i finally had some time (and energy) to hit the coffee place before work. was there for just an hour but I'm always super productive when i'm there, and it was quite empty when i arrived, which is like impossible these days. i did get a little distracted torwards the end tho, cause a group of old ladies sat in the table next to me and they were gossiping loudly about one of their messy divorces, and well, in my defence it was a quite interesting story! :')

managed to get all the theory and grammar of last lessons into my notebook, and re-do some of the exercises under the explanation. also did the homework for next class, only have the main text of the unit left. so,

1h of active studying, grammar and exercises

30 mins of finnish radio on my commute

20 mins of vlog "Sunnuntai reset: päivä kehon ja mielen hyvinvoinnille - Laura Rosilla"

5 mins of drops vocab (i used this app when i just started learning, that's where i learnt my first ever vocab, but i've decided to start using it again because i'm missing some basic vocab i feel like i need to memorize, even if im learning more "advanced" grammar and vocab. for example, i still don't know the months :D)

If we’re talking about defecting, it was staged and wwx made the choice of his own volition to defect because they both (wwx & jc) knew that JC didn’t have the power (politically and physically) to defend wwx for protecting the wen remnants. For the golden core, JC never asked him to give him his core, if anything he literally lost his core trying to protect wwx. It was a parallel symbolizing the extent that both would go for each other and sacrificing themselves to help the person they love. loved the new acolyte episode. the way it plays with the nuances in the jedi by having indara refuse to get involved bc she wants to do things by the book vs sol who feels this connection to osha, this fear for her well-being and feels that’s more important than any rules. both sides getting angry and paranoid and it leading to aniseya, sol, and torbin reacting emotionally & violently. sol refusing to fight korli because he KNOWS he fucked this up. sol willing to accept the consequences but indara, like sol & the witches, is trying to put this child’s well-being over some arbitrary rule. it’s so good and such a good demonstration of both how the jedi council works to stop conflict and how it is completely unprepared to deal with natural human emotion and error.

and of course, as expected, mae is not The Evil Twin. she sets the fire on accident, it spins out of control, and she’s held into this anger for so long because it’s a justified anger! has it helped her? no! but it’s guarded her heart against the overwhelming grief of losing her entire culture in a moment. and then there’s osha, who has no idea the events she’s set into motion - all she wants is the room to figure out who she is without everyone’s expectations weighing her down!! she’s just a kid!!!!!!

being a comic charles xavier fan is like being in the trenches like yeah we know he sucks! idk why they demonize people who like morally grey/villainous characters and sometimes they judge him based off of stuff that was retconned long ago that stemmed from harmful stereotypes about disabled people at the time 💀

i think my favorite part of the Comic Charles Enjoyer experience is sometimes seeing people act as though he personally went into their house and shot their dog or something
