Rating mental breakdown spots in Gotham

Gotham subways: 5/10. Can blast emo music through your headphones. Train occasionally stalls. Other passengers too burned out to notice you. 

Gotham U: 10/10. You're likely not the only one. School mascot hands out free tissues. 

Batburger: 8/10. Semi-public depending on seating. Tears make the fries soggy. Line cooks are wrestling in the background. 

Crime Alley: 0/10. People think you're drunk. You're a prime mugging target. Kids laugh at you.

Sewers: -2/10. Smells bad. 50% chance of Croc attack. 

Iceberg Lounge: 3/10. Judgy rich snobs. Bathroom full of people doing coke. Drinks too expensive to drown yourself in. 

Wayne Gala: 4/10. Also judgy rich people. Must dress formally. Can't stick your head in chocolate fountain. Dick Grayson will become your therapist whether you like it or not.

there is so much to unpack about dinner scene but it comes down to two people finding themselves in unexpected pseudo-familial dynamic born out of grief and loneliness

sofia asks if she can help in cooking/changes plates and then be still for millisecond, almost bracing herself for harsh reaction because that how it was with carmine. but sal is not like her father. she doesn't have to walk on eggshells in case she makes him upset, she can actually relax a little bit and eat in peace.

and i love all the parallels and anti-parallels between these dinner scenes from 1x04 and 1x06 :

grand room vs kitchen

sal actually cooking the meal vs carmine getting the prepared food

soup (symbol of warmth/intimate dish) vs roasted hunted meat

carmine/sal both pour her wine (as in she's the big girl sitting at adults table)

carmine positioned at the head of the table vs sal choosing to sit next to her

sofia in proper dress/hair done vs nightgown/hair disheveled

all the food x sofia scenes post-arkham were a build up to this scene with sal so audience would see how she's more considerate to him -> actually mindful of his opinion about herself ; cause sofia was eating like time was running out, not caring what people would think about her and here she's makes herself to slow down and actually enjoy the meal like!!!!!!!!!!!!! so much to unpack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continuing my Adventure Time binge and I got to the Gunter/Orgalorg bits. Ice King took this horrible, cruel alien menace who's been seeking ultimate power for millennia and loved him, cuddled him, disciplined him (sometimes undeservedly) and overall sucked him into his deluded family unit. He did this for so long that when Gunter finally was given a chance for ultimate power -via the wishing crown - he chose instead to become Ice Thing. To become like his dad.

Simon dadded so hard that he turned two eldritch beings with capacity for immense destruction into daddies girls.

ten minutes into the new penguin episode and already i kinda wish that the show followed sal being the father sofia deserved, and sofia being the child sal deserved

operation veggie villain. herbert's summit lair was the very first room i made for cpj. everything except for the trees, rock, and some corn assets were drawn from scratch. i took special care to ensure this room was as accurate to the lair from the mission as possible, down to the exact placement and number of every corn cob and kernel. the ski villages are room edits i made, with the projector asset being stolen from the psa missions.

the psa hq rebuild phase 2 is an edit that required a good bit of drawing for the fixed screen structures and such. the deadline for this room was a single day because the team realized only last second they needed it iirc, so i really should've rushed the job, but i put so many little details in it because i kept being like, wait this would be so fun! i left the cracks in the wall where the desk initially broke through, patched up the broken wires with electrical tape, there's the closet half open to tease the epf of course, and i realize this was blocked by the ui in the end, but the crate in the corner holds various electronics, including parts of the popcorn bomb. lore-wise, in my head they were going to salvage the good parts of the machines. and of course we can't forget the little trashcan in the corner :] it holds the stuffing from the gift shop salon chair. i loved the idea that despite all of the popcorn and mess still around, they bothered to use the tiny trashcan

The Jl asking….casually… if bruce has a favorite kid and he answers without looking up, ‘oh yeah its steph’ and they're all flabbergasted because damn they didn't expect him to just admit to it that quickly and/or easily and so later clark is slowly, gently breaking the news to cass/damian that bruce admitted steph is his favorite and barry told wally who told dick and roy who told jason and they don't seem torn up about it at all and then they tell steph and she screams in frustration and throws something at a wall and yells ‘shit is it september already???” and they are utterly confused so a week later or so jason calls them over to the watchtower and goes ‘hey b who’s your favorite kid?’ and bruce looks up and makes dead eye contact with him and says ‘damian.’

Cerebos is a surrealist travelogue game written by Zach Welhouse (and edited by me) about a group of amnesiac travellers riding a train to the titular Crystal City, with plenty of strange stops along the way.

Costume Fairy Adventures, meanwhile, is one of the earliest games I worked on from back in 2013; it's about, well, fairies. In costumes. Having adventures. (Look, I freely admit it's not a creative title.)

If you've ever been terribly curious to check out either one, now's your chance. All of my smaller games (Radical Catgirl Anarchy, Olaf Hits the Dragon with his Sword, Jellyfish Felonies, Sinister Hovering Orb, and To Serve) are already pay-what-you-want, so there's no sense putting them on sale, but they are included in the "100% of all sales go to the creator" thing that's running today, so if you just happened to pay what you want today in particular, that sure would be convenient!
