Oh you have complicated feelings towards Germany? Let me make 91836373 assumptions about it with my piss poor understanding of history, not listen to germans at all and then come to a horrendously bad and false conclusion on why that is! Also I think you germans should stop feeling guilty and be proud of your country again!
#I know people mean well when they say stuff like you should be proud of your country but my fucking god they are annoying#rains rants#german stuff#''I'm sure now that I a random person with no connection to germany commented this somewhere with my obvious zero understanding of germany-#all germans reading this will go 'oh hey you're right' and then feel patriotic! I'm sure my dumb comment will solve a what I regard#as issue of an entire country with a population of 80 million people! no need to thank me and my superior world view!''#sorry had to let that out somewhere.. the amount of times I see stupid ass comments like that is insane#ough post derailed I should've specified how I ment this sorry I get easily annoyed at this#The notes reinforce something I specifically did NOT mean but I didn't specify that in the post that was just in my thoughts#hate the reinforcement of the 'guilt' stereotype or the as long as we deal with nazis and stuff we aren't 'allowed' to be proud like no-#wait this isn't what this was about. Yes they're all still own topics to be discussed#although the last point doesn't exist agh forget everything I said actually#it's learning from history and taking responsibility not we can't be proud because some people are antisemitic and our past is dark#I should've turned off reblogs way earlier

when sapkowski is all “i don’t believe in absolute evil” like he didn’t write like vilgefortz and leo bonhart and birkart grellenort likeeee okkkk but those guys were preeeetty evil though
#likeeee it kind of seems to me that… they got pretty close. to absolute evil. you know#like uhhh… nilfgaardian invasion detailed in baptism of fire anyone#though ok ok his point was that there is no absolute evil as in being motivated by evil itself#that evil always has its own motivations and those motivations can be evil but it’s not evil for the sake of being evil#HOWEVER that being said i feel like bonhart really was just evil for the sake of being evil#you could say for the sake of sadism or for greed (him being the anti-geralt lol and actually being a stereotyped idea of witcher ngl)#buuuut i feel like sadism and greed are just niche evils themselves#with vilgefortz and the wallcreeper and also emhyr (didnt mention his ass at first but throw him in too) they’re more just power hungry#and wanting revenge on those that wronged them (interesting because isn’t this also what our protags want—minus the power)#anyways reviewing these interviews again has me 😂😳😌 but also 🤨#sometimes i feel like (with this discussion on evil) the economics background really shines through LMAO#like well sometimes i feel like there really is evil that is evil evil. sometimes people are just hateful and targeting with their hate#and you know this yourself bc you wrote it wtf#like you’re not gonna call the human peasants who slaughtered the dwarves and elves in rivia evil? i would call that absolute evil#maybe not their entire lives but in that instance true evil manifested#i feel like the definition of evil im getting at is hate and bloodthirst#which yeah sometimes that exists for no reason whatsoever#i mean it can be based out of economic ‘reasoning’ (manipulated into propaganda) to scapegoat a population and target of hate#but it quickly excels past any reason whatsoever. yeahh i dont think evil always has a motivation outside of evil. disagree#the elbow-high diaries#also there’s more context here i’m leaving out bc its just too much to talk about in the tags of this post

Not stereotyping people includes men too
In a world where stereotyping people because of their colour/race/religion/gender is rightly frowned upon, the "all men" bullshit needs to end.
It is plain stereotyping, passing judgment on a whole section of society because of the category they were born in. If you would not judge someone by their sexuality, by their nationality, if you would not judge a woman just because she's a woman, you should not be against men just for being male.
And notice how when women comment that's it's not all men, and talk about their positive experiences with men, the radfems shoot them down with vengeance. Why? Because their challenging the spew that all "men are monsters" and pointing out that the world is not so black and white. Like every social category in the world, some people will be good and just and kind and some people will be cruel and hateful. But it has nothing to do with their social categories and everything to do with the individual and the choices in life they make.
Now, from my personal experience, I have experienced some bad ones. I've had the creepy guy sneaking into the girls shower at high school, the perves in the bar, the guy who broke all professional protocol to get my phone number and made me feel unsafe. There's a list. But I also know my step-father, who I trust with my life, the men in my extended family, my male friends, classmates, coworkers. I remember being 18 and traveling alone with my male supervisor to work on isolated sites in the hills and later going into the scrubland with four male colleagues, and they behaved with complete respect and professionalism, they treated me with complete equality, as a fellow colleague.
So no, I will never let the "all men" argument slide, because lumping the good people in the world in the same pot with the bad ones is always harmful. It fosters hate and division. We are supposed to be becoming an enlightened, rational, equal society.
#Equality for all#anti misandry#anti sexism#anti radical feminism#Not all men#Stereotyping#gender equality#Stereotyping hurts everyone#It doesn't matter what percentages people work with#You cannot judge half the planet as being exactly the same#No two people are the same#Let along half the population

There is NO WAY gringos are this stupid 💀 apparently a character can only be Brazilian now if they walk around with blue, yellow and green Carnaval clothing
#theo is rambling again#way to go stereotyping a WHOLE entire nation with a huge diversity in regards to culture and their population#she does have Carnaval elements in her design. but gringos only accept it if she's a walking stereotype of my own culture 💀#she is already a Brazil stereotype but people want her to be EVEN MORE so they can accept it omg#and these people are so eager to be disrespectful towards any Brazilian who DARES feeling represented#they tell us our culture is only make-up and shorts or glitter but if it were us saying that about them they would say it's xenophobic#but apparently Brazilians aren't worthy of having our culture respected in their vision

The Social Consequences of Marketing
Marketing, while essential for businesses and economies, has also been criticized for causing harm to society in various ways. Here are some significant ways in which marketing has negatively impacted society:
1. Promotion of Consumerism
Excessive consumption: Marketing often encourages the idea that happiness and success are linked to material goods, promoting a culture of consumerism. This has led to excessive consumption, debt, and environmental damage, as people are driven to buy more than they need.
Planned obsolescence: Companies sometimes design products with limited lifespans, encouraging consumers to buy new versions frequently. This practice contributes to waste, depletion of resources, and increased consumer spending.
2. Exploitation of Insecurities
Body image and self-esteem: Advertising in industries like fashion, beauty, and fitness often exploits people's insecurities by promoting unrealistic beauty standards. This can lead to mental health issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, body dysmorphia, and even eating disorders.
Fear-based marketing: Some marketing strategies use fear to sell products, such as insurance, security systems, or health products, by making consumers feel unsafe or inadequate without them.
3. Targeting Vulnerable Populations
Children: Marketing often targets children, who are particularly susceptible to persuasive messages. This leads to the commercialization of childhood, with kids exposed to unhealthy food, consumerist values, and a materialistic mindset from an early age.
Low-income groups: Companies sometimes market harmful products, such as payday loans or unhealthy foods, more aggressively to low-income populations, exacerbating financial hardship or health problems.
4. Perpetuation of Stereotypes and Social Divides
Gender roles: Marketing often reinforces gender stereotypes, portraying women as caregivers or men as breadwinners, thereby perpetuating outdated norms that limit gender equality and diversity.
Cultural appropriation and tokenism: Some brands use cultural symbols or minority groups in marketing campaigns without understanding their significance, which can lead to cultural appropriation and tokenism, alienating and misrepresenting marginalized communities.
5. Environmental Damage
Overemphasis on fast fashion and disposable goods: Marketing has contributed to the rise of fast fashion and a throwaway culture, promoting short-term use of cheap, disposable products. This has serious environmental consequences, including pollution, resource depletion, and the generation of vast amounts of waste.
Greenwashing: Some companies falsely market products as "environmentally friendly" or "sustainable" in an attempt to capitalize on consumers' eco-consciousness, misleading the public and delaying genuine action on environmental issues.
6. Manipulation and Misinformation
False advertising: Companies sometimes make exaggerated or false claims about their products, misleading consumers and creating false expectations. This can be particularly harmful when it comes to health products, pharmaceuticals, or weight-loss treatments.
Addictive design: Marketing techniques are increasingly used to promote addictive behaviors, particularly in the context of social media, video games, or gambling. Companies manipulate users through behavioral nudges and psychological triggers that keep them hooked.
7. Invasion of Privacy
Data mining and surveillance: With the rise of digital marketing, companies have gained unprecedented access to consumers’ personal data. Many firms engage in data mining and targeted advertising based on individuals' online behavior, often without full transparency or consent, leading to concerns about privacy and data security.
Personalization and manipulation: Highly personalized marketing can lead to manipulation, as companies can target individuals with ads tailored to their specific vulnerabilities, making it harder for consumers to make objective decisions.
8. Promotion of Unhealthy Lifestyles
Junk food advertising: Aggressive marketing of unhealthy foods, particularly to children, has been linked to rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and other diet-related diseases.
Alcohol and tobacco marketing: Despite restrictions in some countries, marketing of alcohol, tobacco, and vaping products continues to glamorize these potentially harmful substances, leading to addiction and public health crises.
9. Contributing to Financial Instability
Credit and debt marketing: Marketing of credit cards, loans, and other financial products often promotes spending beyond one's means, contributing to personal debt and financial instability. Predatory lending practices, such as payday loans, are frequently marketed to those already in financial difficulty.
10. Reduction of Authenticity and Creativity
Commercialization of art and culture: Marketing can sometimes reduce art, culture, and creativity to mere products to be sold, stripping them of their authenticity. This can lead to the commodification of creative expression and a focus on profit over substance.
Trend exploitation: By constantly pushing new trends, marketing fosters a culture of superficiality and short-term thinking, where value is placed on what is fashionable or trending rather than what is meaningful or lasting.
While marketing plays a critical role in the economy by connecting consumers with products, it also has significant social, psychological, and environmental consequences. From promoting overconsumption and exploiting insecurities to targeting vulnerable groups and contributing to environmental degradation, marketing practices have often prioritized profit over societal well-being. Reforming marketing to be more ethical and socially responsible is essential for creating a healthier, more sustainable society.

isn't norfolk famous for inbreeding?
laughing
ask any norfolker and they'll tell you it's a smear campaign started by Suffolk
#as a stereotype yes#yes it is. but not just norfolk#the whole of the fens/the broads have this stereotype because they're so remote and historically isolated#and has a relatively very low population#same goes for why wales gets the stereotype of “sheep shaggers”

its interesting the show didnt seem to go the "kid with immigrant parents" route with connie especially since its a common thing for immigrant parents to be so strict both because they want their child to seize the opportunity given to them by them moving away from home and with cultures in especially asian countries being so harsh on academics.
#meeting older asian people who are 'chill'(??)/amaericanized#is NUTS like oh youre not going to be mad becayse we're breaking an outdated custom youre clinging to because its what you know?#specifically with india their education system is nutty#very cuthroat and its apparent in how they raise their kids in the states..#this goes with a lot of asian countries#edit: i’m going to amend myself with the ‘lot of asian countries’ part bc im mostly just thinking of china#and the ‘smart asian’ and ‘tiger mom’ stereotype actually does irk me because other than the fact that culture =/= homogenous population#a lot of countries aren’t so academics focused!#but you get a limited sample size when it comes to asian immigrants#bc of either the opportunity point or the fact that many of them moved BECAUSE they could get a good education#think ‘brain drain’

you guys ever think about the milgram shock experiments? i think about the milgram shock experiments a lot. they feel kinda relevant right now for some reason. hm
#marzi speaks#marzirants#humans are inclined to follow orders. it is how our brain works#we inherently don’t like starting conflict so we tend to do what we’re told#if we don’t like doing what we’re told to do then we tend to try to come up with a justification for it#in the case of the shock experiments it was ‘i will not be responsible if someone is hurt. it will be the testers’ fault’#we eventually decide to resist when the cognitive dissonance of commiting the action becomes more than that of disobeying#which is at a different point for each person#some people are better at resisting orders than others. this may be inherent but is (by my hypothesis) more likely to be practiced#some people- in an attempt to justify their actions- almost adopt a persona able to commit crueler crimes#one man mentioned being disgusted with himself in the debrief of the experiment#during the experiment he had become almost sadistic- pressing the button more than was necessary and smiling upon hearing screams of pain#they were fake but he didn’t know that at the time#all this to say. we are all incredibly susceptible to propaganda- especially from those we view as authority figures#be it from a government or people we simply look up to#so. when a government-lead genocide occurs. it is not a good idea to blame every citizen of that government for it#chances are any citizen assisting the government fell for the propaganda. chances are you’ve fallen for some of your own#because even with our desires to justify bad things. a genocide is a lot for someone to justify#so . to assume an entire population is cruel simply because their government is#would be. bad. especially if that population already has some separate negative stereotypes about them#which are inherently insiduous and could be dogwhistled in to a lottt of language#um. hold people accountable for sure#but make sure they’re actually responsible for anything first#and be careful not to fall for propaganda of your own. because it is not something that just ‘the bad guys’ make#mkay. getting off my soapbox now. i have homework to finish and a shower to take

TW: Self harm, killing, horrible DID stereotype, and a few F bombs
How much anger does it take one to develope (might be a side system of) alters who gets angry with/threatens other alters to die by nailing and scratching hard into the body's hand, and the reason is "why can't you just go out and kill at least somebody", and lures you with a who fucking knows how they managed to produce that terrifying JOY of KILLING in the same brain with us??????
I know this is a fucking horrible stereotype of DID but this is just so fucking messed up.
Accupture held us back from a fucking mentally terrible week, and ffs the cut on emotional related minerals (because the praticipationar thought its side effect was the main thing that made us have difficulty in poo, and thank goodness at least that did work out and we're still living) was real.
#If overt DID is about 6% of DID population; what is the odd for a fucking horrible DID stereotype irl#did#osddid#did osdd#osdd#pdid#osdd did#dissociative identity disorder#plurality

From what I hear of the Barbie movie, all the male characters are either losers or bigots. Folks, the solution to movies only having one-dimensional female characters is not to make more movies that have one-dimensional male characters. I will not be watching
#Barbie movie#Misandry#If you cant write a movie that doesnt stereotype half the population then youre a hack#Actually -0% surprised that mattel pumped out pop feminist schlock#NotAllFeminists of course 😜#Im not telling you what you should do with your life. Oh my god why the fuck do people insist on publishing recipes like 'pancake recipe' and then the ingredient list is 'pancake mix + water' or 'fresh lemonade recipe' and then the first ingredient is... Wait for it... Fucking 'lemonade'
What do these people think a recipe is?? And how has the internet got so SEO rotted that this crap comes so high in search results
#Also#Not to stereotype#And I know one factor of this is just population numbers on the english language internet#But it is always americans#/Rant over
