i think sauce would have a rayquaza that showed up in his early life as a child like fairy oddparents showing up to miserable children. & he did all the research he could on how to treat it right and feed it and love it and care for it and clean it, and they became inseparable friends. He calls it Ray Ray his worm friend and it calls him [ DISTORTED INCOMPREHENSIBLE DIGITAL SCREAM ]. they have their own signature dap using Ray Ray's tiny trex arms and everything. people keep trying to steal ray ray because he's a legendary, but ray ray always wins because common thieves don't have legendaries. and then sauce ran into Aaron Rodgers with his cryptic Deoxys (u guys don't know how much that name hurts my brain to try and type) (i may Have Something) and love of discovering more about pokemon through battle , and Ray Ray didn't win this time

I’ve finally finished P3R!

So now of course I must write paragraphs abt how much I loved it. Spoilers below the cut!

I can say without any hesitation or doubt that P3R is by far the best game I’ve ever played in my life.

They truly did such a wonderful job with remaking this game, so much so that it really makes me look forward to the possibility of more persona-remakes in the future. I’m so thankful that they stayed true to the original story, but improved where it was necessary. I’m blown away by every detail they put into this game, and how they managed to make even the menu screens absolutely beautiful.

I’ve always tended to get a bit sappy/emotional about games I really like, but I genuinely do believe that the persona franchise, specifically p3 and p4, have changed me as a person. They’ve effected me emotionally, and helped me navigate the meaning of my own life. I got invested within the persona franchise at a very young age (I think I was in the 5th grade lmfao 😭), and it was the first game series I really fell in love with — and that was only through watching playthroughs on YouTube at the time. Looking back on it, I think that it’s what really sparked my passion for video games, and also game development in general.

I started getting back into the persona franchise about 1 and a half, maybeeee 2 years ago, and being able to reconnect with the games and fall in love with them all over again has been such a crazy cool experience. Playing P3R after playing the original p3 was such a joy, and I can confidently say it emotionally impacted me just as much as the original did, if not more.

It’s not often I feel the urge to replay a game right after I finish it, usually I have to give it a break for a bit, but I’ve already started my New Game+ run of P3R and I’m not feeling even remotely burnt out, which I think is another example of how much I absolutely adore this game.

y'all I did a color and style study of one of the official artworks from sky cotl

what I noted:

the one color that is used throught the entire picture is orange

there is far more detail in the face than in the clothing

the shadows are usually desatured and more blueish,while things in the light are more saturated and more orange/red

orange is used as the surface scatter light effect thingy. it's basically the color dividing the darks from the lights and it is very bright

I personally used oil pastel textured brushes to achieve the textured look,I don't really know what they actually used. The texture throught the piece is more grainy than smooth

the lineart is relatively thick and changes color depending on color of the surface,light/shadow and if the line touches a different surface

the lineart because more greyish and light when in light and way darker in the shadow

i forgot that there's a brief in-game challenge of running from the Fendelian tanks to lure them to the hill, but it became hilariously easy since one of the perks i added to my new game+ was increased field running speed 😅 i literally ran in circles around them for a minute before my hubris eventually caught up. (i should have mentioned the speed-up thing before, it was frankly startling when i started the new file and kid!asbel was zipping around at unnatural speeds like something out of a horror movie 😂)

sopheria seeds are MASSIVE, they're like the size of the flower! o_O i thought they reproduced by turning into sparkles and flying across the world?? do they produce seeds after that???

the npc kid who was down bad for Hubert STILL talks about him 7 years later. i respect her commitment for not moving on to someone more available. maybe she's a gold digger lol (Anise who?)

Further observations of the duality of NPCs 😂:

it's a little strange to me that the royal army doesn't think it can lend support to Lhant due to the feudal system of independent states. like i'm far from an expert on feudal monarchies but i think Lhant still pays like a tithe to the king so wouldn't losing that land to a foreign country only hurt the monarchy in general? I can understand not taking sides if it was two different states of Windor in-fighting but this is literally a foreign invasion, they'd be losing valuable land, money, and resources. Lhant may be small but it has two seaside ports, ample farmland, and a cryas mine apparently (the lore mentions this multiple times. why don't you ever go there in the game? 🤔) this NPC backs me up though:

⬇ why. why is this plot point of a potential traitor in Lhant never addressed. was it an idea that was scrapped later and has traces left in the script or was it never meant to be a thing and i'm just reading way too much into it 😅 either way, i ended up running with the idea in my own fic so yayyyy free angst 💜
