Mary Jane grew frustrated. Neither of them were refusing to see the other's perspective. He kept arguing over and over that what he had said and done while the thing took over him wasn't him, but hearing Peter say it, his voice, the way he looked at her, it was something she couldn't not erase from her mind so easily. The one person she never thought would say those things was suddenly saying it and it brought her back to a time where her parents treated her the way Peter did. The way he unearthed every single one of her insecurities was just painful. MJ wished Peter understood that. "Yeah it wasn't you willingly saying it, but you said it. You said it and you broke my heart," she whispered and shook her head. Mary Jane ran a hand through her hair as she tried to grasp everything that had happened. It was bad enough she barely got any sleep after Peter's sudden disappearance for a whole damn week, but then after that, he disappeared again, this time being infected by something and attacking the people that cared about him. The two sat in silence, MJ sighing and standing up. She was about to walk to the kitchen when she then turned to glance at Peter. Shaking her head, MJ went into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. She mostly left the room because the silence was killing her. It felt weird having such a silence with her husband, foreign almost. Grabbing the glass of water, she headed back into the living room and placed it in front of Peter as a peace offering as sorts before siting on the couch opposite him. "A-Are you hurt?"

Peter let out a big sigh, his hand running down his face. He was frustrated. There was no denying that. And unfortunately, he wasn’t the best at hiding or holding back his emotions. There was a reason why he was known as such a hot head. But he really was trying his best to hold back. Trying. Very hard. Biting down on his bottom lip as MJ talked about what she was going through because of this whole thing, he sighed and crossed his arms. He was so tired. He was so tired and restless and on high alert and he had a million things running through his head like MJ and Reed and the stupid symbiote suit and the church. There was so much that he really had to put all his energy to focus on MJ and MJ alone. And when she started to spew some nonsense about him hating her, his arms dropped to the side. He stepped forward before remembering their dilemma and he stopped his tracks, shaking his head. “What are you talking about? Mary Jane, what are you even saying? I didn’t come back hating you? I didn’t hate you! That wasn’t even me. I get that it’s hard for you, but that wasn’t me. That… thing was making me act out. It was making me rage. But that wasn’t me. Those thoughts aren’t even in my head. Ever! It just knew how to get to you. It’s smart. Too smart. And it used that against us. Don’t you get it? It wasn’t me.” And that thing was running free out there. It was dangerous and Peter had no idea where to even begin looking for it. Rubbing the right side of his temples, he took in a deep breath to try and calm himself. “I’m sorry. Okay? I’m sorry. I won’t go. I’ll just…” He stepped around in the spot that he was before shrugging. “I’ll just… I’ll just stay here. Okay? If that’s what you need, I’ll just stay here.” That was probably for the best. It wasn’t like Peter was going to be able to sleep anyway and he wouldn’t want to be tossing and turning in their bed keeping MJ awake. If she even wanted to sleep in the same bed as him to begin with.
