Regret immediately hits you as the sound rings through your ears, but you stay still. It’s been too long since you got a good night's sleep and you weren’t gonna let an overgrown chicken stop you from getting that. You’re not letting your guard down, and you’re not letting yourself forget about the monster he really is. ”What’s the matter darling?” he opens the door and you reluctantly crane your neck upwards to meet his eyes.

Shuffling over to further the distance between you, you sigh, ”I hope you know I’m only doing this for your bed, this has nothing to do with you.”

However, he expects something in return- he wants you affection and attention. He wants to know that he’s the most important thing in your life. Anyone else is only second to him- he is your priority. As much as he’ll give, he’ll take and want tenfold. It’s all that he knows how to do, to take and want, to keep and hoard to himself. The relationship is always imbalanced, it��s not an equal one, and even if there is an attempt to make it equal, it’s difficult to forget just how powerful he is.

It’s not uncommon to find gifts left for you. You're the only one he’ll ever waste money on. You can’t be dressed in rags when you’re in his presence, and he’s going to make sure that you’re dressed lavishly, that you can have all that you want. It should come to no surprise that he’ll hold it over your head. He gives you all you want, you can go along with an idea of his.

It is visible to anyone that the sin is extremely jealous. He does not care for anyone that even dares to come near you. He’s constantly touching you, there’s dating rumors, and he’s a lord. And someone still has the audacity to come near you in front of him? He won’t allow for that type of disrespect. He pulls you close to him and gets in the face of anyone who even dares to approach you. Afterwards, he makes sure that you’re situated right beside him. Along with his jealousy, he’s also protective. You’re his and he won’t let any sort of damage come onto his things. He’ll make sure that you’re well protected if you ever have to leave his vicinity. 

He likes when the two of you match to some extent. As the two of you spend more time together, you wear more of his colors- green, gold, white, and black. Even if it’s something as small as jewelry, he wants to make it clear you two are matching. He wears the jester outfit quite a bit, so the decorations on it are often presented in your jewelry. The matching can be subtle, it just matters to him that two of you match. He likes seeing you wear his signature colors. It gives him a reminder that the two of you are together. He isn’t a fan of spending money, but he can’t hide the giddiness when the two of you shop. You’re trying on outfits he’s chosen, the two of you can spend time together, and it’s quite fun to just have more things added to his collection.

If the relationship is public, he has no shame in keeping you near him. Even during the rumors, he was constantly keeping you beside him and that won’t change. Why Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss have a Misandry Issue Part 1

A part of me questions myself if I have to make this post, but then I decided in my free time I finally let go of my doubts and have finally decided to make this post, bec deep inside I wanted to be honest with both of these shows how it depicts men including men who are part of the LGBTQ spectrum, the post will be me going in depth of the creator's shows, that includes the analysis and criticisms of Vivziepop's work.

If you are uncomfortable with this topic that I'm going to discuss, you can choose not to continue reading this post however if you are willing to continue regardless of the contents and sensitive topics that I'm going to discuss, please proceed with caution.

So first let's talk about Misandry, since this term isn't as well known as Misogyny, Misandry's definition is the dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e. the male sex). However Misandry is a term I didn't recognize being used until this year when I found on Reddit that there are few posts and comments talking about it compared to Misogyny, and it surprised me why isn't this term isn't as talked about but then in my experience on Twitter and Reddit that there are certain subreddits and other comments denying that "Misandry doesn't exist."

To which I disagree while yes I'm a woman, I do see and experience Misogyny in online spaces including in real world and other women face thru issues like sexism, physical and emotional abuse from other men, r@pe, sexual harassment and etc., that still doesn't excuse being biased and ignore what men faced thru in real life, there are stories I've seen from other men who were drugged and also being physically abused by their ex girlfriend or other women, r@ped and sexually abused by the older woman or in this case an older man, I've seen a video before of a guy singing on stage only to get groped on his dick by a woman and she laughed at him and at the end he was shocked and left the stage from embarrassment, falsely being accused of sexual assault, toxic yaoi fangirls sexually harassing gay or straight men of who's the top and bottom, little boys being molested or raped by older people, families and that includes male and female teachers, telling Men to stop crying bec Boys can't cry, there is also a Twitter post from a woman wishing Male Suicide rates go up, there are few Twitter posts from Women wishing to abort male babies from existing, ignoring Male SA Victims and laugh at their experience bec they got "lucky" and wish they got into their place, Media that makes jokes about Male SA and etc., seeing these stories from men who experience that really made me feel sorry for them and I don't think they deserved that. Plus, this isn't me discrediting female victims I do also support them including male victims, in regards to r@pe just bec it happens to women it can also happen to men including people on the LGBTQ community and nobody deserved to be r@ped, I'm not an SA Survivor, but I'm so glad I didn't experienced it bec of how traumatizing and horrifying r@pe is, and also a comment earlier I've seen on Reddit is that Women and children r@ped and died from the hands of men, yes I'm not denying it definitely exists but doesn't mean we can ignore that it can happen to men including little boys in the hands of their abusers and murderers. Also my brother was physically abused by my father and my sister had to witnessed the abuse on front of her, my Mom and Dad were always fighting personal problems and I was also physically abused by my father before my parents separated and it took me years for my father to changed as a person before he died in Sept 5, 2016 due to Stroke. Plus this year is his death anniversary, I understand if there are children who can't forgive their abusive parent but for me my father proved to me that he can change as a person and I have already have forgiven him before he died.

The main reason why I want to discuss Misandry bec it relates to Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss while I can see many posts discussing how poorly the main female characters are handled by Vivziepop and I completely understand why the critical community have issues with that, the issues that happened with the male characters in regards to Misandry have few posts which is why I want to tackle it.

The next topic I want to tackle is the MLM or Gay Representation in the show Helluva Boss bec this also the main reason why I made this post.

Vivziepop and her crew loved to boast and pride about their Queer Representation but as someone who watched the show, as a bisexual woman myself, the Queer Representation is just as shallow and a mixed bag to be honest, the reason for that is Viv's depiction of gay men is not only misandrist but also sexist on how they were depicted. But before we deep dive to the male gay characters on how they were depicted I wanted to focus on the term that is mostly being used on fictional gay relationships that is Yaoi. Yaoi is a Japanese term for manga that features sexual romance between men, specifically as created by and for women. In the West, yaoi is used more generally to refer to any anime, manga, fan fiction, that focuses on romance between men. Although to be fair, Yaoi from what I've seen can also be consumed by gay men, the main reason I brought up Yaoi is that because Viv's shows are being accused of stereotypes about gay men such as fetishization of r@pe, power imbalance, sexual harassment and etc. That's because Yaoi is a very controversial subject in the community where there are gay people who are split about the depictions of gay men in Yaoi and BL's, there are gay men who dislike the fetishization and that it only appeals to women but there are others who defend it as just fiction.

For me personally I don't think there's an issue with consuming Yaoi or BL's and I'm not saying women can't enjoy it, but as someone who is desensitized to the stereotypes that BL I consumed in my earlier teen years I can't just ignore the real issue, bec back then I used to be a proshipper, I used to defend artists who were being sent death threats and harassments from antis and I used to defend problematic fiction and ships and I always go thru arguments with people who don't like it, I was offensive and also not mentally well in the past but as of this year I no longer support Proshipping since I do not stand by that including my not so great behavior from the past, but that doesn't mean I will not stoop down to the same level of antis that will harass or threaten proshippers and I don't accept that. However just bec it's fiction argument, it still needs to be criticized for valid reasons, and also just bec Yaoi have stereotypes does this mean the entire genre is like this? No, there are other stories who don't fall into the same problematic stereotypes, but still sadly, Yaoi and BL is still controversial for continuing it's stereotypical depiction of gay men and it's also mostly present in Webtoons and Manhwas.

When I revisited GoatJesus' video about Examining the Yaoi ★ BL Genre where he as a gay man analyzes but also criticize Yaoi's depiction of men but also praises other shows for straying away from stereotypes and there are certain parts of the video that stood out to me that I will put here where GoatJesus talks about the main points about Yaoi. To which I edited 2 clips into 1 video.

Regarding the women who write BL or Yaoi's, I'm not against women who write that specific genre, nor I'm mysogynistic that women have no freedom to write stories, and I do believe that not many female authors fall into writing stereotypes about gay men, however this does not mean that I can't just ignore that other women and other most popular female writers who still write harmful views onto gay men and this comment under GoatJesus video sums up my main issues from that online article that was being discussed.

The reason it's related to Vivziepop, bec Viv herself a female writer still falls into writing stereotypes about gay men and I will finally discuss on the subject of Helluva Boss first before Hazbin Hotel. The first characters we will going to tackle is Blitz, the main character and founder of IMP, and he himself is also confirmed to be Pansexual.

I'll be completely honest, Blitz is an interesting character, he himself have relationship problems of his insecurities getting in his way and mostly the mistakes that he made to people whom he used to be closed with, and he usually acts as confident and arrogant and badass on the outside but deep inside he had issues, but the way the show tackles jokes that Blitz made is really uncomfortable most especially in Season 1 where he made rape threats to Moxxie and his wife Millie.

That next episodes includes making demeaning jokes to Moxxie and let's not forget sexual harassment and invading space of the Imp couple.

The biggest problem is that Blitz up until Apology Tour had never tried to apologize for making Moxxie uncomfortable and invading him and his wife's personal space, while yes it is true that Blitz himself craves for a healthy relationship that he sees in them that doesn't excuse his past actions. This is not only the issue I see in Blitz's character this is also how other characters also treat him like dirt. Let's start with Loona, Blitz was a caring but also overprotective of Loona bec he himself first discovered Loona at the adoption center for Hellhounds where he saw Loona fending herself against a male hellhound who tried to hurt her and she herself was alone and crying about how depressing her situation was, which thankfully Blitz with good intentions did finally adopted her and became her dad, throughout S1 Loona herself was like any other emo goth girl but for Blitz regardless of Loona's personality still loved her, this however changed in Spring Broken where Loona developed a crush on Vortex and that's where Blitz developed his overprotective tendencies to which when they got in the human world where Loona tried to start a conversation with Vortex until Blitz interrupted them bec he wanted to focus on the main goal of getting back their parking space from Verosika and that's where they both started arguing bec Loona thinks Blitz can't leave her alone and she told him he's not her real dad and she herself views as an adult, Blitz cannot control his overprotective tendencies and Loona tells Blitz she doesn't need him. Loona later tries to apologize but Blitz cuts her off and tells her to enjoy her break while he continues finishing his job, although after Millie defeats the fish monster they both came back in the human world, in Truth Seeker, Loona and Millie where willing to rescue the boys who were left in the human world and being abducted by the Dhorks and Loona was willing to help her team defeat the members of the Dhorks and Loona was given a kiss in the cheek by Blitz and he was proud of her for helping IMP to which she was embarrassed but still continues fighting. The episode that stood out to me is Queen Bee which is the last segment where Loona takes care of the drunk Blitz and was willing to let him rest after Blitz tells her his insecurities of his fear of dying but Loona reassures him she will be there for him.

You know maybe Loona wasn't that bad to Blitz right? Right? Wrong, in the past I used to liked Seeing Stars bec of Loona and Octavia's relationship develop like sisters, yet this however doesn't excuse the problem on how Loona treats Blitz as she's suddenly violent and being abusive to Blitz for no reason like Blitz regardless of me not excusing how he treated Moxxie, but I don't recall him sexually harassing Loona nor talking about her body, all I remember is him trying to be a good dad to Loona yet somehow he's in the wrong for wanting Loona to be better and yet at the end get kicked in the nuts for no reason despite Blitz wanting to apologize to her because?

"HAHAHA! IT'S GIRLBOSS, AND FEMINIST TO KICK MEN IN THE NUTS FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN COMEDY! PLEASE LAUGH!!!"

That's not funny, that's insulting and it definitely regressed the development of Loona and Blitz father and daughter relationship in the first season. Loona however just like Blitz had never apologized for treating people in the wrong and the show somehow forgot about it and it just went back to normal. So anyways let's talk about Stolas, Stolas is by far one of the most controversial characters in the show bec there are people being split about his character, there are fans who loved him but there are haters who truly hated him, bec there are reasons the critical space is not fond or welcome of him, that's bec he has the power in the relationship bec he and Blitz were in a transactional relationship where Blitz is required to have sex with Stolas so that he can still borrow the Grimoire book to the human world for his business of killing people. The Reason there is a Power Imbalance comes from the fact that Blitz an Imp that is a lower class demon and Stolas is from the Goetia a higher class demon above imps and not only Goetias are also racists and looked down upon Imps with the exception of Octavia. This is the common trope that you may see in problematic relationships that also includes transactional relationships in Yaoi and BL's where the Seme has the power and masculinity in the relationship while the Uke is lower and have no agency of his free will and this is the equivalent of a heternomative stereotypes that is placed upon 2 men, while there are people who analyzed Yaoi said that it have Misogynistic tropes bec of hetenormative roles places upon men, I'd say in my opinion it's more Misandrist bec it doesn't view men in an actual gay relationship but in a lens of a straight person on how they view gay men. This is however in Helluva Boss the roles are reversed since Blitz is the top while Stolas is the power bottom, but let's be real if Stolas a Rich Goetia is the Top and have power in the relationship while Blitz is the bottom in lower class it would be much more controversial and people would see it more as sexual coercion. But bec the roles are reversed and why there are fans of the ship don't view it as toxic bec Stolas a gay bottom man was babyfied by the narrative that can't do wrong in the relationship and that Stolitz is just a misunderstanding of bad communication in a relationship when if anyone with critical lens would look deeper and see the relationship as problematic and there is a power imbalance in their relationship yet I found out that one of the fans of HB said that Stolitz is meant to be endgame by Viv, and I was like did Viv see nothing wrong in their relationship? The relationship was built from transaction, including Stolas sexually harassing Blitz in front of his daughter, was the result of cheating from his wife Stella as to why she was rightfully upset at her husband and it was retconned in Season 2 to make her a cartoonish villain with no depth compared to Stolas, and they were supposed to be canon at end? No thank you, Ma'am, Blitz deserved a better partner than Stolas or hell he could've fixed his relationship with Verosika since I found their relationship more interesting than Stolitz, yet Blitz was the one who should apologize to Stolas instead of Stolas taking accountability and not apologizing for looking down on him, sexually harassing him and having the power in the relationship. It's just frustrating to watch that not only diminishes the YT views of S2 compared to S1 but the relationship overtakes the premise of the show about assassination. Doesn't help the fact the show has the will they don't they kind of relationship where the show finds Stolitz to be romantic but also not romantic at the same just like how Viv and her writing staff view them.

Now let's talk about Chaz, he's the character I truly hate on my first viewing of him last year when the episode was released, he's the embodiment of everything wrong with Helluva Boss with it's overused of sex jokes relating to male genitalia or dick jokes and sexual harassment, the guy was just only part of Crimson's Mafia and being both Moxxie and Millie's ex boyfriend. His only character was just being annoying, talks about how sexy he was, his dick, sexually harassing Moxxie and annoying Millie and we don't exactly know why they break up, and his music theme is annoying to listen to. It's even worse that he's Pansexual and just like the main male characters in the show where they nonstop talk about their genitalia like Blitz, I'm serious what's the purpose of his character anyway? He almost serves no purpose to the narrative unless it was just him marrying Moxxie so he can get into Crimson's wealth. I'll be completely honest I'm glad he died, I felt so frustrated to watch him, and unfortunately he had a cult fanbase dedicated to him and there are others like me who don't like him either. I feel like I'm questioning Viv's view on gay men is disturbing to be honest.

Lastly, I wanna talk about Moxxie, my dear poor bisexual Moxxie, he was the character who was the the victim of sexual harassment, the butt of jokes, being humiliated for being in a healthy relationship with Millie that is being set in Hell. I do feel bad for how he was treated by the narrative that involves around SA, the show constantly makes jokes about Moxxie being SA by Verosika and her crew including Chaz and Blitz,

Doesn't help the fact in which he was forced to marry Chaz when he's also forced to wear a Wedding Dress against his will and was being tied up and turned to a damsel in distress for Millie to saved him, I'll be completely honest, I have no issues with Moxxie being Bisexual, the issue comes from the fact that the female and male characters humiliate and SA him and was being forced to a feminine role against his will, it's one thing if a gay man wants to express freely his sexuality and I have no issue with that, men can express being gay and not be shamed for it. The issue was that Moxxie was being forced against his will and it was irritating to see him like that, the last time the show never humiliates him is when he licks Blitz Asmodeus crystal to help him to activate and go back to the human realm bec Blitz conveniently can't activate it himself. However this does not excuse how the past episodes treat him.

Life isn't about having everything. It's about finding the things you love and matter most to you and focusing on them. The things that matter most to me will absolutely be different from everyone else (we may share some of the same) but no two people are exactly the same when it comes to interests, and thats beautiful. Dig deep into the things you love crew, and remember you don't have to feel any shame for the things that mean the most to you. Do you like video games? Or Ornithology? How about fanfiction? Summary: Fizz is upset about his friendship situation with Blitzø, Ozzie decides to cheer him up

Fizz looked down at his metallic hands and sighed a little. His right arm a slightly lighter shade than his left, having been just recently replaced after the kidnapping incident.

He had spent fifteen years angry at his best friend, not talking to him, and the thing that brought them back together was a hostage situation. He knew logically what happened to him was a genuine accident, but getting over fifteen years of anger and sadness was easier said than done. And that bothered him.

"Deep in thought, are we?"

Fizz turned to look up at Ozzie, changed into his robe for the evening. "Hey, there's my Big C-" "You're making a rooster pun to avoid talking about it, Fizzy." Darn, he knew him well. Ozzie sat on the large bed next to his tiny partner. "If you want to talk, Fizz, I'm here to listen." He said with the most love and compassion Fizz had ever heard from anyone in Hell. And the fact that it was directed at him made Fizz want to open up.

"Blitzø and I made up during that hostage situation.. I wouldn't have escaped if not for him, and I realized the whole.. blowing up incident.. it was a genuine accident on his end," He looked up at Oz, who was listening, nodding every once in a while, "I also learned he tried to visit me multiple times, but the staff at the circus told him I didn't want to see him, and they never told me he came to see me.. They lied to us, Ozzie, to keep us from talking." He felt tears start to sting his eyes, both from anger at the situation, and sadness that he had lost fifteen years with someone he had considered his best friend.

Upon seeing the tears, Asmodeus was quick to scoop up his little clown partner and hold him in one arm, using the other to wipe his tears away. "Fizzy, dear, it's going to be alright. I can't tell you that the pain will just go away, but remember we don't die of old age, you have an eternity to rebuild this relationship with him, if that's what you want." Fizz looked up at him and nodded. Ozzie continued, "I also can't say I know how you feel, but I can imagine it's probably very frustrating, upsetting, and difficult to fully process right now. Right?" Fizz nodded again.

Oz sighed, "My poor little froggy, I hate seeing you so hurt," He gently pressed their foreheads together. With Fizz having robotic limbs, this was how they cuddled or showed affection, as his head was the most sensitive part of him now. He continued, "Everything will work out, alright? It will take time and effort, and I'll support you every step of the way, but it will work out."

Fizz managed a smile and nuzzled his forehead again, his tail flicking a little. Ozzie smiled right back and held him closer. "Hey, there's my happy little Jester, where'd ya go?" He joked, causing Fizz to giggle. It was quiet and soft, since he had just been crying. It was a start, but not enough for Ozzie.

He started to pepper kisses over Fizz's forehead and face, while a gentle hand skittered up his side. "Smile, Fizzy~" Fizzaroli arched his back and leaned away out of instinct, rough giggles bubbling from his chest. "Ohohozziihihie!" He giggled, turning his head to hide his face in his lover's fluff. Oz simply followed him, tickling side to side over his tummy, how he knew Fizz liked it, even if he'd never admit it. He paid attention to his little gremlin.

Fizz arched and squirmed and curled up, but never truly made an effort to get away or ask him to stop. He'd let out half hearted 'nooo's and 'please' but never did he communicate that he wanted it to stop yet. "Ohohozzie, nohoho!" He squealed as Ozzie pinched at his lower sides, just above his hips, which made him curl up, and giggle much harder, gently swatting at his hands.

Ozzie brought Fizz up higher and nuzzled into his tummy, something he knew drove Fizz up the wall. Fizz immediately started to push against the rooster's head, kicking his legs out (careful not to actually hit Oz), while he giggled so hard, his sides would ache later. His tail went wild, waving from side to side. "Ohohoz, nohohoho, ihit tihihihickles!" Oz chuckled into Fizz' tummy, which only made it worse. "It tickles? Well that is kind of the point, Fizzy." Fizz shook his head, causing the bells on his hat to jingle. "Ihihit tihickles bahahad!" "And yet you haven't told me to-" "Stohop!"

Instantly, Ozzie stopped, and held Fizz close. He gave him enough time and space to breathe, and once he knew he was fine, Oz pressed their heads together again. "Feeling better?" He asked. Fizz let out another giggle, "Yeah.. I am." he said, stretching his arms around the bigger demon.

"Good, that's all that matters to me right now." Ozzie replied, laying down with Fizz on his chest. The former clown was quick to fall asleep, tired and feeling loved, and Oz was close behind.

One of the few solid critiques I’ve seen of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel is that the shows pick and choose which moral failings to depict as bad or as just funny.

Essay-length rant under the cut, also Hellaverse-typical TWs for abuse, SA, and general lack of morals

Disclaimers:

I’m not hating on these shows. I love both of these shows, but I’m an English major so I think it’s important for me to be able to analyze what exactly I think is not working. I’m interested in a discussion, but if all you’re here to do is spew hate with no good-faith criticisms, I will block you.

These shows do not need to teach morals. These pieces of media are both intended for adult audiences, and adults should be able to understand that a depiction does not equal support. My criticism is that this moral inconsistency is sometimes to the overall tone’s detriment.

These two shows are both set in hell. Following the usual rules of hell, you wind up there regardless of what you did, so all sins should be considered equal in that regard. Of course, we as people tend to think of some sins as less forgivable than others—namely abuse, SA, and murder. I’m making broad generalizations here, but please roll with me.

The biggest problem with Hellaverse writing is that the writers aren’t consistent on what is considered morally bad in the show. These shows both center around complex, deeply flawed people, and I find that really enjoyable from a storytelling perspective because I love nuanced, flawed characters.

There are a few notable instances where this moral ambiguity works in the storytelling’s favor. Stella screaming and throwing things at Stolas (Loo Loo Land) is something the audience is primed to see as a joke, but it is used to set up the later reveal that she is in fact highly abusive (The Circus) and attempted to have him killed (Harvest Moon, Western Energy). Stolas being casually condescending to Moxxie and Millie (Loo Loo Land) and his imp servants (Seeing Stars, Full Moon) is not heavily remarked upon, but it is later used to set up his classism being a point of contention between him and Blitzø.

However, the protagonists often exhibit similar behaviors to the villains and this isn’t treated as morally wrong, or sometimes an incident is treated as minor. This problem is most glaring in cases of sexual harassment or SA. Blitzø’s repeated stalking of Moxxie and Millie, including watching them have sex without their knowledge or consent, is treated as a joke. Moxxie being kissed by the incubi and succubi (Spring Broken) is treated as a joke. Likewise Sir Pentious being dragged into the sex room in Welcome to Heaven is also treated as a joke, in spite of the episode’s b-plot being Angel Dust confronting Valentino, who is primarily shown to be bad through his sexual abuse of Angel Dust. Angel Dust harasses Husk at the bar from episodes 1-4, and while this is connected to Angel’s porn star persona and I do seem to recall it stopping after “Loser, Baby”, it’s still not treated as a problem, just as Angel Dust being Angel Dust. Other incidents of note are the running so-called joke of Loona fat-shaming Moxxie not being a problem, whereas when Mammon fat-shames Fizzarolli it is used to signify Mammon as a bad person.

I would also like to highlight the nature of Blitzø’s and Stolas’ full moon deal. In my opinion it is a running problem of dubious consent and poor kink negotiation. Let’s cover this in chronological order for sake of ease. In The Circus, Stolas starts out describing a sexual fantasy of Blitzø, his former childhood friend and first love, sneaking into his house to “ravish” Stolas. However, when Blitzø reciprocates and feeds into the fantasy, Stolas becomes hesitant. I believe this is intended to read as him being flustered, but he is extremely hesitant until Blitzø bites him. Stolas later forges the Full Moon deal with Blitzø while Blitzø is, to keep things to the point, under duress (Murder Family). Neither of these circumstances show both parties giving full consent. Hence, dub-con. Furthermore, as per The Circus and “we don’t do words, we do sex” (Apology Tour), Stolas and Blitzø have a strong precedent for poorly negotiated BDSM and lack of proper kink safety. However, the show’s inconsistency with how it handles sexual harassment and power imbalances weakens the impact of the Full Moon deal’s transactional nature on the relationship.

I greatly enjoy Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, as I enjoy flawed and complex characters. I do not expect the show to address every issue raised here with the care that should be used in real life, as this is a fictional story set in hell. However, the writers’ inconsistency, particularly when it comes to depicting power imbalances and sexual harassment/SA, leads to a muddled tone which confuses the audience to a point where it is not beneficial to telling the story.

Tweaked typos, fixed Bugs Bunny Ref, and curses to be erased for accurate viewpoints as of 8/18/2024 --- Oh god, please don't get me started on how passive and surface level Blitz' """representation""" of drag/[genderswapping akin to what it feels like] alongside Moxxie are just used for eye candy/gags and NOT actual reasoning for the characters to genuinely try to show some gender expressionism! What do I mean by this? Due to Brandon Rodgers' ever present role in the show and projecting his past drag type stereotypes onto Blitz just like previous characters, without any thought and keeping it at a basis of a joke. Hence, the eye candy passive 'progressive' lack of genuine queerness is really hard to take seriously when both seasons of Helluva are like this.

Alongside Moxxie, the both of them are used as gags and jokes around/about the two cis[?] demon men reduced to visual jokes and walking punchlines rather then actually letting the characters be characters. Moxxie does not contain good or better drag considering most instances are for the plot rather then the character wanting to be drag or explore outside of their assigned genders. Before you try to bring up:

"Oh but Moxxie dressed up four different times surely that mea-"

He was the butt of the joke in all instances. Even the first time they performed drag was for a joke of a 'human disguise' that was quickly dropped post Unhappy Campers, examples being--

I really feel you & anon about KenDraws - when the first allegations about poor workplace treatment came out I thought maybe it was a case of poor management over malicious mismanagement; that a new indie studio had hired a lot of people out of college and not supported them properly or set unrealistic deadlines and failed to account for the fact that people have to work multiple jobs to support themselves (though the sharing of Erin's medical info always disgusted me and there's no way anyone can 'two sides' that imo) - i.e. it was stuff they could learn from and get better about, but for me KenDraws' account was the straw that broke the camel's back.

My jaw was on the floor learning KenDraws was the one who suggested Alastor stay at the hotel for his own entertainment, because that's part of the inciting incident and setup of the whole show. It's the kind of idea and dynamic that you'd expect the creator to come up with and come up with first, and be thought out as part of the story going forwards.

And to credit such an integral part of the show, plus several jokes, as 'additional writing'??? That is not additional writing, that is concept writing and script writing. It really made me mad to see how much of a struggle it was to get even that bare minimum of credit when Viv dropped so many ideas and lines that weren't her idea into the final pilot and covered it up with 'that was early draft stuff/we changed things around'. Reading the Discord logs it's blatantly not that, and if I can get ad hominem for a second there's a really maddening 'I'm too lazy and untalented to come up with this on my own, please help me' wheedling tone in Viv's messages to Ken - the whole 'I'm good at this and not that' thing especially. If you aren't good at it then either focus the pilot around your supposed strengths or credit your co-writers properly! Anyone whose had someone lazy or untalented sponge off them knows how uncomfortable and annoying it is to be stuck with someone like Viv as a boss. It feels like the main reason Brandon gets to be credited as a writer is because he's already a 'name' but anyone Viv considers beneath her it's free game to steal their ideas and fail to credit them when they provide her massive amounts of help because she knows her fandom will merrily throw them under the bus with a minimum amount of prompting from her, and sometimes none at all.

It's why I'm so glad to see Ashley and Michael thrive outside her shadow. I've seen mixed opinions on Faustisse and I'm not up to date with that, but I did see the screenshots about the issues she had getting paid and assuming that's Viv she's talking about, no one deserves to be exploited like that.

Viv mistreats the talent, they go elsewhere - and they don't stop being better than Viv at the thing she's failing so hard at rn. I'm so glad to see the rest of the indie animation scene supporting each other so much: I think this is the sense of community people wished for when Helluva started and why the biggest scandal to hit the fandom felt like it was when the pilot VAs got dropped so unceremoniously. It's just partly a community of people who got burned working for Viv who now have a perfect mental model of what they don't want in their working lives so they can make something better. I hope all the best for the people she's hurt & used

Stolas gave Blitz the crystal, little fight, little make up...long story short, they're okey. Although, there's smth they have to solve yet...Stolas is called for a trial by the Goetias, and it leads to secrets they didn't know about each other...

-Oh, shit- Stolas thought - THE TRIAL. Blitzy, dear, wake up .We’re going late!

-Wha...Oh, fuck! Shitshitshitshit- Blitz screamed.

That day, the Goetias had called Stolas to a trial without specificating what it was about. They imagined that it was about their realtionship. The night before, Stolas and Blitz had a deep conversation about it, and decided that they would accept the decision that made less harm to their families, especially Stolas and Via.

Of course, Blitz stayed at the palace... and it looks like someone has overslept.

-Where are my pants?

-And my hat?

They prepared themselves as fast as they could. The trial was at 9.00 am, and it was already 8:50.

Inside of the carriage, they held hands.

Maybe they don’t think anything bad, maybe they just want to...talk about it? Stolas thought.

Blitz could perceive that Stolas was nervous.

-Hey, Stols- he whispered. He took the bird’s face in his hands and looked at him in the eyes.- Everything will be ok, do you hear me? No matter what those fucks decide, you the girls and I will stick together. We will be...- he was going to say “a family”, but he wasn't ready for that yet, not in that moment.- fine.- he said instead.

-I...- Stolas blushed and his eyes filled with tears- Thanks for coming with me  ,Blitz. I could have never done this in my own.

They kissed gently. There was no lust in it, just love and support.

The door was half open, so they could hear Vassago, one of the Goetias, saying:

-And where is Stolas anyway?

-Here -Stolas replied -sorry for the delay.

Everyone in the room remained in silence while Stolas and Blitz took their seats.

-So, where were we?-.Vassago continued.

At first, they explained the reasons why Stolas was being judged. Both Stolas and Blitz were surprised when a Goetia said:

-The reason of judgment is that the Prince lent his personal Grimoire to a hellborn of lower class for him to travel to the mortal realm, and that’s against the law-

Stolas didn’t know that they knew about his...loans of his book.

“Andrealphus must have been spying on me” he thought.

-Wait, so you aren’t mad at us for having a relationship? -Blitz asked for the both of them.

-Not really. I mean, we’re not very in favour of it, but we don’t consider it’s a fair reason of judgement when Stolas is legally divorced and has already produced a precautionary heir.- Vassago explained.

-So, it is the moment- He announced- After a long debate, our final decision is that this situation is being dangerous for the habitants in Hell. It has come to our ears that a group of human demonhunters is aware of your little works on Earth, and we have decided that, as punishment for putting in danger the safety of Hell, you will stop being part of royalty. Your powers and your possessions will be taken from you and you'll pass to be a hellborn of the lowest class.

Stolas couldn't even speak.

-All that only for... trying to help someone?- He said.

-Well, I don’t fucking agree- Blitz shouted.- Do y'all think you can take his-

-Blitz, dearest, I can handle it- Stolas whispered.

-No, no way I'm going to let you accept.- he answered.- He hasn’t done anything wrong.- He screamed to the court.- I was the one that tried to stole his book in the first place, so don’t punish him.-

Immediately he regretted his words.

-Blitz... what do you mean you tried to stole my book?- Stolas asked with a tremulous voice.

- I...- Blitz gasped.

Fuck...why do I always have to mess things up?

-Do you need a moment? - Vassago asked.

- Yes, please.-

Stolas went quickly out of the room to the corridor. When Blitz arrived, he was with his back towards the door.

-Stols, I...- Blitz sighed- the day I sneaked into your house, I wasn’t there to see you. I was there because I knew your book had access to the human realm, and I needed it for the business.I’m really, really sorry Stols.

-All this time thinking you thought of me...that you remembered me...- Stolas sobbed.

Blitz reached his hand and turned him to him.

He was bursting into tears. Blitz took both of his hands and made him kneel so they were the same heigh.

-Stolas, I’m truly sorry. I didn’t want to tell you because I knew this would happen...but ey, I assure you, all the time I didn’t think about you then, I think it now- a smile appeared in Stolas face.- Yeah, fuck...I can’t stop thinking about you, you pretty bird. How you treat me, your drama queen attitude, how you fight for things when they aren’t fair. The love you have for your daughter, your books, your plants...you’re living fucking rent-free in my head, Stols.

Stolas couldn’t do anything but look at Blitz with amusement. He had never opened to him that way.

-Thanks...for being here Blitz. Not only now in the court, but in my life.I owe so much...-

They kissed gently, and after a few seconds, Blitz said:

-Well, about the trial, I’m obviously not letting you give away everything you own, especially your powers.-

-But dear, you don’t understand what this people are capable of. At least, they won’t punish me so bad because I’m part of the royalty, but with you...they could end you, Blitz.-

-Well then...we’ll ask them what would happen if they punish me instead of you. We’ll decide later, ok babe?-

-Mhhh... Sure - Stolas flushed because of the pet name. He wasn’t used to it yet. - Although, if your punish is the death penalty, I’ll take it, and I won’t hear a no for an answer.- he said very seriously.

They entered the room again.

-So, what have you decided?- Vassago asked.

- We’ve thought of something...what would happen if you punish me?- Blitz said.

- In that case, you...- one of the Goetias whispered something to his ear.- You would be executed, to give example to any other rebel imps, you know?-

So it was true what Stolas said...these fuckers have no mercy.

-So, it’s the death penalty for you or Stolas stopping being a prince. Your choice.-

They looked at each other’s eyes. Blitz’s said “You don’t have to”, while Stolas four eyes replied “Oh honey, I would go to double hell and back for you”.

-I’ll take the punishment- Stolas announced.

-Are you sure?-

- Completely. Although, there is one thing that has been bothering me..., will this affect my daughter? - he asked to Vassago.

The parrot looked to the other Goetias and discussed the matter for a few minutes.

-She'll live with her mother permanently. She won't be punished but you won't be able to live with them.-

-Oh, and...as I suppose my possessions won’t go to her...who’ll keep them?-

-They’ll stay in a save room in the Central Hell Bank.-

-NO!- someone shouted at the other side of the room.

It was Andrealphus, the brother of Stolas' ex-wife, and Stolas knew that he would do everything and more to get as much of his money as he could.

-I don´t believe that is correct.-

-Andrealphus, you took your part of Stolas' fortune when he divorced from his wife. Why would you think this is incorrect?-

-Well, my sister, even though they aren't married anymore, is still connected to him. It wouldn´t be fair to her that, after years of marriage, she doesn´t receive anything from him.-

- Vassago, I don´t want this. I don´t want that woman to take anything from my fortune- Stolas said to the court.

Vassago looked sideways to the other members of the court and, deciding that they were all thinking the same, announced:

- The deal will remain as it was, Andrealphus.-

Other member of the Goetias said:

-So, this is it. -

He began to read a document:

"Stolas of the Ars Goetia, will no longer be consider part of the royalty, and will begin to be a hellborn of the lowest class. He´s powers will be kept and given to the next Goetia to be born, while his material possessions will be kept under high protection.”

-Is that all right?-

-I believe so. - Stolas said. He stood up, took Blitz's hand and said:

- Well, if our presence here isn´t more required, and think we will leave.-

Vassago nodded, and Blitz and Stolas left the room.

They remained all the way back to Blitz's house in silence, holding hands. When they arrived, Blitz saw a note from Loona saying:"Vortex invited me to a party. DON'T CALL ME."

Suddenly he heard a noise coming from the living room.

- Stolas, are you...?- he stopped when he saw Stolas sat in the floor with is back on the wall, his head between his knees and shaking.

He hugged him and whispered:

-You shouldn't have done it. Not for me.-

-Blitz- He raised his head and looked at Stolas in the eyes. His face was full of tears and slightly read."Has he always been this beautiful?...Fuck” Blitz thought. -  It hurts. It hurts now, and maybe tomorrow, and possibly in one week. But, eventually, I will heal. And the most important thing, I will have you by my side to help me. You will help me fill the empty space that I have inside me now that my powers are gone. Blitz, I would give my life for you to be happy.- he said with a soft voice.

-No. Look, babe, I allow that you give your powers for me...probably I will never forgive myself for it, but I allow it. But talking about giving your life just like nothing...I won't. I won´t let that happen. So, I want you to promise me that, don't matter what happens, you won't let yourself be ...killed for me, promise?-

-I...promise- But in the back of his head, Stolas thought "I´m a liar".

After a few minutes of them hugging in silence, Stolas said:

-And now what? I’m no longer part of the royalty. I don´t have a house, I don´t have money. I don’t know what to do Blitz. I’m so scared...

-Hey, hey, hey, don’t panic. Of course I won’t let you sleep in the streets. You will live here. I know it isn’t the most comfy place, but I’m sure that we can buy a bed. And for the money, I’m sure you will find a job so easy. Or if not, you can start working with me and M&M in IMP! Maybe you don’t want to become a killer, but you can help with the-

Stolas shot him up with a lip-crusher kiss. They melted at each other’s contact, feeling that there had been ages since they had been like that. Soon, both of them started feeling hot.

-Well, there isn’t a bed, but... there is a sofa and a floor. Which one do you prefer? - Blitz asked mischievously.

Stolas didn’t even answer. He just smiled and scooped Blitz in his arms. Blitz shoved his face in Stolas fluffy chest. Stolas laid in the sofa, still hugging Blitz, and he started to stroke Blitz’s horns. He rose up his head to look at Stolas. He was with his eyes closed, starting to feel sleepy.

-Maybe we don’t need a bed to sleep. – Stolas whispered.- Just each other.
