My Turbo redemption Headcanon & Alternate ending idea to the movie (with art examples):
Tumblr media
Basically the movie ends the exact same way, except King Candy was never eaten by that cy-bug. Instead, he swerved as the track was being destroyed, shocked at all the cy-bugs destroying “his” game. He ends up driving away and back into the tunnel like the little coward he is, knowing Vanellope won’t be able to cross the finish line with all this mess.
Blah blah blah… Ralph succeeds in getting the vol-cola mountain to explode, Vanellope saves him on the kart, all the cy-bugs die, she crosses the finish line, happily ever after.
Then there’s King Candy. Right after it’s revealed that Vanellope is the rightful ruler and princess (president), he drives over and storms in. Ralph wants to curve stomp his little ass, but both Felix and Vanellope stop him.
King Candy starts cussing her (and pretty much everyone else) out, calling all of them names. His character model keeps glitching between King Candy and Turbo, as if the game is trying to erase all evidence of King Candy, but his own code is refusing and fighting to keep his goofy-ahh design.
At some point while he’s cussing everyone out kid-friendly style, both of the police characters walk up behind him with one of those giant cupcakes and slam it on top of King Candy, trapping him similar to how Ralph was before.
Tumblr media
Dizzy and probably concussed, his character model finally settles on Turbo. For good this time.
Vanellope, finally having a moment to talk, she wonders aloud what they’re gonna do with him. Calhoun and Ralph raise their guns and fists. But Felix, fighting to keep things civil, walks up and looks at Turbo. “I have a suggestion, princess-president-ma’am”
Hard cut to Turbo sitting in a meeting room, surrounded by other characters, with a banner that says “Troubled-Anon”, or just something that insinuates the characters are problematic outside of their games but want (or NEED) to be better.
Tumblr media
Yeah that’s my idea. Basically Turbo survives and is forced into group therapy. It’s not the most creative, but it’s an idea I like. Of course the canon outcome from the movie is much better, but I just want more Turbo.
But sadly my want for more Turbo comes at a cost… no King Candybug 💔

Was that [AMANDLA STENBERG]? No, that was just [APPLE CARAMELA]. They are an [ORIGINAL CHARACTER] that was pulled out of [DISNEY'S WRECK IT RALPH]. How weird is that? At this time, they are [TWENTY SIX] years old, and use [SHE/THEY]. Hopefully they learn to love it here on Naporia!
What point of canon were they brought here from? The end of Disney's Wreck-It Ralph; After Turbo and the Cy-Bugs are defeated, Fix-It Felix restores the finish line, and Vanellope crosses it, restoring her memory as the game's lead character, and restoring the ruins of Sugar Rush. Vanellope, who despite being a princess, decides to remain a racer instead and decides to remain in charge of the kingdom but rather under the title of President.
How long has it been since they arrived? They have been here almost a year now (May 26th, 2023).
Will they be working at any of the island’s establishments? Apple is technically unemployed but she makes money street racing in her car.
Anything else that you think is useful: Apple is kind of edgy in the way that she's daring and sometimes a little dark. But once you get to know her you find out that she's a total sweetheart, literally and figuratively. She loves all things sweet. Apple was a permanently nine year old video game character but when she was pulled into Naporia, she was an adult. Since being on the island, she has made a lot of friends and even found her place in a local car club. She used to date one of the members and they are just friends now. Apple is pretty fearless and very calm under pressure. She has excellent reflexes and a lot of mechanical skills. She spends a lot of her time working on her car in her garage.

I made a Reading List for the Sailor Moon Manga Canon
I composed this reading list for the entire manga, Sailor Moon, Sailor V and the side stories too.
I admit I haven’t ‘road tested’ this list so if anyone tries it out (or even just looks over the below) and has any advice to improve it I am very open to taking suggestions.
The names of the chapters are in reference to the Eternal Editions which I used as the ‘skeleton’ for this list. My aim was to include everything in such a way that did not give away spoilers and retained as much drama and narrative flow as possible. My thinking was, how would I recommend the series to a first time reader who wants to experience everything at once.
To this end I opted to avoid disrupting the Sailor Moon story arcs and slot everything else in between them. In general I tried to slot everything in as close to when they chronologically take place as possible, so if a side story takes place during an arc I’ve placed it immediately after that arc for example. The downside of this is that the narrative flow gets interrupted whenever an arc ends in a cliffhanger that gets picked up at the beginning of the next arc.
My internal rationale for this is that the arcs are akin to a season of television, wherein you inevitably get breaks in between anyway. So the side stories are a chance to decompress after the climactic events of one arc and before we begin a new one. If you are a Marvel fan, it is a little like getting two more relaxed Marvel movies immediately after Avengers: Infinity War’s cliffhanger and before Avengers: Endgame picks up after said cliffhanger.
With all that out the way, here is my proposed reading order:

Pinkie here!! So now is your turn!! I want to know your top 5 female characters!!! Thank you!! <3
Tumblr media
Phoebe Halliwell, Charmed - Even though I love all of the sisters and I am probably more like Piper, Phoebe was my favorite.  She is beautiful, sexy, and funny.  Phoebe has some of my favorite powers, premonition and empathy.  Levitation is pretty cool, too.  Phoebe is a style queen!  I love nearly all of her hair styles and clothes.  She has also had the most romances on the show.  Phoebe has grown so much in the show’s eight years.  And she is played by the ever awesome Alyssa Milano, a favorite actress since my childhood.
Tumblr media
Leia Organa (Solo), Star Wars - One of my favorite characters since I was a little girl and one of the first main female scifi characters.  Leia was smart, strong, and sarcastic.  She cares about doing the right thing, despite the danger and cost.  Leia is a princess, a senator, a rebel/freedom fighter, and a mother.  I grew up reading the books and some comics of the Expanded Universe, now termed “Legends”.  The Leia I grew up with married Han, was a mother to three amazing and powerful children, went on to become the Chief of State of the New Republic (twice, I believe), became a Jedi, and just kept fighting for the safety and good of the people and the galaxy.  The new canon still has Leia as an inspiring figure as a general in the Resistance.  I also loved Leia’s various hairstyles and clothes in the films and on book covers.
Tumblr media
Kimberly Hart, Power Rangers - Kim was one of my first female superheroes.  As the first Pink Power Ranger, she was very feminine and still could kick villain ass.  Kimberly could do almost anything: gymnast, Power Ranger, cheerleader, environmental activist, volunteer.  She could even sing and play the guitar.  I always thought that Kimberly was incredible beautiful and kind.  I loved her romance with Tommy and never forgave Power Rangers Zeo (or Kat) for breaking them up.  I even love her when she is briefly turned evil in the Turbo movie.
Tumblr media
Martha Jones, Doctor Who - Martha is one of my favorite companions of the Doctor.  She is one of the few women of color on the show and to be a regular companion to the Doctor.  I love that she is a doctor in her own right.  Her family is important to her.  I hate how the Doctor didn’t see how awesome she was until too late because he was so hung up on Rose.  I didn’t mind her crush on the Doctor, because why wouldn’t you fall for him?  Martha grew a lot over the course of the show.  She was jealous of Rose in the beginning, but when she finally met her, she was so happy that Rose and the Doctor found each other.  I love how Martha made the decision to leave the TARDIS on her own terms.
Tumblr media
Daenerys Targaryen, A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones - Dany is compassionate and strong.  She has gone through so much in her young life and keeps fighting.  She cares about the people, particularly women and children.  She tried to get the Dothraki to stop raping the women of the people that they conquered and pillaged.  Daenerys abolished slavery in Meereen.  She has a personality that inspires respect, love and loyalty, as seen with the Unsullied, Missandei, Jorah, and now Jon on the show.  I love the storied history of House Targaryen, despite some of its darker moments and rulers.  I love the dragons and how she brought them and magic back to the world.  Daenerys shares qualities with her ancestors, such as Aegon I and his sister-wives, Jaehaerys I & Alysanne, and Aegon V.  I also love the parallels with Jon and their love story.
And here are the additional five @cobrakaiseriesfan allotted me:
Tumblr media
Fran Fine Sheffield, The Nanny - The Nanny was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up.  Fran was a style icon.  I always wanted to dress like her.  And even though my hair is dark and curly, I wish I could pull off some of her hairstyles.  But maybe not as big.  She is gorgeous and funny.  Fran is from a working class/working poor family, so she is easily relatable.  I love her relationships with love interest/boss Maxwell Sheffield, his kids, Niles, her own family, and Val.  Fran teaches the kids great lessons in unconventional ways.  She may not be book-smart, but she is street-smart.  Fran is such a warm and compassionate person.
Tumblr media
Hermione Granger, Harry Potter - I relate to Hermione because she loves to read, is intelligent, and her friends are very important to her.  Hermione will also fight for who and what she believes in.  She can be a bit narrow-minded at times, but she does learn from her mistakes.
Tumblr media
Usagi Tsukino/Serena Tsukino, Sailor Moon - I was a little girl when I first saw the English dub of Sailor Moon, which I loved.  She was one of my first female superheroes.  I love how much her friends mean to her and that she would do anything to save and protect them.  I loved the love story between her and Mamoru/Darien.  I love how she has a big appetite.  I also loved the clothes she wore.  Sailor Moon was my introduction to anime.
Tumblr media
Dr. Robin Scorpio-Drake, General Hospital - Robin is a strong and compassionate person.  She has a strong moral compass, which she usually follows.  Robin has overcome many struggles in her life (”death” of her parents, HIV+ diagnosis and living with the disease, Stone’s death via AIDS, romances, being a hostage, postpartum depression, Lisa, etc.) and has come through them with grace.  I love all of her romances and how they are each an important chapter in her life, even though Patrick is my favorite.  Robin is a great friend to have, a dedicated doctor, and probably one of the most stable mothers on the soap.  Her story provides an education on HIV/AIDS.
Tumblr media
Bianca Montgomery, All My Children - Much like Robin, Bianca is a strong and compassionate character that has seen many struggles.  She is the heart of her family, which includes her mother, daytime legend Erica Kane and her half-sister Kendall, but that doesn’t mean she is a pushover.  Bianca is an iconic character, in that she is the first lesbian lead on a daytime soap opera.  I have loved watching her romances with Maggie, Zoe, Reese, and to a lesser extent, Marissa.  Her baby swap story was one of the first soap opera stories to real hook me and get me hooked on two soaps at one time.
I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to finish this post!  Please forgive me.

3 Major Things that could have improved RBTI
Look, I’ll be the first to admit the sequel did not have me squeeing or fanboying as much as the first movie. There are so many missed opportunities with this movie and it’s kinda sad we did not get the groundbreaking sequel we were hoping for. That said, I still found it to be highly entertaining. The Internet references may date it, but I feel the movie crafted itself in such a way that it will stand out as the most BIZARRE movie in the Disney Animated Canon, and will forever be remembered as such. A ‘wholesome acid trip”, as someone put it.
That said, with the version of the story the writers settled with, I feel there are 3 major things that could have done to fix (heh) the glaring issues with the plot. They are as such:
1.) Ralph and Vanellope should not have been responsible for getting Sugar Rush unplugged.
2.) Vanellope deciding to live in Slaughter Race would have went much smoother if this happened after she and Ralph fail to get the steering wheel despite trying their dang hardest. (She also suggests this to the other Sugar Rush racers and they happily get on board.)
3.) Ralph should not have intentionally unleashed the virus.
Clarifications below (beware of lots of rambling and spit-balling ideas, feel free to dispute or write a fanfic based on them):
1.) Ralph and Vanellope should not have been responsible for getting Sugar Rush unplugged. After all this time, Ralph should know better than to not to be present in his game when the arcade is open AND he should know better than to alter gameplay during a game. And after 6 years as a playable character, Vanellope ought to know never to diverge from the player’s control no matter what. The writers could have easily had two bratty arcade kids fighting for a turn on the steering wheel and it breaks off as a result. BOOM, reasonable circumstances for a game breaking, and our heroes are not to blame one bit!
This could have also contributed better to Vanellope’s motivation for wanting to stay in Slaughter Race. Rather than simply “being bored” with Sugar Rush, the writers could have also made Vanny feel disillusioned with being a playable character. After 15 years as an outcast of having (relative) freedom, it would be interesting if she found that being a player character isn’t all she dreamed it would be. For every fun gamer there’s a party pooper, a kid who can’t play very well, or plays too aggressively, kids that make you feel very uncomfortable when they are in control of your actions, and in this case, kids who break your game and get it unplugged. At the very least, a more plausible reason for Vanellope to come to the conclusion that being a supporting NPC online might be a better gig than being a lead playable character in the arcade.
2.) Vanellope deciding to live in Slaughter Race would have went much smoother if this happened after she and Ralph fail to get the steering wheel despite trying their dang hardest. (And she also suggests this to the other Sugar Rush racers and they happily get on board.) It would have been an interesting lesson showing that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can still fail at something (also, no way in heck does someone earn $30,000 from YouTube BuzzzTube videos in less than 8 hours, just sayin’). The movie could have shown Vanellope trying her hardest alongside Ralph to save her game, but when they fail, she figures there’s no use crying about it, and simply comes up with an alternate solution.
I’ve seen people point out that Vanellope pretty much went Turbo in the sequel. While I don’t disagree, the consequences of her actions are nowhere near as severe. Sugar Rush can still function without her (her leadership role seems to have no effect on actual gameplay, which does make the whole deal of her being a Princess/President/Princessident kinda pointless, except as “backstory”) and she takes on a supporting NPC role in Slaughter Race and is welcomed by that game’s residents. Practically a downgrade when you think about, but one that’s she’s happy with. The circumstances of her leaving are almost opposite to Turbo’s when you think about it.
I am a little saddened that Vanellope’s relationship with the Sugar Rush racers never improved. True, in real life, you can forgive someone for bullying you for 15 years, and you spend the next 6 years simply tolerating each other in peace (pretty much your average co-worker relationship). Still, it would have been nice if Vanellope had took her leadership role seriously and took the initiative to get along better with her fellow racers like in the storybooks. And I would have liked if Vanellope suggests living in Slaughter Racer to the other racers, and thrill-seeking troublemakers that they all are, they all agree to it.
I feel this definitely would have been a harder blow to Ralph; not only does he fail to save Sugar Rush, but now Vanellope decides to go live somewhere else. Also, this would have been a nice way to involve Felix and Calhoun. I thought in the sequel they decided to adopt the racers much too quickly. I would have liked if they had gradually developed their relationship with the racers over the course of the movie. Say Ralph offers to let the kids stay at his brick pile and Felix and Calhoun are like no Ralph that is not child proof and they let the kids stay in their apartment and gradually grow really fond of them, and when the racers all decide to live in Slaughter Race they realize Holy Crap these are my babies now I can’t let them leave. It would have been an interesting contrast to Ralph learning to let go of Vanellope.
Yes, there is also the whole deal of how in the heck does Shank know how to program other characters into Slaughter Race, but I feel that’s more of a possibility to explore the world more in fanfics and future installments rather than a plot hole.
3.) Ralph should not have intentionally unleashed the virus. Ralph, honey, you’ve dealt with Cy-Bugs. You know viruses cannot be trusted. I can appreciate you didn’t want anyone to get hurt, but when viruses are involved, someone is guaranteed to get hurt.
Also, you know being dishonest with Vanellope would not have gone over well. Remember when you first met and she thought you were betraying her and how upset she got? True, you were misinformed, but you legitimately thought you were doing the right. Considering how angry she was at you when you thought you were telling the truth, there is no good reason to believe that lying to her would not have yielded the same, if not worse results.
I did however, enjoy the idea of Ralph’s insecurities taking physical form, and them joining together to create “Ralph Kong”. I would have preferred it if Ralph had stumbled across the virus accidentally. My friend @wreckingduty / @mewtwowarrior had this interesting idea back when the trailer was released. She speculated that Ralph went to the DarkNet as a result of unwittingly doing a shady delivery job to earn money. Maybe Spamley delivers viruses as a side job and is paid by actual people to do so, and offers Ralph a high-profile delivery of viruses, but Ralph is completely oblivious and doesn’t suspect a thing, and unfortunately messes up the delivery and doesn’t get paid, and also doesn’t notice a virus that slipped out and got stuck on him. The virus is not activated until Ralph and Vanellope have an argument and them BOOM.
Not exactly perfect ideas, and it certainly is way more cluttered than the actual movie is, but I feel like if the writers had a least done some variation of these three points, it would have preserved character integrity much better.

Smash Characters and people who main them
So, I was thinking about who mains certain Smash characters. Aaaand I got these ideas.
Mario: Probably Mickey Mouse. Or Emmet from the Lego Movie franchise idk
DK: Surely not King Kong because he has big hands and would break a Joy-Con just by touching it, not even a GameCube controller is safe. 100% Winston from Overwatch is the candidate, even better if he takes the blue DK skin lol
Link: Sora. This one is easy as hell.
Samus: Tony Stark is the first option that comes to mind.
Dark Samus: And since Rhodes can’t use Samus, might as well use the OTHER Samus lol
Yoshi: It is canonically stated in Deltarune that Asriel Dreemurr mains him and loves him to death.
Fox: I’m not sure how a red pirate fox animatronic holds a Joy-Con or two but probably Foxy from FNAF is the perfect main here.
Pikachu: It’s either Agumon or Jibanyan, too easy. Also put Jibanyan in Smash Sakurai pls
Luigi: Probably Donald Duck to parallel Mickey, the only difference between the two would be that Donald has a short temper while Luigi is a cowardly lion (and the plumber-sailor thing)
Ness: *MEGALOVANIA AND GAME THEORY INTRO INTENSIFIES* Ok jokes aside I think John Egbert and/or Sans are good candidates as Smash main.
Captain Falcon: Raphael, the red turtle from the Teena- wait why am I explaining an obvious character. His bros collectively main another character.
Jigglypuff: D.Va, full stop. She is a bunny person but may also love a Jigglypuff (now I want a drawing of Hana hugging the Puff help me)
Peach: Sooo, let’s see...Mickey has Mario... Donald has Luigi... I think you know where I’m going with this one.
Daisy: OH GOD I JUST REALIZED THAT DAISY DUCK MAINS PRINCESS DAISY, IT’S A “HI I’M-DAISY-CEPTION!”
Bowser: Is there any drawing of Bowser cosplaying as Peg-Leg Pete and viceversa? I’d die for that, it would be hella funny, especially with Mario and Mick dying from laughter in the distance.
Ice Climbers: Hmmm...twins...you can use them to make icy puns...I KNOW! IT’S GEORGE AND FRED
Sheik: Literally any of the ninjas from Lego Ninjago, bonus points for Lloyd.
Zelda: I have literally no damn ide-oh wait. I can use literally any blonde Disney princess lol
Dr. Mario: Undecided between Sorcerer Apprentice!Mickey and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Pichu: Shogunyan makes the most sense to me. I don’t know a lot about any other Digimon so I’m sorry if I don’t have Digimon ideas for Pichu.
Falco: I don’t know why but the thought of Chica maining Falco makes me laugh. Not that I ship Fox and Falco, of course, but seeing my FNAF OTP using two best pals looks funny enough to me
Any Fire Emblem character that is not Robin or Corrin: I literally have no damn idea.
Young Link: The first one that came to mind was Kenny from South Park and I don’t know, don’t even ask me
Ganondorf: I can just see Gamora giving Thanos a copy of Smash for the Switch and him curbstomping people as Ganondorf
Mewtwo: I still think that Beerus is an AU version of Mewtwo. If Beerus wasn’t a lazy dickhead maybe he would have been similar to Mewtwo.
Mr. Game & Watch: Bendy. Just, Bendy. And not even moster Bendy, just, regular Bendy.
Meta Knight: I wonder how much does Bruce Wayne play Smash when he is not being Batman. Although it’s probably possible that his favourite is Brawl.
Pit: I can just see Tony Stark losing at Smash against Pit and saying: “Fuck you, Barton.” AHAHAHAHAH
Dark Pit: This is for Hawkeye post-Decimation. Sorry if u lost ur family pal. Really sorry. I wanna kick Thanos in the groin for this.
Zero Suit Samus: Of course Natasha Romanoff mains Zero Suit Samus. Fanservice girl for fanservice girl.
Wario: I know Roadhog isn’t greedy and doesn’t care a lot about money except for his fee from Junkrat but he looks like the perfect Wario main in my opinion.
Snake: A spy for a spy. The name is Snake. Solid Snake. *mashup of James Bond theme and Encounter plays in the distance*
Pokèmon Trainer: Literally Ash Ketchum is the only possible choice here.
Diddy Kong: Uuuuh, the Apes from Ape Escape. Yup.
Lucas: Ok listen up, it’s Darwin Watterson. A squishy adorable fish boi for an adorable psychic blondie kid. It’s the perfect matchup! Almost...(Thank god Ninten is not yet in Smash)
Sonic: Me. What, can’t I reclaim one of my mains? The fella here introduced me to gaming with Sonic Rivals on the PSP. Thank god I didn’t buy a PS3 or ‘06.
Dedede: King Candy from Wreck-It Ralph. At least before he reveals himself as the fucker known as Turbo.
Olimar: Keroro from Sgt. Frog. Don’t ask.
Lucario: Sasuke? Idk
R.O.B.: Shared between C-3P0, R2-D2 and BB-8. Easy.
Wolf: Idk Boris the Wolf? I really dunno I suck at this.
Toon Link: Happy from Fairy Tail. JUST LOOK AT HOW MUCH OF A CAT TOON LINK DOES LOOK LIKE
Villager: Chara from Undertale. I don’t need to explain this.
Mega Man: Give me any blue Power Ranger.
Wii Fit Trainer: Hard one. I have no idea help
Rosalina and Luma: IT’S TINKERBELL
Little Mac: *Rocky theme intensifies* ROCKYYYYYYYYYYY BALBOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAA
Greninja: Naruto full stop
Palutena: Cosmos from FF Dissidia.
Mii Fighters: The Xbox avatars. I think this one was pretty obvious.
Pac-Man: Donnie, Mikey and Leo all collectively main Pac. Best part they stop literally any attempt from Raph to spam Falcon Punches lol.
Robin: *Hedwig’s Theme intensifies*
Shulk:...Kirito?
Bowser Jr.: My other main, the one I use the most. For you, I shall summon the perfect main! *Lancer pops out from nowhere*
Duck Hunt: It’s Pluto. You know, Mickey’s dog? Jeez, why doesn’t Disney focus a little more on Pluto?
Ryu: KAME....HAME...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ken: *insert Vegeta reference here*
Cloud: FINAL FANTASY TIME, COME ON AND GRAB YOUR FRIENDS, WE’LL GO TO VERY DISTANT LAANDS, WITH JAKE THE DOG AND FINN THE CLUD STRIFE MAIN- ok enough I think you understood the reference.
Corrin: Danaerys Tyrgaryen. Did...did I write that right? I really dunno
Bayonetta: *Insert Dante quote here*
Inkling: de Blob. You...you don’t know de Blob? You should go check that game, it’s fire.
Ridley: Smaug. I know, I’m out of ideas.
Simon: Van Helsing, of course.
Richter: ...I HATE WHEN i AM OUT OF IDEAS
King K. Rool: Does Godzilla count? Or is he a King Kong issue? Ok no wait, any member from the Croc tribe of Legends of Chima is fine
Isabelle: Lucy Heartphilia, easy.
Incineroar: Ok, listen up, before I get in this one, I DO NOT SHIP ISABELLE WITH INCINEROAR. That being said.....Natsu. I can just imagine him and Lucy playing Smash in such an intense way while Happy just plays calmly and beats both lol
Pirahna Plant: Actually the first one that came to mind and gave me the idea for this post. Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Cause, you know, teeth.
Joker: Robin Hood. I know Joker is not an archer user but the gentleman thief thing is there after all
Sorry for the long post, here is the word “potato”. See ya next time and if you have any ideas for missing characters I’d be glad to get them

How I’d fix Kingdom Hearts III.
Bearing in mind that the issues I had with it were mostly story-related, namely: integration of the overarching plot into (some of the) Disney worlds, pacing, characterization, female characters getting sidelined, and threads left dangling. In terms of gameplay, I’d probably just tie Team Attacks and Attraction Flow to MP (or make Attraction Flow location-specific, like Reality Shift in 3D) and Formchanges to Focus, just so the player has to use them more strategically. I’d also make the Riku and Mickey scenes in the Realm of Darkness playable, or at least have more player input than they do.
First of all, I’d change Olympus to Agrabah. They used the first movie in the first game and Return of Jafar in II, so they really should have used King of Thieves in III. Since the whole reason for Sora going to Olympus in the first place (to gain the power of waking) doesn’t come into play until the end of the game anyway, I don’t see it as that big of a change. If you really need a reason for him to go there, I think either learning something from Aladdin as the diamond in the rough or from Genie adapting to being semi-phenomenal, nearly-cosmic could work. Axel will tag along to Agrabah because:
He went there on a lot of missions for the Organization, so he’s familiar with the world and won’t drag them down, plus he could learn a lot from Sora because...
I’ve decided that Axel should struggle to consistently summon his Keyblade, both to mirror Sora’s power of waking thing and to provide the Guardians of Light with incentive to rescue as many Keyblade wielders as possible just in case he doesn’t prove up to snuff.
I think there’s a good character study that could be done between Axel and Cassim, what with them both being charming roguish types who fell in with a bad crowd and struggle with breaking old habits.
I’d also introduce the New Seven Hearts concept here, with Sora and company realizing that Jasmine is no longer a Princess of Heart. From here, Axel’s still struggling, so Yen Sid sends him on a mission to confirm if any of the Princesses of Heart have retained their status; Axel visits Wonderland--or rather, the world Alice is actually from--and Beast’s Castle in cutscenes between worlds in Sora’s first world set, and probably encounters Xaldin in the latter world. (Xaldin replaces Xion as a Nort, because it’s still so weird that he’s got the pointy Nort ears after becoming a Nobody and as a Nobody is obsessed with negative emotions AND needs time to recover after being re-completed, but somehow isn’t a Nort?)
Meanwhile, Kairi isn’t in active Keyblade wielder training yet, but only because she’s at Radiant Garden, where Zexion is focusing on Namine first because it should be easier to untangle just one heart in another than three hearts in another, and Namine’s power over memories would sure come in handy. While she’s there, you could explore her childhood in Radiant Garden. (If her grandmother’s still alive, that’d be a touching reunion!) I’m leaning toward not having her be part of the New Seven Hearts, because going from having a heart of pure light to a normal heart with the capacity for darkness seems more interesting to me. (Aaand now I’m thinking about Master Xehanort taking advantage of that lack of experience with darkness and Norting Kairi instead of killing her. It’d make Sora less likely to fight, which is the opposite of what he wants, but damn it’s so much more compelling than what we got.)
For the first set of worlds, I’m pretty satisfied with how the overarching plot was integrated. However, in Kingdom of Corona, some things aren’t well-explained unless you’ve seen the movie, like Rapunzel suddenly having the crown back. For that one, Heartless/Nobodies could show up when Mother Gothel meets Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and she drops it while running away; Sora could give it back to Rapunzel and mention something about her mother looking for her. Also, I still think Mother Gothel should’ve knocked Marluxia out with the tree branch instead of his Reapers, lol.
Someone on Reddit made the suggestion to move rescuing Aqua and Ven to between the first and second world sets--possibly with fully playable Castle Oblivion/Land of Departure--and I absolutely love the idea. Others pointed out that it couldn’t work because they go to the Keyblade Graveyard after gathering all the Guardians of Light, which is why I suggest having Vanitas reawaken and assume control of Ven as soon as Sora returns Ven’s heart to his body.
Other cutscenes will have to be moved up to this point, including Vexen recruiting Demyx and the latter dropping off the completed Replica, which will now go to Namine while Zexion reverse-engineers one for Roxas. (Or not; Namine’s entire existence is pretty weird, so she might be able to generate her own body after her heart is untangled from Kairi’s, leaving the Replica to Roxas.) Regardless, Namine is now awake and starts work on freeing Roxas and Xion; Axel is now capable of consistently summoning his Keyblade, so he and Kairi start training under Riku and Mickey; Sora and company possibly revisit Twilight Town, just so we can get that first world revisit that was in the first game, II, and 3D; and Aqua recovers from ten years in the Realm of Darkness plus having Ven snatched out from under her nose, then gives Riku and Mickey a hand with training.
Monstropolis won’t change too much, though Sora and company now knowing who Vanitas is and having beef with him will impart a different tone. As for Arendelle...Larxene needs to interact with people besides Sora and company, like trying to bully Anna into giving up on Elsa or taunting Hans and turning him into a Heartless; Sora and company need to go to places besides the North Mountain; and there need to not be random out of place musical numbers. Since the 100 Acre Wood was even more of a minigame hub than usual and didn’t actual adapt the plot of Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, I propose cutting it in favor of a Wreck-It Ralph world, with the arcade being one of Scrooge’s many business ventures in Twilight Town; Xigbar would actually be a great Nort if the world needs one, since going Turbo kinda reminds me of Luxu body-surfing through the ages. (While I’m on the subject, I’d replace Ralph and Stitch with Jack Skellington and Tron, that way Sora has all the party members from past worlds that required a change in appearance as Links; Simba would be obtained in Agrabah, Dream Eaters in Toy Box, Jack Skellington in Monstropolis, and Tron in San Fransokyo, and I’m leaning toward Tron being in his Tron: Legacy form.)
For The Caribbean, its biggest problem comes down to the audience already knowing that the chest of Davy Jones isn’t the box the Organization is looking for, so it feels like a waste of time; Sora and company barely having any impact on the plot doesn’t help. Having them actually interact with characters besides Jack would help. I’d also have Beckett play a larger role and Luxord turn him into a Heartless. I thought it was an odd choice to have Dark Riku show up in San Fransokyo instead of the Riku Replica or Data-Riku and make it seem like he’s time traveling (UGH) from when Ansem possessed him...only to have it be a Replica anyway! So yeah, I’d probably change that to Data-Riku in a Replica to make the Bug Blox from Coded showing up actually matter, and I’d have Vexen supervising him instead of faffing about in The Caribbean.
At this point, Zexion and Namine have finally succeeded in getting Roxas free, but are still working on Xion. However, since they now have seven Guardians of Light, the decision is made to rest up and prepare for the Keyblade War, as in canon. I’m keeping the scene with Axel and Saix before the final battle but cutting out the bit about them becoming apprentices to save their heretofore unknown female friend, because it’s just a blatant retcon; Nomura confirmed in an interview after BBS that they were just ordinary kids who got caught up in the Heartless experiments.
As for the final battle itself, my thoughts are much more scattered as of right now, besides Kairi not getting fridged of course. I like blackosprey’s idea of moving Sora’s little jaunt in The Final World to after the boss rush of Norts but before Scala ad Caelum. Since Xaldin’s taking Xion’s place as a Nort, it’ll be Saix who’s tasked with killing Axel and hesitates; Zexion and Namine get Xion free just in time for her to possess the discarded Replica and make the save. I'd prefer Terranort be re-completed after you defeat Ansem and Xemnas instead of being a Nort from the get-go, or have him around from the get-go instead of Ansem and Xemnas, because him existing at the same time as the Wonder Twins is only possible thanks to time travel bullshit. (Same with Master Xehanort, for that matter, but he’s harder to work around. Unless you have Young Xehanort pulling the strings for most of the game, fight him after Ansem and Xemnas and/or Terranort, and only fight Master Xehanort in Scala ad Caelum?) And if they’re going to bring up Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene’s connection to the mobile game, the least they could do is have dead people close to them besides Strelitzia hanging out in The Final World, giving out exposition tidbits.
Also: I know Nomura said this was just going to be the end of the Xehanort Saga, but I really feel this game should’ve retired Sora as well. Part of the reason the ending left me unsatisfied is because Sora doesn’t get any closure, and I know it’s because they want us to keep buying these games, but if they try, they can easily make us care just as much about a new protagonist. Maybe even, horror of horrors, a female one!
So yeah, those are my thoughts on how to improve KHIII! Several days after I said I’d post them. Maybe before the next ice age, I can work up the motivation to post about my series-wide KH rewrite, lol.

Premise and Basic Plot and Whatnot
anthony's author notes: I know Power Rangers for being "that series with colour-coded heroes who consistently blow shit up for the good of Earth". Power Rangers has a cookie-cutter idea of what constitutes a good storyline, and as the local writer dude, I decided I want to subvert those tropes in my own series.
Grid Spirits or Spirit Grid (i like and use both, but grid spirits is technically the “official” title) is entirely founded on and reliant on Grid Theory. Grid Theory is the concept that every Ranger ever is connected to the Power. (It's not canon, holy heck is that a tragedy) Sometimes this comes into play from birth, while other times it doesn't kick in until the character(s) become Rangers. You can find my favorite Grid Theory fics here and here.
The idea of this series is that each colour has a coloured spirit attached to it, and to all the Rangers of that colour. The Red Spirit is tied to the colour red (duh) and to all the Red Rangers, even if some of the Reds (side-eyes Tommy) don't use their Red Ranger Powers anymore.
I did have to make decisions on how to divide the colours up. Ninja Storm has both a Red (Shane) and Crimson (Hunter) Ranger, as well as a Blue (Tori) and Navy (Blake) Ranger. I went with having the different shades go together (for example, Hunter's Crimson is considered Red) with the sole exception of Aqua (James Navarro of Dino Charge), which is its own category. As for the Rangers whose titles aren't colours (hint hint half of S.P.D.), I looked at each of their pages on the Fandom Wiki and used those. (seriously that site is a gift from god)
One by one, the Grid Spirits run off into a new universe (a carbon copy of ours. It has the franchise; oh the headache my Rangers could give the execs) and each "possess" an individual whom they deem "compatible". This grants the individual full access to every Ranger power of their colour we know, some that we don't, and the ones I made up for this. This does include different elemental-kinesis power sets specific to each character, but I gave Jaiden the reins on those. The Grid is also now an actual physical space. It is in a different dimension, but with the Spirits' powers, the team can teleport there.
Unfortunately, because all of the Grid Spirits are out and about, the villains from every season are let loose as well. Madame Odious is in charge because I said so and I want her to. Rita is naturally her second-in-command.
Cue the dramatic fight scenes...with a TWIST!! :0 oh my so surprising
I think we all know that every city the Rangers have ever been in is an absolute disaster zone. A crater courtesy of idiots in spandex. We all knew it was the truth.
I don't know if you've ever seen Lolirock. I myself watched about ten episodes before I got bored. The point, though, is that they have this little mascot thing (it has a name but i don't know it) and it can teleport the princesses and their monster of the week into an arena dimension. Since the Grid is now a place the Rangers can go, and I make the rules here, it has an arena where the Rangers can fight the bad guy without, you know, destroying everything around them. It also cuts off any communication to the main villains (e.g. Rita, Lothor, i'm bad at remembering these characters please ignore me)
Power Rangers is not terribly well-known for its plot. However, since we don't have the big studio budget for a television show, we'll have to write the story in book form and actually have the desperately needed Rangers’ character development. (oh no how so very dreadful)
jaiden's art notes: Hi y'all! I do the character designs and art (and excessively make picrews but that's not important here).
Each character has a unique and special backstory, and I wanted to make each character unique and special designs to match. Anthony let me pick each character's elemental powers so I could incorporate them better into my designs, so if you're curious about that, it's a question for me.
The Rangers have two appearances: their regular civilian appearances, and their Spirit form appearances. The reasons for this are because this is more mystical-y than the Power Rangers we know and love, so it makes sense that their Spirit appearances would be influenced by their powers. Each design is a mash of their civilian appearances and one ranger of their colour. Design-wise, this is also because I hate, HATE doing helmets with a burning passion and no way in frozen-over hell am I making those here. (I am aware of the fuck-ups in the Turbo movie when they tried to film with pieces of the helmet missing. I do not care. They look different, what identity could they reveal if they look entirely different. They could only reveal it if they specifically told someone "hey, i'm a grid spirit" or if they transformed in front of someone.)
The suits are pretty simple. Each Ranger wears a dark grey bodysuit with geometric tessellation patterns in light grey. These extend to their wrists, ankles, and have a high neck. Over this, they each wear white gloves and boots, but the specifics vary between Rangers. The boots may extend to any height, as can the gloves, which may also be fingerless in some cases. Each of them, finally, has a "regular outfit" over their bodysuit in their signature colour (for example, several of the girls have short dresses), and a wide black belt around their midriffs with a stripe around the middle in their colour. (think martial arts belts, but wider.) Each costume is specifically designed so that it doesn't draw attention to any *ahem* particular locations.
So, you know, this'll be fun. The two of us are excited to get this train out of the station. Wanna stick around?
