Israel’s flagbearer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Peter Paltchik, was found to have signed bombs targeting civilians in Gaza.
Referring to the Israeli bombs that have targeted Gaza since October last year, the 32-year-old judoka said in a social media post, “From me to you with pleasure.”
Paltchik also disrupted a pro-Palestinian protest in Japan and harassed protesters while wearing an Olympic uniform. Paltchik, alongside Andi Murez, are the contingent flag bearers for Israel at Paris 2024.

Meet another Israeli #Paris2024 hopeful (as requested!!)
Judo star Peter Paltchik was born in Ukraine with multiple fractures after a difficult birth. His factory worker grandfather took him to judo to help strengthen his muscles and he became a star at the sport.
The former European champion will be one of Israel’s flag bearers at the opening ceremony and has received death threats and even an ‘invitation’ to his own funeral.
Additional messages have threatened to ‘recreate’ the horrors of the 1972 Munich Olympics when 11 Israeli athletes were kidnapped and killed.
During a training trip to Japan in April Peter came face to face with anti Israel demonstrators:
‘The protestors saw me, and my uniform, and they pointed the megaphone in my face,’ he told the Times of Israel. ‘They screamed and I just stared them down. I looked straight into their eyes. I wanted to show all of them that we are not afraid. Through my eyes, I was showing them the power of Israel. During the whole time I was really upset. I kept saying to myself don’t do anything violent. Don’t move your hands. No violence. I may fight in competition, but I am not a violent person. I am peaceful. Fighting is not the Israeli and Jewish way.’
Peter hopes that others will follow his lead and stand up for Israel and the Jewish people. ‘For me, I know we must stand up. You can’t ignore what is happening. We are a strong nation, and we must be strong in the face of this hate.’

It's for a variety of different reasons. Most notably the fact that Russia has been banned from participating in the Olympics on the account of the war it's waged on Ukraine. So why is Israel not receiving the same treatment when it has been ruled an apartheid by the ICJ?
This is also especially frustrating when one remembers how the world treated apartheid South Africa; they weren't allowed to compete multiple times.
There is also the fact that a lot of Israeli civilians have played an active role in cheering for the genocide their government is committing in Gaza.
This is but a single comment written in response to the 18 months old baby that was decapitated in the tents massacre:
Tumblr media
From making tiktoks to actively blocking the entrance of aid, israelis have shown their support in a number of different ways. (There are multiple articles reporting on this. I could give you links if you'd like)
Civilian Israelis also have no qualms about showing off items that their relatives who are currently serving in the military, looted from gaza to present it to them as some sort of 'souvenir'.
This indicates how comfortable the Israelis, the ones away from the fighting, the civilians of whom athletes are a subset, are with the dehumanisation of palestinians. In other words, the dehumanisation of palestinians is not something that only the politicians and military are guilty of.
Last but not least, the Israeli team's flag bearer signed off on the bombs heading to Gaza, then wrote in a tweet; "from me to you, with pleasure."
The Israeli judo team also disrupted a protest for Gaza that was being held in Japan, and threatened to kill the protestors, all while dressed in the official Olympics uniform..

A harmadik izraeli érem - Olimpianapló VI.

Peter Paltchik, the flagbearer for Israel in the Olympics, but more importantly a guy who signed bombs that were later dropped on Gaza will be competing on August 1st in Judo.
Now I'm not saying anything bad should happen to him but Gonchigsuren Batkhuyag (Mongolia) has the opportunity to do something really funny.
