I've been rewatching justice league unlimited after finishing the justice league and I don't think the flash has had a single speaking line despite...y'know...being a member of the og team
#him and martian man hunter have had the least amount of screen time but at least we know j'onn is doing things behind the scenes#poor wally 😭#actually this is so funny wait ok#in one of the episodes theres an alien invasion of these bugs that eat everything#and they show wally boom tubing(?) down with the rest of the JL to help#but i am 99% sure they didnt animate wally in the fight scenes against the alien bugs 😭😭😭 thats insane they did him so dirty#im hoping this changes soon i think im like 14 or so eps in and i barely remember this show...i watching it when i was veryyyy young lol#so maybe ill be pleasantly surprised with a wally-centric ep#tbh though im a bit surprised by how. unorganized? this show is#like yeah its part of an animated universe so you do have to watch a few shows to get context for a few characters#but its still kinda insane to me that they ended the justice league series the way they did and then BAM they have all these heroes in JLU#no promises that ill actually watch all the series but does anyone have like. the order to watch the DC animated universe shows? im curious#scout.txt

JL press conference.
Since soon it will come Pride Month, they are asked what plans they have for it, and everyone answer the usual: patrolling the parade that will take place in their cities, so that it'll go safely.
But then a reporter specifically asks Batman, adding: "Can you state something on the latest theories circulating about you?"
"What those theories are saying?" Batman's voice crakles, flat like his expression.
"Some far right incel groups are convinced that the lack of your presence during the parades is a clear evidence about your homophobia."
Silence falls on the pressroom.
Various JL's members look alarmed at each other, dreading Batman's reaction. Oliver, the only one that knows his real identity, just smirks to himself and waits. The tension builds up until Diana reaches for the microphone, but stops herself when Bruce rises a hand.
"Is that what they say?" he speaks again, inscrutable.
"They do have a point." the reporter teases him, "So, anything to state about?"
After which Bruce - a not-so-closeted bi who lost count of how many of his kids are queer, and who's currently running on coffee, painkillers and spite - chose violence.
Where 'violence' means grabbing Superman by his nape a smashing their mouths together.
After a second of pure shock, the pressroom erupts into a chaos of shrieked questions and camera flashes.
Diana palmfaces hard, Oliver brusts out laughing, Barry and Hal excange bet money. The only JL member just slightly confused but still composed is J'onn.
Too surprised to know how to react, Clark leans into the kiss, letting Bruce eating his face out in front of the press - which giving their status it very well means in front of the whole world. But oh he's gonna make him pay, both for this whole public embarrassment and for having their first kiss in this darn situation.
When Bruce feels satisfyied about the show, he parts from Clark with a loud 'smooch', dries the spit from his mouth with the back of his hand and turns to the press, again silent.
"Sorry, where you saying? Oh yes..."
"Don't..." Diana pleas through her teeth.
Patting Clark's arm to comfort the poor man, Oliver grins and says: "C'mon B... do it!"
"Don't instigate him!" Diana hisses to him.
Bruce rises a grapple and launch it up, flipping off the whole room while he disappears crashing through the cieling.
Oliver is laughing again, Hal is clapping and whistling.
"I am not sure about what just did occurr." J'onn approcces Barry, "Isn't Batman in love with Kal-El and reciprocated? What is this turmoil about?"
"I guess it's... uhm... complicated?" Barry says.
"I'm going to kill him!" Diana snarls at the broken cieling.
Red-faced and disheveled and surrounded by overly excited reporters, Clark grumbles: "Not if I find him first."

Bruce Wayne being the crush of nearly all the Justice League members...
Clark is regularly seen more happy than usual in Batman's presence, offering the stoic man an absurd amount of help for no reason, even if he is pushed away by the Bat. He's always keeping tabs on the man's heartbeat to make sure he's safe and healthy because he can't bear to even think that his best friend could be sick or dying somewhere.
Hal is snarky and throws more comments around, yet everyone can see the way his gaze appreciates Batman's wide chest. He'll blame it on thinking his logo changed if anyone asks. And, sure, he'll throw little flirty jabs at Batman, but everyone else does, too, so it's okay, right? ...right...?
Diana is... normal. Nobody really notices the way her gaze lingers on Bruce's body for a moment more than everyone else's after a long mission, checking to see if anybody is severely injured. Maybe it's just because he's human, so she wants to make sure her teammate is safe.
Barry grows increasingly red (nearly the same shade as his suit) whenever Bruce is near him. He doesn't understand why—he has a wife, after all—but maybe it's just the tall, dark, and handsome cliché getting to him. Maybe the Bat is just an awakening of a part of him he didn't know he had.
Oliver torments Bruce as a civilian and in uniform. He's one of the few who can interact with the Bat in any situation, and he uses it to his advantage. He openly flirts at galas (Bruce is forced to return the sentiment to keep up his Brucie persona) and during missions, and nobody outside of the JL can put together the dots that these two particular men are weirdly romantic with one another.
Then, there's poor, poor J'onn who has to listen to all their ridiculous thoughts like he's being strapped to a chair and forced to watch the most dramatic soap opera that has ever been created. (He does not miss Bruce's little proud comments to himself after each weird interaction.)

Love your portrayal of J'onn. He always needs more attention, as far as I'm concerned. And hey, DC might not care or know what to do with him, but he's got a spot in the upcoming Absolute DC line-up of books. Maybe they'll put in a good showing for the poor guy.
I'm not much of a comic book fan, the last thing I read was that 2019 MM series. I'm curious to see what they'll come up with with him, I hope to live to see the day when he's allowed to fully use his powers. I was holding out hope for the animated tomorrowverse, but J'onn was poorly revealed there.

hi i really really like you’re justice league series and you’re writing overall!!
poor reader must feel a different type of work burn out some days or maybe everyday lmao. was wondering how the justice league would react to the readers burnout being more visible or i guess obvious even if reader hides it (martian reading their mind or the worlds best detective batman noticing). would they let them take time off? suggest for them to go on a vacation, maybe even with one of them. it’s funny to imagine them trying to organize a vacation for reader. maybe even try and get the kids (sidekicks) to go on the vacation and make it seem like a happy family. it would be weird to see batman or superman at a beach or disneyland in their costumes because reader still doesn’t know their identities.
sorry my english is bad.
I have lots of requests about Reader going to the beach, taking a break, going on a vacation, just trying to relax and get rid of burnout (which I'm going to write eventually), but since this one is slightly different, with the JL being the ones to notice and suggest a break, I'm going to answer this quick while I'm trying to clean my inbox
I think some of them would try to join Reader straight away, like Hal, Barry, Diana and Arthur, still in their uniforms, being like "Hey, let me take you there this weekend!", as if you're not trying to take a break from them. Bruce, Clark and J'onn on the other hand, I think as superheroes, they would just keep an eye on them from afar, making sure they're safe and no one's bothering or flirting with them
... That doesn't stop them from joining you on their civilian identities
Reader's like, wow, so many good looking people trying to chat me up here! And BRUCE WAYNE! While they made it all up.

the phrase "shared trinity hallway" from the opening of 'sooner or later' has me just picturing Diana and J'onn having tea and absolutely commiserating about the things that come out of that hallway. J'onn has to deal with everything psychically cause Clark gets caught up in the heat of the moment and forgets all his mental projection and blocking training and Diana has to share a wall with those two and Clark likes to play games to make Bruce break his quiet demeanor ( Clark is very very good at said games, much to Diana's dismay).
No one else in the watchtower have to deal with that quite like they do so they sit there together, wishing their drinks were a little stronger.
Poor Diana and J’onn, you’re so right. They’re going THROUGH it. Those walls better be well insulated, Bruce. I just loved the idea of Bruce and Clark maintaining separate quarters mostly just for appearances lol. And Bruce gets a safe section of the Watchtower for just him, Diana and Clark where he doesn’t have to be AS uptight.

Verse with tele-empath powers is getting a reboot to explore said powers? Hello, yes.
Re-verse, engage!
Covered in blood and filth, whimpering in the bottom of a cage, was a small, broken child. So small, huddled and androgynous- Dick couldn't tell if it was a male or female child. He only knew it was a child.
And that the feeling of fear and desperation- helpless, hopelss sadness, is coming from them. "Batman," he murmured into his comlink, "I think you need to see this."
"What is it?" Bruce demanded, silently ordering Tim out of the room full of bodies. Scientists that had taken their own lives.
"A kid," he answered, kneeling next to the bars. "It's gonna be okay," he said to you. "We're gonna get you out of here okay?"
Slowly an arm moves away from a face and reveals a gaunt face and hollow cheeks. Hair that had been shaved so close they've nicked your scalp... It made his heart twist. "You shouldn't let me out," you tell him.
"Why's that," he asked, keeping his tone light. Were you a Meta? An Alien? He'd seen other empty cages. Dead guards. And he felt... Well. He wasn't sure what he felt but. God it was so heavy. He wrapped his hand around the bars to keep his balance and settled in. You just looked so small.
"Monsters belong in Cages," you murmur, laying your head back down. Like holding it up was too much. Like the weight of the world was pressing down on you. "I killed them. All of them."
________________
"How is our patient?" Dick asked slipping into the medical bay of the watch Tower.
"Troubled," J'onn J'onzz answered, "but, I believe I would be too if I had had her story."
Dick nodded but, didn't ask further questions. He, Clark, Tim, and Bruce had been putting the pieces together while you healed. And what they found... well. They didn't say that you were a monster. They said that you were a little girl put in a monstrous situation.
"Thank you for sitting with her," he said, proffering a pack of oreos. "I just didn't want her to wake up totally alone when she opened her eyes." His preference would have been for Diana- but. She was who knows where. And at least J'onn could anticipate what she was thinking. And he could be patient.
"Of course. Poor creature. She yearns."
And before Dick could ask what for he was gone. And Dick pulled himself up a chair, and helped himself to a magazine, helping himself to a cosmo with a snort. "Let's see what my ideal date with Bruce Wayne is, huh? Bet he hate's all this shit. They always get it wrong."

Spookycorp
Lena sighed, picking up the toy train from the floor. She must've told them to pick it a hundred times already, not that she was deluding herself that any of them would listen to her today, no, they were far too excited to be doing that. She shook her head and cleared the rest of the scattered toys on the floor, and reached her work table. She had a last minute file she had to send before she could be free for the day.
"Muuuuuuum!" The shout from the hall got closer by the second. "Mum look!"
Lena turned her head to see her six years old son wearing an elaborate pirate costume, holding their new puppy up in the air.
"Mum, look at Krypto!" He said, biting his lip in excitement, practically vibrating from joy.
The dog had colourful cloth wings tied around his neck and a little hoodie with a beak and painted eyes.
"He's a parrot?" She tried.
Connor nodded enthusiastically. "Jeju dressed him!"
"Very cute. Then you were free to clean up the toys I told you to collect?" She raised an accusing eyebrow.
"Uhhh…" He started, but was cut off by his sister who quickly appeared on his left.
"Mum, you're not ready!" Lori pointed at her mother with her little hand. She was dressed in a pirate costume as well. It was their family costume after all.
Lena smiled. She knew full well her daughter tried to distract her in order to help her twin, but it was a rather exciting day so she could let them go this once. "I'll be ready in a moment, there's still some time. Go help your Jeju with setting everything for our guests. They should be here soon."
"Okay!" They shouted in unison and disappeared from her view before she could say anything else.
Lena let out a small chuckle and finished her work. She turned to leave the room when she noticed the crooked picture on the wall and stopped to fix it. It was a picture from their wedding day both smiling as they stood under the chuppah dressed in white Kryptonian dresses, Lena's dress had a small handkerchief tied to hers with a small embroidered shamrock. An Irish tradition she thought was beautiful. They decided to make a multicultural wedding, they exchanged Kryptonian wedding bracelets they specially made themselves, along with rings. J'onn, who acted as the pastor, married them, and they both broke the glass together. The kids were there as well, laughing and dancing with joy and delight.
Lena smiled at the memory, and continued to their bedroom. The costume wasn't too complicated to put on, an important aspect she insisted on after the year they all dressed up as astronauts. Getting in and out of that costume was a nightmare, not to mention the kids were three at the time. Lena put on her captain hat and went to join her family in the living room.
"How Rrrr you my beautiful wife?" Kara asked her in a very exaggerated pirate accent. The twins giggled at the attempt.
"I'm fine, darling," she said with a smile as she walked closer to her. "How Rrrr you?" Lena smirked, side-eying the kids who started laughing at her poor pirate accent. She tried to keep a passive expression, that was made harder with their children's laughter and her wife's growing smile. Lena went to kiss her on the cheek when her captain's hat bumped into Kara's. After a long family discussion that involved more arguments than necessary, it was decided that both Lena and Kara would be the captains of the ship, and as captains it was very important that they wear the hats.

✨ Bruce Wayne Headcanons that haunt me but I refuse to elaborate on even if they're utterly wrong Pt. 2✨
Going feral over this man
Hal and Bruce almost share a birthday and it fucking infuriates Bruce for no reason.
My guy was a rebellious teenager growing up, you know, trauma baby tings but also wanting to distance himself from the elite society (I mean rich Gotham really is a different cesspool of evilness lmao who can blame the poor guy.) Not to get deep but the beginning of his crusade was him wanting to seek a life and identity beyond the Wayne name right and witness Gotham from all angles. However, after realising he can both honour and build upon his legacy, Bruce destroyed any proof of this phase as he associates it with his turbulent and troubled coming of age. Little does he know there's a box filled with Polaroids within the 73288199 attics of Wayne Manor ready for his kids to find plus his detailed knowledge about the punk scene of Gotham makes them suspicious anyway.
Bruce learns a lot from his children. He may be their mentor but he's definitely learnt acrobatic tricks from Dick Grayson, combat and body language from Cass etc etc. Black Canary one day complimenting an acrobatic move of Bruce's only for him to have learnt it from one 11 year old Dick Grayson.
Bruce knows every nook and cranny of the watchtower. This guy designed, funded and helped build this fucking thing. Superman can hear him fuckin scurrying in the hundreds of boiler rooms, hidden corridors and storage rooms like a human rat. Flash doesn't understand how this man just teleports from one end of the tower to the other not knowing Bruce built trapdoors, hidden passageways, fake walls in this place. Bruce has a hiding spot in the upper levels of the watchtower where a small window gives view to Earth. J'onn is the only leaguer who can rival Batman in his watchtower knowledge.
He is the unofficial caretaker of the justice league. He makes sure all catering and quarters are fully equipped to people's needs. Overhears a leaguer saying there aren't enough vegetarian options? Bam, fully renewed menu. Barry complaining he can't sleep because his quarter is too cold? Bam, temperature risen. Small things like office supplies, medical equipment - he's always taking mental notes of. He knows what leaguer is allergic to what too. Lad keeps the watchtower STOCKED
The League never fails to wish a member a happy birthday. Somehow word always gets out and no one really knows how the date gets around. It's Bruce. He knows everyone's birthdays. Sometimes photogenic memory doesn't work in his favour. When it comes to respect, compassion and love - Bruce isn't the verbal type. He prefers to show it through action - I mean he crusades around Gotham to show his need to protect people for God's sake. Therefore, he sets like a reminder anonymously on the watchtower monitor for some random hero to find.
My guy HATES Asmr.
Bruce's hair is naturally thick and actually pretty darn curly. Superman is renowned for having the curls, but Bruce - with dirty, grown out hair - can give him a run for his money. His curls never show though as he keeps his hair very short and often has it sleeked back in public (as Thomas and Alfred always told him it was neater and more proper that way.)
He is a PERFECT mix between Thomas and Martha. Everyone who ever meets Brucie Wayne for the first time tells him he's the spitting image of both of them.
My man was a heartthrob in the 90s. Dick and Tim frequently Google "Bruce Wayne 90s" and bust a gut laughing at how their old man is like in every fuckin teenage magazine published in that decade.
#batfam#bruce wayne#batman#justice league#brucie wayne#jla#dc comics#dc headcanon#WHY IS THERE LITERALLY NO ADOLESCENT BRUCE LORE WTF??#Me pondering with my pipe as I reinvent the entirety of the DC universe in my cobwebbed study#Sometimes I like giving batman human emotions so I can imagine Andrew tate fans getting angry at it just to feel something

What were the aspects of Supergirl (show in general or character) that resonated with you personally?
First and foremost, Kara herself... as someone with a ton of trauma, who would have every reason to do not so great things or wield her power for evil, yet does good things and channels her energy into trying to help people -- she's amazing. She is someone who feels isolated a lot of the time and struggles with anger issues but ultimately is such a light and a good person and somebody that just wants to do good for the world, even when it's not always appreciated or understood. Even if it means constant self sacrifice.
I relate to pretty much all of that.
I also loved the idea of Supercorp obviously, because it was such an epic tale in how they were so similar but so different and so inherently fated to be side by side. It could've been so successful if canon romantic on the show instead of just baited. Taking the decades-old lore of Super vs Luthor and instead turning into Super & Luthor -- a story of hate turned into a love story -- that's an incredible concept, and so rich and full of so much storytelling potential. Them just being friends is the 'lite' version of turning that lore on its head. But to go even deeper would've been nothing short of revolutionary.
Alas, instead they chose to tarnish the show's legacy and taint the good it DID do elsewhere in LGBTQ representation (because YES a show can have ancillary rep but still queerbait a lead dynamic -- especially when it's bait that existed before any other rep was even introduced on the show) ...by choosing to be one of the worst examples of queerbait in TV history (due to all of the romanic tropes and parallels and teases and lack of denials by TPTB who very clearly wanted people to stay tuned in based on hope for canon endgame since that very first Clois parallel in 2x01). It was also just an absolute waste of creative potential and true travesty that ultimately only hurt the show and cast and fans and everyone involved, whether everyone is ready to admit it or not.
Anyway, I enjoyed the fact that so many of the characters -- from Kara and Lena (these two especially), to Alex, Nia, and Kelly... so many of them came loaded with one form of trauma or another, but they still were ultimately inherently good people, a great example of 'found family', and heroic as heck in the end, no matter how dark it got at times for some. In large part because they had each other. I mean, I wish they all weren't LITERAL superheroes or supernatural by the end because I think the show (amongst numerous other issues) lost sight of their own messaging that "anyone can be a hero even without powers" but -- they really were inherently such good / ripe characters, the women especially (plus Brainy and J'onn).
Sure, they all (again, the women especially) often were sadly let down by superficial or just plain poor writing and overall creative direction a lot of the time, especially in the end -- but at the core, everyone could find something to relate to in at least one character, if not multiple characters, and that's great.
I know much like fans of Dana Scully in the 90s, a LOT of girls/women were inspired to get into STEM over this last decade now because of Katie McGrath's portrayal of Lena Luthor. And even more people related to Lena's trauma as a survivor of lifelong abuse at the hands of her family and especially her unhinged brother. Seeing that someone can slip into darkness as the result of years of sadistic mind games and abuse of all kinds but still come out the other side a hero, empowered, and a good person who helps others and is capable of loving and deserving of being loved? That's beautiful, and Lena offered that to SO many viewers, so it's no wonder she was a top fan favorite second only to the lead herself. And seeing how that impacted people, was so very moving.
Seeing people impacted by Alex's coming out arc in Season 2 was amazing. Having the first trans superhero on TV was amazing. And so on...
Look, there's a lot the show did wrong. In fact, possibly more was done poorly or wrong than well or good, overall, unfortunately. Alas, there were some little sparks of light to be truly appreciated.
But again, for me, I connected most to Kara's story, her strength, her dichotomy, and her indelible sense of HOPE... despite every reason at times to give up. And to the Kara/Lena love story, in all its infinite, incredible, and still mostly untapped potential.

I'm rewatching justice league and I can't stop thinking about how j'onn must have really felt a kinship in clark. The last son of mars met the last son of krypton and they were the only two people on earth who could possibly understand what the other went through.
But then j'onn sees superman's family grow and more kryptonians pop up. Supergirl, superboy, zod, jax-ur, etc. All these kryptonians appear and j'onn feels more and more isolated
I mean god him finding m'gann must have been the best day of his life
Fr,,,,he’s also so different from Clark in terms of connecting with humans, being too alien and thus making it difficult to fit in despite seeing earth as his adoptive home is a big part of his life,,,,poor him:((( glad m’gann showed up eventually

Can I confess something?
Four years ago I wrote a DC X dolphin tale cross over fic.
That's right dolphin tale, yknow the movie based on winter the dolphin with the prosthetic tale.
The whole premise was that tim and cassie (along with the rest of the bat family and wonder woman) were marine biologists who worked at a mermaid aquarium and rescue.
Bruce owns the aquarium, he bought it after his parents died, it use to be like an old marine show with two of its original residents joker and harly quinn. It was a really bad marine park (I took a lot of inspiration from real life orcas and dolphins in captivity) and jockey and harlequin became very aggressive and insane from years of abuse and cramped conditions. (So much so that joker ends up making jason and making him loose his passion for swimming and preforming.
From what I remember the mermaids were
Clark, hal, john, mgann, j'onn, guy and kyle, barry, wally, kon, bart and thaddeus. Atleast those were the main ones
I also vividly remember makeing aquamarine and the other Atlantians human vets because I thought the actual mer people being humans in my mermaid Au was funny.
Basically bruce adopted Dick after his parents passed in an accident in the circus and a few months later wally was brought from another aquarium after being rejected from his mother and was adopted by barry and hal.
Jason got the free willy experience bruce caught him breaking into the aquarium and took him in but when Jason was a teenager he was mauled by joker and stoped swimming with the mers he moved onto become the head of the rescue department.
Tim actually worked in Hawaii after going to school for marine biology. (He'd been going to the gotham aquarium for years and was inspired to take it but the drakes cut him off because of it so he didn't have the money to moveback) he got fired for being a whisle blower to the poor treatment the current Mets were being kept in. Well actually publicly he was let go because m'gann attacked him during a show when she got into a fight with kon.
Damian is still to young to work with the mers but he likes to help dick give tours and help Jason bottle feed seals.
Most of the mers were already residents but bart was actually Orphaned in the wild, because he was so young and still nursing from his mother he became malnourished before wandering too close to gotham harbor and getting tangled in fishing line. Tim and Cassie were new hires and helped nursing him back to health.
Kon and Kyle were both at Luther's marine park with m'gann. Kon is Clark's biological calf from a very experimental cloning experiment that Luther started so he could have a mer like Clark (Clark's mer breed is the biggest known breed but also super rare because they were hunted to near extinction decades erlier) M'gann was separated from her pod in another aquarium and was paired with kon as a tank mate. Kyle was kept in isolation for two years after being "rescued" and couldn't be released becouse he had damaged himself so thoroughly slaming his body into the walls of his iso tank..
Eventually the marine park was shut down when Luther was arrested for tax ivasoin. M'gann was brought back to her aquarium and pod but kon and Kyle sat for almost a year in the same conditions until it was decided they would be moved to gotham aquarium and then another six while Bruce got thing set up to take them in.
They both got there own storyline.
Fourteen year old me was something else I had so much world building for that fic guys... I think I even came up with mers being springy sedentary and picking a set territory in the ocean to live in. Speedsters were a separate breed of mers, the ice villans were separate, Kryptonians were a different breed, martains were a seprate breed that had separate conditions they needed and were also nearly hunted to extinction because humans wanted them for there unique shape-shifting abilities.

Grant Emerson's Lesser-Known Powers
The question from my quiz about Grant's lesser known powers is frequently missed, so I'd like to talk about what those are. While the explosions and inhanced strength and durability are his main and most recognizable skillset, he's got DNA from numerous members of the JSA and JLA, which gives him the potential to develop quite a variety of powers.
Here are the ones that got to turn up before later writers forgot about the possibilities set up in his solo.
Super Speed
This is one of the first powers of Grant's to manifest and the first one that we see in action, in his introductory scene. While trying out for the track team at his new school, he unexpectedly runs a mile in what the coach describes as "only a couple seconds off Olympic pace." Grant is surprised that he's suddenly "fast enough to try out to be the new Kid Flash." He's not a speedster, but he is able later on to keep up with speedsters like Impulse and Jesse Quick. This ability is probably due to his having DNA from three speedsters: Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Johnny Chambers.
(Damage #1, 13 / Titans 1999 #45)
Healing Factor
After dislocating an arm, Grant finds that he can heal it abnormally quickly. This power doesn't come up a lot, and I think writers have forgotten about it. Why, for instance, didn't it work when he was left with critical injuries that led to a disfigured face after the attack on his team? (Maybe since his powers do build and then fizzle out after being expended, he had already used up his charge by the time Zoom goes after him?)
(Damage #5)
Flight
While practicing on his own during his first time with the Titans, Grant accidentally finds out that he can use his energy blasts to propel himself through the air, although he has very poor control over it. Conversations with a version of his adult self from the future about his flight powers indicate that he will "be very bad at it for a very long time...if you live a long time." He continues to practice it and gets a bit better but still isn't confident about using it by the time he's with the Titans the second time. During the Sins of Youth arc, when he's aged up into an adult, he has perfect control of it. But he seldom uses this power during his short actual adulthood, which suggests that he still hasn't mastered it.

Latent Telepathy
It takes Grant a while to find out that he has this power. It first manifests through dreams of the danger that his love interest Mandra is currently in, which turns out to be part of a mind connection that he has with Splatter, the creature who has kidnapped her. He has some resistence to mind control that shows up during an encounter with a supervillain in Washington D.C., but his powers aren't strong enough to completely ward off such attacks. He will learn that his latent telepathy comes from Martian Manhunter's being his primary genetic donor, and J'onn is able to communicate with him telepathically. When under attack from a telepathic virus, he is able to put up a lot of resistence, and although he will succumb to the control for a while, he's ultimately able to fight it off. We never see him use this power again; it's another one that writers have forgotten.
(Damage #9, 11, 19, 20)
The direction that Damage seemed to be taking when it was abruptly canceled was that Grant would be continually discovering new powers, and there's still a lot of unexplored angles on that. He has Atlantean DNA from Aquaman--would that come into play? (Titans 1999 missed the chance to develop this when Grant was frequently working with Tempest.) Could he develop more Martian powers, like shapeshifting, invisibility, or telekinesis? Does he have any Green Lantern-like powers like the ones Alan Scott's children inherited? Is he able to come back to life like Wildcat? Or have a canary cry like the Black Canaries or infrared vision like Doctor Mid-Nite? Could he shrink like the other Atom?
So many possibilities, with a lot of potential for difficulty thanks to the "elastic" quality of his DNA.
Apparently in the current continuity he has lost his powers, but what might happen when they inevitably are restored? Might be an opportunity to explore the possibility of his acquiring additional powers. DC will never do it, but it would be quite a story if they did.
