How to choose a 10.4 inch monitor?

Our 10.4-inch monitor models can be divided into two types, panel mount type and open frame type, and can be subdivided according to their functions and various methods.

1. First, select the monitor format.

 For the panel mount type, the front bezel is made of aluminum machining and plated black, and the rest of the back side is made by cutting GI material with a laser, bending it, and finishing it with texture painting. A hole of a designated size is made, and the monitor is inserted from the front, then installed from the back. It is mounted using a ear-lugs. The already elegant front bezel finish does not require any special front finishing, and it can be easily installed and dismantled without the need to prepare a separate mounting hole on the back. Compared to open frames, they are easier to install and have a more attractive appearance, but are more expensive.

In the case of open frame monitors, the panel monitor and operating front bezel are not included, so a hole of the indicated size must be created in the client's case (box, cabinet, etc.) and the rear monitor must be fixed and installed using the installation hole from the inside. Installation is more difficult than panel mount, but it is cost-effective.

2. Select the resolution you need.

In 10.4 inches, 800*600 resolution is commonly used, but you can choose 1024*768 resolution depending on your needs. There is almost no difference in price due to this difference in resolution, and there is almost no difference in performance, such as panel brightness.

However, if special options (e.g. high brightness/wide viewing angle) are required, an increase in price is inevitable and a separate consultation is required due to mechanical differences.

3. Select the video input signal to use.

You can choose between two video inputs: VGA/DVI and VGA/HDMI. However, among the current products, the basic specifications are VGA/DVI, which are advantageous for small orders and quick delivery. If an input source with other special specifications is required, separate consultation is required due to mechanical differences.

 4. Select the presence and type of touch screen.

It is not a consideration if you do not need a touch screen, but if you do, you can choose between two types: Resistive and P-Capacitive. In terms of price, the capacitance method is slightly higher, but the latest technology has high compatibility and durability without a driver, so demand is increasing recently. However, it is difficult to apply the capacitance method, so there are many cases where the pressure method is chosen.

The input method for both is USB.

 If special specifications (e.g., anti-breakage tempered glass products, RS232C input, other types of touch screens, etc.) are required, separate consultation is required due to mechanical differences

Strange New Worlds cast at Star Trek: Las Vegas 2024

The cast took a great family photo at STLV, Star Trek's largest convention, on August 4 2024.

Anson Mount was joined by Melissa Navia, Christina Chong, Ethan Peck, Carol Kane, Jess Bush, Babs Olusanmokun, Rebecca Romijn and Celia Rose Gooding.

This was Carol Kane's first convention appearance ever!

Anson Mount and Ethan Peck at FAN EXPO Canada

Some pictures and Twitter reactions of Anson and Ethan's panel today (called "We've Established Contact with Ethan Peck and Anson Mount") at the FAN EXPO convention in Toronto, Canada, August 26 2023.

Strange New Pod posted a clip of the huge waiting line for the panel, writing: "This is the line to see Anson Mount and Ethan Peck. People have been lined up for over an HOUR for this panel and it still doesn’t start for another 45 minutes."

Another fan pointed out: "The longest line at FAN EXPO CANADA I've seen has been for the Anson Mount and Ethan Peck panel. It's wrapping around three hallways. The fact that it's not in a bigger hall here is ridiculous. This video by Strange New Pod was taken 10 min after the line started."

Anson and Ethan were also signing autographs and doing photo ops with fans; more photo ops are tomorrow!
