hitoshi shinso, who’s facetimes with you always run late into the night. you ramble on about your day while he hums in response, knowing that you know he’s not the talkative type. he never asks “how was your day?” he always says “tell me about your day.” because he really, truly wants to hear about your day. you could have cured a disease or simply just gotten out of bed, and he’d still want to hear every single detail simply because its from you.

hitoshi shinso, who loves to cook. only you're aware of it, because he doesn't always like sharing personal details with others, but you never complained- it just means more for you. you're always the first person that gets to try his food, though he claims you're not a very good critic. but you can't help it, everything he makes tastes so good. and with every compliment you shower him in, he'll hit you with a 'yeah, yeah, whatever.' and then next moment, make you more so you can always stay fed during long days at UA and long hours during hero-training. its his silent way of telling you he loves you.

hitoshi shinso, whose cats love you more than they love him. he has three triplets, a black british short hair, a siamese, and a grey ragdoll- pepper, lexi, and mustache- he absolutely hates the last name, but he had just adopted the kitten and you named it for its white streak right below its nose. he'll deny it forever, but he gets pouty and huffs in annoyance whenever he sees the cats run to you, even after he's fed and taken care of them for all of their lives. but he also cant deny the way his heart skips a beat whenever he seems them cuddled up with you on his bed, wearing one of his big t-shirts. it softens his heart in a way that nothing else does- your love fills his heart more strongly and more passionately than anything does.

hitoshi shinso, who is the closed-off, funny but quiet dickhead of his friend group. he's known for his out-of-pocket roasts at the right times and his nonchalant nature that contrasts with the loud, spunkiness of his multicolored-haired friends. but with you, he softens. the few times he's brought you along with him to movie night or training sessions, you've softened his heart enough for the love in him to seep out towards others as well. whenever you crack a joke, make someone else at the table smile, and draw laughs and happiness from their chests, a blush blooms across his cheeks. obviously, he fell for you, how could he not?

hitoshi shinso, who's favorite activity with you is your sunday-ritual. you'll wake up together, either in the same bed or over the phone, and bike down to the coast. you'll bug him about wearing a helmet, but he always complains that it ruins your hair. he'd never admit that its because he thinks you're absolutely adorable when you dote on him. afterwards he'll share a smoothie with you- he hates all the flavors except for mixed berry, which is the one he always insists on getting. he hates the the overpricing for what the product actually is, but loves the smile it puts on your face after a tiring bike-ride. and afterwards, you two will go back to either his of your place. his place if your parents aren't home, and his place when his parents are home, and binge watch a long t.v show of your choosing. he'll always complain that its stupid, poorly written or drawn out, but get pouty whenever you watch an episode without him. it's the one thing he looks forwards to at the end of a long week, drawn out with endless studies, training, and burnout. you're his safe place, and he needs it more than he'll admit.

hitoshi shinso, who somehow remembers every tiny detail about you. his mind works like gears, arranging formulas and deciphering codes, but the intellect of his mind makes you its priority. he remembers the way you pick your nails and cuticles when you have anxiety, and how placing his warm palm over yours soothes some of those thoughts. he remembers how prefer to tie your hair back during training but how you somehow always forget a hair tie- and he knows how you always give him a peck on his cheek once he shows off the one he's been keeping on his wrist for you. he remembers how you can't sleep without your nightly calls, and how he needs to hear your voice before he drifts of too- maybe more than you need it. he remembers the first day you met, the first thing he said to you, the first time he ever felt love for you. he remembers all of it and keeps it embedded in his heart. hitoshi shinso may seem like he hates everyone, but the one exception to that is you. and he'll remember that forever.

Hi! I have a question regarding your post about how coat patterns can effect paw pad and nose colours. In it you said that colour point had no effect. I have almost no knowledge about genetics, so in no way am I saying you're wrong. I just don't understand that when looking at my cat, who looks a lot like the pictures online of red point birman cats. But he has black spots on some of his paw pads and quite a few black spots on his nose and especially his lips. But they are predominantly pink. He could also be part Ragdoll, but still red point. His mother was blue point, like one of his sisters. His other sister looks a lot like a tortie ragdoll cat. They told us the mother (and kittens) was a Birman cat. Don't know about the father, but they said he also was a Birman. Do the genetics have an influence on the paw/nose colour independently or next to coat colour? Or is it just coat colour that influences it? (And genetics influence coat colour)

We also raised the tortie sister (she was also our cat). She had some black spots on her lips and nose, but not nearly as much as her brother. And when I look at red point ragdolls online, they also don't have the black spots and just have pink noses.

Sorry if my ask doesn't make much sense. I'm struggling with the order of the information and because I know so little about genetics, what to ask specifically and what is important.

What you're seeing on your cat is called lentigo. It's a benign condition of a lot of red-based cats, including red points.

I think the most precise if we say genetics influence the kind of pigment the animal produces, and that in turn influences both the coat color and the nose leather/paw pad color.

However i have to note two things. First, a female blue cat can't have a red kit - she must be a tortie for that. Couldn't his mother be a blue tortie point?

Second. People often confuse certain breeds with the point pattern itself: shorthair points are getting called siamese, longhairs ragdolls etc. Most pointed cats aren't actually either of these breeds. A cat needs a pedigree to be actually part of any breed, and crossbreeds and mixes are just as or maybe even more rare than purebreds.

So if your cats don't have a pedigree, chances are that they have neither birman nor ragdoll blood in them, they are simply pointed domestic longhairs. Nothing is wrong with that.

2nd ask for another cat <:) we were told he is a ragdoll and he certainly exhibits their zonked out behavior but I always assumed he was mixed because his pattern isn't crisply defined. He's quite large (skeletally) and has a nearly hooked nose which I'd never seen on a cat before and didn't even know was possible

Well, he probably is a ragdoll, but that's not quite how cat breeds work. Most cat breeds have very defining traits that you can get on most-other cats. For example, the Siamese cat breed is known for their patterning, when every single cat has the ability to express points, due to the fact that albinism exists. Your cat may be a ragdoll, but he also could very well not be a ragdoll at all.

Another common example is the Russian Blue. It's a blue self cat with no white spotting. All domestic cats have the ability to express these genes, with some light breeding. It's very simple. Another note, is that if your pointed cat isn't very crisply defined, then good! That means the fur is growing in correctly, and cats that do express the patterning that crisply have either no undercoat or have had their fur cut or shaved in the recent past.

Plus, colorpoints are temperature-influenced! Their pattern changes as they shed fur and as time passes. That can be another reason contributing to the patterning.

Anyways, your cat is a black pointed self with medium white!

Most of my favorite skyrim modded followers and what I think what type of khajiit variant and furstock they'd be.

I picked a domestic cat breed and a wild cat breed for all of them. The descriptions won't have that much in it. It's more the looks I'm basing off on every character. I also picked a quad-ped and biped for each character too.

Inigo: Blue tiger/blue tabby. I mean since he's already a khajiit you can't really say you see him as anything else. But if he wasn't blue I think he'd be a white tiger variant and an American short hair. I think he would still be a Suthay and for the quad-ped he'd be a pahmar

Lucien Flavius: Orange and white tabby munchkin mix cat / Arabian sand cat.

Sometimes he reminds me of my cat named Mellow when she was a kitten honestly. I picked the Sand cat only because it's small and basically blonde.

I definitely think he'd be an alfiq mainly because I read something about them being more magically strong. I also think he'd be a Tojay or Suthay-raht.

Kaidan: Brown siberian cat/ Panther.

I picked what I thought was the most intimidating cats at the top of my and mind and picked these two. I would have given Kaidan the Maine Coone but they aren't intimidating at all and are one of the most gentle cats to have.

Definitely gives Cathay-raht or Senche-raht vibes.

Auri: Abynissian/ Cinnamon Caracal.

I picked both of these because these cats are known to be wild and energetic and they can also be seen with as red so ginger red head gang.

Definitely Ohmes-raht and Dagi vibes. Dagi for climbing and living in trees and normally I'd pick ohmes since the bosmer and phmes are very closely related, but I picked ohmes-raht because of Auri's wild nature matching with her having more cat like features.

Caryalind: Yellow Ragdoll / Asian Golden cat

The ragdoll is seen as one of the sweetest cats in the world and the fact their are ones with golden coats just scream caryalind. The Asian Golden cat is picked it just because of the golden.

He's like Dagi-raht and Ohmes vibes.

Nebarra: Fat Golden Persian / Pallas Cat.

I have a whole story of Persian Catbarra being found in an abandoned barn starving and almost dead from being mauled by wolves. When he's living with his 'savior' he has the biggest attitude but he low-key has the biggest heart.

There is art of him as a khajiit, somewhere. But it portrays him as a Pallas cat and now no one can convince me otherwise it's his spirit animal.

I gave him Suthay and Senche variants.

Khash: Russian Blue/ Rusty-Spotted Cat.

If khash was a cat I think she'd be quite Russian Blue, just because.

Tiny and dangerous. Only reason I picked the rusted-spotted cat

I think she'd be Tojay-raht and Dagi

Taliesin: Siamese / Serval. My mom always told me the Siamese had the attitude of every cat breed in the world.

And Taliesin being a high Elf with dark hair matches the servals gold fur with dark spots, and the first serval I seen had the biggest attitude I've ever seen. I think

Taliesin would be an Suthay-raht and Alfiq.

Xelzaz: Scottish Fold / Jaguar. Scottish folds are so cute and their name just sounds so mature and determined.

When I was younger I thought jaguars and leopards were the only big cats that liked water because if a video I saw of a jaguars swimming for fun.

Xelzaz gives me Suthay-raht and Alfiq vibes.

Lucifer: Oriental Short-haired / Iriomote wild cat I was either gonna pick the Cornish Rex or the 'dobby' cat for Lucifer mostly as a joke but I honestly do think that out of every cat breed he would be that.

The Iriomote-yamaneko is known for the meaning "that which has flashing eyes". If you look at the cat you'll notice it has eyes kind of similar to to Lucifer, and the fact that it's critically endangered and my lack of knowledge of this species reminds me that I barely no anything about Lucifer.

I think Lucifer would be Tojay-raht and Alfiq-raht

Remiel: Greyish/Brown Mackerel Tabby / Black Tiger (yes there was 10 found in India, look it up *beware there was a dead tiger was on the search*)

I honestly thought that her cat Numi was a Brown Mackerel tabby mostly because I thought the mackerel tabby looked the most like how I imagine Remiel.

When I think of Remiel and which colors resonate with her. I think warm dark colors mainly of Orange, red, and black. Which kind of reminded me of tigers the most, but I didn't want to give her the plain Bengal so I look to see if black tigers were a thing.

I think Remiel would be a Tojay and a Dagi mainly too climb in dwemer cities safely.

Gore: Tortieshell Tabby / Female Lion

I think the tortieshell matches Gore's beauty a lot honestly that's the only reason I picked the tortieshelk for him. I think if he'd have cats he'd have a torieshell and a Bengal.

I'm specifically saying a female lion mainly for the fact that Gore is someone who is drawn to packs and is more of a hunter and not like how Male lions are portrayed as the leader.

Gore is definitely a Suthay or Tojay-raht and Pahmar-raht. Normally I'd pick Cathay for Gore but in the conversation where he asks that you don't see him as a great-sword wielder because of him not being a someone who's super muscular and tall, it makes sense to give him a smaller body furstock because it stick to his character.

Eris Light and Shade: Nebelung (german cat) / Lynx

I only picked Nebelung because of the name and the color of its coat.

The lynx is seen as one that's very reserved and quiet. Only keeping to itself, which matches a lot with Eris's personality

I see her as an Alfiq-raht and an Ohmes.

The orange cat, obviously 😆 Not only because of the hair color, but also the goofy behaviour that a lot of orange cats are known for 😂

Their temperament would clearly be wild, feisty, irritable, and unpredictable but also affectionate and loyal. They would be really different when interacting with MC who adopts them and strangers. They’ll be cute and clingy with MC, but hostile to strangers, hissing and swiping at them.

Rin

The first thing that comes to my mind is that they’ll look like the elegant Siamese or Ragdoll cat. Their temperament would be cool, calm, elegant/regal, independent, and intelligent.

They’ll expect to be treated like king/queen 😆 But once you’re close to them, they’re also loyal and caring in their own way. Also, clearly a lap cat to MC and other people they’re close with. To strangers though, they’ll just mostly ignore them and if they kept bothering them, they’ll become irritable.

Santana

Santana is a hard one to find, but I’d say maybe like Maine Coon? To me, Main Coon has that rugged feels to them with their long coat of fur, which I feel like is fitting with Santana’s more rugged looks as well.

Their temperament would be relaxed, gentle, loyal, and affectionate, but can also still be independent. To strangers, they’re not hostile or cold, but more cautious and wary.

Skylar

I think Scottish Fold and Munchkin mix kinda fit Slylar because they look so innocent and adorable 🥰 Maybe a more light orange-y color with blue eyes to mimic the blond hair and blue eyes?

Their temperament though, would be energetic, playful, friendly, and affectionate. They would certainly be clingy to MC and wants to be lap cat. To strangers, they’ll still be curious and friendly as well.

Making Blair more like a real cat...

Just some concepts as I'm brainstorming what to do with the Severance fic.

I'm playing around with how to take Blair's og characterization and see how much I can edit and recontextualize through how cats actually act (I have two siamese/ragdoll mixes). Because I feel with a little more characterization and development there is something there.

I.E. What happens to a familiar if their witch gets reaped for a death scythe.

Okay, so my cats are 'one person' cats. They kinda pick a favorite human and that's who they go to when they want anything and they have to know where they are all the time. We can just have Blair pick Soul as her 'person'. (You still get the rom-com jokes, with the added bonus of Blair treating Maka as her secondary person.)

Begging for food is my cat's hobby. She will make herself look pretty in hopes of getting extra food, even if she's not hungry and is tired/board. Only, her idea of pretty is rolling around in sand and smelling like fish. So, instead of fanservice all the time, let's expand on the punchline a bit. Have Blair decked out in gobs of costume jewlery and things humans find pretty, and dirt/perfumes cats think are appealing. She is fully capable of getting food on her own, she just wants someone else to do it for her princess style. If she can't get Soul or Maka to do it, she'll go down her personal chain of command. Added comedic potential of Black Star being real low in this arbitrary pecking order.

Have someone in the house want to shelter Blair instead of her persistantly being an invasive mooch. I assume she pays rent since she has a job. (6teen had a running joke where a character had a new job every episode. You could worldbuild through Blair by having her work odd jobs around the city). But let's give her a job other than a caberet hostess. SEN had a cafe Liz and Patty worked at, she could start there instead.

Pumpkin pants under the skirt for modesty and pun reasons.

In her intro chapter a big deal was made abt the soul being more important than the apperance. Have Blair think of weapons as weak witches, and be drawn to a weapon to be a familiar to.

Later we find our Arachne made weapons from her fellow witches. Have Blair be a familiar to one of Arachne's witch vicitims. This'll give her a reason to be involved at the beginning. Being a cat, she could have noticed Arachne's not dead and promises to give Soul and Maka a lead on a really bad witch as a way to help Soul's second attempt at being a deathscythe. Blair could be used to neutrally comment abt the struggle between LD and witches.

Charlie is a tortoiseshell-tabby mix. And apparently one common feature that often comes with such a mix is crossed eyes. You get this a lot with Siamese and ragdoll cats too. It's a recessive trait.

Vet told me there's nothing to worry about. Her vision is fine. She just derps out every now and then. Personally, I think it makes her look more expressive. I can almost always tell what she's thinking or feeling!

I decided I want to make an introductory post for my pets so here we go (in the order we got them in)

This is Ash. I’m his favourite and he likes to spend time in my room when he’s not outside. I don’t know what breed he is. We got him from a shelter when he was a kitten, along with his brother.

This is Lincoln, Ash’s brother. He doesn’t really have a favourite human, but he does spend a lot of time in my room. He’s very affectionate and can’t walk anywhere without nuzzling everything in his path. He’s pretty much always purring.

This is Charlie. He’s very similar to Lincoln where he doesn’t really have a favourite human, he just sort of loves everyone. He always looks like he’s smiling. He loves attention, but only likes to be stroked on his head and will aggressively nuzzle you if you try to stroke him anywhere else. He also sometimes grabs your hand if you hold it nearby and pulls you towards him to stroke him. We got him when I was ten because one of the people in my class fostered kittens and brought him and his brother in for something we were doing. His brother, Jacob, who we also adopted, died in about 2021/2022.

This is Sylvie. She’s a pure siamese and we didn’t adopt her. She’s a lockdown kitten and spent her first several months living in our camper with my mum, meaning that she’s very attached to her. She’s very affectionate and chatty, but not afraid to set boundaries and holds grudges. If she wants to be stroked and cuddled, she’ll let you know. If she doesn’t, she’ll let you know.

This is Florrie. She’s half siamese, half ragdoll. We got her and her brother in 2022. She’s the loudest of all of our cats. Sometimes, if you haven’t paid attention to her, she starts meowing to check that she’s not alone and will purr as soon as you stroke her.

This is Finn. He’s Florrie’s brother and he got all of the ragdoll. However, despite both ragdoll and siamese being apparently some of the smarter breeds of cat, Finn’s head is only full of fluff. He’s the stupidest of all the cats but that’s what makes him loveable. He loves to make friends, specifically with Ash and Lincoln, who would probably like him better if his method for making friends wasn’t sitting on top of them. His meow is more of a squeak and he squeaks whenever he jumps off something, like a squeaky toy.

This is Ruby, the most recent addition to our family. Shes a Maltese-Poodle mix. She’s technically not a family pet, as she’s being trained to be my mum’s assistance dog, but we all help look after her. She’s very excitable and very bitey. She loves to make friends. She has lots of toys, but her favourite toys are pinecones, leaves and the inner tubes of toilet rolls. Her most favourite toy is actually a dog toy, but she likes it so much that we have to keep it on a shelf and only bring it out as a treat. She likes to bark at it and throw it for herself to pounce on.

It’s Barma’Thazël, the Demon General.. and his favorite feline, Priscilla. Priscilla, a siamese x ragdoll mix, is a large kitty with soft fur and a hellish temperament - Barma’Thazël is the only entity she has been known not to shred with her claws.

The Demon General may be as ruthless as they come in battle, but there’s a soft side from his past life that he just can’t shake….
