Tristan: The structure seems sturdy enough to keep out creatures. Humans could break through a window. Why lock the doors?

Kas: It’s not a matter of keeping people and creatures in or out, Tristan.

Tristan: Right.

Kas: Communal dinners on Monday and Sundays. Nadine is strict with that. Fail to attend, and you get no food.

Tristan: Any other repercussions?

Kas: Passive aggression.

Tristan: Scary.

2. Kas: If they really wanted power, I’d expect them to use violence. But I suppose they don’t want it badly enough.

Tristan: Is that how you’d run this place if you were at the head?

Kas: Not over something as meaningless as a curfew.

3. Kas: What about you, Tristan?

4. Tristan: …what about me?

5.  Kas: Do you like power?

6.  Tristan: No.

7. Kas: Most people say that. It’s what they’ve been conditioned to think. What you’re forgetting is that if you’re not the one in power, someone else is.

8. Tristan: Power and control aren’t necessarily the same thing, are they?

Kas: Hmm.

9. Tristan: You don’t have to rule by fear. You can be in power because people put their trust in you willingly.

10. Kas: Does it make a difference? Loyalty is as much a leash as being under someone’s power by force. And having someone’s chosen loyalty gives you just as much control over them—if not more.

11. Kas: So?

Nyon Nervous Specter's Current Concern: "Those Guys."

Handcrafting my own lore and making Nyon suffer experience Situations through the sole fact that he is the recently-moved-in Goths neighbor and subsequently has to deal with Alex's pestering, and because it's Alex, the other two are always there too. Suddenly, moving away to college doesn't seem all that intimidating anymore.

you know how we have these two promo images of ivan and till?

paralleling their young selves and their current selves. young ivan sits with till and happily watches him sing, older ivan stares more seriously at till as they're about to enter the contest, having just made some sort of decision (we don't know what exactly that means yet. to lose? to not compete? to tie? to... win? given his convo with sua that might be the "nicer" option in his mind)

and now the promo art for round 6 dropped, "cure"

its OBVIOUSLY playing on paralleling these shots again. this time it seems to be after till got punished and is asleep or unconscious (or maybe he just has his eyes closed, but i dont think hes awake- he's not the type to be so chill about the face touching)

what if... its also meant to parallel a "future" shot? just like the previous two?

if till ends up dying this round (SAD!) we could end up seeing the second half of it. with ivan's hand on till's corpse. but this is pure conjecture, not super likely. im just saying is all.

This project has been something I've wanted to do for a while but only now got around to actually making it.

The real painting's name is The Defense of the Sampo in English (by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, 1896). Yes, the Sampo is golden pizzas in this "AU", because obviously! And the pike jaw kantele is April's video camera.
