Away Part 1
Regulus Black AU
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: T- mentions of abuse
Summary: Growing up in abusive homes has finally reached its breaking point. Regulus comes to run away with you in the middle of the night. Its time for a new life.
____
It was late at night when you heard a soft knock on the front door. Looking up from the book that you had been reading, you knew that knock. That was Regulus. You frowned as you stood up and looked at the clock on the wall. 12:45. It was late for Regulus to come over without any warning.
Walking to the door, you were thankful that your father had passed out drunk. Your very mentally abusive father was usually out cold by 10:00. If he knew that Regulus was there, things would get terrible quickly. Your father hated everything about Regulus, to begin with.
The moment you opened the door, Regulus reached out and grabbed your wrist. Tugging you down the steps, Regulus didn’t say a word until you stopped walking.
“Regulus, what are you doing?”
You questioned, glancing over your shoulder to make sure your father hadn’t heard anything. Regulus stopped and glanced over his shoulder. He took a breath before turning to face you.
In the darkness, you couldn’t see his full face but something told you that he was beaten up too.
“Come on Y/n, we are getting out of here. I have had enough. We aren’t dealing with our parent’s shit anymore.”
Regulus quickly tugged you toward a parked car. Opening the door, he quickly ushered you into the passenger side before hurting to the driver's side. You sat quietly processing everything that had just happened.
“Where did you get a car?”
Regulus kept his grey eyes on the road in front of him.
“Stole it. That is all that you need to know.”
You blinked, again taking everything in.
“Regulus, I am going to have to ask questions. I didn’t even know that you could drive.”
“Having Sirius for an older brother isn’t as bad as one would have thought.”
Regulus replied. He was still going on sheer adrenaline. After the epic showdown with his parents, he wasn’t sure when his normal thinking would return. When he did return to his normal thinking, Regulus wasn’t sure how he would process everything he did. At the moment, however, he didn’t care. All he cared about was getting the two of you out of dodge.
“Regulus, will you please tell me what the hell is going on outside of running away? I am a little freaked out.”
You gasped when Regulus swerved the car to the shoulder of the road. He sat quietly for a moment before turning to face you. When he turned, you suddenly understood everything. Half of Regulus’ perfect face was bruised and swollen.
“Reggie
”
You managed to squeak out as he reached for your hand. His long fingers gently traced over your palm.
“I know. It looks awful. I am tired of our parents beating on us, Y/n. Neither one of us deserves this shit and I am putting an end to it now. We will be 17 soon and we will be able to legally decide our fate. I am terrified that if we wait much longer, one of us may be killed. Again, we are getting the fuck out of here before that could happen.”
Regulus was relieved when you nodded and appeared in agreement.
“You’re right. I am tired of seeing what your bitch of a mother does to you.”
Regulus sighed.
“I told her about us. She flipped the fuck out because you aren’t a pureblood. Apparently, she is trying to arrange a marriage with one of the other snots in my family’s circle. If we stay here, we will never be able to be together. I am not giving you up for some pureblood bitch that I have no interest in.”
As Regulus suspected, you appeared to be completely horrified. You knew that you wouldn’t be good enough for Walburga. That was common sense 101 to you but you never expected her to totally beat Regulus over it.
“You’re right. We have to get out of here. Regulus, what are we going to do?”
Regulus leaned his head back into the headrest and was silent for a moment.
“I have my inheritance from my uncle. He gave it to me some time ago in case I needed to make a quick getaway. I have an idea. Let's just get married. That way if my stupid parents catch us, they won't be able to do a goddamn thing.”
You found yourself staring at Regulus again. This was the most un-Regulus Black thing that you had ever heard come out of his mouth. You had the feeling that Regulus would take some time to propose. Doing it before you were even legally able to do so was totally unexpected.
“Regulus, we are 16. There is no way we would be able to
”
Regulus cut you off by holding his hand up.
“We lie. People lie all the time and we can be one of them. Please Y/n. The only way that everyone will know that we aren’t going to give each other up is if we get married.”
Regulus was relieved when you finally smiled.
“You have definitely put some thought into this. I think you are right. I don’t want us to get married to give our parents the middle finger. I want to marry you because I love you and you are the only person that I could ever picture myself with.”
Regulus gave you the small smile that he only reserved for you.
“Is that a yes, Regulus. I will marry you?”
Leaning across the seats, you gently kissed his cheek.
“Yes, Regulus. I will marry you.”
Regulus pulled you into a soft kiss. Regardless of the moment being rather shitty and the day being horrible
this was exactly what he needed. Breathing in your scent, Regulus felt comforted knowing that his mother would never be able to force the two of you apart.
Reaching into his shirt pocket, Regulus took out the engagement ring that his grandmother had given to him years ago with the instructions to give it to the right girl. He wasn’t sure if his grandmother Irma would be happy with his choice of the right girl but Regulus also didn’t care.
“Good, because I didn’t know what else to say.”
Regulus commented before slipping the ring onto your finger. You smiled looking down at the emerald and diamond engagement ring. Regulus didn’t have to tell you to know that this was a family heirloom. This would be yet another fuck you to the Blacks that you would enjoy. The perfect ring would be on your finger while you were married to their perfect heir.
“It's beautiful, Regulus. I love it.”
Regulus nodded.
“And it fits your finger perfectly.”
You moved to lay your head on his shoulder.
“Where are we going to go? You know, after we get married.”
Regulus looked thoughtful for a moment.
“I know where Sirius lives with Remus. We can stay with them until we come up with something more permanent. It wouldn’t be until after we get out of school so that gives us some time.”
“I think we would be safe with Sirius. I know the two of you didn’t part on good terms but he is still your brother.”
Regulus frowned. You were right. He didn’t part on good terms with Sirius. In fact, their last words were down right icy. Regulus would have to do something that he hated doing
apologizing. He knew that he would have to tell Sirius that he was right about everything. That would be a lot like eating dirt but it would have to be done.
I have to apologize to him to have a safe place for Y/n.
Regulus’ grey eyes fluttered back to you. You were busy admiring your engagement ring with a smile on your pretty face. Regulus sighed.
There is nothing that I wouldn’t do for her.
Taking a breath, Regulus sighed.
“You’re right. We didn’t part on good terms but Sirius is my brother. You of all people know that I hate admitting that I am wrong about anything but I was wrong for how I dealt with him.”
You squeezed Regulus’ hand again.
“It's all minor details that we can fix. Now where are we going to get married?”
Regulus started the car and pulled back onto the road.
“I was thinking about the next town over. No one there knows us. It will be easier to get in and out. I only feel guilty that I am not giving you the wedding that you deserve.”
“That is only a minor detail, love. We can always have a wedding later.”
Twenty minutes later, you stood beside Regulus as he filled out the marriage license. The lady at the window had gone off to file some paperwork as if it were just another day. She didn’t seem very interested when the two of you asked to be married. This was just another day at her boring job. The only thing that seemed to spark her interest was the bruise on Regulus’ face.
“Do you think she suspects that we aren’t old enough?”
You whispered. Regulus’ eyes rolled up to the woman as she walked out to find someone to do the ceremony part.
“I think she could care less. Remember, we are being liars. I’m 17 and you're 17.”
You nodded as an older man walked up. He took the certificate while looking between Regulus and yourself.
“Are you the two looking to get married?”
Regulus nodded.
“Yes, we are.”
The older man frowned.
“How old are the two of you?”
Regulus was a lot more confident than you at the moment.
“We are 17 and old enough.”
The man again looked between Regulus and yourself. He wasn’t a fool. In his 30+ years of being in his job, he had seen enough kids sneaking to get married. This appeared to be yet another one of those cases but something also felt different. Whether it be the rough state that Regulus was in or the nervous expression on your face, something told him that this was a big deal.
“Indeed you are. Come with me.”
The next fifteen minutes were a blur for you. You wished that you could have enjoyed the moment a little more. Part of you was worried that Walburga and Orion would burst into the room before everything could be completed. If they did, you knew that they would kill Regulus. You noticed that Regulus had one eye on the door too. Clearly, he was having the same thought process as you.
Regulus felt bad that he wasn’t as present in the moment as he had hoped he would be. Feeling on edge and barely paying attention seemed like a shitty way to start your lives together. The only thing making Regulus feel somewhat okay was the promise that he could give you something better later.
Mum and Dad won’t be able to do shit now. I no longer care about the Black family legacy. I don’t care what any family member has to say about Y/n. They won’t know how truly wonderful she is. If they try to hurt her, I’ll kill them.
Regulus thought as the minister’s voice pulled him from his thoughts.
“Kiss your bride.”
Regulus waited all of two seconds before pulling you into a kiss. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders deepening the kiss. No matter how “off” the situation was, you would make sure that there was at least a decent wedding kiss.
Walking out of the office, you squeezed Regulus’ hand. For the first time since he came and took you away, you felt as if you could somewhat breathe. Now you at least had the promise that what you had with Regulus couldn’t be taken away.
“Everything will be okay.”
Regulus said softly. You stopped walking and moved to wrap your arms back around him.
“Yes, it will. Now let's go talk to Sirius.”

honest work. regulus black.
regulus is dead and it is now up to you to defend his honor.
reposted from my old account.
warnings: canon compliant death
pairing: past regulus black x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Regulus never told you he was leaving, he never told you his plans. You woke up in a cold, dark, empty room with no one lying beside you. The sheets on his side of the bed were freezing and had been kicked off the bed haphazardly. The night before had been rough, you had ended up arguing over everything you were missing out on while seeking refuge inside the house that was given to Regulus as a graduation gift. His involvement with the Dark Lord had done immense damage to your relationship but it was held together by his promises – promises that things were not as they seemed.
In return, you had lost your job but, most importantly, your friends who had become family because of your predicament. They were never accepting of your relationship. The younger version of you that got yourself into this mess was naive. You were a sixteen-year-old chasing a forbidden love. Now, as an almost nineteen-year-old, you were in far too deep. Everything that was part of you, or what you owned, was dedicated to and also owned by Regulus. There was no you without him, once everyone else had turned their back on you.
The deepest parts of you still loved Regulus, of course. Your skin begged for his touch and your brain urged to see him and hear his voice. But, he did not align with your beliefs. Any chance of change he had shown in your Hogwarts years had been ripped to shreds the minute you graduated. But, you never left. You had lost everything, and you refused to lose him, too.
Beside you, placed gently on the pillow your lover used every night, was a rolled-up parchment. Your heart sunk at the sight, mind racing.
Unrolling it, you felt bile work its way up your throat as you began to read it.
“Y/n,
I apologize for leaving so abruptly. Sometimes, when the moment is right, you must not let anything stop you. I need you to believe every word I say.
I have found something that may put an end to all of this – this war that I know has put a strain on us, especially your well-being. I never meant for things to become this way.
He has created an object that makes him... stronger than the average mortal. I know where it is located and hopefully, I will destroy it. I know I am being vague, but I swear it is for your protection.
I do not know if or when I will return. I need you to promise me that you will move on, worse comes to worst. The thought of you in pain over my decision pains me more than anything I could face on this journey. My last thoughts will be of only you. I am still as in love with you as I was the first day we met, but I regret infiltrating your life with my poor choices.
With all of my love,
R.A.B.
Please burn after reading.”
Your body shook as you clutched the parchment to your chest. You knew Regulus would not be returning, or else he wouldn’t have left this letter. You would never hold or kiss him again, never have him inside you again. You would never smell his cologne throughout the house or bury your nose in his hair again.
After the initial comedown from reading the letter, your thoughts were jumbled: had Regulus told the truth? Was he lying when he promised things weren’t as they seemed? The letter seemed to confirm his claims, but what if it was just another lie?
Standing up on shaky legs, you made your way to the desk that Regulus spent many nights hunched over. You began writing a letter to Sirius about Regulus’ death, but you left out all of the parts regarding why it happened. You didn’t think about how Sirius may react. You never expected a letter in return just a few days later, asking you to meet him.
You should’ve expected that James and Remus would also be accompanying him. What you thought would be a deep conversation about Regulus quickly turned into an interrogation. The men in front of you wasted no time with pleasantries, immediately diving into what Sirius had said they would be coming for. “He died during a mission-,” you started. You were cut off by Sirius, who had grown tired of you struggling to find the right words to say.
“Stop telling me that he died! I want to know how,” Sirius demanded. You shook your head and looked down.
“I don’t know what else to tell you, Sirius, when I’m not quite sure myself.” you spit out, still not lifting your head to look at him. “He left me a letter. That is all I know and even that didn’t explain much.”
“A letter? So he left, presumably on a mission, and got himself killed doing it. Bloody idiot, if only he’d grown a backbone-,” Sirius started but was interrupted.
“You are so ignorant, Sirius. You know nothing about him and what he was doing. He wasn’t the boy you left behind in that house, he changed. But, you? You’re still an entitled dickhead. You can’t think for one minute that maybe, just maybe, your brother looked up to you. He wanted to escape, too, but he never had the resources you did. He didn’t have loving friends that he could run to. You don’t get it, Sirius, you don’t know how badly he wanted out of there after you left. I am not going to sit here and listen to you when Regulus died to help your cause,” you said. You started crying again and covered your face with your hands.
The three men in front of you glanced at each other. For once in his life, Sirius didn’t know what to say. Instead, James spoke up. “He died for our cause? What’d you mean by that?”
“He didn’t tell me everything, even asked that I burn the letter after I read it. But, he mentioned something about Voldemort being stronger than mortals and that he knew how to stop him from being so. I figured that if anyone deserved to know now that he’s gone, it would be you.”
You silently prayed to the Gods that Regulus wasn’t frowning down upon you right now. You had gone directly against his dying wish, but you knew this secret couldn’t die with him. Others needed to know that Regulus Black did not die as a cowardly supporter of Voldemort.
“Could you give us a moment?” Sirius asked, turning towards James and Remus. The two boys nodded and got up from the table, finding something else to do. Sirius couldn’t meet your eye, instead focusing his gaze on his clasped hands. “Could you tell me more about him?” he whispered.
You stared at him, shocked. “He was angry at you, but not because of your beliefs. He was heartbroken that you left him in that house, but as we got older, he was even angrier at himself for being angry at you.” Sirius ducked his head even lower and you stopped yourself from reaching out and putting your hand on his shoulder.
“Regulus and I had talked about starting a family. If we had a son, he wanted to give him the middle name ‘Sirius’. We spent a lot of nights talking about our future, in hopes of getting the chance to even have one.” You choked on your tears before continuing, “One of his promises to me was that when everything settled down, he would try to reconnect with you.”
“But, I never even attempted to give him a chance,” Sirius trailed off. You nodded, stoically. You weren’t going to show pity on him. Consumed by your grief, you couldn’t imagine that Sirius was capable of feeling an ounce of what you felt. He had turned his back on Regulus while you did everything to keep him in one piece. Sirius knew nothing. “What else did he promise you?”
You sighed, slouching in your seat faintly. “He promised that we would get married. Part of that promise was that he’d have reconnected with you by then. You’d be at the wedding. He also promised that we would get rid of Grimmauld Place since that place is full of terrible memories. Now, with everyone being dead other than you, it’s yours.” You had to pause before you continued. Sirius looked as though he had been presented with the worst news of his life.
“You were always his older brother. He loved you, Sirius.” You picked up a tissue and tried to rid your face of the tears. Exhaustion had taken its toll on you and you hung your head. “I’m sorry, I’m not sure how much more I can say right now. I haven’t gotten to grieve yet, you know,” you mumbled. Sirius nodded and twisted the rings on his finger, showing his nerves.
You stood up to leave the table, not sure how to end the conversation, but Sirius reached out and grabbed your wrist. “If you ever get overwhelmed being in that house, you can stay at mine. I’m not there much these days, anyway,” he said.
“As kind as that is, I don’t think I can part with it just yet.”
Six months later, you sat in front of a grave – one that read “Regulus Arcturus Black.” You had asked for a special inscription on it, “A loved partner and brother.”
It was hard for you to come to his grave, mainly because there was never a body to bury. The first time you came and arranged a small selection of flowers, it felt like you were lying to yourself. Surely, Regulus wasn’t dead? How could you be proclaimed dead when there was no body? You knew you weren’t making sense – Kreature had confirmed Regulus’s death. That was all the proof you needed.
However, as you sit facing his grave today, you finally feel as though his presence is there with you. “I wish things would’ve gone differently, but I’m sure you did, too.” A light laugh slipped from your mouth and you looked at the flowers that had rotted since the last time you were there.
“I miss you every day, Reg. Every morning, I still reach for you. Your office is the same as the day you left it. I can’t bring myself to change anything that was once yours, in fear that I’ll forget the small things about you. I can’t move your opened book on the symbolism of thestrals, or flip the page from the one you left it on. Every once in a while, I find a piece of your clothing that managed to escape the wash – I can’t bring myself to wash them because they still smell like you.” A few tears slipped from your eyes as you spoke. You absentmindedly plucked the wilted flowers from the ground, tossing them somewhere behind you.
“I still love you like I would have if you were here with me. Sirius has started to come around, too. Your death has finally set into him. He regrets how things went,” you mumbled. The wind picked up, sending chills down your spine. Regulus’s hands were always cold, leaving you to almost imagine it was him embracing you.
“This war will end one day, darling. When it does, I will make sure you are remembered for who you really were. I love you,” you said.

Summary ! Regulus comforts you in need of a sickness.
Word count: 188 words

In a need of comfort, you stumbled yourself into Regulus's dorm, clingy onto him, Regulus wasn't really soft like this, most of it was stripped away from his mother. it came to a surprise to him when you sat in his lap, rubbing against his chest like a cat.
Flu wasn't exactly well known in Hogwarts, but you abuse it to your advantage just to get more and more clingy with Regulus. A hypocrite you are, not wanting to leave him but not wanting to get sick. sitting on his lap, whining about how he'll get sick too.
"For the last time, darling. I don't care if I get sick.''
Burying his face into your hair, smelling your shampoo and savouring the sweet smell of it.Tilting your head up, before having a taste of you.
"Well. I do hope you get sick so you can stay with me longer."
"That's very selfish of you." He hummed, letting out a chuckle, clinging to him, almost like sticking to him by the glue.
"Can you guys shut the fuck up?" Barty, shutting his curtains, away from the two lovers.

center . regulus is incredibly light on his feet, and consequently extremely fast, able to weave through the opposing players almost as if it’s nothing. not much of a fighter, yet has still come home to you a few times with the beginnings of a bruise blooming under his skin and small scrapes here and there after a particularly nasty one. getting him to do media is like pulling teeth, especially after a hard loss. promises to teach you how to skate if you can’t already, and refuses to let go of his hold on your waist until you’re one hundred percent confident in your abilities. the moment you’re stable, though ,he’s challenging you to races, taking off before you can even say ‘go’ with a smug smile etched onto his face.

hey!! so I just requested a James (or Sirius) fic where he finds fairy!reader in the forest with a damaged wing and helps her, and I was wondering if you could actually write it with Regulus instead 😅 (again, there’s no need if you don’t want to write it, and I’d be fine with any of the three)
thank you!!
today is multiverse monday, send me any au you can think of! :)
--
The moment Regulus sees your tiny body plummet to the water, his heart stops. He had not been expecting you to fly over the lake while he was skipping stones, but the splash from one of the particularly heavy ones he'd chosen doused your wings, and you'd fallen instantly.
He rushes in without a second thought, but he's glad you're in shallow waters, because he can't swim.
He scoops your tiny, trembling form off of the surface of the water where you'd been trying to float. Your wings are soaked through, pathetically droopy, and you give a feeble cough as he totes you back to shore.
"I'm sorry," He rushes to apologize, the legs of his trousers wet as he sits back on the grass. He has a hard time finding his wand in the tall grass by the lake, but once he does a drying spell is tumbling from his lips, and you're devoid of all lake water.
You're still weak with your adrenaline crash when you sit up in his palm, looking disoriented and defeated as you stare warily up at him.
"I'm sorry," He repeats, dark eyes oozing with sympathy, "I didn't mean to hit you. Are you okay?"
"I'm dry," You marvel, glancing at his wand, "Thank you."
"Don't mention it." He shakes his head, "You're not hurt, are you?"
"I don't think so," You muse, wobbling to your feet as Regulus tries keeping his hand as steady as possible. You lurch sideways at an involuntary tremor, and he juts his thumb out so that you can grab it for stability.
"Sorry," He moves to put you down in the grass, but you cling to his thumb like a lifeline.
"You have pretty hair," You muse, walking up his arm like a tightrope as your wings drop golden dust from their glittering surface, "Can I fix it for you?"
"Uh," Regulus blanches as you flutter beside his head, miniscule fingers combing through his individual strands of hair, "Um, I suppose? What are you going to do?"
"I'll braid it like mine," You offer, turning your head so that Regulus can see a small, fragile braid running up the side of your bun.
"Alright," He nods slowly, then, "What were you doing over the lake?"
"I wanted to say hi to the fish," You explain, fingers already grouping and twisting his hair, "They're my friends."
"That's cool." Regulus keeps his eyes on the waters surface, knowing there's a lot more than fish down there, "Have you ever met the squid?"
"Oh, yes!" You nod cheerily, and Regulus shudders as the way your hands rake through his hair sends a shiver up your spine, "He likes the gifts I give him."
"Gifts?"
"Mostly flowers," You nod, "Speaking of: Can you hand me that daisy there, please?"
Regulus plucks the thin green stem from the grass, holding it up to you cautiously, "Why?"
"It's pretty in your hair," You explain simply, tucking the flower into his braid.
--
The flower doesn't last ten minutes in his hair after you flutter away. In fact, Regulus hunches in the shadows of the castle to undo the strands you've woven together in his hair, shaking it out before anyone sees him. But the daisy he slips between two pages of an old textbook, and when it's charmed to be unbreakable, the dried flower goes in his pocket.

I saw a post that said to tell you about our HP headcannons. I guess mine is more like an AU/headcannon. But whenever I listen to the band “Loveless”, I always imagine Regulus as the one singing the songs. Everything is still the same as in the books (magic and his family, but maybe no Voldemort). But he’s just a punk-ish/alternative/emo rock (not sure what exactly you’d call it, but all those came up when I looked it up) singer and is super popular at school but is just the most down-to-earth person to literally everyone around him. He’s still a pure blood and everything too, but doesn’t really care about “keeping a pure bloodline”. I don’t know, that’s just my thoughts lol. Hope you enjoyed the little tour through my mind!
-
I really like this! I love Regulus as a punk rock type of singer. I feel like he’d definitely be one if there was no Voldemort and still be nice to everyone despite his popularity. I also feel like he would kind of take inspiration for his style from Sirius.

A Christmas Story
Part One

Black Manor, London
Evanora thought she’d be strong enough to walk the halls of Black Manor without faltering. She thought her thighs, her legs, and her feet would stand the weight of her crushed soul and spirit. She was wrong. Never had she expected her heart would end up cradled between Evan’s nimble fingers. Never had she been so grateful that he’d caught her as she was headed for the ground.
There was no look shared between the two of them as he offered up his arm. She didn’t thank him for supporting her, not that she needed to. Neither did he thank her for appearing at his side when no one else would. Not that he needed to.
" My feet hurt." Evanora mumbled. She wanted nothing more than to kick her shoes off and lay across the cold ballroom floor.
" Shall I carry you on my back, your Ladyship? "
If looks could injure, Evan would be
impaled on a chandelier somewhere around the estate. He bowed at the waist in the exaggerated manner he grew accustomed to behaving in when he felt the chill of his own awkwardness take over the moment, a habit he’d picked up seemingly from thin air.
" You think you’re oh so funny. "
" Hilarious actually. " He swapped her empty champagne glass for a full one. " Reggie has admitted it. You know how difficult it is to make him say anything. "
Evanora took a deep breath. She willed herself to feel the air travelling through her lungs.
" Speaking of which." Her voice wavered on the last syllable, unease laced through every sound.
Neither the witch, nor the pearl choker sitting around her neck could escape the torment of being prey. The agony of a never ending game of will they, won't they. Will or won't Evanora succumb to her intrusive thoughts and rip the strings of pearls away from her skin? Will she or won't she remain the prey her kind pounces on?

" Andy! " Narcissa called out from her sister's vanity area. " May I borrow a fan, please? The green one! With the lace! "
Andromeda clutched the top edge of her corset in a death grip that was sure to leave marks on the fabric. She closed her eyes and prayed to the founders that this too, they'd make pass. As her hands slid to her stomach, she silently moaned in pain and prayed again.
" I think Bella took it! " She cried out, hoping she didn't sound strange to her sister’s ear.
A beat of silence later, Narcissa made herself heard again. The sound of it boomed through the adjoined rooms, cutting through the bathroom door in one swift blow loud enough to startle Andromeda.
" Alright! I'll be with Bella, Andy darling! "
When the door had closed and Andromeda was sure she was all alone, she slumped against the cold tile floor and sobbed a river. Never had a Black witch ever put herself in such a situation, nevermind in this day and age.
Andy thought back to the time she’d made fun of Celestia Selwyn, now Mrs. Nott, when she’d ended up in the same predicament. Poor Celestia had ended up trapped in a marriage to a man two decades, her senior, just to end up losing her salvation a day after the ceremony. Andy had weeped for her back then. Now, who would weep for poor Andromeda Black ?
Oh how cruel men's designs were, forcing a bright young woman into a lion trap just to starve her.

Irrevocably Broken (Part 3)
Regulus Black AU
Request:  Hello!! Can you possibly do a story where regulus cheats, and then years later he finds out he has a son? Also I love your stories, you’re my favorite writer on here. <3
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M- smut
Link to Part 2
______
Waking up the next morning, you frowned when your eyes opened. The room that you woke up in was completely unfamiliar. You had never been here before. The moment you felt someone move, your eyes widened. Rolling over carefully, your mouth dropped the moment that you saw a very naked Regulus lying beside you.
I’m very naked too...what happened?
You thought before remembering what happened the last night at the bar.
Oh...that wasn’t a dream
You thought as you turned back to Regulus. All of these years later, he still slept the same. You wanted nothing more than to take his forearm off his eyes and look at his face. All of these years later, Regulus was still as handsome as he was at 18. The light strands of grey in his hair were the only thing that showed any signs of aging. Whatever he was doing, clearly worked.
There is no point in trying to deny that I have feelings.
You thought before closing your eyes. How you were going to explain this to Julian was still a mystery on its own. Maybe you wouldn’t have to tell your son right away? Maybe when you did, Julian would take it okay.
No, he won't. Julian is going to have a hard time with this. Like his father, he doesn’t handle change well.
You decided to cross that bridge once you got to it. Shoving the thought of your teenage son from your mind, you decided to get up and slip out as quickly as possible. Maybe Regulus wouldn’t hear and you could somehow put all of this behind you. Even if you only had the memories of the night to keep you company, it was at least better than nothing.
Right as you put your feet on the floor, Regulus’s voice stopped you.
“Are you leaving?”
Turning, you gave him a nervous look.
“What did we do, Regulus?”
Regulus smirked.
“We proved to each other that we still have zero tolerance when it comes to alcohol. Is it so bad? Waking up with each other, like we used to.”
“If we were still married there would be no problem. So what are we going to do? Pretend that this didn’t happen and go along our merry way?”
Regulus frowned, as he moved to sit up. As the sheet fell, your eyes widened seeing a large scar across Regulus’ chest.
“Regulus, what is that?”
Regulus didn’t even have to look down to know what you were referring to. His grey eyes locked on your face as he took a breath.
“I think you know exactly what this is.”
You sat back down on the bed unable to look away from the angry red scar.
“That is a werewolf scar
Regulus
when?”
Regulus leaned back against the pillow. His eyes locked on the ceiling as he remembered the second worst day of his life. That day fell right behind the day he came home and you were gone.
“About ten years ago. Greyback had it in for me and long story short
he won.”
Fenrir Greyback
That was one of the names that you hated more than any other. You had a slight against the monster of a man since you learned how he hurt Remus. Now hearing (and seeing) what he did to Regulus, your hatred is magnified tenfold.
“I had no idea.”
You managed to get out. Regulus sighed. He hated knowing that you were going to be the one to see his weakness. Regulus would much rather have just been able to tell you. In time he would have. That wouldn’t be the first thing that would come out of his mouth.
“It isn’t something that I broadcast. I would be ruined as an attorney if that were to get out. I’ve kept it hidden
until now. Convenient that you are the one to find out too. If you really wanted to screw me over, you have the ammunition to do it. “
Frowning, you decided to lie back down. With all of the information that you had just received, lying seemed to be the best idea. You turned your head to stare at Regulus with hurt eyes. Regardless of what happened between the two of you, your heart was broken. If you needed any more of a sign that you still cared for Regulus this was the one.
“Regulus, I am not going to screw you over. I’m so sorry that you have had to live with this.”
Regulus sighed miserably. All of the work that he had been putting into hopefully winning you over was now down the drain.
“Shit storms happen. I suppose that I won’t be seeing you again.”
“Why?”
You questioned. Regulus got out of bed and pulled his abandoned pants on.
“Because why would you want to be with someone like me? If the truth ever gets out, your reputation will be ruined. Not to mention our son’s reputation. He has potential and he doesn’t need to be ruined by having a werewolf for a father.”
You lay quietly for a moment before moving to get up. Regulus had moved to look out the window and into the street below. Staring at Regulus, you couldn’t help but be curious if this was the second chance that you had secretly longed for.
“I could care less about reputations. I can also tell you that Julian doesn‘t give a good goddamn about what people think of him. Please don’t use this as a reason to stop coming around.”
Regulus turned with a frown.
“What do you need me for? You have made it without me. Neither Julian nor yourself clearly goes without. You have made it clear that there isn’t anything between us. You have been keeping up this tough act that I can’t get through anymore.”
“It's because I’m afraid.”
You replied. Regulus stared at you for a moment before coming back to you. He gently took your hands in his.
“Nothing scares you.”
You pressed your lips together before getting the courage to look back into Regulus’ eyes.
“A lot of things scare me. I was scared when you had the affair. I was terrified when I left you. When I saw you again, I was absolutely petrified that I would fall in love with you again. I’m not scared of that. I’m scared that I will love you again and you will change your mind.”
Regulus gently moved to cup your face.
“I’m not going to change my mind. I’m not the stupid kid that I used to be. Y/n, I’m not asking you to jump into anything quickly. I know we have both changed
obviously I have changed. I’m sorry for what I have put you through. You didn’t deserve to raise Julian alone. Knowing that you went through the pregnancy and everything alone
I won’t forgive myself for that for a very long time.”
Hearing those words leave his mouth made you feel better. These were the words that you longed to hear. Everything felt very sincere. You, of all people, knew when Regulus was lying. You could spot Regulus in a lie from a mile away. This, today, was honesty.
“Yes, we have changed. We have both gone through things alone that we should have gone through together. We can change that. “
Regulus moved to wrap his arms around you. Placing his forehead against yours, he took a breath. This felt like the first time that he had been able to breathe in 14 years.
“What are we going to tell Julian?”
Regulus asked. Julian was still a tough subject for him. While he was thrilled to have a son, Julian wasn’t making things easy at all for Regulus. Julian was a tough egg to crack. Regulus couldn’t blame him for this behavior either. Julian was simply protecting both himself and his mother. That was an admirable trait
even if it was making things hard for Regulus.
“We have until Christmas before we have to cross that bridge. Let's see how things go then simply talk to him. If he sees that I am happy, he may be more receptive.”
Regulus only nodded. He hoped that you were right.
(8 weeks later)
“Go ahead, Sirius. Just tell me and get it over with.”
You said, putting your head in your hands. It had been a little over 8 weeks since the night of drunken sex with Regulus and your period was late. After a second week of no period, you had broken down and bought a test (and told Sirius).
Sirius gave you a wary expression. When you told him about getting sloppy drunk and sleeping with Regulus, he was immediately concerned. Over the past few weeks, his worry vanished as Regulus began to show true signs of change. He wasn’t the spoiled self absorbed boy that Sirius remembered. Now he was going out of his way to come to you every evening
and acted like a husband.
“Before I read it, just know that, like last time, you have my full support. You don't have to go through anything alone. I also think this time you will have Regulus on your side too.”
You took a breath and leaned back into your chair. How were you going to spring this on Regulus? The two of you had agreed to take things slow. Slow seemed to be the best way to not only mend your broken relationship but to also get to know one another again. Throwing an unexpected pregnancy into the mix seemed like a way to sabotage everything.
“Sirius, please read the results.”
Sirius looked down at the test and took a breath.
“Positive.”
Sirius watched as the color drained from your face. He quickly stood up to sit next to you.
“Y/n, look at me. Everything will be okay.”
You stood up to briefly pace the room before focusing on Sirius.
“I have an ex-husband who is acting like my boyfriend again. Our relationship isn’t perfect. Not to mention a teenage son who is really hard to love sometimes...what am I going to do with a baby?”
Sirius stood up. He walked over and placed his hands on either side of your face. You seemed to calm when you stopped spiraling and met his eyes.
“Look at me. Y/n, we never know what life is going to throw at us. You can’t always plan and you can’t always prepare. This is one of those things that is just one of life’s little oopsies. You have something this time that you didn’t have last time. This time you have Regulus. Something tells me that under the snark and sass, he has grown up. Julian will be okay and so will this baby. You are a wonderful mother.”
You nodded, taking in Sirius’ words. He was right. You did have Regulus this time. This time Regulus was completely into you. You could only hope that this time, Regulus would live up to the pretty words that he had been saying. Hopefully, this time it wasn’t manipulation.
“Thanks, Sirius. I should go to talk to Regulus. The sooner he knows, the better.”
An hour later, you stood outside of Regulus’ office in the Ministry. Taking a breath, you knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
Regulus’ voice called from the other side of the door. Taking a breath, you stepped inside. Regulus looked up from the large book in front of him. He immediately smiled. Standing up, Regulus pushed the book and paperwork to the side.
“Hello darling, this is a surprise.”
He moved to give you a soft kiss.
“Yeah, Regulus, I need to talk to you
I
.I don’t know how to
.”
Regulus frowned. Tilting his head to the side, he couldn't help but worry that you came down to end things. If you had, Regulus was going to swear off love forever.
“Y/n, what is it?”
Regulus asked calmly. He was used to dealing with nervous people. When it came to questioning nervous people in court, Regulus had become a pro.
You, meanwhile, had tried to get the words out but failed. Stammering seemed to be the only thing that you were able to do. Taking a deep breath, you knew it was time to get it out.
“Regulus, I’m pregnant.”
You watched as Regulus’ nervous expression faded. He only stared at you with a surprised expression.
“You're pregnant?”
You nodded.
“Yes, I took a test today because I hadn’t had my period. It had to happen that night when we were drunk. How are you staying so calm?”
Regulus frowned. While he was calm on the outside, on the inside he was panicking. You were pregnant...again. You were having his baby and nothing was planned. Whether it was planned or not, Regulus would still panic. He was a werewolf and you were having a baby. Now the fear of his condition magnified.
Disappearing into his mind, Regulus had to talk himself down before he could comfort you.
I can’t let her see me panic. She is clearly scared enough without my crazy. This could be the start to the life she and I deserve
This could be the key to keeping her in my life
I only have to handle this right.

I had a vision. Regulus. Fur cloak. Snow. Red nose and rosy cheeks. (Edit : everyone saying he’s Jon snow — you’re wrong. He’s clearly Sansa.)

been thinking about this lately: au where regulus is remus’ doctor; regulus and sirius have a good relationship and sirius occasionally drops by regulus’ practice to have lunch, only to end up flirting shamelessly and inappropriately for months with his little brother’s big brown eyed patient. on the other hand, however, remus is not to be trusted to go to the doctor by himself, and so how could his over protective best friend james potter ever let him go alone? and oh, isn’t remus’ mean doctor just the most outrageously attractive man he’s ever seen?

love that hc where james doesn’t really like being called “jamie” but goes absolute stupid when regulus calls him that. i mean, in general, he’s all so grumpy and frustrated that no one bothers to just add a fucking s to “james”, but whenever reg says it so casually like “thank you for the tea, jamie” or “no, i’m not busy, jamie” or “that’s alright, jamie” his mind just goes lalala i’m so in love hihi
