"Hm, what was that?" Remus asked amused, chuckling quietly. Just then did I hear the complaints of the boys behind me.
"Are we air?"
"You siriusly going to ignore your Captain? That's ten extra laps this Thursday, Grant!"
I just remembered why I could keep my crushes under control. At least when it came to these two.
"Nothing," I muttered to Remus before turning over, raising an eyebrow at them, "What do you want?"
"Respect."
"Chocolate."
"Sorry, I have neither for you two," I said with a shrug, turning back over whilst they spluttered. It was easy handling them after years of practice together. Besides these interactions at class and on the Quidditch field, we had no other kind of connection, which was good for my heart.
But well, that would change quickly.
"Why is Remus always getting chocolate and we don't?" Sirius complained after class as I packed up the rest of the bar along with other stuff (such as the piece of parchment and quill I didn't use at all for this lesson). Rolling my eyes, I offered him some. "No, I don't want it anymore."
"Jeez, like a kid," I said loudly, "And for the record, I do it because Remus gives me his notes. Doesn't he?" I directed the question towards my seat partner with the most innocent smile. Remus Lupin with the gentle chuckle. He would probably be a heartthrob as well if it weren't for his quiet and introverted nature. In fact, all of the Marauders could be heartthrobs. Except Peter Pettigrew. Who was part of the gang for some reason. 'But even he is in a relationship right now,' I thought miserably, 'Probably off snogging his girlfriend and skipping class..'
"Of course I do," Remus answered, charming his notes to double and handing me the copy.
"Thanks, Remus!" I said cheerily, stuffing the notes into my bag before swinging it over and trudging past the protesting boys, "Hey, why don't we ever get your notes?!"
I ran to catch up with Marlene and Lily, who were already on their way to Herbology. "Hey girls, wait up!" They startled into a stop, "Oh, right. Sorry Cecily, we should have waited for you," Lily said sweetly and I grimaced. I was probably the Peter Pettigrew in our little friendship group.
Not that I could blame them. Lily and Marlene were both popular, extraordinary beauties and smart on top. I was the boring, ordinary looking and mediocre Peter that had nothing special to her name.
But that would change.
The days passed in a blur of classes, gossip and studying. The usual boring tirade, really. The only thing I looked forward to was food. And Quidditch.
So, imagine my elation when Thursday came up…and the sour mood I got in when James actually demanded those extra ten laps, apparently being good at holding a grudge. "Keep it up, Chaser No. 2!"
"Honestly, Potter," I huffed, coming to a stand in front of him, the only one still on the ground besides him as everyone was already up on their brooms.
"It's Captain, Chaser No. 2."
"Seriously? Chaser No. 2?"
"Well, there are three Chasers. I have to tell them apart."
"You have to tell them apart?" I snorted, "Potter, you know every player's name, family background, favourite team and player."
"True, and the Montrose Magpies still suck."
"They don't!"
"They do!"
"Still better than the Chudley Cannons!"
"Take that back!"
"Nope."
"Ten more laps."
I snorted again, mounting my broom. "As if."
"Grant, you get back down here this instant!"
"Who the hell is Grant? I'm Chaser No. 2," I yelled back, causing Sirius to bark a laugh as he heard. We started simulating a game with Team A against Team B for a while before mixing the players together. I rolled my eyes as Archie Stan knocked his shoulder against mine more roughly than necessary in an attempt to loosen my grip on the Quaffle. I wasn't born yesterday though, my grip tighter on the ball than a package of almond biscuits.
"Good, Chaser No. 2!" James shouted as I threw the Quaffle through the loop, whooping exaggerately, "Wooo -oof!" I clutched my broomstick to regain my balance as Stan knocked against me from behind this time, the air leaving my lungs for a second at the unexpected hit. "Watch it, Sideline-Chaser No. 3!"
"Not cool, bro!" Sirius and Frank booed, causing the Seventh Year boy to roll his eyes.
"Alright, everyone. Good game today," James called out, wrapping up the practice. We all cheered in relief, flying towards the ground to stretch and loosen up. "Don't act like you didn't enjoy it!" Our captain stated cheekily, grinning broadly now that he left the Captain mode behind. The others grumbled under their breaths as we all made our way to the locker rooms. I rubbed my sore shoulder, the rough handling having left a bit of a mark. "You alright there, Grant?" James asked as I passed him by.
"Yeah, just sore."
"Stan is an idiot," James commented, looking after the boy in question, "He is still bitter about how you took over his spot on the A team."
"His fault that he sucks," I muttered, causing the messy-haired boy to chuckle. "He doesn't suck. You are just better than him."
"Wow, can't believe I'm hearing a compliment from the Captain that only knows how to motivate us with insults."
He winked, catching me off guard, "Don't get used to it." I stared for a second at his smirk, wondering how he could pull that off without seeming arrogant like Sirius. Maybe it had to do with his unruly hair that gave him somewhat of a boyish, innocent look or maybe the warmth in his almond eyes that would turn into pure amber if the sun hit him in the face…
'I'm thinking way too much about this,' I thought, shaking myself out of it with a mental slap.
"Evans!" he suddenly called out, causing me to flinch in surprise. His entire expression brightened tenfold as he spotted the red-head over my shoulder. I turned to see her trudging over along with Marlene and Alice Prewett, who was probably the sole reason why they were here in the first place as she always wanted to cheer for her boyfriend. "Glad to see you are here to support the Gryffindor team! Or did you just come to watch me in my natural element?"
"Neither, Potter. Quidditch is useless," Lily commented harshly, and I winced slightly at the sharp tone she had solely reserved for him, watching how James' ego deflated along with his puffed-out chest.
"Touché," he chuckled, almost choking on the word and I could practically see his inner battle between agreeing with the love of his life and defending his love for the game.
"Excuse me, Quidditch isn't useless!" I protested indignantly. Lily just rolled her eyes good-naturedly as she walked past us with the other girls, who simply gave me small smiles in passing. I huffed. I really needed friends that supported this game.
"One day…," James sighed blissfully, staring after them, "One day she will admit her love for me and we will be together forever."
I shifted slightly, "Yeaaahhhh."
He frowned, straightening up to his full height, "You don't think so?"
Lie. Lie. Say everything else but what you really think, "I think you are in love with Sirius and trying to cover it up."
I TOLD YOU TO-
"W-what?" James spluttered and I snapped my head over my shoulder, "Yep, I'm coming!" I called back to the owl that flew past us in that moment, swiftly turning to walk away, "Bye Potter!"
"Wait, hold up!" the dark-haired boy caught me by the hood of my uniform, successfully pulling me back and I grimaced, "What the bloody hell do you mean I'm in love with Padfoot?!"
"Who isn't?" the boy in question asked, coming up towards after the quickest shower ever. I facepalmed in embarrassment as he walked over, ruffling his still wet hair.
"I'm certainly not!" James exclaimed, shaking me slightly with his grip on my hood, "She thinks so!"
"Oh?" Sirius raised an eyebrow at me, smirking in amusement, "I thought you were talking about her being in love with me."
"You know you gonna catch a cold if you walk around with your hair wet in this weather," I pointed out, trying to change the subject. Not that I was actually in love with him but since I had a tiny crush and I was really bad at lying, I would probably blurt something out that would make them think I was.
"Don't change the subject. Why the hell do you think I'm in love with Padfoot?"
"Well, for one. You have a pet name for him," I pointed out.
"For Moony and Wormtail, too! And they call him that, too!"
"Maybe it's a group thing then," I said dismissively, trying to find a way out and finally hit the showers, crawl into my bed and die. The longest conversation with the two heartthrobs yet and it had to be about my thoughts on their relationships.
"It's not!" Both James and Sirius denied.
"Two negatives make one positive," I said with a grin.
"Well, I wouldn't hold it against any of the blokes if they were in love with me," Sirius stated, flipping his hair and placing a hand on James' shoulder, "You can tell me, I won't judge."
James shrugged him off, "Of course, I don't! I never did, I don't now and I'm never going to!" Then he paused, "You don't think anyone else thinks that?"
Sirius shrugged and shook his head simultaneously, "Why would they?"
"Yeah, why would they?" I agreed hastily, side-stepping discreetly in hopes of- "YOU think so? You tell me!" James demanded, blocking my way.
I sighed, "I was just kidding."
"You were not."
I frowned, "How do you know?"
James pinched his nose. "You don't think Evans thinks I'm in love with Padfoot, do you?"
Shrugging, I leaned against my broomstick with a sigh, realising that this would take longer than I would like to, "How would I know?"
"Because you are friends?"
"Yeah, but I don't always listen when they talk about boy stuff." Mainly because I didn't always want to feel the green eyed monster crawling up whenever they talked about their dates or relationships or even drama. I wish I had some drama to talk about.
"And why do you think I do?" James pressed.
I blinked. "Do what?"
"Love Padfoot!" James said loudly in exasperation, causing heads to turn as the other players slowly got out of the locker room, freshened up.
"Is that your way of matchmaking, James?" Frank called out teasingly, "Shouting at the victim to love your best mate?"
"Oi, what do you mean 'victim'?" Sirius shouted back as the others laughed around us. I went beet red.
"This conversation is over, Potter," I decided, side-stepping him swiftly to walk towards the locker rooms. The girls looked at me questioningly, but I just shook my head as I walked into the warm room, James hot on my heels.
"I'm serious, Grant. Why do you think I'm in love with Padfoot and not Evans? Does she think that? Is she doubting my love for her?" he fired one question after another as he followed me.
"Well, maybe," I replied to his last question as I placed broomstick against the wall next to the girls' changing rooms door, stopping with a hand on the handle, "I mean, it would explain why she hasn't agreed to go out with you after your countless times of asking her."
"How is asking someone out causing someone to doubt their love for them?" James asked incredulously as he proceeded to try and follow me inside the room.
"Off limits, Potter!" I said sternly with half a foot inside the room as he stood right in front of me.
"Captain here, Grant!" James retaliated, pushing me inside before half-closing the door to give me some privacy. I sighed, figuring that would be all I would get as I opened my locker. "Now, answer the question!"
"Well, maybe it's just the way you are handling your 'love' for her," I mused as I changed, knowing he wouldn't stop pestering me unless I satisfied his curiousity.
"What do you mean?"
"You are being overbearing about it. Obnoxious," I explained, grinning at his childish scoff, "I mean, I would have believed you at some point after all these years, but your affections seem kind of…superficial, given the fact that you never tried to actually get to know her."
"…How do you know all that? Did she tell you that?"
I blushed. "Y-yeah, probably." I was glad he couldn't see my red face from lying. It was still better than telling him that I was mindlessly obsessing over my friend's relationships and boy dramas since I had none myself. Sighing, I stuffed my Quidditch robes into my sack before throwing it over my shoulder and heading towards the door.
Unsurprisingly, James stood there still, an unusual thoughtful expression on his face. "So, you think I should get to know her more?"
"I think you should leave her alone."
"What? I can't-"
"I mean, everything you try at this point will be fruitless because Lily won't believe you like she hasn't all the years before," I explained patiently, "It would be smarter to just lean back and be civil for a while, give her space to breathe instead of giving her yet another reason to complain how much of an arrogant toe-rag you are."
James went quiet for a second and I wondered if I had imagined the slight flicker of hurt in his eyes at my words. "She really said that?" he asked softly and I mentally berated myself for throwing that in his face thoughtlessly.
"Maybe not with those words…," I tried to deny but he saw right through it, sighing heavily as he ran a hand through his air.
"…Be civil, eh?"
I nodded whilst simultaneously wondering how I had suddenly become a relationship counsellor for my Quidditch Captain. "Be civil."
Little did I know how this little conversation got the ball rolling towards the most unexpected direction.

Hear me out hear me out-
Remus Lupin was, apart from Pandora obviously, the only person who really understood Xenophilius. Because of this, they were quite close. Not as close as the Marauders but still.
Anyway
Also because of this, Remus learned about nargles. So, he could see them. He knew what they were and what they meant and stuff.
So
Fast forward to Luna's second year. It's 1993 and the DADA professor is none other than R. J. Lupin.
Luna - Are you sure it wasn't the nargles professor?
Remus - Yes, I'm fairly certain it wasn't nargles. It's not like them to steal people's clothes. It is a possibility though
Luna - You seem know a lot about nargles professor
Remus - Well... I can see them too, your just as sane as I am.
Now, fast forward to Luna's fourth year when Harry can see the thestrals.
"I can see them too, your just as sane as I am"

Masterlist of my favourite HP fics
Sorted by weirdly specific theme:
Two-ships-passing-in-the-night encounters between characters of different generations:
A Conversation That’s Not About Dora by stereolightning
Harry and Remus talk (and don't talk) about women, and other things.
Seventeen Minutes to Midnight in Casablanca by Laura Laurent
Sirius Black sits in the kitchen at Grimmauld Place on New Year's Eve when in walks Ginny Weasley. She's pretty and he's a bit smashed but she's supposed to be with Harry. What happens? A missing moment from OotP. Rated R---but you'll be very bored if you're looking for illicit romantic scenes between teenage girls and older men.
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by The Divine Comedian
"Penny for your thoughts?" said a voice in the dark.
One minute Remus had been alone in the garden, leaning against the Weasleys' broomstick shed, facing away from the Burrow and that peculiar limbo between Order meeting and wedding preparations. But then he lit up, and the flame briefly illuminated the face of Hermione, now lounging next to him.
Examining one character from multiple POVs:
Daddy’s Favourite by Dzeytoun
Severus Snape has long complained about Albus Dumbledore's favoritism toward Harry Potter. Usually his voice is alone. But is he the only one who feels that way, or is he just the only one who voices the opinion? Here is how several people view the relationship between Dumbledore and Harry in the wake of Harry's fifth year.

This is longer than I expected it to be but it’s worth it I promise.
-
7th year James, Lily, Remus, Peter and Sirius sitting around the common room. Lily and Remus on the carpet next to the fire; Sirius sprawled lazily across the sofa; James sitting on the chair tossing around the snitch; Peter sitting at the table doing homework — actually, doodling on some spare parchment and eating his secret stash of chocolates but the marauders didn’t need to know that.
“Remusssss do you have a fag? I think i’m out” Sirius wines from the couch, rudely interrupting Remus and Lily’s conversation. “Yes Sirius, I do.” He replied before turning back to Lily. “Well... Can I have one?!” Padfoot presses. Remus rolls his eyes, only giving Sirius the boredest of glances, “No.” Lily snickers as the boy immediately continues their previous conversation as if there had been no interruption at all.
Sirius was just about to give up after a few minutes of trying to get Remus’ attention again when an idea struck him. One he thought was so brilliant and sure to get him a fag. “See James, this is exactly why I only went for girls all those years!” He could see his boyfriends ears perk up, obviously listening. To his luck, James played along. “Yeah, maybe we should go find some new girls who will actually pay attention to us Padfoot.” Lily glanced at him, unable to ignore the smirk plastered across his face. She gave Remus a look, asking him to join the game with her.
“What was that you said about girls, Padfoot?” He asked, not taking his eyes on the ginger girl in front of him. “That’s none of your business Moony...” Sirius narrowed his eyes at Remus, trying to calculate his next move. “And James, darling, you said something about finding someone new... is that right?” Lily dared to move her gaze to James then to Remus’ lips. She looked up at his eyes, telling him it was his move. “N-Not exactly,” James had stopped tossing around his snitch as he noticed the space between Remus and Lily was getting progressively narrower. “I’ve never really minded girls...” Moony said, just above a whisper. Although he was staring at Lily intensely, he could picture in his mind the way Sirius glanced from him to James, asking if they would actually do it. “Having a werewolf around couldn’t be so bad, now could it?” Lily Evans and Remus Lupin were so very close. Remus smirked as his fingertips traced her jawline, resting on her neck. With his thumb pressed to the bottom of her chin, Remus tilted the girls face up ever so slightly. Peter could hardly contain his laughter. Lily leaned almost completely in so they could feel each other’s breath on their cheeks.
They were amazing actors, they were, Lily Evans and Remus Lupin. But choruses of “DONT YOU FUCKING DARE!” from Sirius and, “OKAY YOU WIN WE GET IT!” from James pushed them into a fit of giggles. Lily let her head fall into Remus’ shoulder as they laughed and laughed. Just as they collected themselves enough to glance at the, now standing, Sirius and James, they were thrown into another fit of laughter. The snitch had been completely ignored, buzzing around the common room. The pillow Sirius had been fiddling with was tossed to the other side of the room at some point. Both boys stood there scowling at the two friends as they laughed uncontrollably for long moments afterward.
Later, just before after they had all gotten up to go to their dorms, Peter gave Remus and Lily some chocolate for their ‘excellent performance’. He also showed them a drawing he had made in the half hour after the incident. The common room, with a almost kissing Remus Lupin and Lily Evans and two boys standing straight with a look on their faces as if they might commit arson. “Oh Peter this is amazing! Think we should frame it Remus?” Lily said, just barely containing her laughter. “Haven’t got a frame, besides, I think it would be better on the marauders wall, don’t you?” Peter said, tucking the drawing under his arm. “That’s brilliant Wormtail! Right in the center!” Remus exclaimed. Sirius rolled his eyes, fighting a smile.
And so they pinned it up in the middle of the wall as Remus had said. Surrounded by prank ideas, doodles, notes, reminders, and anything else they wanted. It was a mess but it was theirs.
Just before Lily went to exit the boys’ dormitory, Remus kissed her hand, “Goodnight my love!” Sirius wasted no time in pulling Remus’ shoulder and dragging him back to their bed. “I’ll see you tomorrow darling!” Lily called after him, dramatically. She had planned on sleeping in the girls dormitory that night but James grabbed her wrist gently, tugging her into his own bed. “I love you Lily Evans.” he whispered before kissing her forehead. “Don’t tell Remus... but I love you too.” and so she kissed him.
Remus wrapped his arm around Sirius’ torso. “What would you do without me?” he asks as their fingers lace together. “I would definitely be more sane, that’s for sure.” Sirius huffed. “I love you Padfoot.” “I love you too Moony.” He smiled and craned his neck to peck Remus’ lips. “Don’t tell my girlfriend about us.”

An Introduction to the Marauders Tragedy For New Fans Part 2: Sirius Black
Sirius Black was born to Walburga and Orion Black
He also had a brother one year below him, Regulus
Sirius noted they were not close but Regulus was the “better son”
The House of Black were a notably pure-blood family who were advocates for pure-blood elitism and hated muggles and muggle-born
They were so pro-pure-blood, in fact, that they often married within their bloodline to keep the family “pure” (side note: Walburga and Orion were second cousins which is nasty and illegal in muggle law) and disowned squib and “blood traitor” children
Sirius rejected these ideals from a young age, much to the dismay (putting it lightly) of his parents
While not much is known specifically about Sirius’s home life, many feel it is implied that he suffered emotional abuse, especially from his mother who it is suggested he holds particular hatred toward
Sirius did not get along with his family for the most part with the exception of his cousin Andromeda (sister of Narcissa and Bellatrix)
However, when she married the muggle-born wizard Ted Tonks, she was disowned from the family and he rarely saw her, making him feel isolated
In 1971, Sirius joined Hogwarts and was Sorted into Gryffindor house, the first in his family not to make Slytherin house
This further ostracised him from his family and caused more issues for his home life
Silver lining: he met fellow Gryffindors, Remus, James and Peter
Over time, Sirius became really popular and was noted to be very handsome and intelligent
By sixteen, Sirius’s home life had become so unbearable that he ran away and moved in with the Potters
James’s parents, Fleamont and Euphemia, loved Sirius and took him in as their own
Following Sirius’s choice to move in with a “blood traitor” family, his mother removed him from the family tree, officially disowning his as her son forever
Like the other Marauders, Sirius joined the Order immediately after finishing school
In 1979, Regulus died
Sirius believed that Regulus had been killed because he became a Death Eater, but was too cowardly for it and thus executed
In truth (though no one would know until 1997) Regulus had, at sixteen, discovered the truth about Voldemort’s horcruxes and had died tragically after trying to destroy one
Sirius never knew this and died believing his little brother to have died a Death Eater
Fast forward and he’s James’s best man, and the Godfather to his son, Harry
Euphemia and Fleamont, the only parental figures who had ever loved and cared for him, died shortly after the wedding
The war was more brutal than ever. Everyone was tense. People were under the imperious curse. Brothers betrayed brothers. Families were slaughtered.
This took a toll on Sirius and, when they discovered a ‘rat’ in the Order, he grew suspicious of Remus Lupin
This one mistake would result in murder, wrongful imprisonment, and a child being orphaned
The prophecy was (partly) known by Voldemort who swore to kill Harry Potter, believing him to be his downfall
James and Lily went into hiding and asked Sirius to be their Secret Keeper
Here’s what ‘secret keeper’ means -
James and Lily could choose ONE person as their “secret keeper” and would tell them where they were hiding. As long as the SK told no one, it would be impossible for anyone else to find them. Even if Voldemort pressed his face up against the window, he would not be able to see them unless the SK told him specifically where to go
This is where Sirius’s mistake came in...
Sirius declined the offer to be SK as he said everyone knew they were the closest and he was sure to be the first person interrogated
Instead, he suggested they let everyone believe that he was the SK, but to ask someone else
At this point, he (wrongly) mistrusted Remus, so suggested they use Peter who was (unbeknownst to them) the real spy in the Order
On Halloween night 1981, Sirius went to visit Peter and felt some was wrong when he was not there
He went to Godric’s Hollow and found that Voldemort had killed an unarmed James and Lily but failed to kill Harry
He saw the lifeless body of the man he considered a brother, and a woman he considered a great friend, and his crying orphaned son...
...and he blamed himself entirely
Despite the guilt and grief, his first instinct was to protect Harry and, as his Godfather, immediately intended to adopt him and care for him
At this point, Hagrid arrived to take Harry away to which Sirius fought, declaring himself as Harry’s guardian
Hagrid told him that Dumbledore had arrangements for him and (since everyone trusts Dumbledore for some reason) Sirius finally handed him over
He set off to confront Peter who had betrayed them and indirectly murdered James and Lily who had loved him
Despite what many believe, Peter was not dim witted. In fact, he outsmart Sirius and framed him for the murder of himself and twelve muggles
Before faking his death, Peter shouted that Sirius had betrayed and killed the Potters, framing him for his own crimes
Sirius was captured and given no trial
Despite having access to veritaserum (truth potion) no effort was made to question Sirius and he was sent to life imprisonment
Adding insult to injury, while Sirius was imprisoned for the murder of two of his closet friends, the true criminal Peter was awarded the Order of Merlin, First Class
Everyone, even Sirius’s last friend Remus, believed that it had been Sirius who committed the heinous crime
He spent twelve years in Azkaban in solidarity confinement with dementors who are the embodiment of depression
During this time, he kept sane by focusing on his innocence
In 1993, Sirius discovered that Peter (in animagus form) was with Harry at Hogwarts, and he immediately escaped to go to Hogwarts
Immediately.
To clarify, Sirius had the ability to leave Azkaban at any point over the previous twelve years, but he stayed willingly
He voluntarily tortured himself for twelve years as he blamed James and Lily’s deaths on himself
After a year of hiding and trying to confront Peter and talk to Harry, Sirius was finally successful and even Remus realised he was innocent!
He was about to be proven innocent, and would be able to adopt Harry who still lived with the abusive Dursleys
End of story! Happy ending!
Ha, I wish
So everything was going well and it seemed like Sirius was going to be proven innocent
Until a series of unfortunate events (see Remus Lupin) happened and Peter escaped, and so did his chance of freedom
Snape, who still hated him, would not listen to Remus, Sirius or the Golden Trio, and was visibly delighted to announce Sirius would have his soul sucked from his body (extremely painful) via the Dementor’s Kiss
He escaped with help, but had to remain in hiding and thus could not adopt Harry - something that devastated both of them
Sirius rejoined the Order in 1995, but was unable to leave the house due to being the most Undesirable (wanted) Wizard in the UK
He fell into a visible depression and felt useless
Before Harry’s fifth year, he gave him a present, but Harry never opened it
In 1996, Voldemort tricked Harry into believing he was torturing Sirius in the Department of Mysteries
Due to a variety of unlucky circumstances, Harry was unable to contact Sirius and left to go protect him, walking right into Voldemort’s trap
Sirius, along with other Order members, went to the Department of Mysteries to help Harry
He was shot with an unknown spell by his cousin, Bellatrix, and subsequently fell through the Veil in the Death Chamber, killing him
After Sirius’s death, Harry found the present he had never opened and decided to look at it
It was a two-way communicating mirror which would work similar to muggle video chat, meaning Harry had a way to contact Sirius and never would have gone to the Ministry and thus Sirius would not have died
This also means Sirius spent his last year waiting for Harry to talk to him, but was instead lonely
