I would like to reiterate in an original post that from Tristan’s point of view, Max rejected him professionally, reprimanded him in front of their boss, and then rejected him romantically, within about 1 hour. Then, instead of comforting him, Avery explained to him that she would only be with Tristan if Max was also there and then sexually manipulated him into attempting to get Max’s approval. So now he knows that if he doesn’t manage to succeed in getting Max, who just rejected them both and implied he was straight, back into bed with them, then he also loses Avery, and it will be his fault that they don’t work out.

Something to address early in fandom I think: are y'all going to be weird if the show ends and the resolution does actually end up being a poly-v with Avery at the center? Like I really hope (and think it's very possible!) that we are heading towards a closed triad but if it ends up with Max and Tristan being metamours or even qpp, I would still be deliriously happy having a main polyamorous ship on a network television show. Because the way some of y'all have been talking in the tags you guys don't seem to even consider it a valid relationship dynamic despite it being a real thing people do.

looking back on the fic I've written in the last few years and my own sexuality journey has made me realize that there is an argument that poly folk and ace/aro folk process love in a lot of the same ways, like the idea that you can have significant, life-defining relationships with different people and you get something important and sometimes even a similar flavor from each relationship but each one is still fundamentally different and significant in its own way and sometimes you don't want sex but you do want hugs and your partner may be having sex with their other partner but that does not make your relationship any less important because they come back to hug you and having more hearts bound up in your own is never a bad thing, because being loved no matter the form is never a bad thing, you are lovable and you can love so many people and having a heart overflowing with love for other people and things and the universe just means that you're healing and finding the people who fit you in whatever way that comes and there will always be someone cooking in the kitchen filling your heart and stomach no matter what and in this essay i will-

Concept for The Master for my au

It’s a pretty simple concept. Yk the typical “what if the doctor never accepted the deal with death and he swapped places with the master?”

So this would be a “good” guy Master - he’s still obviously flawed and he’s no righteous hero - he still holds a lot of the Master’s personality; he hates humans (more in the way where he’s sick and tired of saving Earth every other day so he finds them incompetent), he still hears the drums (but it doesn’t cause him to lose his mind, instead he always has the compulsion to do things to the beat of them), and he obviously prefers laser to sonic

He never meets Rose - instead, a disturbance in the time continuum brings him to the anomaly Jack Harkness, who is from a parallel world where Rose still gave him immortality and while The Master hates having human companions, he finds Jack a freak in the best way so he keeps him around to figure out how the hell he jumped worlds and how he has immortality

He also keeps around multiple companions at once, instead of acting like he can actually man the TARDIS himself (like that idiot Doctor) he knows how to properly take care of one, albeit he can be lazy to fix less necessary components (like the chameleon arch)

His companions in the first “series” are Jack Harkness, Hame (from the sisters of plentitude), and an unnamed Dalek (haven’t figured out a name for the little thing yet) that can feel, yet it hasn’t killed it. Basically a rag tag group of misfit freaks who can’t seem to belong anywhere else

Have I had this au for one day? Yes. How is it this fleshed out so fast? Autism.
