I like how in the first game, Aphrodite is like 'Mm Charon? Oh, cool, yeah, you bought my boon from the boatman and his nasty trash :/ As least he's a greedy weirdo, otherwise I couldn't make head or tails of him.'
And now she's all 'oh Charon! I love him. He's so tall and strong. Of course who wouldn't fantasize about him coming to your aid~'
I like to believe that this is because, as the goddess of love, she couldn't figure out a damn thing about Charon since he's in the underworld, and, canonically, the Olympians can't feel what's going on down there. But then she saw Hermes slobbering all over him at the post-game party, and after god knows how long with Charon and Hermes being topside and pining completely platonically over each other due to their separation, she's realized Charon is a prime cut of grade A Beef as she should have centuries ago.
I'm very proud of her.
#hades game#hades 2#hades 2 spoilers#charon hades#aphrodite hades#charmes#im blaming hermes for aphrodite being on the skull man lovers train#i think it would also be funny if shes playing it up more to make hermes mad#because i feel like she would find making the guy she slept with worried she's going to steal the guy he wants to sleep with funny#the actual reason might be that supergiant didnt realize how big of a fan favorite charon would be#so now they are course correcting with the goddess of love#but shhhh i want the charmes explanation. i was that to be valid. its funny to me

nothing so aggravating as seeing people claim what Hades did was just a misunderstanding because he ''loved Persephone too much''. like i don't know about you, but it's pretty hard for that to turn into building a town based on slavery and later getting a girl and assaulting her (even if it's just implied, he still at least had to pretend to do something like it, because his goal was to make Persephone mad).
#blah blah gods can't really be expected to have human morality whatever#he's still a shit person#and i'd say it's not really implied even#it straight up happened. there are still so many innuendos in the show even if it was wayyy heavier pre broadway#the gods in general are complicated in their morals#hades built his town because by now he probably just sees mortals as expendable#that is probably true of all the gods inluding persephone#idk. like of course hades can be soft with seph and everything after the story. that is probably true and not really contradictory of canon#but i just can't bring myself to ignore everything else. what he does with the workers? how seph even agreed to stay with him after what he#did to eury?#they both probably don't even see mortals as full people. as much as seph cares about the world and the people in it she's still not immune#to that mindset either. hell she still charges the workers for the binocular machine. she profits off their suffering DIRECTLY#she's very hypocritical and it feels realistic to someone in her position#i can't really blame her for much because i can imagine how horrible she's had it#but at the end of the day she's still very privileged and not very aware of it#hadestown#esparrago post#sorry for my long ass rant i will shut up now#sa mention

#Hades#Zeus#Listenn I get it that what Zeus did was wrong especially by our modern morality#but by the same logic what Hades did was very wrong too#sure Zeus has his hand in it but you can't blame him alone#he might have given Hades the permission and the suggestion#but it was still Hades to who took Persephone away while she screamed for help#you can't selective about who you wanna apply mortality to#mine

| Flying Lessons á la Hermes (Reposted) |
Reblogs and comments are appreciated!
#Charmes#Chermes#hades game#hades fanart#Hades Charon#Hades Hermes#I'm reuploading this because I deleted all of my art off of twitter but I didn't want people to lose access to the full image#Idk why I never lowered the resolution when uploading this originally because it looks fine#I can't really blame tumblr for not allowing an 80+MB file when I originally posted this lol#Also in case you have followed me for a while now I can say now that I got my MS and in January I will transition to PhD#I know I don't frequently post art like I did at the peak of my Hades days but know that I still read all of the new comments/reblogs#I still love to work on art when I can!!

I once answered a question about who my least favorite god was. In my answer I said that I believe that each greek god is flawed, because ancient greek philosophers imagined the gods to have a human nature. I also added I strongly believe that each greek god represents a specific flaw. Well, I wanna share it with you guys!
The flaws each god represents are:
Zeus: adultery and disloyalty, we all can agree on this
Hera: jealousy and malice, I mean she was cheated on constantly, but she shouldn't make victims the one's who are not responsible, especially Zeus' children
Poseidon: egotism and feeling inferior, because if you think that he wanted Zeus' throne and he made Odysseus' life unbearable and impossible for him to return home, that's what it is.
Demeter: stubbornness, because you can't make the whole world starve to death. I know that losing your child is a big deal, but still tge poor mortals shouldn't have endured her rage.
Athena: feeling superior, and for me it's not a good thing to have. She took Zeus' permission to hurt Ares and when she defeated him she pointed out how inferior he was.
Artemis: she was cruel for killing her companion Callisto, when the one to blame was Zeus for taking the appearance of Artemis to seduce her.
Hermes: cleptomania and lying, he was a sweet talker and a trickster and never hesitated to use those against anyone, be it serious or just have fun.
Apollo: Killing Koronis because she was unfaithful, while she was pregnant to his child is beyond cruel. And let's not forget that no greek god was faithful to their lovers, so it's kinda hypocritical.
Ares: Not putting his mind to work and always being spontaneous and sentimental. Also, he was indecisive and never cared about consequences, because he broke his promise to Hera and Athena about his side on the Trojan war, but it's not really his forte to choose sides on a war.
Hephaestus: He wanted so badly to be accepted by his family, that he lost reasoning when he trapped Ares and Aphrodite on his bed. Not that Ares and Aphrodite were right, but if we take the myth that Ares and Aphrodite had children and were together before the incident, then it was cruel of Hephaestus to separate them to marry Aphrodite.
Aphrodite: Full of herself, she couldn't accept that someone was more beautiful than her, and also vindictive towards Helios daughter and Eos.
Hades: Doing whatever he wants. You can't just abduct Persephone taking Zeus approval and let Demeter suffer.
Dionysus: alcoholic. We can all agree to that the god of wine constantly drinks wine.
Hestia: Nothing about her. She never meddled in drama or caused any problems!
That's my pint of view about their flaws. I don't want anyone to get offended if they like a certain god, this is just my opinion based on events. I bad-mouthed everyone here!😂😜
What do you think? Is there anything else you may wanna add? Write it in the comments!

Ok now I’m imagining Cassiopeia trying to shield and protect Andromeda from being taken away and sacrificed like how Andromache tried to protect Astyanax from the Achaeans in Euripides Trojan Women.
#I trash talk Cassiopeia and Cepheus a lot on here#but Cassiopeia undoubtedly loves and prides in Andromeda#even if that love and pride is misplaced#even the nereids were like ‘sure Andromeda was rescued but now Cassiopeia is traumatized for life’#‘and blames herself for all the damage caused so well let this slide’#and at the end of the day Cassiopeia still lost her daughter#not to death or violence but to a loving marriage#I love a good complex mother daughter relationship#another reason I hate Clash of the Titans remake#like what was the fucking reason to have Cassiopeia killed by Hades at the beginning of the film#and I think Cepheus was killed too in the climax of the movie bc a building fell on top of him or whatever#and there was barely a reaction from Andromeda#and don’t tell me it’s bc she wasn’t close to her parents#Orestes and Electra still mourned for their mother even tho they hated her#greek mythology#ancient greek mythology#greek pantheon#perseus#andromeda#cassiopeia#Perseus and andromeda#princess andromeda#Cepheus#Cetus#nereids

hhhhhh I need to properly reread Percy jackson again. This post brought to you by the fact I was about to make a post about a scene I very vividly remember of Will Solace trying to convince Pollux not to keep fighting with his good arm broken before Percy manages to convince him not to bc he promised Dionysus, then thought to myself "huh maybe I should fact check that- I mean I did also convince myself that Travis stoll died in this battle when he actually just went to college." And guess what? That scene ✨️didn't happen.✨️ Pollux was trying to convince Percy to let him rejoin the fight very half heartedly, while propped against a tree, and Percy was just like "hmmmm... no"
#Can you blame me tho.#SO much was going on in that book. It was literally JUST that battle and over the course of like 3 days#Here's some I found while skimming my copy of tlo for the scene in question:#Nico trying to rescue/ speak to his mum ft. Hades being a really shitty person (& shittier father)#Rachel's family helicopter almost crashing#Percy having a conversation with may castellan#Luke very belatedly realising “hm maybe I shouldn't give complete control of my body and mind to kronos”#This one random half-asleep demigod Percy runs into at one point that might’ve been Clovis? The demigod was said to be 12 tho-#So maybe his brother?#Prometheus shows up and gives Percy Pandora's jar#Percy getting thrown in prison by Hades and STRANGLES NICO FOR BRINGING HIM TO THE UNDERWORLD????#nico sends the guards to sleep tho so yay dream powers from his dad#And then Achilles's ghost shows up and basically just goes “are you fucking stupid or something. Why would you want my curse”#Chiron brings the party ponies to fight (they got drunk on rootbeer instead)#I think literally the only things from this book I accurately remembered were#1. Michael Yew convinces Percy to destroy a bridge while he's still on it#2. Annabeth moves to protect Percy's weak spot before she even knew where it was#3. One of Silenus's brothers dies and grover gets to be part of the council#4. Silena regrets being a spy and steals clarisse's armour to fight a drakon#5. Clarisse is PISSED that she did something so stupid and kills the drakon with her father's blessing#6. The fact Percy and Luke actually managed to converse during the Final Battle tm and Luke told Percy his weak spot#7. Ethan is a character who existed and then died. He was the son of Nemesis#Hm actually that's a lot more than I thought#But again there are Things happening in this book and there are Many Of Them and most of them are pretty fucked up actually.#anyway#pjo#Something something how is this a kids book etc

bianca should have lived. or even better she should have been introduced earlier so her death could be more meaningful
#her and nico were unclaimed campers during the lightning thief#then she joins the sea of monsters quest in some way#she’s friends with percy#she joins the hunters in the titans curse#percy feels betrayed for him and nico#they both realize in some way she’s a daughter of hades (maybe she was hiding it)#during the quest she learns to separate herself from just being an older sister#then she dies.#a tragedy#nico won’t fully blame percy because he’s known him for longer and they would have a nice brotherly bond#or maybe nico does blame percy#“she was your friend”#i think it would have been interesting#bianca di angelo#percy jackson#nico di angelo#pjo#percy jackon and the olympians

Hey hey why doesn’t Luke hate hades instead of Hermes if hades didn’t curse the spirit of the oracle then may wouldn’t have gone insane
I dont think Luke actually knows that part tbh?
Hell, Chiron even says that they didnt know why the Oracle wasnt working, Percy only finds out in a dream (i think its a dream?)
#wolffox speaks#pjo#percy jackson#luke castellan#Luke has an excuse of blaming Hermes for May because he doesnt know#the fandom does not have an excuse for blaming Hermes for May. As i hope the fandom can read (not directed at u)#pjo hades#Hades pjo
