Nine Lives and One Scar

For as young as he might be, the years haven't been too kind to Ebengir. This brown shorthair is marked with stripes and whiskers, but the part people always point out is the wraps of bandaging around his head, culminating in a cover for a bloody mess that stains through over his left eye. The wound doesn't bother him though, and the wide-eyed do-gooder always appears ignorant to the judging words, preferring to help his neighbors the best he can, just as he always has. It's his firm belief that by helping those in need, he can secure a brighter future for everyone, an ambition you see in his good eye, and that tends to rub off on the friends around him. Despite how approachable he is, and how much he likes to chat with others, some of his social encounters can end more awkward than others due to him completely missing some social cues, especially the flirting kind. Another way such exchanges can go wrong is when people ask about his eye. Sure, he'll tell you the story of how he lost it, but who can say if the story he told you is true? Certainly not the others who all heard a different version entirely. One thing that is more consistent than the rest in these stories, though, is how he served as a soldier in a war that the world seems to have forgotten about. He tells it like he fought for the future of everyone, and maybe his fight isn't over...
