Struggling to Quilt your Quilt after you have all the pieces put together?
Many do the Stitch-in-the-Ditch Method. I know that even with the special Stitch-in-the-Ditch foot or a Walking Foot (see pictures) and going slow it can still be a struggle to stay in the Ditch. (Link to a Tutorial below)
Have you tried the Quilt-as-you-Go Method? It's so much easier than trying to quilt a whole quilt after it's been pieced together. With this method you make your blocks, add the batting, do the quilting, then you put all the blocks together. This method can also be done in panels. (Link to a Tutorial below)
However, if you don't want to do the Quilt-as-you-Go Method, I suggest doing a Fancy Straight Line Quilting. You still following the seam, like you do when Stitching in the Ditch but you do a Fancy Stitch instead of a Straight Line Stitch. It can be just a zig zag stitch if your machine doesn't have any nice fancy stitches. You should be able to vary the size of your zig zag. With this method, if you don't get your line perfectly straight, it's ok. No one will notice.

A Stitch-in-the-Ditch Foot, a Walking Foot and most others, can be found on Amazon, Walmart and other online shops.
Note: You do not use either of these machine feet to do a Fancy Straight Line Stitch. Use your normal 1/2" seam or All-Purpose Foot, just be sure the whole in the foot is the right size for the stitch you wish to use. I have broke many needles from having the wrong foot on my machine when doing fancy stitches!

Just saw a sewing advice post that ended with "the sewing machine can't hurt you" and I just want to point out that the sewing machine can very much hurt you, and would like to even. Maybe you'll never sew your hand on accident but you are moving a needle hundreds of times per minute at incredible mechanical speed and those things can break if you're not diligent about the condition of your machine's tension, of the needle itself, or if you forgot to switch to a heavier needle when using heavier fabrics.

It's a Juki TL-2000Qi semi-industrial sewing machine and it can probably sew through solid steel.
It does exactly two things, a forward straight stitch and a backward straight stitch, and you'll be GODDAMN grateful it even lets you do that. You want to do zig zags? Get fucked.
Threading it takes about 10 steps and feels like trying to defuse a bomb. It's got a side fed bobbin case that takes an additional 3 or 4 steps to thread. If it's not sharp or strong enough, it'll snap through a heavy duty needle and without even slowing down, no matter stopping, sending the tip flying through the air at speeds capable of sending a piece of straw through a telephone pole. It's compatible with exactly 0 of any other parts from any other brand machine except sometimes needles and it has a palpable air of bloodlust surrounding it.
But it'll sew through 4 layers of denim like a hot knife through butter.
to be honest I think working on a sewing machine strains my eyes as much as being on a computer does. However, I am incentivized to remain alert and focused by keeping my fingers within stabbing distance of a needle making 60 stitches per minutes.

My sewing machine is just straight up missing some stuff. The thing that holds the presser foot fell off while I was sewing (I almost shat myself by the way) and I read ye old manual to figure out what to do. Told me to search for a disk screw driver and I did and it does not exist along with other thing I found out just we’re not there for my poor sewing machine. So anyways I’m using a penny now and it gets the job done.
I’ve thought about contacting customer support or something because this is slightly ridiculous but the machine was a gift and sat unused for four years so I don’t know if I could get anything but an awkward email

Getting a lot of comments about how beautiful my 1880s treadle is, and while yes it is lovely, it's fairly plain compared to some of the rarer & earlier machines out there!
This website has pictures of a whole bunch of them, which are worth clicking through if you're interested.

Kimball & Morton, c. 1870. Apparently the front leg coverings come off, and the needle and presser foot are inside.
That's only a fraction of them, and I've still only clicked through less than half the list. That lion shaped one isn't even the only lion shaped model on there.

𝜗𝜚 synopsis: Peter's suit keeps breaking, thankfully his boyfriend knows how to sew.
𝜗𝜚 pairing(s): MCU!Peter Parker x male reader
𝜗𝜚 warning(s): nothing just peter being silly and his boyfriend being helpful
𝜗𝜚 note(s): English is not my first language!!! Based on this request, hope u like this anon :3 sorry this is kinda short!!

"So—!" Peter starts as he slides in through your window before you rise a hand, interrupting him. "Let me guess, you ripped your suit? Again?"
He peels off his mask and closes the window behind himself. "Yeah..." he admits with an apologetic look.
"This is, what, the third time this week?" You grumble but you don't seem all that irritated, you're already handing him a change of clothes.
Peter shoots you a greatful smile, shimmying out of his spider-suit as you turn to prepare the sewing machine, plugging it into the wall and switching to the right stitch.
When you turn back to him he's changed into the hoodie and sweatpants you gave him. He gives you the damaged suit and you spin around to face the sewing machine.
"Alright, show me where you ripped it?" You inquire and he drapes himself over your shoulder, so your cheek his pressed against his. He points to a tear in the side of his suit. Thank god, it's just in the stitching. That's so much easier to fix.
Peter starts telling you about his patrol as you repair his suit. It's kind of calming, having his warm voice in your ear and going through the familiar motions of mending the red fabric.
Inside-out, presser foot up, fabric in, presser foot down, sew, presser foot up, fabric out, cut excess thread. And done.
"Here, all patched up." you hand him the fixed suit and he presses a kiss to your cheek. "You really are the best boyfriend a superhero could have." he sighs, hugging the suit to his chest and looking like an over exaggerated lovesick puppy.
You huff out an amused laugh. "Oh, yeah? You're a pretty great boyfriend, too."

I have officially finished one half of the first round of the back quilting! 😂🙌
This side of the tree took about an hour, so I expect the same for the other side and possibly longer for each front half.
I have two layers of 1” batting under the fabric, which I hand tacked down to keep from shifting. I am SO grateful for the knee pedal on my Juki at work, which allows me to lift the presser foot to pivot without taking my hands from the garment. Once the tree outline is done, I’ll be cutting away the batting from the negative space so only the tree shape remains dimensional.
The blue you see is water-soluble marker which I used to trace all my pattern lines; it takes a couple rounds of the spray bottle to dissolve the markings but they do go away! I just can’t be too vigorous yet with the spray bottle until I’ve done both sides of the back!
