2023-2024 Broadway Season Ranked

I saw every new show that opened on Broadway in the 2023-2024 season. Once more, perfectly normal and not at all cost-prohibitive. Compared to seasons' past, this one was plentiful in new musicals and utterly bereft of quality. Usually I have at least four shows that rewire my entire circuitry, but not this time.

Do you have strong opinions on any of these new shows? Are you filled with unstoppable rage at this list? Do you agree wholeheartedly? Discuss.

sorry but i hate that claudia's dress is hung up like it's in a museum. i know why it is, and it's sweet and tragic and i don't blame louis for trying to both honor and grieve her in this way, but i hate it <3 that her clothes fitted perfectly just for her by her immortal companion, just like her diaries, her own private thoughts penned down throughout her life, have been preserved and made perfect in bright open spotlight for gloved hands and watching eyes to feast on even in death. kinda hate it here

One of the nearby theatres is doing newsies (I was too young to audition cause it was hs and up :( unfortunately)

With the release of From The Rehearsal Room - Tokyo to Ramin's youtube I finally, finally, continue and finish this side project I'm doing.

Initially, I used AI to mastered it because the first version I got from bilibili were not in good quality but I wasn't satisfied and I found the much better quality. But with Ramin uploaded it to youtube, I re did all the mastering just with audacity for both Part 1 and Part 2. The Part 2 is still from the better version I found from bilibili, by the way.

What you need to do is just download the file and put it on your music player. The metadata is all completed as if it's whole legit album. Enjoy, guys!!

And I'm being weird so all the lyrics that are put there are from my listening although I still use what I found online but I still listened and compared. They made few ad-libs and changes and I notice because for the songs that I wasn't familiar, the lyric that I found online and what they sang was slightly different. Perhaps they sing the newer version of the lyrics or mistakes? Even each Sheytoons songs they sing one in both parts differ from the ones I found online.

To say she's a Diva in the most literal terms is an understatement, but in this case, this seems like the most innocuous thing Patti LuPone has said all week.

I think the most memorable Hamlet production I've seen is the one we went to in Budapest a few years ago, mostly because it was absolutely fucking unhinged. But the more interesting part is that the entire stage is made up of red stadium seats. Pictures cannot convey how imposing this scenery was, looming above the auditorium and forcing the spectators to look up. And this entire gimmick became incredible well embedded into the play, which was set in the modern times, but strayed from the original story very little. There was the play inside a play scene, where the actors were staring at us, and Hamlet's narration was the only indicator of what was happening. There is Polonius's murder, where he is very obviously crouching behind one of the rows, but Hamlet is too submerged in talking to the audience and berating Gertrude to notice him. There is the scene where Ophelia has gone mad and is dancing and singing, all while Gertrude, Claudius, and Laertes watches from the pews, until Laertes snaps and starts to desperately shake her by the shoulders. Laertes absolutely stole the show by the way (person between Gertrude and Claudius on the pictures), his performance was Excellent. And then there's the duel, which I Kid You Not, is not shown on stage. It is left out, and we are met with Horatio and Fortinbras sitting next to each other as Horatio tells him how it happened. In front of them are Hamlet and Laertes who say their lines, although halfheartedly, and occasionally clack their swords together, because Horatio's retelling is hollow and haunted with grief. At the very end, they carry in those skeletons and set them on a pile on the floor. It is unnecessarily extra and man I love it so much
