Sewing is so good
#my personal sewing machine lives at work until we get a work sewing machine#but my sister dropped her machine off at home for me to ‘fix’#it wasn’t actually broken she was just using a giant cone of thread#and it kept catching on the little notch cut into the spool#so since this machine isn’t designed for cone thread and it was getting stuck on the spool itself it was just wreaking havoc on the tension#so now I’m working on the skirt that I was hand sewing because I need to redo the waistband#and it’s going so nice and smooth#it’s also basically the first machine I’ve used other than mine#which I inherited from my nana#she taught me to sew on it 17 years ago and it’s still doing just fine#it’s at least as old as I am#but my sisters is a new singer#and it still has all the same functions for the most part#but the layout is WEIRD#the presser foot lever is on the back not in the harp#so you either have to use your left hand (and I am not a lefty so it’s awkward)#or reach through the harp and to the back#which is also awkward#also it doesn’t have an automatic threader which is a real shame#because that’s one of my favorite things about my machine#now this one does have an led light so it’s definitely easier to thread the needle because it’s better illuminated than the incandescent#that mine has#but still#nothing beats an automatic threader
