Help A Disabled Trans Man Move Out!!!

Hey there tumblr! I kind of need your help!!

For the past couple of months a close friend of mine and I have been talking about moving in together. My current living situation is awful due to my abusive dad and the county that I live in. Things were going well savings wise, until my job cut everyone’s hours significantly. I still want to be able to move out so I can finally get away from my dad, but I need some help as the deadline to move is in June!!

My current living situation

I currently live with my abusive dad in a very conservative county. My dad is a hoarder who refuses to clean after himself, so the house is unsanitary bordering on unlivable. I have no place to make food and my dad consistently refuses to get food. He also refuses to help me get medical care when needed and the same goes for my cats. He also routinely makes my life as a queer trans man significantly harder due to him being unsupportive. The county that I live in also makes being queer so much more dangerous. Getting away from him and out of here is my top priority.

My job situation

I went from working 20-25 hours a week to barely 10, as my job cut everyone’s hours. Most of my paychecks go towards medical bills, food, my cats, and ubers to and from work. Making saving up to move out very, very hard.

I have tried getting a second job but due to millions of people moving to my city, no one is hiring. And with my torn meniscus and heart issue I cannot do heavy labor or work outside. Making getting a majority of jobs impossible.

How you can help

I still want to move out and my deadline is in June. And now you may be wondering how moving out is gonna make my situation better if I need to ask for help.

Well, where my friend lives is walking distance from the current company I work for, so not only would I still have a job after moving, I won’t have to pay for ubers anymore! Also the city that they live in is walkable with many places needing help! On top of this the city is very accepting of the lgbtq+ community, meaning I would finally be a little more safe. Also getting out of my current living situation would improve my health both physically and mentally. I am certain that once I move out my life will improve, I just need some help getting to that point!!

I know that many people have shared the Shehab family's old campaign, which was recently frozen by GoFundMe after raising more than €78K in donations. (See this post for information.)

They now have a NEW campaign, the link above, but because they had to start over, as of 11:30 GMT on 14 November 2024, they are only up to $1,005 CAD / $100,000 CAD.

Fahed (@fahedshehab-new) and Reem urgently need to get a new tent that will keep their children warm in the winter. (Their current tent will not.) The Shehabs have set a short-term goal of $5,055 CAD for this purpose. Right now, the family still needs at least $4,050 CAD (around $3,000 USD) to reach this short-term goal. (The odd amount is to make sure they can cover the transfer and bank fees.)

Anyone think about horrifying Ken’s first two linked episodes are in context of October 4th?

Here’s the thing, I knew Shinji was gonna die. I found out through memes and spoilers and the fact that he himself says he’s gonna die. I even vaguely knew about how he accidentally killed Ken’s mom.

But Takaya dropping the bombshell that Ken was going to kill himself after killing Shinji makes everything more gut wrenching to think about the little hints something darker is going on with Ken.

The fact that he’s distancing himself from soccer and interacting with his classmates, the fact he actively hates himself for feeling happy or wanting to talk about his interests, the fact that he leaves his hamster and all of his money to Minato in case something happens because Ken knows what’s going to happen to himself.

There is a high possibility that on October 4th, Ken would have died regardless of Shinji or Takaya and the fact that he was so close to ending it all is so much worse in context.

As the colder months begin to settle in, it becomes pertinent to remind you about the conditions in Palestine. The people of Gaza are trapped in tents, while torrential rainfall drastically increases the risk of flooding and sickness from exposure. The Israeli occupation and genocide is, without a doubt, entirely responsible for this suffering. This is the suffering Marah and her family have been forced to live under for now (as of writing this) almost a full year.

This cannot be allowed to continue any longer. Marah deserves to finish her studies in engineering. Her parents deserve to recieve medical treatment for their diabetes. Her family deserves to feel safe in a world not hellbent on their destruction.

My name is Jaber Al-Haj, a graduate with honors in Applied Chemistry. I currently reside in Kuwait, but my heart and thoughts are constantly with my family, who remain in Gaza amidst the ongoing war and devastation. My wife, Muna, and our 2-year-old son, Hashem, live under the constant threat of violence and uncertainty. Every day, I worry about their safety and well-being, and my greatest wish is to bring them to Kuwait, where they can find peace, security, and a fresh start.

After graduating, I started a small cleaning products business in Gaza with my brother, Aboud. We built a modest lab from scratch, and over time, it became a stable source of income for our family. We dreamed of expanding and creating more opportunities, but our hopes were shattered when relentless airstrikes destroyed everything we had built, reducing our lab and future to rubble.

The war didn’t just take away our business; it also separated me from my family. It has been over a year since I’ve seen my wife and child in person. Unable to travel back to Gaza, I feel helpless being so far away from them during these difficult times. Despite all my efforts, it has been equally challenging to bring them to Kuwait, where I could offer them the safety and stability they so desperately need.

The Goal of This Campaign:

I am aiming to raise $29,000 to help bring my wife, Muna, and our son, Hashem, from Gaza to Kuwait, reuniting us and ensuring their safety far from the dangers of war.
