It's such a pet peeve of mine that many of the Hannibal fics that include Abigail have her portrayed as a Hannibal/Will 2.0. There's so much to explore with her canon guilt towards her victims, her gentleness that is always so overlooked because of her defensive exterior, but instead she's moulded into the perfect hannigram lovechild. Even outside of canon, she's simply an extension to these men.

Give me kind Abigail. Give me an Abigail who flees with Will and Hannibal to Florence. Who realises she's in the exact same spot she was a couple of years ago. Give me guilt-ridden Abigail who repeatedly apologizes after every meal, who frequents the church everyday and begs for forgiveness. Give me selfless Abigail, whose new classmates think she's cold and mean for keeping her distance, when in reality she can't bear the thought of seeing one of her peers on a missing poster.

i have suddenly become obsessed with a theme that HoO established but never proceeded to extrapolate on, which is:
