this tells me that the two of them probably have very similar tastes in music (don’t get me started on the grunge to alt metal to post-grunge pipeline LITERALLY EVERY FUCKER IN MY IRL FRIEND GROUP WENT THROUGH THIS though some of us also had pop-punk thrown in there also as well but that’s not important for this post)

and while I’m not saying outright that that alone means that the two of them have more in common with each other than literally any other two people in RE and so it was probably the first thing that they bonded over after getting home from Spain and becoming just, like. normal people again.

what I am saying is that there was at least one instance where they fucked in the front seat of his car while he had Bush’s Sixteen Stone album in the cd player.

Anyway thinking about how I got accused of cultural appropriation a couple years ago because I’m actively learning Japanese and also about how my parents are seriously downsizing their belongings and so they’re giving me all of their Japanese stuff including the kimonos and wall scrolls and swords and kamidana which I’ll have to figure out where to put in my own house which also means the background of all my dog photos inside of my house is about to look real fucking Japanese.

And I’ll probably get like three asks a day accusing me of being a weeb and I’ll have to continuously explain that, no, we were a host family for a rural Japanese school exchange program throughout the 90s and early 2000s and this is just a portion of the stuff given to us both by the school and by the families of the various girls we had living with us over the years. Because there’s enough stuff to fill the entire attic and a large portion of my parents’ living room and they’re tired of storing it but know it’s valuable and that they have a kid that actually wants it so it’s coming to my house. Like they gave us each multiple sets of kimonos over the years and it’s a family of 5 so you can expect that takes up a shitton of space by itself.

#honestly the thing I want most is probably the swords #the kamidana #and that marble/onyx chess set where the king is the shogun and the knights are samurai etc #I have my little wakizashi but dad was given a set of three katanas #they've been sitting in the attic rusting for literal decades so #the kimonos while nice will probably remain display only #they're all girl kimonos except dad's which are VERY not my size lmao #and I don't really have much of a reason to wear them besides #somewhere in my family's photo albums you'll find baby Jaz running around in one when the girls were at the house #he's got a gold arrow where the arrowhead is the crest of the school somewhere too #that'll go on my bookshelf with my wakizashi

I am so fucking sick of living with my roommate and his fuck ass boyfriend. Also watching my roommate burn every single one of his (already rather minimal, I might add) bridges for this guy is also kind of painful but also his relationship with me is one of said bridges so I'm almost past the point of even feeling bad for him lmao

#i have had to piss for probably the better part of an hour now #because they decided to take a shower together and have been in there for well OVER an hour now #and this is a nightly occurence atp sometimes MULTIPLE times a day #we have one bathroom.... can yall not be considerate enough to not be in there for up to TWO HOURS AT A TIME???#also it's such a waste of fucking water....#idk we've hit a point where i literally hear the bf doing anything and i get pissed off #but also tell me why i'm sitting in my room (which shares a wall with the bathroom) and i can hear this man hacking and spitting shit up #and this is also something that happens multiple times a day #like.... dude.... why are you spitting up toothpaste so fucking loudly oh my fucking god #but yeah no i'm like my roommate's only friend atp and he's about to not have me lmao like we're about to reach #'i'm cutting you off when i move out' levels of me being pissed off with this whole situation type shit #and apparently the bf convinced him to come out to his family which his mom was chill which is good #his dad's side of the family though....? not great. and my roommate KNEW that would be the case cuz we'd talked about it before #also love that my roommate has constantly talked about moving out of the city we live in because he hates and also there's no good career #opportunities for him here (which is true)#and now. since i just rb'd a poll abt high school grades now's probably a good time to drop one of my many million-dollar ideas for how to run a high school classroom, which is that i think that at the start of a quarter/semester kids should be asked if they want hw to count towards their grades or not bc i was So Fucking Bad at submitting hw in high school, but my test scores were really good, so i'd rather have not had hw count towards my grades. but obviously there are a good number of kids who are either bad at taking tests or anxious abt their grades dropping and are diligent abt turning in hw, so letting hw count towards their grades would give them some padding in that situation.

#i really Do need to just maintain a doc of all my ideas for how to run a classroom #bc i've been storing some of these in my brain since i was like 12. that's a fucking decade by this point What the hell #the worm speaks #unfortunately it's probably unfeasible to Not have tests n the like count towards a grade at all #like personally as a student i do not hate testing!! as someone who enjoys gathering data / information i'm kind of obsessed w/it!!!#but i also have very strong opinions on TEST DESIGN as well as curriculum design n stuff #like tests CAN be a useful tool for measuring knowledge! if you design it right. and even then it's like. not perfect #one of my other million dollar ideas is that rather than giving out a final i'd give kids the choice to either do like #a freeform project to demonstrate their knowledge in literally Any Way They Want (foster creativity n stuff)#or! they could also just take a paper exam if they want. idk if anyone would take that option but idk.#mostly i'm just fond of the idea of giving high school students a sense of autonomy over their grades n education #like another reason why i think the 'do you want hw to count to your grades?' question should be re-asked at the start of quarters or w/e #is bc sometimes we also make mistakes! and evaluate consequences wrong. or situations change!! so they should be allowed to change things #how much would hw count for if they made it worth anything is honestly not smth i'm sure abt rn tbh #but i also know that i like. would also not even grade their hw on correctness just on completion anyway #a number of my high school teachers did that; bc the point was that we were responsible for ensuring its correctness #they all knew that kids would copy off each other and if that's how you learn. go for it!! my ap calc teacher openly acknowledged this!!!#anyway good lord i really do have limitless rants n tedtalks abt education in me lmao i need to sleebies now #so i can study for my calc quiz tmrw morning ( •̀ ω •́ )y

itchy tooth all day. constant runny nose & cough continuing on 5 days after I recovered from my cold. ears feeling plugged/high-pressure and popping (then getting replugged again) over the past week. haven’t heard things around me properly in days. I’m about to bite into someone

#literally have to keep tissues on hand constantly because my nose is like a dripping faucet ugh this is awfullll #the itchy tooth is definitely the worst though I hope it’s temporary and I don’t need a root canal #I stay so on top of brushing/flossing/dentists visits but 3 weeks ago I was eating dinner #and my bite suddenly felt REALY weird. like one of my lower teeth was way too high up #the next morning I bite into a croissant and feel something hard in my mouth and 🥰 the back wall of one of my premolars just. fell off.#had to wait a week to see the dentist bc she was closed for the holidays #looks at the tooth #ur mouth is so healthy no plaque no enamel at all but you had a huge filling done there probably like a decade ago #and bc you grind ur teeth in your sleep it just. fractured under the stress #me: oh. that was possible #dentist; yeah girl 😔#anyway I got the filling done on Monday and got fitted for a night guard too 😭👍 and an ortho referral. but now it’s ITCHY #it was fine the first two days and now it’s bothering me. I’ve felt a dying nerve before and it isn’t this so I’m hoping it’s just #irritation/body going 🚨 over what it thinks is a foreign body (because they basically redid the whole filling)#but ugfhhhh if I need a root canal….#it’s one of those buildups of so many annoyances that if ONE more thing slightly annoys me I might start crying LOL #I know none of this is really that bad but it’s adding up LMAO #YES ENAMEL I MEANT NO PLAQUE*** AM TIRED LSJSJSJS

#i can be very critical of myself sometimes #because at 25 i still haven’t had half the experiences other people my age tend to have #and because my sense of self and my ability to care for myself are still so subpar.#but . uh. i spent my entire formative decade with my identity behavior persona being completely fucking split down the middle.#and my parents were actively Not Speaking and intentionally raising us in opposite environments for that ENTIRE TIME.#i never slept in the same bed for 3 consecutive days. for my ENTIRE adolescence.#how the fuck could i do ANY kind of development in that situation.#how was i supposed to coalesce into A Real Person when i was being alternated between the freezer and the frying pan 3-4 times a week.#[not saying growing up w two households divorced parents etc is inherently traumatizing but like. my situation absolutely was.#as i am realizing. right now.]#i couldn’t even begin reconciling myself as An Individual until i moved into my own place. which was. fall 2019.#and guess what happened 5 months later.
