Huh. I was wrong. Animus got much, much worse. Show of hands, did anyone actually LIKE Kite?

I know that every Ranger with a Wolf theme is legally required to have a 'Go it Alone' episode, but was there REALLY a point to this with Merrick? This was not only something that felt incredibly forced, but also just...dumb. Although his showing true affection to the pub owner was nice.

Master Org confirmed Nice Guy Incel. Who did not have to wear that bald cap, but apparently did it for the bit.

Annnnnnd we continue with Max being played up as Team Child once more. Just gonna throw this out there to appease myself: he was absolutely an only child, probably homeschooled, DEFINTELY over eighteen, but in that weird place where he's so socially awkward that he hasn't even kissed someone yet and doesn't know how to interact with his teammates beyond being the voice of hope and excitement.

Money down, the only reason they had Ransik get half-blown up by three powerful beings and undergo REVERSE mutation was so they could show off Vernon Wells being fucking sexy.

I rolled my eyes so hard at the "fight" between Shayla and Merrick over their "music date" that I think I gave myself vertigo.

*Throws a wrench, an axe, a lawn chair, and a whole ass piano at the writing staff and directors* NO to Alyssa being made into a furry to beg at the feet of a gross monster! SHAME ON YOU!

Okay, did we ever get any background into how Jindrax even HAS a brother? What?? How??

*pokes Princess Shayla with a sharp stick while she sleeps on the ground* This is a really fucking stupid defense mechanism. How are you not dead?

*gently cups Jindrax and Toxica to lightly kiss them on their cute little heads* You continue to be the absolute best part of this series and I don't give a damn what anyone else says. Jindrax, your inferiority complex when it comes to yourself and yourself alone is stellar; and Toxica, you are the boss bitch that we don't deserve and Taylor WISHES she could have been. *MWAH*

Something I think we should talk more about is how humanized Ransik is, AND HOW NICELY THAT'S DONE!!! (At least so far to the ep 14, but I'm confident it'll keep)

It's not only about his sad backstory being told to us early in the season and how this is his motivation unlike the previous villains that were all Space Pirates, Galaxy Coquerors & Emperors, Demons and such, all moved by greed and/or pure desire of destruction and chaos.

It's also about what he (and Nadira, mostly Nadira) does in his lair, besides speak loudly about hating humanity and desiring the complete destruction of the Power Rangers, he and Nadira do... routine stuff. Stuff that we deem as mundane but also can't deny is funny and enjoyable.

In many starts of episodes they are just there, receiving a relaxing massage, watching some goofy TV, taking a hair care routine, taking a shot of the medicine he needs to not die... That's totally different from the previous villains, who were constantly observing the city to come up with an effective way to attack, or even stalking the Rangers themselves to this goal like in Rita & Zed's case...

Even when we had two pirates villains, Ransik's group is the only one who really focused in money several times, he got a mutant to fulfill the sole purpose to steal money... That's an awful thing we see humans doing, some of the moments highlighting their pettiness are petty actions we can totally witness with our own eyes in people around us... It's in the details guys!!

Even when we compare with Trakeena, who was also a typical spoiled preppy girl, in Nadira this characterization is there to humanize her, it comes to add a layer to her character, on contrary to Trakeena, we don't see Nadira launching tantrums because she wants to command an army and her daddy won't allow, or because her daddy doesn't trust her to fight*, or because she is pathetic fighter unable to beat a single minion when everything should be easy for her, we see her complaining of how the food is disgusting and greasy, of how her telenovela was interrupted or of how her hair care was interrupted, petty actions, but petty human actions that you can see even in your house. (*at least in the start, I admit I am ignoring the chance of Ransik's protection over her grow throughout the season as the stakes rises and it lead her to feel he's not trusting as she deserves... Although yet, she indeed showed competence from the start, so wouldn't be just prepotence on her part as she has feats to support her side)

Trakeena lost this trait almost completely when the writers decided she should assume as main villain and thus should be competent, meanwhile Nadira was always portrayed as competent, being able to stand on her own in battle against the Rangers, give ideas and even elaborate plans even though she was such a preppy, they show us her defects but also don't deny her qualities, and both reflect in her actions that are closer to what we can see in people around us than whatever Trakeena may have done.

Oh, sorry I got carried away...

So in short: RANSIK AND NADIRA ARE AMAZING VILLAINS, THE EFFORT DONE FOR THEIR CHARACTERS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW HUMANIZE CHARACTERS, TIME FORCE IS EASILY ONE OF THE MOST MATURE SEASONS OF POWER RANGERS AND THE WRITERS KNEW TO HANDLE THE SUBJECTS AND SUBTEXTS THEY MEANT TO TALK OF

My biggest issue with the boom comics is how most of the time it honestly feels like random sci-fi stories with Power Rangers stuff inserted instead of actual Power Rangers stories.

That and they're oddly insistent on making Eltar villains. Like seriously, there are so many backstories they could explore. The battle against Scorpius. The original sealing of the demons of Mariner Bay. The adventures of the warriors of the Animarium. Time Force's adventures before the fight against Ransik. The original mystic warriors fight against The Master. The Beast War against Dai Shi. The rise of Venjix and downfall of humanity! But no, just keep adding new MMPR rangers and giving villains morphers, that's TOTALLY what people want.

° it started with one of the odd jobs him and rangers do and when he saw you he was in awe becoming and the rangers took note of this with some light teasing from Lucas and some encouraging from Katie

° it takes him a while to build up the confidence to talk to you and then two of you start out as friends with his crush growing in to full on infatuation and when he finally asked you and you return the affection he's on cloud nine

° the first date is a bit of a mess but trips optimism is quite infectious making what should have been a disaster into a enjoyable and memorable in time

° trips kindness knows no bounds especially in y'all's relationship often surprising you with little gifts, trinkets and hand written notes expressing his love for you he waits on you hand a foot and would do anything for you and when you return the sentiment he swoons

° when it comes to being a time traveler and more importantly a ranger worried would be an understatement, he wants nothing more than to keep you safe but knows he has to tell you and when he does eventually he's a nervous wreck stumbling over his words as he explains everything, and if YOU happen to be a ranger from a different team he's both relieved but also asking a lot of questions at of pure curiosity and is excited at the thought of a fighting by your side.

° the whole time traveler thing and being a ranger isn't that big of a shock when it comes to the fact that he's an alien he's honestly surprised by your reaction but you tell him it wasn't that much of a surprise when it comes to the whole ranger aspect

° he loves using pet names Sticking with things like boo,honey, and sweetheart with boo being his most used one when you fill the script and use them on him he gets a little flustered which leads to some light hearted teasing from Lucas

° dates often consist of the two of you cuddling up at the clock tower or at your place enjoying some pizza or other types of fast food and watching movies or the two of you at the park for a picnic date

° he makes a habit of surprising you with breakfast in bed but it mainly consists of cereal and a cup of juice/milk maybe some bacon he's not the best cook but he tries

° when getting intimate he's kind, caring and gentle going slow making sure you're comfortable and enjoying it he will be rough if you ask but he prefers it nice and slow showering you in praise and words of love

° he gushes about you to the rest of the team but circuit is the one who hears about you the most

° he gets pouty when he can't see you for a while and the moment you're within his sight he's rushing to you with open arms

° if he wants something from you like another kiss or cuddle he'll use the puppy dog eyes and it'll work on you sometimes but if you use them on him he folds instantly

° when it comes to anniversaries and, birthdays he'll go all out often asking the other rangers plus circuit for help as he puts every ounce of love into every little detail

° he often dreads thinking of the future and tries not to think about it cause he knows that once him and the rangers job is done he'll have to return to the year 3000 and he'll often wander if you could come with him but apart of him knows he can't

Angst ending

° as the rangers gather at the beach one last time having finally captured ransik and ready to take their leave as they say there tearful goodbyes to wes. Trip makes his way to you tears in his eyes as he pulls you close holding you tight as the two of you share you tearful goodbyes not knowing if you'll ever see each other again,as trip tells you just how much he loves you and that he will never forget promising that he'll find away for you to be together again and to please don't forget him before giving you one last kiss before leaving with the time force ranger as the head back to the year 3000

Fluff ending

° trip paces around the room in the clocktower today was the day him and the rest of the time force rangers head back to the year 3000, he doesn't want to leave you but he has to return back to his time as he rambles to himself he hears a knock snapping him out of his thoughts he see you standing there with bags packed "boo w-whats all this" he asked confused,as you explain that your going with him and how you where already and he's asking a million questions a minute and you simply say "trip i love you and there's no one i want more than you I want to be with you to be by your side. Hearing those words causes trip to break out In a wide smile as he quickly pulls you in for a kiss before grabbing your hand and helping you with some of your bags as you make your way to the beach loading up the ship as you and the rangers say your goodbyes to wes as you head off back to the year 3000.

Katie’s love for her family ran deep, and having her sibling by her side in the Time Force was something she never took for granted. Even in the intense battles, it was comforting to know you were both fighting side-by-side to protect the world. But today’s battle felt different. Katie had just defeated one of Ransik’s mutants when she noticed you struggling.

Seeing you hit by an energy blast and thrown to the ground, Katie’s heart raced. She barely heard the yells of Wes and Trip calling after her as she ran to your side, her focus only on you.

“Katie…” you muttered, wincing as you tried to sit up.

“Don’t move,” she insisted, voice softer than usual. She was usually the strong, unshakable one, but seeing you in pain brought out a fiercely protective side. “I’ve got you.”

Katie held you close, her arms strong and steady. “You’re going to be okay,” she assured, checking over your injuries. “But if you ever pull a stunt like that again, I swear—”

You laughed weakly, feeling her arms shake a bit despite her tough front. “You’re as stubborn as always.”

She chuckled, tears pricking her eyes but quickly brushed them away. “Hey, we Walkers don’t back down easily,” she said, grinning. “Now come on, let’s get you patched up. We’ve still got a world to save—together.”
