Sabo’s not being serious though he’s just forwarding from Garp (who is not being ironic) . But in all seriousness Sabo would probably say “GOOD MORNINGGGG” and scornfully demean Ace’s lack of energy and the fact that he said good morning at 1:37pm in the afternoon. Anyway, this continued for about 2 years before Ace realised he was not in the family group chat and was not receiving these from Garp anyway. Suddenly everything made sense.

🎱 – 2024
i debated between these lyrics and "if i spilled my guts, the world would never look at you the same way" because the way i was able to capture him in this image he looked relatively serious. or at least more-so than he actually is. i did manage to give him more of a sinister look here, which i feel works with the lyrics. but this felt like an appropriate balance between being about a dog that could actually cause you physical harm and an eight ball reference.

Thinking about sonic and shadows reactions to sonsha. Both have a rage inside when they discover her origins. Sonic for the fact that eggman took this persons whole autonomy away, no wait- didnt even let her have one in the first place. Her paws have never touched the grass or felt the wind whip at her face without the shackles shes forced to wear. Shadow for seeing a crueler version of his creation play out, what he couldve been if he hadnt snapped out of it at the last second, and she doesnt even have the benefit of a light of hope like he did with Maria. She had nobody but robotnik. It doesn't matter that she's somehow their kid (theyll never see her as that anyways), Sonic and Shadow both want her freed from eggmans grasp, whatever it takes. This isnt about giving second chances, its about trying to give this person the first chance shes ever gotten

I just may not know enough about the story or the character, but I see a common trait or two, but not to that extent, lol. Granted, I think the only 2 traits I know from the glittery vamp is 1. broodiness (so check there), and 2. hungry. I was not a fan of Twilight as you might have guessed, I just could not get into it, but I did watch the first movie with the RiffTrax!

Maybe it’s my fear of not being believed but I literally can’t do comedy where the other person isn’t being believed. Straight up, at first I would get stressed when the Human Centipede clip was going around. Like, do you know how terrifying it is to be in a wild ass date where you think you’re in danger and the waiter notices but has they have to open their mouth so now you have lie. Or the Elmo Rocko memes like, OF COURSE ELMO’S DISTRESSED! I WOULD BE TOO! LIKE EVERYONE IS TELLING YOU THIS ROCK IS REAL WHEN IT’S NOT(and like yah I’m sure there’s nuance to the situation but like COME ON).
Or Bibi from La Familia Peluche, I remember liking the show as kid and I still do but like, fuck man, the borderline emotional abuse than girl goes through IS WILD. LIKE EVERYONE FUCKING TELLING YOU THAT YOU’RE NOT NORMAL AND FEELING LIKE YOU’RE GOING CRAZY. I remember rewatching La Familia Peluche in Highschool and like fuck man, that period episode. Or to this day I remember the scene where they were serving food and she started to eat first and her family chastised her so she stops but then they make her feel back cause she already started so now she just continue to eat it and like I’ve literally been in a similar situation. And for those who haven’t watched the show, the whole shitck is that this is an absurd world where everyone works on a different level and Bibi’s the only who reacts normally to our eyes(the comedic straight man to alot of the jokes), which leads to the iconic line “Bibi porque no eres una niña normal”(Bibi why aren’t you a normal girl) that is said in every episode. Which from a dramatic irony perspective that we the audience know she’s the only normal person, makes it a funny joke, but if you think about it too hard, it’s so fucking sad, I just can’t help but not fully enjoy the show cause I just constantly feel bad for her.
Fuck even watching HALF LIFE VR BUT THE AI IS SELF AWARE FUCKS WITH ME! Like yes I very much enjoy the series! But, most of the time I’m just feeling bad for Gordon, like fuck man, I’d react the same way, wouldn’t you. Like ESPECIALLY BENRY! MAN DID HE STRESS ME OUT! I genuinely felt so bad for Gordon!
And then this slides into how I can’t enjoy alot of comedy(especially cringe humor) cause even though I understand the joke and think it funny on paper, I just end up feeling too bad for the character to actually enjoy. And it’s awful because I’ll STILL watch the shows because I’m invested in the characters not the humor if that makes sense??? (Oh, Community/The Office, the hate love relationship I have with you).
Anyway, yes I’m so fun to watch comedy with, I literally can’t be in the same room from some scenes. And yes, all my favorite characters follow the Only Sane Man trope, why’d you ask?

i have a lot of issues with jjk in the recent years, but i do think the culling games colonies were enjoyable and fun, and that the character development and exploration tends to get overlooked. watching shibuya animated really made me realize that, even though i love that arc, it’s more about the chaos of that single day—the characters put in bombastic fights, power reveals, the villains’ plans set in motion, introductions of major plot lines and characters. kenjaku sealing gojo, yuuji’s entire fight with mahito, and toji’s second death were great emotional moments, but i like that chapters after the arc and in the culling games colonies make more time with self-reflection.
maki’s complicated relationship with her parents and sister, and her moment of enlightenment. panda’s familial bonds and having to say goodbye. yuuta discussing with uro and ryu on what’s meaningful in their lives, love, and the increasing pressure of being strong. yuuji’s overwhelming guilt and hatred of himself reflected in higuruma’s own past and thoughts, with him trying to spare yuuji from that blame. megumi trying to save tsumiki and yuuji, but inadvertently making everything worse, spiraling into killing others, and drowning in despair, when he’s the one who has to be saved. uraume’s funny relationship towards sukuna and kenjaku. kenjaku’s motivations unraveling with their desire to find something beyond their limits in a chaos they cannot control, and killing their friendships.
There’s more than that, but it was when I finally started to really love some of these characters, even ones we’ve known from the start of the series

I don't have any fully fleshed out thoughts on this, but thinking about how a subset of Saw's horror is the terror of being/becoming disabled
Kramer is a cancer patient who is terminal, and many of his traps are survivable, as long as you are capable of, and willing to, disable yourself in some way (ex: the pound of flesh trap requiring you to mutilate your own flesh, and the winner of said trap cutting off an arm to do so) (ex2: in saw x, the bone marrow trap requiring the trapee to cut off their own leg in order to reach bone marrow)
Almost every trap in the franchise will leave the person with some form of physical alteration that would disable them, from amputation to permanent and visible scarring, to breaking a bone and potentially living with chronic pain due to complications
It's very interesting to me, and I don't think it's a critique of the franchise per se
It does tie into an ableist trope that is, disability = punishment for being bad
BUT while Saw does fall victim to that trope, they also subvert it in some cases because it's understood by the viewer that this is not justified punishment, and sometimes, the people put in the traps aren't even bad people at all, because the franchise also makes it clear how John is a hypocrite who believes his own hype to a fault
I also think that, as someone who is new to being physically disabled, it can be scary!! It's scary to think about one's body changing in a way that makes the world harder to navigate, and that, in my opinion, is not a bad thing to identify in a story like this
It is a horror franchise; you're supposed to confront things that terrify you
Anyway the series isn't above criticism, but I really like the way it confronts these tropes/themes/through lines, because I think it explores them in a way that's very human. It doesn't try to push a message necessarily; it just presents you with something disturbing, and leaves it up to us as viewers to react
