Richie Tozier was not an observant guy. At least, not usually. He could probably walk right through a tornado and not have the foggiest idea until it was too late. But that all changed when it came to his loved ones. For instance, he was well aware that his boyfriend [Name] had issues with eating. He had first noticed during lunch at school one day. [Name] was just pushing the food around his tray with his fork, not eating it, just sort of.. rearranging it so that it looked like he had been. In fact, that was what he was doing now. His fork swirled different patterns into his food, but Richie noticed that not one single bit of it made its way to his mouth. "How long has it been since you've eaten?" Richie asked quietly, not taking his eyes off his pretty boy. Surprised, [Name] dropped his fork. "Sorry, what?" "How long has it been since you've eaten?" Richie repeated, slower this time. He fully expected a lie. He didn't get one, but [Name] didn't answer, which told him everything he needed to know. Richie nodded his head, pursing his lips slightly. "Thought so... Okay, I've got a proposition. How about we eat together, yeah? You take a bit of your food, it doesn't have to be a big, giant bite of nothin' like that, just a little one. And when you swallow it and show me you did, I'll give you a kiss." And this new technique worked wonders. [Name] took a small spoonful of food into his mouth and Richie watched with pride and adoration as he chewed and slowly swallowed. [Name] opened his mouth to show Richie he had swallowed and Richie smiled and leaned forward to peck his boyfriend's lips. "There now, see? So good. 'M so proud of you, baby. Okay, can you give me just a few more bites, please?"

Okay so NO ONE JUDGE ME OVER HERE. But I've been reading some chethan fics... And I've had some thoughts. (Obviously, spoilers for Scream VI).

It really just happened by accident, there was that fic that popped up on the Avatar ao3 page someone wrote of the Avatar characters reacting to Scream VI, like an alternate version of Spider. In that fic I don't believe Ethan is ghostface, but I don't remember fully.

So I had known in passing people shipped Ethan and Chad, and I got curious as to their Ethan isn't ghostface versions, because as I said in a post recently that movie was held up by fantastic action scenes and great ideas, and dragged down by some weak ghostface reveals. Especially when compared to how strong the reveals were in Scream (2022). Anyways, I found some really interesting stuff on there, fics where Ethan is not ghostface but Quinn and his dad are, making it like a massive betrayal, and usually the dad and Richie were super abusive to Ethan and what not. I find that kinda interesting as a plot, it makes it like ghostface Richie was his tormentor for decades before he ever was to the core four, but he's still a suspect and they still can't trust him fully. I don't know, I think it makes it more complex and better motivations for the killers, the screenwriters really should've let me give them notes on the script before they started filming. All irrelevant, really, because Ethan's character was actually a dirty filthy murderer, but still. Could've been used better.

BUT ANYWAYS, the point of this is to say; has there really been no Scream AU Avatar fic? Like it seems to me like that shit is just sitting here waiting to be made. Like, half of you all are just Jack Champion fangirls so you have seen both. Idk, I read a couple chethan fics and the character fanon-Ethan has morphed into is really kinda Spider coded, so it writes itself. I can tell you the plot easy, right now.

Not even done with the season yet but I find it so funny that people have done SUCH a 180 on Richie saying he has become so lovable now and he’s had this REDEMPTION ARC because like… he’s always been extremely vulnerable?? Look at S1E8?? You’re all I got cuz??

I personally reserve ‘redemption arcs’ for characters who’ve done despicable things and are on the path to forgiveness. Not misguided mistake making human characters

It makes me So So Sad that this imagery was cut from the movie and that a big majority of the fandom doesn’t even know about it. The Losers’ love for each other is so poignant in the novel. The Losers’ signing Eddie’s cast is such a big moment for them as a friend group, and of course there’s the scene where they visit Eddie in the hospital despite how his mother screams at them. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with the loser/lover imagery in the movie but it does lose the impact Eddie’s broken arm had on the Losers as a group.
