Opinions on season 2 of Stardust Rhapsody with some spoilers below!

After a week marinating on watching stardust rhapsody s2 because people were disappointed at the reboot, I finally ended up watching it and I gotta say I loved it! In my personal opinion, I do think that it was the right choice to reboot it since for me s1’s characters storylines did feel a bit jumbled up with tons of different themes trying to be mushed together. I also felt like a lot of stuff happened just because they’d be cool or funny without thinking about how it would affect the plot.

Season 2 feels a lot more cohesive for me though I will miss the season 1 gang a lot. I think giving myself that week to sort of just sit on the reboot before watching made it easier. I love all the new characters (Quibly wasn’t here for a long time but I adored his design) and I can’t wait for the next stream! :D

spoiler warning for stardust Rhapsody episode 15 and 16

I know it's been several days since sdr, but I just want to point out that none of it is any less real. Look me in the eyes when I tell you that every story is entirely made up and just because it isn't canon doesn't make it any less real. I have been in the Marauders fandom for years. Do you think I care what's canon? Just because s1 isn't part of the canon storyline can't erase that the story was told and lived and loved. You can still go back and watch it whenever you want. It's still there, and a story within a story is just as real to us as the story itself.

And honestly? I'm not too sad about the whole thing. Was Leboosh one of my favorite characters, and one that I will deeply miss not seeing in the same way again? Yes, of course. But I'm also excited for a new storyline with Ziggy and to have Derek playing a character that he feels fully happy and comfortable with. I think Leboosh did well in emotional scenes, but if Derek didn't feel connected to the story on the way he wanted to be, he's the one playing and he should be having fun, and if everyone is having fun it will be more fun to watch.

Also a part of me is just excited that Pyke is alive. I don't think I could have dealt with a full season of Rett missing Pyke and having a crew that was just Rett, Leboosh, and Chuckles. Like, I love those characters, but of the others are all gone and 2/3 of the party feels trapped by who they're playing, how fun will it be?

aldo, tell me the everyone leaving and then Mace alone and then Pyke reading with him wasn't gut wrenching and cool af.

TL,DR: I will miss the old characters and I realize that this means we won't get anymore of the old SDR, but I think this was the right choice for everyone to have fun and make this campaign the best that it could be
