Outsiders driving headcanons:

- Soda and Steve are both lead-footed as FUCK but they're ultimately responsible drivers

- However, their responsibility goes out the window if they pull up next to a Soc at a red light (at which the race is immediately ON)

- Darry drives with one hand on the steering wheel and his elbow on the edge of the window

- Ponyboy hates learning how to drive because Darry gets impatient with him and yells all the while Soda's in the back just laughing his ass off

- "I drive responsibly because there's illegal shit in my car" - Two-Bit probably

- "I drive irresponsibly DESPITE there being illegal shit in my car" - Dallas definitely

- Ponyboy drives under the speed limit at first and it annoys EVERYONE

- Johnny only drives the others cars when they get too trashed to drive home and need a sober driver (he's too jumpy to drive without slamming his foot on the brake every so often, FORGET driving on the interstate)
