I can Almost imagine how Impressive you have to be To Pull THE percy Jackson. Like pulling any Demi-God is great but PERCY?!? The son of posiden?!? THE SAVIOR of Olympus?!?
I headcanon that Percy is really just out of Anyone's League And You gotta be Pretty damn Special to be able to Pull him
Like imagine Fumbling him or breaking his heart
THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
Like come on Rick you are telling me Percy the greatest demigod of all time Jackson has to be paired up with someone who has nothing in common with him, frequently condescends him, literally forces her own views on him, hates his father, has a mother who tried to kill Percy, is controlling and toxically possessive of him and most importantly someone who has completely different life goals than him?? It doesn't even make sense when you look at it rationally.
I think Rick himself was trying to put Percy down in post Son of Neptune books by making his personality all about Annabeth.
We are talking about the Savior of Olympus, the bearer of Achilles Curse, the strongest demigod, the man who denied immortality from the King of Gods, Poseidon's favorite son, the only demigod to have been approached by other Pantheons first and well respected among their demigod equivalents, the only male demigod to have respect of Artemis, only one to be favored by so many Gods on the Olympian Council and that's only pre-Heroes of Olympus.
The Survivor of Tartarus, the demigod whose blood even Gaia wanted to wake to due to his power, the first and only Greek to be made a Praetor and now two times savior of Olympus. This is all without mentioning his singular and unique feats, and he has many.
AND THIS IS WHAT RICK DOES WITH HIS CHARACTER ARC????
Had Rick not been so obsessed with shoving Percabeth down our throats, he could have totally made Seafam Arc, and all our fics would have not been fics. We wouldn't even have needed headcanons for seafam cause Amphitrite and Triton and all of Atlantis would have absolutely loved him cause come on, it's Percy. It's impossible not to love him. So let's assume that's exactly what happened.
So the whole of Atlantis, Seafam, and most of the Olympian Gods love Percy and not to mention Sally and Paul, who are also very protective of Percy.
The new Lord of the Wild is his best friend, The Lieutenant of Artemis is his other best friend and cousin, both the children of Hades/Pluto are his best friends/cousins, the only other demigod to be blessed by Poseidon with a rare gift is also his very close friend not to mention other members of the Seven also respect him greatly and owe him quite a bit.
Hestia, Apollo, Hermes, Aphrodite, Artemis,Hades, Hepheastus, and even Dionysus and River gods either openly favor him or have much respect for him. (Poseidon and the Seafam are implied, Bob and Damasen as well).
This isn't even taking into account all the pegasi and nymphs and sea creatures who love him and that he has a literal hell hound.
Percy not only has friends in high places and the favor of literal gods on top of being Poseidon's favorite son as told by Poseidon himself, all the people with special abilities are all close friends with him.
In Riordanverse, Percy is like the only person you don't want to cross like ever.
So you know logically if anyone needs an explanation as to why Annabeth isn't a good match for him and someone like Rachel would have fit much better. A mortal blessed with sight much like his Mother later turned Oracle of Delphi, the girl who saved his life in literally the very first two encounters they have, a girl under protection of Olympians and blessed by Apollo?
Apollo could have definitely waived the celibacy rule as there have been mentions of married women later becoming oracles in Greek mythology( May Castellan too if you count the books) and that the rule is only to prove devotion to the God nothing more. And if Apollo can't, then Delphi, who is a spirit older than Gods themselves, could just change allegiances. She once belonged to Poseidons' domain, so there's that.
But since I am biased in favor of Rachel, literally any other ship but Percabeth would have been logical and fitting and better off compatibility wise.

As much as I hate pjo athena, something it irks me is when they said she is not a "girls's girl or or a pick me," for blaming men for women's actions, it's def misogyny but is lowkey reducing and using the term pick me in a wrong way??.
"Pick me" is a girl that searchs for male attention, humiliating women, blaming women, for men's approval, however blaming women and victims of abuse, for being taken advantages of, is something that is taught on our society, "why someone dress like that?" Or question "why she drank alcohol or trusted someone who is unknown, yeah he is a monster but everybody knows stranger danger". Women can hold the victim accountable and not the predator, blame women for men's action and still not doing for male approval. It's internalized misogyny that sometimes they don't even realize they are being misogynistic.
I think Athena blaming Medusa and annabeth, was def a way of misogyny,
It's also more of her big ego getting hurt and her pride, more than her blaming women for being women
In the book, the first thing the athena cabin is taught and have to learn is that "Mom is the best, even better than her kids, she teaches them no matter how they tried, she still be better".
yeah normal mothers (not abusive) think they are right because the fact they are older and have more experiences but still want their kids to do better than them, but they don't teach u "i'm the best, kid, learn it, i'm better"
She expects her kids to honor her, they always have to be smart, wise, logical, they have to act like a proper child of Athena would, similar to her, even if in her eyes, they won't be as amazing as she thinks she is, still wants her kids to mantain her reputation, show everyone what implies to be her children, the goddess of wisdom. Because for her,she views the athena cabin as extension of her,not their own person.
Athena expects her kids to always worship her, like an obligation, not in "my mom is the best I adore her" percy worshiping the ground Sally walks but in a "those kids are lucky to be my children and have my smartness"??
She dislikes her friendship and later relationship with Percy, because in her eyes and point of view, is degrading for her, that her kids are friends with her enemy's kid, it's to spite her.
Even if the roles were reversed, athena would do the same, punishing her child,no matter gender, for not acting like a proper child of hers would.
Athena's ego played part on Medusa's myth. How she was jealous of Medusa's hair, regardless she couldn't do anything, because she knew it wasn't fair, she saw her worshippers as an extension of hers. Athena though of herself more than Medusa's feelings when Poseidon persuaded her, she def victim blamed Medusa, and had misognystic ideals, and punished her, turning her hair, into gorgons.
Conclusion: she did have misogynistic ideas and lowkey is,but she also had more motives than that.
Or maybe I hate PJO athena so much.

Percy Jackson is against bullying.
He is however very sad that neither Annabeth, Clarrise or Drew had met Octavian in camp Jupiter, because as much as he frowns on it he would pay any kind of money to see those three tear him a new one for acting like a little bitch he is.

Percy listens to those whale noises that people use to sleep but he just listens to them like a podcast.
And any time he hears someone like Annabeth listening to them he's like "Wow Daphne is really something else. Honestly I can't believe she would do that"
And Annabeths's like "what?"
And Percy just translates the entire thing to her and instead of calming sounds to help her concentrate she now has Percy tell her all the whale drama which she is oddly immersed with.

Percy Jackson but Hestia has a cabin. that is where the unclaimed go because she goddess of home and family. Demigods get claimed faster because when they show up Hestia glares at her siblings, nieces and nephews untill they claim them.

that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.
