I must say, Kdramas and Cdramas have a quality that I can only describe as love for men. I've seen more shades of men in a handful of them than the 100s of American shows I've seen. It's not like they achieve this by degrading women. The women are just as important and well rounded as the men but I... I really don't know how to describe this other than they love men. As they are. Not the ideal man, just all shades an varieties of men. It's refreshing.

Hi, do you have any good noona romance recommendations? For reference, I've watched and loved What's up fox, Once Again (Gahee × Hyoshin), Pretty Noona, A Witch's Love. I'm craving a good, old- fashioned noona romance with a cute young man and a happy ending. Thanks!!

Witch's Love was super cute so I have to add it to this of course ;-)

Cute Noona Romances

Witch’s Romance: A totally cute noona romance between a successful 39 year old reporter and a 25 year old jack-of-all-trades (played by Park Seo Joon!). Their chemistry is off the chain you guys, and their first kiss is iconic to me. 

Search: WWW: I always say that if you want to watch powerful women in suits having noona romances, this is YOUR drama. It's true that some of the workplace stuff is a little over the top but I mean, it's a k-drama! It features my favorite lady of all time (Scarlett - my wife my love) and the couples are GORGEOUS.

Run On: This drama is where I started stanning Kang Tae Oh. He is legit my dream man archetype in this drama (bisexual artist!) and he falls for an older woman though he is part of the secondary couple. But also it's just a super amazing, very cute slice of life drama.

Reunited Worlds: I’m very aware that this drama is not popular and was not well received (due to the acting chops of the second lead) but I loved it. A high school teen (Yeo Jin Goo) is killed and through k-drama ghost magic nonsense, comes back 12 years later and finds his first love, now much older than him. This is an unusual noona romance because the leading lady is NOT successful in her work when they start their romance. It was a very beautiful love story though (oh Yeo Jin Goo how do you DO IT!), and I enjoyed the melo moments mixed with total cuteness. I laughed, I cried :) 

Crash Course In Romance: An uptight Math professor falls in love with an older women who runs a banchan shop. Really amazing characters! I think it falls off track a little toward the end (as most kdramas do lol) but it's still very much worth watching for the main couple.

Romance Is a Bonus Book: A pretty easy and cute drama about a woman who works at a book publishing company who falls for a younger guy that has liked her since childhood. The issue with this drama honestly is that the second lead is SO AMAZING. But whatever, it's a simple watch.

Forecasting Love and Weather: If I'm honest, I can't remember a ton about this drama and I do remember it not being amazing overall. But if you want a workplace slice of life with really lovely and mature romance in the beginning (I don’t mean mature like “sexy times” but like, this couple is soft and communicates and it's definately a noona romance!) you might really enjoy this drama. How it ends though? It's left my brain yall!

Encounter / Boyfriend: A heartfelt and gorgeously filmed romance between a sucessful but emotionally damaged hotel CEO and a soft boy she met in Cuba. Their relationship is not perfect but you’ll fight for them because of how dang soft they are. 

One Spring Night: If you enjoyed Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food but wish it was a little less depressing, I present One Spring Night. A romance between a single dad and a girl who comes into his pharmacy. It’s one of those more realistic toned dramas and has a very specific slower moving pace. I'm not sure if they say it's a noona romance but the leads have an irl age gap.

Below is one of my favorite Noona Romances. I can't say this one has a "happy ending" but it's an interesting ending and 100% worth watching if you can handle the stress ;-) Awarded Most Passionate Noona Romance by me!

Secret Love Affair: There really is no other k-drama like this one: A dark and serious  love story between an older women working in a music univerity, and a gifted pianist. The chemistry between Yoo ah In and Kim Hae ae is really intense and unique. This is the moment that I fell for Yoo Ah In as an actor (I’d seen him in other things but this one was the clincher). It’s a very stressful drama with a slow pace and and a very distinctive soundtrack. It wasn’t my jam but I’m glad I saw it!
