pouring one out for luo binghe in my disciple SQQ fic, poor guy has taken a backseat here. we're nearly 30k words deep and he hasn't even shown his face once. it'll be much longer before he even actually talks to Shen Qingqiu.

(i say im pouring one out but in reality im sitting in my director's chair chewing on a cigar and wearing a beret as he tearily and unsuccessfully pleads with me for more scenes with Shen Qingqiu)

(Explore) First, I wanna know about this princess I’m supposed to slay.

What an odd choice, isn’t it? A story of a hero and a princess in which the hero is tasked with slaying said princess. But doesn’t that flip in the script make it all the more intriguing? What kind of princess is this that needs slaying

Or perhaps… she really is just a regular old princess, and that, by itself, is threatening as a monarch is an inherent evil for the world as a whole.

Oh, apologies, you’re probably looking for a more objective answer rather than these musings. Well, I’m afraid I can’t tell you much, that would spoil the story! A narrator of my caliber would never do such a thing. Critical information shall only be provided when the time is right.

Anyway… as much as this chit-chat has been a nice change of pace for me, this isn’t really doing much in terms of progressing with the story, is it? It’s my job as a narrator to move the narrative along and keep it from slogging, and I’m afraid we’re getting too close to slog territory, and I can’t let you keep slogging it up.

i think limes magic res would ironically make him the protagonist of any kind of shenanigans that involved a magic world transformation. like if they get locked in a magic house and everything inside turns into an adventure land and everyone turns into little toys or something, mochi included, except lime with his ridiculous resistance while the bad guy (??) stands there scratching his head wondering why lime didnt get shoved into the little fun world

I semi-recently read/reread a couple of post-The Outsiders, pre-Roe v. Wade YA novels about unplanned pregnancy (Don’t Look and It Won’t Hurt and My Darling, My Hamburger) and it’s interesting which options are presented in each one. In both, the pregnant girl’s ideal solution is to marry her boyfriend and raise a child with him. In one, this is infeasible because he disappeared on her (specifically while pretending to be a fugitive from justice due to principled civil disobedience when he’s just a drug dealer trying to make money) and, in the other, the boyfriend’s father is so unreceptive to the idea that the boyfriend doesn’t get past the “so my friend has this problem” stage of discussion. So she stays at the unwed mother’s home in the first book and gives her child up for adoption (which is presented as emotionally difficult but ultimately positive) and she gets an illegal abortion that almost kills her in the second one (which is presented chiefly as the tragic result of callous and selfish parenting on both sides of the couple).

And I have mixed feelings about both. The girl’s desire to keep her baby in the first book very much depends on a romantic fantasy about her ex-boyfriend that will never come true; in reality, her decision is between adoption and single motherhood. (Abortion is brought up; the lady who takes her to the unwed mother’s home tells her that she’s right to choose adoption instead, but no other commentary is offered.) But the sunny depiction felt uncomfortable, as I’d read The Girls Who Went Away the year before. The second displays more respect for the girl’s autonomy, but abortion is totally identified with the interests selfish adults and sleazy criminals.

Waking up randomly in new place and star fighting, sure seems normal isn’t it?

Its just game mechanics of “self insert” character gameplay but still.. games usually give some brief background to the character experience. Even if they have amnesia, they probably got summoned to another world or something. Giving the basic that player get to build their self insert on.

I really wonder what’s Players background. Other protagonists in KH got their backgrounds, even if its was very short and not detailed.

Player just appeared into existence in KHUx and then continued to just appear like that to missing link. They didn’t have any childhood and growing up? Thats only a thing for nobodies characters who got their own heart.

So I am very into the theory that KHUx isn’t the first Player’s life.. or the replica theory as well.

For KHML I wonder if they had a body from somewhere that was always them who got to live the childhood, or did new body that was created just for them? What if connecting their heart to another is Kinda like how Luxu does it.. but Player does that unknowingly and took over someone else. But its kingdom hearts and some magic, the others who time traveled from KHUX got a body just like that.

Anyway would be pretty funny for me if Player would be someone from MOM’s time cause he also had a war with darkness before.

Yeah, they do have a good (and fun) sense of style with these outfits! I feel like at this point it has to be considered part of Wonder's characterization that he has so many outfits and keeps getting more, even if the realistic answer is obviously that if they're going to give players the option to dress Wonder up, and pay to get cooler outfits, of course they're going to keep adding more choices for dress-up, heh.

But to me, Wonder's the kind of guy who hoards outfits. Kayo probably isn't much help with that, actually, considering she literally gives him clothes as a reward with some of her Confidant rank-ups. But she'd probably approve anyway.
