toysofdukeness deleted their cc/wiped their patreon and i just wanted to say, the impact that early access content has set for the sims (particularly sims 4) community has once again showed how much of a disappointment it is altogether. whether it's trackers in downloads, doxing people, broken/uninspired sets and now stealing other people's free content... to the point where we drive a member who has been here for a very long time... something's eventually got to give but it's exhausting seeing the lack of accountability of these creators time and time again. please don't give these people your money. it's unfortunate that we have to call them out on their bs. however it's incredibly clear that a lot of ea creators have no integrity and will truly do anything to make a quick buck

read smth in a fanfic that was sooo bruce wayne and i need to write it.

he panicked, which is surprising becuz bruce wayne never panics. batman can never panic. but as you continued talking, “…moving… crazy bat-guy… riddler… apartment…” he could hear his heart beat faster and louder. you stand in front of him at the front door, delivering the awful news.

he chokes, his hands grip the handle of the door, “you could stay with me.” desperation dripping from his voice. he couldn’t lose you not after everything.

“wayne manor isn’t safe, bruce.” you sigh. “i mean, look at alfred…” you pause, looking up to the sky for a moment, “if it wasn’t for him, you would be dead, bruce.” your voice wavers and you pat bruce’s arm. “my apartment is under water and my family is in the midwest, it just makes sense to leave.” he watches tears start to leak out of your eyes as you pat his arm. his vision blurs and his ears ring as you start to turn.

no, you can’t. bruce lashes out, grabbing your arm, pulling you back to him. he watches your eyebrows furrow in anger and you start to pull, but he was faster. the needle was quickly jabbed into your neck and your jaw drops in surprise. bruce watches as your eyes droop close and quickly cradles you to his chest as you lose consciousness.

“master bruce?” alfred’s concerned voice comes from behind him. he turns his head to see alfred’s eyes on your unconscious body. “i assume they weren’t here for any good news?” his guardian deadpanned.

bruce purses his lips at alfred’s snark, “i… they were going to leave, so i-” alfred raises a hand to cut him off.

“i shall get a room ready. do be careful bringing them upstairs.” alfred finishes with a curt nod, giving you one last pitying glance before walking off.

bruce looks down at you, slumped against his chest. he holds you closer, burying his face into your neck. “fuck.”

Eddie and Steve only break up once. It’s not because of a fight or a disagreement. There’s nothing nefarious about it but it isn’t quite a mutual decision either.

They break up at Steve’s request for a night so he can properly commiserate with Robin about being single.

He felt like he can’t accurately discuss her feelings and feels badly about giving her advice that he can’t even fathom anymore, not since falling in love with Eddie. As her bestest friend and the co-owner of their shared brain cell, he decides to fully support Robin by being single with her for a night.

He plans on going to gay bars with her, hyping her up as the best single wingman he could be, and commiserating the impossible dating scene with her. That’s not quite what happens though.

Instead of having a fun night out on the town as single queers in the big city, Steve spends the night wrapped up in Robins arms under a fluffy blanket on the couch wailing about not being loved anymore and Eddie breaking up with him.

Robin very much thinks it’s real, very much hates Eddie for approximately 14 hours for breaking Steve’s heart and comforts Steve to the best of her ability. She even watches sucky rom-coms with him and listens to Tears for Fears on repeat.

They cuddle together on the small couch in their apartment, loving each other and scolding Eddie in solidarity. Robin spews words of anger towards the dumbass metalhead that decided to break her best friend’s heart so callously on a random Friday night. And for no reason as well! Blasphemous in her mind.

She stews quietly all night and much more loudly when she and Steve are awoken to Eddie bringing them coffee and waffles from their favorite cafe down the street.

When she finds out that they only broke up for the night and it was very much not real, Robin is absolutely furious and makes them take her to a Blondie concert in revenge. It’s the least they can do after stressing her out so much in just one night. Deep down though, she’s happy it wasn’t real because she can see how happy they are together, if not the stupidest people she knows.

I'm so mad that post was misinformation because there is actually an EXTREMELY important conversation to have about the production schedules artists are forced into. There's no need for exaggeration, the conditions are bad.

I work for webtoon. My publication schedule is weekly. While publishing I'm required 10-15 pages a week. Fully colored.

This means I'm finishing a 150 page fully colored graphic novel every 10-15 weeks.

When my comic is not updating, I am not getting paid. Any time writing, editing, or off is out of my own pocket. I don't get healthcare. They do not provide any assistants. They expect me to promote myself; they chose to deprioritize me before I even launched and gave me an end date half a year in. I never had a chance.

And this is the industry standard! Every company has artists forced into crunch hours, overtime, and burnout. Artists are literally dying early due to it. So many of my friends can't afford to go to the doctor.

It's unsustainable and untenable, and it's also the expectation our audiences have.

If we want to have this conversation, there's plenty of conversation to be had with the realities of the situation. It's bad as is.

"Illinois will become one of three states to require employers to offer paid time off for any reason after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a law on Monday that will take effect next year.

Starting Jan. 1, 2024, Illinois employers must offer workers paid time off based on hours worked, with no need to explain the reason for their absence as long as they provide notice in accordance with reasonable employer standards.

Just Maine and Nevada mandate earned paid time time off and allot employees the freedom to decide how to use it, but Illinois’ law is further reaching, unencumbered by limits based on business size. Similarly structured regulations that require employers to offer paid sick leave exist in 14 states and Washington, D.C., but workers can only use that for health-related reasons.

Illinois employees will accrue one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours total, although the employer may offer more. Employees can start using the time once they have worked for 90 days. Seasonal workers will be exempt, as will federal employees or college students who work non-full-time, temporary jobs for their university.

Pritzker signed the bill Monday in downtown Chicago, saying: “Too many people can't afford to miss even a day's pay ... together we continue to build a state that truly serves as a beacon for families, and businesses, and good paying jobs.”

Proponents say paid leave is key to making sure workers, especially low-income workers who are more vulnerable, are able to take time off when needed without fear of reprisal from an employer.

Bill sponsor Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, a Peoria Democrat, said the bill is the product of years of negotiations with businesses and labor groups.

“Everyone deserves the ability to take time off,” she said in a statement. “Whether it’s to deal with the illness of a family member, or take a step back for your mental health, enshrining paid leave rights is a step forward for our state."

“This is about bringing dignity to all workers," she said at the signing."
