Here's the lovely Eliza, in a deep emerald satin gown with Renaissance style slashed sleeves, flanked by her daughter in lilac and son in a tawny waistcoat. It's my fourth backer portrait for the tabletop RPG DANDIES & DANDYZETTES!

🌿 || You may only call me "Mrs Grayskull" when you are completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy || 🌿
Made something quick for my Pride and Prejudice AU. I've been deeply missing this story and wanted to do something sweet for it. Had a beautiful time rewatching the movie while I was working on it, to nobody's surprise because this is my favorite.
Based on the extra final scene of the movie ')

Cressida Cowper being so excited by the prospect of five thousand pounds and making all these plans of using it to fund herself is so strange, because that money would be NOTHING to the nobility if it's all they had to live off. We're talking £200 or £250 interest a year.
In Pride and Prejudice that's the same as what the Bennets will have when Mr Bennet dies - the paltry amount that will send them into genteel poverty and makes the need for the daughters to marry so urgent.
It's HALF what the Dashwood women have when they're struggling to get by in Sense and Sensibility, and can only afford the most basic of servants and live off a reduced rent in a cottage owned by a distant cousin. Their mother can't even go out to dinners often because they don't have the money to reciprocate the gesture!
Also in Sense and Sensibility it's the amount of income the living Colonel Brandon offers to Edward Ferrars produces - which was considered not enough for him and Lucy to live on.
I mean as a dowry it's not bad for someone in the middle or lower rungs of the gentry, but for NOBILITY??? And let alone a sole income source. With that sort of money Cressida either is being completely delusional that she wouldn't have to marry, or she better rent a room off a respectable woman (a house of her own would be too much - not to mention the difficulties of an unmarried young woman trying to legally sign an agreement), learn how to sew her own clothes, cook, and clean reaaaally fast.

Girls' Accessory Pantalettes - 4 versions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey! Do you want accessory pantalettes for children? Well, here they are! These were requested by @inlovewithregencyera.
BGC
Found in the leggings category
Come in 4 lengths - V1 is ankle-length and V4 ends a bit below the knees.
Pantalettes taken from Kirsten's Winter Outfit (though I do realize that's not where they're originally from. that's where I got em)
2 swatches - plain white and with a subtle lace texture at the bottom (which, in hindsight, isn't particularly noticeable in-game. But you can see it in CAS!)
Not all socks are compatible with the texture, but one pair I've found to generally work well are the Tea Socks from this pack
I don't recommend combining them with dresses shorter than knee-length or anything with preexisting pantalettes. It doesn't look good.
Some dresses also end up sort of... highjacking the pantalette texture.
Tumblr media
HOWEVER, this can actually end up looking alright! While most pantalettes were white, they did sometimes match the dresses. But then again, the dresses were usually white as well.
Vertices: 289
Polygons: 289
Known issues:
They do a strange exploding thing in certain situations. I've noticed it in CAS, household portraits (the ones seen in the household manager), and the portrait in the bottom left corner in Live Mode. It doesn't seem to be an issue in gameplay though! And it only SOMETIMES occurs in cas. If it's very annoying, switching to another outfit and then back to the one you were editing should get rid of the exploding.

Some compatible dresses (used in the previews):

2: Cecile Nightgown
3: Josefina's School Outfit
4: 1896 CF Dress
Download (SFS) (i'm on sfs now!!)

English aristocrats from Regency stories calling bastards "natural son/daughter" will never stop being funny to me.
Is the child your wife bore unnatural sir? Are their eyes too wide and fingers too long and ears too keen? Do they have sharp teeth, and a tendency to howl at the moon? Or is your 'other' child Mowgli of the woods? Which one is it? Tell me.

Help Me Pick My Next RPG Thing, Part 2!
Well, the most votes went to "More Pulp Cthulhu or related" so...
(I'm including all the various Call of Cthulhu stuff I bought in this category)
I may or may not have a third poll after this.
Edit: Gah, I forgot to put in a "Click Here To See Results" option, I'm so sorry!
I'm gonna randomly pick...Dreamlands.

I know you haven’t talked about it in a bit but I’m the regency au will the fact that Arthur’s children can’t inherit ever be a thing that causes resentment from the kids? (Far in the future of course)
Hi, so the biggest reason I haven't talked about it in a while is that uni is kicking my ass lol. That's why I haven't posted art in a hot minute, let alone any writing. When I'm out of paper hell and on break, I'll hopefully be back at it! I actually wanted to draw some of the kids circa the 1820s when they're older for shits and giggles.
So here's the thing about Regency inheritance, his kids do get something! So, the estate itself and the title the Kirklands hold is entailed. An entail means that only the oldest, closest, legitimate male family member can inherit that title and estate. If you've ever read Pride and Prejudice or seen Downton Abbey, this is why Mr. Collins and Matthew Crawley are relevant. This just means that Alfred will not inherit Alwyn's title and the land.
However, money and non-entailed property is a different story. The land that came from Alasdair, Seán, and Molly's father is not entailed, it was simply property Alwyn and Arthur's father took on when Igraine remarried. It was also common in cases where illegitimate children were acknowledged for their father to put aside money in a trust for their children.
In the case of the Regency AU, Arthur and Alwyn have arranged a trust for each of his children (and a dowry for Eleanor that is ultimately never used). When he's older, Alfred cares less about getting a title and more about being trusted with some responsibility. I'm undecided about whether he'd follow Arthur into the military or if he'd seek employment elsewhere (leaning toward the latter as his little "rebellion"). Matthew is a lot more passive, and I think he's content knowing he's not going to be left out to dry. Similarly, Ralph just wants the freedom to be himself. They're both younger sons anyway, so they never had any of the expectations Alfred might've had. Similarly, Eleanor would not have been up to inherit land anyway, as the youngest and as a woman. She at least has the fortune of having a father who isn't keen on forcing her to marry.
Long story short, while I can see Alfred developing some resentment regarding the lack of trust Arthur puts in him, the inheritance isn't necessarily an issue. They're provided for, they just don't get that title or the estate.

where is my lockwood & co. crossover with bridgerton in which lockwood & co. somehow time travel to the regency period and now have to deal with the time era’s bullshit whilst also figure out how The Problem is a thing in the early 1800’s when it hadn’t even existed… this is exactly what george wants to investigate. they get dragged to a time where The Problem was active and yet it has never been documented. meanwhile, locklyle were just getting their footing and being semi-more-flirty each other and now they can’t interact in private without a goddamn chaperone. do you think that stops either one of them— fuck no. but it creates so many fun situations. and in total, the trio goes out nightly more or less every time there’s ghost activity.
#i like to think that it took a while for children to develop the seeing ghosts thing#like some of the kids right now in the regency era can see weird stuff or hear weird stuff but are basically told from a young age#to not ‘act out’ or ‘talk like a loony’ etc#and so they had to kind of push it down#till later in the decades talent just increased more until it was just there especially when the problem came a knockin’#eloise goes insane over lucy. like not only does she look vv similar to her litle sister but she’s COOL#and yes there will be a subtle implied subject that lucy is decended from a bridgerton- most likely franny- but its never like a big thing#its mainly ‘oh fuck one of these arseholes is my ancestor and if they die i may cease to exist. oh well.’#and then its lockwood ‘OH FUCK ONE OF THESE ARSEHOLES IS LUCE’S ANCESTORS AND IF THEY DIE SHE MAY CEASE TO EXIST’#so thats why he takes a bigger interest in protecting them more or less; but it’s never gonna be like a HUGE thing its just a thing#who would george get along with#i havent seen bridgerton in a minute#i would write it but i have zero knowledge about regency era stuff#like ill write lockwood & co. in my sleep but i got no clue how the regency era scandal™️ works#do i have to rewatch bridgerton again; im just gonna skip to the s*x scenes we both know this#and the lady danbury scenes too#like thats all i’d end up rewatching#lockwood and lucy#lockwood and co#anthony lockwood#lucy carlyle#george karim#lockwood & co x bridgerton#hyacinth and george can see ghosts totes but the rest of the bridgertons as well as older teens have pushed the talent down#theyre sensitives and thats it#is that how it works#im making it up as i go#should i make a whole new type 4 that can time travel. is that allowed? can anyone stop me?#should lockwood meet kipps’ ancestor and start the rivalry from decades earlier bc he’s THAT petty
