Notes: I was listening to Run To You by Whitney Houston and I thought how fitting it is for a pinning and sad Draco. It's perfect. So here a flow of thoughts. It's not a real fic, I hope you still enjoy it. WARNINGS: pinning and sad Draco hours

I know that when you look at me There's so much that you just don't see

Draco has so many colours and aspects of his personality that he doesn't show. Underneath he is just a scared boy, who regrets all the mistakes he had made and now he has to face a new world that doesn't welcome him with open arms.

But if you would only take the time I know in my heart you'd find A girl who's scared sometimes Who isn't always strong Can't you see the hurt in me? I feel so all alone

He's loleny. Except for his mother, Pansy and Blaise, no one wants to have anything to do with him. He can't find new friends, somebody who'd love him seems an impossible task.

His heart aches with longing, wishing he could just run to somebody and be held and told that everything would be alright. Potter saved him once, maybe it could happen again. And if nights bring wishful dreams of strong arms and a warm solid body hugging him, mornings shine on the bitter truth.

Each day, each day I play the role Of someone always in control But at night I come home and turn the key There's nobody there, no one cares for me

Every day he puts on his cold and unbothered facade, styling his hair perfectly and dressing in elegant clothes to hide the mess inside him. He goes to work, an underpaid gig at the Ministry where no one of his colleagues really talks to him. He feels alone at work and so does he at home, an empty and quite flat. No one to greet him, to say goodnight to.

What's the sense of trying hard to find your dreams Without someone to share it with Tell me what does it mean?

He wonders why e's trying so hard. For who? Himself? Not really. Most days he doesn't even have the force to get out of bed. He sees all these people making plans for the future and it always involves a lover. Maybe he will never find someone like that, but he still needs to think about his mother, so there's that. It must be enough, even if his heart disagrees.

Passing another night alone, hugging a pillow to his chest, silent tears fall from his eyes. How would it feel to have someone wipe them away for him? He pictures big kind hands and green eyes staring back at him. He still sees Potter a the Ministry, always with one or two of his friends. They don't knowledge each other presence. It's almost like he doesn't exist anymore in the eyes of the man. Which hurts more than being hated.

One morning he is in the elevator, going to work like every other day, alone because people tend to avoid him if possible, even if it means to arrive late at work. He's looking down at his shoes when the elevator stops and someone gets on.

"Hello, Malfoy." Nobody ever greets him, so when his eyes meet green fields all the air in his lungs gets punched out.

"Hello." He manages to say, voice stable enough to not vocalize the turmoil inside him. He can taste his heart in his throat.

They don't share another word, riding the elevator in silence. When Potter comes to his stop he gets off. But not before looking at him again. "See you around, Malfoy." He doesn't have the time or the force to say anything back, as the doors close in front of his face.

If he fantasizes about running into Potter's arms it's only between him and his delusional mad heart.

Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

Ah Fuck it, Friday

Alright I made the executive decision that Love bites, but so do I will be getting the Sinful Sunday slot this week! BUT I've also been working on alot of older wips this week. Like Silence isn't golden for example!

Fanom: Harry Potter- Post HBP, Drarry, first person POV, heavy angst fic

Finally, FINALLY we have a lead.  Ron, Hermione, Dobby, and I burst through the doors of the Edinburgh flat without feeling the wrath of any of the spells that hurt Dobby.  “That cannot be a good sign,” I sigh irritability as the four of us split off in the small flat for any clues we can find.  There isn't much, this place has been scrubbed clean, metaphorically and literally with magic. And that’s more suspicious than if they had just left it.  There has to be something else here. Something to help us.  “This is the room I found him in,” Dobby says, pointing to a room I hadn’t initially seen. Once inside, I realize its barely a few cubic meters bigger than the bedroom I grew up in. The only difference is this one has a bathroom.  It's also the only thing in the house that still has remnants of any proof of life.  When they fled, Snape scrubbed any proof of himself from the premises. The same extension did not apply to Draco. All of his things were still here. Clothes, books, empty potion bottles, small trinkets stashed behind the bed for safe keeping. Things Draco treasured enough to keep around and Snape made sure they leave behind.   My hatred for Snape grew stronger the longer I looked over the room. It didn't take a master aurour to piece together some of the atrocities that went on in this room based solely on the state of things. If I wasn’t so desperate to preserve the scene in efforts to find Draco faster, I would have blown the room apart.  

Azkaban

Snape slinks through the prison easily and without attracting any attention. It’s a true testament to how snake-like the slytherin truly is. Moving silently and efficiency through the shadows had started as a defence against school bullies but now serves him in the real world, hiding from forces much, much stronger.  “Lucius?” The hollowed out shell of a man blinks up from his cell, his pale, empty eyes growing wide when he sees the other man’s face.  “Severus!” “Silence!” Snape bites, because his invisibility only extends so far. If Lucius screams his attendance it doesn't matter how fast he moved past the guards.  “Yes, sorry, sorry my friend, it's just- so good to see you! You don’t know what it's like here.” “I've been working on your case,” Snape maneuvers past pleasantries onto the task at hand. “Crafting alibis. It hasn't been easy.” “And my son, how, how is he?” Lucius asks, face obviously fighting to will down tears that wish to spill.  Severus doesn't blink when he lies.   “He’s dead.” “W-What?” “Slain, by Harry Potter. I tried to keep Draco hidden. But you know him, his disobedience has never been able to be reigned. He snuck out, and was executed.” “Draco- Draco is-”  Snape grabs Lucius’ hand through the bars.  “Yes, but you are not, Lucius. We don’t have time to grieve, every minute we wait, is another day closer to your execution.” “You're right, you're right,” Lucius sniffles, squeezing Snape’s hand before breaking away to wipe away his tears. “Thank you my friend, I don't know where I’d be without you.”

Edinburgh flat

I'm still not sure what pulls me in the direction of this evidence, whether it's my intuition or something magical but im both infinitely grateful and horrified to have followed this instinct to fruition.  The notebook I found was buried under a magical spell ive never seen before. Thankfully, brilliant Hermione has, and after a moment, the chest is unlocking, revealing a single book. Theres no outside descriptors, and the magic glamour on it is making it look older than it is. Another disguise to shroud its contents.  The bad feeling grows stronger as I leaf through the parchment pages.  - I’m barely through week two of Draco’s retellings of his torturous days in Snape’s care before my guts are spilling all over the floor of the flat.  “Oy! Gross Harry!” Ron scolds, which is fair, I nearly hit him with it.  “Are you alright?” Hermione asks, rushing to my side.  I drop the book and shake my head. I can't look at it any more. I know I need to. To help find Draco. But I can’t right now.  “What is that?” Ron asks and I can't make my mouth move.  He moves to pick up the book and I snap. “DON’T FUCKING TOUCH THAT!” Ron’s hands go up in reflexive surrender, “Whoa! Hell Harry! Okay!” “Harry,” Hermione asks again, her own fear and concern growing stronger, “what is it?” I close my eyes and exhale.  “It's so much worse than we thought…”

and what if in a modern royalty setting (or maybe not, we all here are suckers for a good victorian drama, sublime and angsty af) Draco is a prince, may be to the british or french crown, and his parents are planning on marrying him off with a not so random consort to be able to be crowned king. but he don‘t want to neither be king or be married to someone he doesn‘t know.

and in one of those times where he was going for a walk to clear his mind and lower the heat of anger from his body, he meets Harry. and the yearning is infuriating because he knows he can‘t have Harry. he can‘t even try to convince himself to be allured to the disillution, so he decides to stop meeting him.

and the yearing worsened, and every day that passes the wedding is getting closer and closer, so he decides to make a resolution. he decided to write in letters all the moments he enjoyed next to Harry; Draco described every raw and intense feeling that Harry caused in him, and although he could not do anything about it, he could immortalise the only time of freedom he lived next to the person he learned to love.

Draco never sent the letters, but he wrote Harry's name and address on each one of them. and if many years later, maybe after Draco's death or simply a coincidence, someone finds the letters stored in a box with the inscription "you are a collection of all the love letters i have written", maybe Harry could finally realise that the feeling was always reciprocated and understood that their time could come in another life.
