one quick thing i need to put out there uh as funny as it is to be like "omg the Glee namedrop bc he produced both shows" or whatever i DO need to inform you that pre-Glee/post-Glee era IS an actual academic discussion point. that is a genuine unit of cultural measurement and had been long before this. that piece of dialogue was not pulled out of nowhere it was pulled directly out of existing queer discourse.

Day Six: Mirror or Abandoned @tes-summer-fest The Nerevarine's mind tends to play tricks.

It always started the same. He’d felt his flesh dissolve from his bones as another pyroclastic flow engulfed him. Same shit as usual. Only this time, instead of a beach or cave, he awakened in a quiet candle-lit chamber that reminded him of the offering halls found in ancestral tombs. He felt someone take his hand, kissing it lightly before something was whispered into his ear in Dunmeris. Lips pressed against the shell, the breath hot and putrid as those lips trailed down his neck. He was staring at himself, his hands on some sort of candlelit altar that was stained with long dried blood. His reflection stared back at him through the polished bronze mirror. The smile it wore was menacing and he found himself lost in the void where his eyes should have been. His reflection reached out through the wall as Teldryn felt lips trail down his neck, teeth scraping almost painfully at his skin. Long nails dragging down his bare chest, dipping to his hips and- His reflection grabbed him by the jaw and forced him to stare into the dark, endless void that had replaced the bright crimson of his eyes. He tried to look down at whatever it was that was now between his legs, biting at his hipbone, hands stroking the bare skin of his inner thigh. Cold lips met his and all he could taste was rot and bitter ash. He felt something sharp clamping down on his tongue, the taste of ash replaced by the sickening metallic sensation of blood pouring down his throat. He tried to open his mouth, to scream, to pull away but he couldn’t move. His reflection held him steady as blood poured from his lips. His reflection turned away and spat something from his mouth. Teldryn watched as it hit the ashen ground, small, red and bloody. It took him a few moments to recognise it as his own tongue.

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but one huge missed opportunity that came along with Barrys ressurrection was.. seeing him have another chance being a father.. Iris adopted Josh Jackam.. weather wizards son he was her adopted child.. who she loved and cared for.. of course DC and the Fandom forgets this.. DC forgets it because they hate adopted kids.. the fandom cause they just think of him as weather wizards son.. and not iris' too they disregard the other stuff.. and honestly brushes it off but still he was her son.. not by blood but still! Also the fact Barry died and never got to be a dad to Don and Dawn it comes into play.. he comes back and gets a second chance to be a father and husband, to Iris, to Josh.. he gets to get a second chance at life and do the stuff he missed out on.. instead dc went back to the old status quo, retconned his origin, committed character assassination and did flashpoint.. also it would've brought a lot of interesting potential to post resurrection barry.. how barry deals with being back.. and having a family again.. what will his relationship with his new adopted son be? how does iris genuinely deal with barry being back theres a lot of emotions and baggage that comes with that.. she raised her twins alone.. with no one but her parents to call too.. and barry was dead and she was forced to be alone in a life of isolation cause she feared her knowledge of the future.. and it troubled her so deeply.. she shouldn't just be like "oh barrys back! woohoo!" which was how they potrayed things for the most part like nothing happened.. but yeah it was missed potential barry being back.. it was mostly used to sideline wally too.. and for wally? how does he feel with barry being back? its going to affect people! they'll be happy and grateful but theres a level of exploration thats never brought up..

Anyway.. Rogues Revenge sucks balls.. also ruined Thads character so yeah

JOSH’S SPEECH WASN’T ABOUT TOMMY.

OMFG.

Buck’s freak out wasn’t about Tommy. It was about his fear of abandonment.

Josh’s speech wasn’t about Tommy.

As you all have pointed out Tommy’s relationship with Abby wasn’t pre-glee.

You know who did end up basically using a woman as a beard out of fear in a pre-glee world?

Eddie.

Didn’t it strike you as odd how in a conversation about Tommy where they have been freely and happily using his name Josh only uses “He” when it comes to his speech?

The fucking Pre-glee speech isn’t really about Tommy. It’s a set up.

Even the people who have been calling him a plot device have failed to see how almost nothing that happened in the episode was about him.

He is there as a mirror to Eddie. Or at least a place holder. The writing is on the wall and y’all are scrambling to look for clues in the goddamn cabinets.
