I wasn’t satisfied with the one postgender flag that I found so I uh, made my own (plus postgirl + postboy versions).

Colour choices/meanings:

Teal - movement or moving on, as in no longer identifying with a particular gender

Gold - spirit and fortune

White - purity and truth

(Off-)Black - lack of gender, or at least lack of the gender you no longer identify as

Grey is mostly meant to be a placeholder so people can edit the flag easier (the way I do it is by putting a colour overlay on the two bottom stripes because it’s fast, but you can tweak the colours more if you want).

(Please keep in mind that I am an inclusionist! You can use my flags even if you’re not, all I ask is that you’re not nasty about the discourse and please @ me if you use them!)

I think pan and bi are kind of like different brands of the same cereal. Theoretically, they're basically identical. They're made to be nearly identical things.They fulfill identical breakfast functions. They may seem identical to someone who's not particularly into that kind of cereal.

But to someone for whom one label is their favorite "cereal"? It "tastes" different, their preference can't really be logicked or moralized into the other "cereal" because "it tastes better" doesn't apply either of those, and they will be upset if you get a "box" of the wrong one, and you'd be a jerk if you did it on purpose.

Some people like the "taste" of postgender theory framing and neon flags, and some people like historic and recognizable terminology, a cool-toned flag, and blessed freedom from all the "pan" jokes. Other people don't have a preference, so long as you get what they mean—to follow the metaphor, cereal is cereal, and they are not awake enough at this hour to care about brands or flavor, pass the coffee, cream, and sugar.

But seriously, neither is the one "right" label. Seriously, being what we are, you'd think we'd realize by now we're just not capable of settling for only one of two binary alternatives!

Various gender terms with no known flags (part 30)

Polargenders: A trans person who completely lacks the femininity/masculinity normally associated with their gender identity, and does not wish to become more masculine/more feminine in order to fit better into gender roles or to “pass.” The prefix polar- comes from the phrase “polar opposite.” This refers to the person being the polar opposite of what society believes women/men to look like, but still just as valid in their identity.

Pomogender: A gender where one denies or does not fit any labels for any particular gender. For example, someone who knows they're not cis, but is not interested, or can't specify what their gender(s) are. See also: Comgender

Posigender and Negagender: A feeling that one’s gender is defined by or influenced by positive (posigender) or negative (negagender) symptoms of their schizophrenia.
