A Darker side of Dryad Husbandry

While their status as household pets and decoration is widely known, there are far more gruesome uses for a Dryad; things not discussed in polite company, if at all.

Many human scientists have taken to researching the species' regenerative properties, often subjecting Dryads to brutal experiments in order to test and document their limits.

Other researchers try for innovation: experimenting with Dryads' limbs and organs in an effort to create something that would be compatible with a human in need of a transplant, or testing new agricultural formulas and methods.

Not every research project is legal, but most governments are willing to turn a blind eye to the science guilds' work on Dryads in the name of progress.

Darker still are the underground circles frequented by those who are rich and depraved enough to access them. Here, Dryads (and Naiads) may be forced to fight, experimented on by inexperienced lords, or even eaten as a delicacy.

Okay, I love FiddleStan so much, because it is NOT supposed to happen at all. There is maybe one or two canon feasible moments of the ship, if you really stretch it. It is a crackship that has no canon moments, and formed from pretty much one reason.

"Fiddle" "Ford." FiddleFord Hardon McGucket was destined by name to be with StandFORD Pines. It was in his name. He knew Ford for nearly a decade (college in the 70s up to '82 portal incident). It was the ultimate "and they were roommates." But no, Ford decided to have a situationship with Trigonometry.

This fandom got back at Ford for Fidds. We made Fidds say "Fuck you Ford, please break up with the maniac, I'm leaving" and he fucked Ford's brother while Ford was stuck in the portal (but he also loves Stan tho and its healthy [as it can be under all circumstances] and cute).

We love vengeance and love for Fidds.

Drives me mad to think Stanford was this close to calling Stan earlier if not for Bill’s interference, and as a fucked up call back, Bill pulls the “Suicidal Phone Call to Stan” on Ford after they breakup.

Long before Weirdmageddon, Bill did not like Stan. Abusers isolate victims. It was easy with Fiddleford, but Bill knew Ford missed his brother deeply. Stan’s personality is much stronger and louder than Fiddleford’s. Stan was gonna pull Ford away if Bill allowed Ford to reach out because despite everything Bill has some understanding of interpersonal relationships.

Because if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have threatened to call Stan. He knows deep, deep down inside that Ford wants his brother back.

It hurts so much to reread the lost Journal pages. Ford’s loneliness was so palpable. He was a deeply lonely man who really didn’t know how to talk to people. That’s what Stan was there for.
