Started playing Path to Nowhere. Here's my main team after a few months of on-and-off grinding IF YOU EVEN CAREEEEE!!!!!! /j

Biancaaaa!!! Her event was the one playing when I first started. SHE'S SO COOL!!! Her special attack thing is so neat with the camera. I love her personality but don't like her design that much. Not because it's bad but because she looks WAY too much like my mom XD

EMP!!! She's cool. Literally MVP, she's been here since the start. I love how big her ego is. No place in Syndicate is big enough to hold it. In terms of battle power she's good. She has such a long range cuz of her bow and arrow and it has saved my ahh in battle SO MANY TIMES!!! She's so reliable!! I want to see her and Wendy interact again. I've connected with that one line of dialogue she dropped about Wendy at the start of the game HEHEHEHE

Also does her name stand for something? I dunno.

The doctor has arrived. AHHH DOCTOR IRON!!!! I did her interrogation and she's so neat. Her relationship with Anne is so tragic though, at least as I see it. Under better circumstances they could be happy together urghhhhhhh... NGL I had trouble understanding the SALVA part of the story but from what I remember... she like... was under the influence of Mania but suppressed it to try and keep helping at the hospital?? I think??? I'm gonna re-read it but that's what I remember. Correct me if I'm wrong. If she's really that selfless WOAH what a cool gal. And that scene with Ted actually had me shivering in my timbers.

Luvia Ray! Cool name. I actually don't know anything about her yet. In terms of story, I'm only up to the part with us and Zoya fighting the inheritance so idk if she comes up in the main story like EMP and Iron do. She's funny though. And her special move is crazy good.

I thought he was Zoya when I pulled him and was so sad, but HEY IT'S SOMETHING SO?? Overall, I don't know much about him. I really only skimmed his profile. Though I love having this big edgy guy on a team full of baddies. I imagine he'd be like... sad uncle of the group. He's my frontline fighter under most circumstances cuz of his special move thingy. I like his boots. I WANT THEM!!! I'm curious to what happened to his nose tho. Wanna do his interrogation soon.

WENDYYYYY!!! She was my fav from the start when she arrived at the function with a chainsaw. At first I had a surface level connection with her, being "ooo crazy chainsaw girl :3!" but then I did her interrogation and actually cried at the ending scene with her backstory. She deserves to love and be loved and be happy. WENDYYY!!!

I love this team!!! I wanna trade Luvia and maybe EMP out for Nino and Cinnabar but this is the wrap right now. ARGH IM STARVING FOR RESOURCES!!!

If I had to think of a current top ten...

10. Elise - Underwritten, but time has shown us that she wasn't a bad character. '06 wasn't her fault, and Sonic's utilization in the overall plot aside, I like their dynamic together. Her design is also very nice when it doesn't have to abide by the game's overt realism.

9. Shahra - I was indifferent to her for the longest time since aside from Erazor's abuse, I didn't think much about her otherwise. Then all of a sudden, I warmed up to her starting from last year, as I've grown to appreciate her friendship with Sonic... though TBH, I have the Toll Girl indoctrination to thank for this shift in perspective.

8. Marine - If you didn't say shit about Bunnie's accent, you're not allowed to complain about Marine's. She's loads of fun, I don't care what anyone in 2007 said.

7. Cream - My favourite speedrunner. With a smile on her face.

6. Blaze - I'm sorry you've been used by Flynn and Co to downplay the other females, you don't deserve to be weaponized like that. Blaze is more than just a disposable Strong Female Character template... and more importantly, she's a cat.

5. Heavy Magician and Heavy Rider - They're both members of the Hard-Boiled Heavies, and as we know, all five of them are Sonic and the Peak Fiction, so I can never mention one in isolation. I like to headcanon that Magician rhymes her sentences, Gruntilda-style.

4. Tikal - She's worth more than the million Whogivesashit the Echidnas in Archie put together. Also associated with Chaos and SA1 as a whole, so y'know.

3. Ariem - I can't justify why an Android-only character is this high up beyond "I just think she's neat". :P Her design is so pretty, and I really like her chemistry with each of the characters... I wanna see more of her (as long as she doesn't get IDW'd)... :<

2. Rouge - She was my #1 Sonic female for so long, and I still love her now. Playful, flirty, smarter than she lets on, and bound to have your back despite her jewel thievery. Just like with Blaze, there's more to her than being able to fight, and if you believe the existence of boobs negates her character, then I don't trust you with female characters in general.

1. Trip - After thinking it over more extensively, I concluded that my unapologetic bias for kindhearted shy ladies wins again, because I'm such a predictable bastard. Can you blame me though? She's cute. :3 She's nice. :3 She's dragon. :3

I redesigned my TD OCs. So I made a little evolution of all their designs. Part 1/2

Alex

The Attention Hog didn't have many changes. He stayed consistently orange but other things changed.

His beach-y look got more stylish and his hair got more swept back and changed in color.

He's still desperate for attention. That never changes.

Augustus

The Religious Do-Gooder didn't have many design changes but he certainly changed in concept.

Originally he was just a religious guy that went wild during the show. Feral!Auggie got dropped in favor of making his arc a bit more serious.

He's still a sheltered religious kid but his journey of learning about the real world will be taken a lot more serious instead of making him a joke.

Cherry

The Competitive Dancer barely changed. She only had one design before this and all that changed was making her a bit more modest. And adding some green.

Not much to say about her otherwise. Except some new additions to the cast will change her story arc a bit.

Darla

The Visionary had a big and very noticeable change in her 2nd design. The moon afro has become her signature look and the main reason I don't wanna draw her from the side.

Her outfit also got more darker in color. Which make the lighter part of her outfit stand out more.

Diego

The Zoologist is a design I haven't shown off before. Because originally he and his sister would be newcomers in a 2nd season.

Also not much to say about his redesign. Just cleaned up the original.

Personality wise he's a peacekeeper, he loves animals and is basically the team leader. He's also a bit of a neat freak but he tries not to be obnoxious about it. Tries.

Finn

The Workaholic got a lot less saturated as time went on. He's duller colors reflect how much passion he has for all his jobs. Not much.

His hair got cleaned up, the uniform less cluttered, a new shade of blue. And his stubble got more youthful. He's only 18. He doesn't need to look like he's in his 30s.

Flo

The Rebel Rocker based on Floyd Pepper from The Muppets!

Her outfit kept looking more pirate like so I just leaned into it. I made it her brand. Her hair also got longer with her bangs supposed to resemble Floyd's mustache.

Gabriel

The Pretentious Goth also has only 2 designs. And the redesign looks a lot cleaner then the original.

Darker colors, refined his outfit, a bigger hat and restyled hair makes a world of difference despite the similarities.

His opinion of you hasn't changed tho. He still thinks you're below him.

Isa

The Botanist is the 2nd half of the Globetrotting siblings. Unlike a certain other pair of siblings, Diego and Isa have a much healthier relationship. They're still competitive af tho.

Her design didn't change too much. Her colors did however. The dark orange looks better next to Diego's blue and makes her stand out more in the cast overall.

Now she may not look like it, but this gal is the Owen/Sugar/Ripper of the season. She's a total slob and it drives her brother insane. Not that she ever listens to his complaints. Or other people's complaints. She's a handful.

Janus

The Hippie bases on Janice from the Muppets!

Like his inspiration he had some prominent lips that got removed in the 2nd design. But were brought back in the new design. His pink also got softer.

His name however was the thing that changed the most throughout his development. Starting with Jason to Jonas to finally Janus. Which is pronounced basically the same as Janice.

I've been having a lot of fun redesigning them all. I hope you all like them as well.

In honor of Pride Month, here's a rapidfire ramble about my OCs' orientations and how those and their actual preferences play off with their personalities and shape key moments of their story. Bonus context for my hc on queerness in Tyria.

Aurelia Dragonwings - Pansexual homoromantic Girls are pretty. I mean, boys are neat too, but she only ever had eyes for Ardea and later on Ellara, and that clear preference never had her experiment with the other side. The one and only experience she had with a guy was with her best friend Obsius, specifically when Ardea wanted to have a cub and she took one round "just to try it", only to end up having a cub as well (Adamas is an oopsie baby, yes). In general, labels are very confusing to her and the topic of romance held a lot of grief for years, so she would avoid answering any question on the matter, but if someone were to ask her friends, they'd just say she "doesn't know she's lesbian for someone".

Adamas Crystalsoul - Pansexual He's a pretty boy with great pedigree and had waves of people interested in him, but in the fahrar he was too focused on becoming Legionnaire to entertain childhood crushes, and then his heart got snatched away by Maeveryl before he even considered romance an option, still recovering from the loss of his would-be warband. Countless hearts got crushed by the fact that the Pact Commander's son was open about dating a sylvari and being loyal to them, yet Deryn somehow managed to woo the guy (only because Maeveryl sometimes quite literally pushed him towards her). Overall he has a feminine and androgynous preference, though like his mother he never had a proper chance to explore romance with guys.

Tocchix - Demisexual panromantic (trans guy) He spent most of his teenage years feeling sort of inadequate for romance because he never felt "the full pull" towards anyone (not helped by the comparison to a serial crush-haver like Fynn, his best friend in Lion's Arch), so he preferred to focus on training hard and join the Order of Whispers, figuring that it'd be a problem for his older self. Terrible at picking up on flirting attempts and needing to have it very slowly and clearly spelled out for him, he missed a ton of chances with many, and that was not helped by the fact that when he falls for someone, he becomes the definition of devotion, not seeing anyone else even to his detriment. He only ever fell for Iotta, Poffi and, many years later, Huki.

Maeveryl - Panromantic asexual (non-binary) While they are pan, they do have a strong preference for masculinity, or better, a general aversion towards feminine behavior and appearance. They had their first experience with romance with their saplinghood best friend, Morwen, and they quickly figured out femininity wasn't really for them, both for their own body and in a partner. After that, they only had another experience that ended bitterly, and then Adamas became their heart. Years later, when Deryn joins their relationship with Adamas, they don't share romantic feelings for each other, though they quickly become quite platonically affectionate with each other.

Ellara Echodancer - Homosexual Just lesbian. Girls gals girls. Only women of all kinds. She's totally not a hot mess, because she's got rizz and isn't afraid to use it, even just to have a little innocent flirty fun that totally isn't a distraction.

Hel Ravenlost - Homosexual G g girls... pr... etty... Don't worry, after losing Sieran without having been able to tell her how she felt for years, she does get better at not completely hiding her feelings. Luck isn't on her side, but third time's the charm, I swear!

Bunnie - Pansexual demiromantic (non-binary) She likes to sleep around, so anyone willing and compatible (both personality-wise and physically) is fair game for her to have a little no-strings-attached fun. As for the romantic side, I elaborated on it a bit here, but in short she does want romantic relationships and isn't afraid of showing the kind of interest in others that could lead to that, but she always had issues with developing feelings of the romantic kind and having them last, so she tends to coyly hide behind a bit of an emotionally-nonchalant facade until she feels safe to love someone.

Ethanryel - Asexual aromantic (agender) Just never felt anything of either kind of attraction, and that's very much fine for them. Bunnie once explained queerplatonic relationships to them, but that ended up being a sore point for them. The closest thing to that could have been their bond with Grace, a Zephyrite gal who had taught them a lot about healing and voiced for them to join the Zephyrite on their last travel. She had a pretty evident crush on them yet she was the first that didn't make them uncomfortable, but before they got to talk about anything of that matter, she was mortally wounded in the crash in Dry Top, and they never forgave themselves for not having been able to save her. Years later, when Aurene branded their arm to save them, Ethanryel took the title of Grace of Aurene in memory of their friend.

Deryn - Pansexual Gender doesn't matter to her, if one is a nice and hot charr, they're a nice and hot charr. Probably if Mae were a charr she'd have made a move on them as well, but after the initial fascinated curiosity towards the very concept of sylvari, only strong platonic feelings towards them are left.

Markus Blake - Bisexual Due to his parents being in a queerplatonic relationship and being told since really young that he'd have assured the freedom to choose they nearly didn't get (Nora and Lionel were childhood best friends who married each otherso that they could have the kid they both did want and be done with further family expectations, with her being lesbian and him aroace), he never really thought much of romance, thinking he'd just know when he found "the one". When he met Kai, he thought he'd found that one and hoped she'd eventually return his feelings for years, failing at being clear with her about it while ignoring what he felt towards Fynn, the best friend he had found at the same time. It took him a while, but, by what felt just short of divine intervention, he eventually figured out that the "one" was actually "two".

Nari - Bisexual homoromantic Gals is where it's at. She does find feminine people hot in general and had a few experimental flirts across the gender spectrum, but proper relationships are something she knows she wants only with gals. She believes that such kind of strong confidence in her own ideas was what caught Hel's attention in spite of not being norn, not realizing that Hel prefers non-norn until much later.

Iotta - Pansexual demiromantic Her opinion of romance is that it sucks, like all that comes with it. Sure, people can be hot in ways that make sense from a biological standpoint, but for her whole life she couldn't imagine willingly being in a relationship, because everyone else is grossly incompetent and, at best, more annoying than what she could deal with on a daily basis. Being in a relationship with a dork like Tocchix only confirmed that she hates it, because that kind of implicit vulnerability and distracting fondness for someone else goes against everything she knows to be safe, and she utterly despises the fact she wants more of it and that she played herself into it by getting that brilliant idea of manipulating him in the first place. And then being "left behind" shattered any positive perception of romance nearly irreparably, and it drives her mad that she can't get that yearning blade out of her heart so it can rot in peace. So yeah, romance sucks, and it sucks that she fell for it that one time.

Poffi - Demisexual biromantic Growing up in a small krewe that was part of the same polyamorous pod for years and that treated her like their own progeny, she was exposed to plenty of relationship examples, so she thought she had a pretty clear idea of what she was like by the time she left home to join the Order. Sadly she never got the chance to test her theories due to her general insecurities, and she also missed the pretty important part where maybe some girls can be just as romanceable as guys. (hey, at least AU!Poffi gets to go through quite the poly rollercoaster)

Daunte Burstspell - Homosexual He's a simple charr: he liked his guys hot like his fire, and life was not a little fun without the risk of burns. Verge was his flame since childhood, and they openly shared their warmth with many others. Daunte continued doing so after losing him, and even though it was never the same, he did genuinely care for the young norn he so gleefully annoyed to no end.

Hagan Wesson - Pansexual Forced to run away from Hoelbrak and break up with his childhood sweetheart, Gretna (Hel's sister), he eventually tried to get over it in some way, and ended up having some... positively revealing experiences. Swinging for years between times where he wanted to enjoy himself without attachment and others where he tried to ignore everything else to focus on his duty in the Vigil, after Daunte's death he's been more open about enjoying other people's company, and eventually ended up being reunited with Gretna after he had already settled with Flom.

Flom - Pansexual Good thing he likes everything and is quick to like others, because he genuinely believed "beggars can't be choosers" for the longest time. Even better thing, he now has people he likes and who chose him first (and a demon in his head who regularly calls him out on bs he should unlearn).

Zehmik - Homosexual (masculine non-binary) Guys are just neat, sorry gals. Lost count of how many flings he entertained during his years in the Mist War, always keeping feelings at arms' length due to the risky nature of their situation and a heartbreak he never recovered from. The occasional experiment only confirmed his very serious case of gay gay homosexual gay.

Edraas Noiza - Asexual aromantic (?) Due to being a highly experimental hybrid, its body is a biological mess that may have yet to fully mature and its perception of emotions is different from that of all other sentient species, so the concept of romance or anything of that nature is downright alien to it.

Lenorey - Asexual ?romantic She doesn't really get what the big deal about romance is, not beyond just preferring someone's company over others', while sex is just an activity that can be fun. In general she cared more about getting high off of toxins, so it's all of little interest to her. Now, finding a weird little asura that is literally toxic, gives you more toxins as part of the experiments she asked to perform on you, and you get just a little bit high when you kiss her? Maybe that's what love feels like.

Do they come from a big family/are they a family person? she does come from a big family but they are not close. her parents (edgar and charlotte) aren't at all close with their parents or siblings because of edgar and charlottes nefarious ways... Sophia does have an older brother (henry) who she used to be close with before running away from home, she didn't tell him where she was going but he always had a feeling she went to elowen. soph is overall a huge family person though!

8. What animal represents them best? she would say a fluffy white cat and honestly it makes sense?

9. What is a smell that they dislike? she doesn't like any wood scents, she's much more of a florals and fruity kinda gal

14. Do they have any hobbies? photography and fashion! she's very talented with the piano and violin but after being made to play so long by her parents she doesn't have much love for it anymore. she still plays violin from time to time though

which Halloween unit would you recommend to pull for the most

Getting to this a little late but let's go. It's kind of hard to say that one is objectively the best so I'm just gonna quickly go through each one and talk a lil about them.

Okay so we got uhhh Vampire Kanagi, Sister Momoko, Halloween Alina & Karin, Dark Mitama, Dark Kanagi, and now Vampire Yuna & Juri.

Sister Momoko: Right away I can say that Sister Momoko is probably the worst option here. There are better charge conservation girls out there, even including unlimiteds. Even for plain old damage dealing, you can do better.

Vampire Kanagi: When she came out she was one of the best, and now she's more midtier compared to her competitors. However I don't think she's a bad unit and she can allow for fun solo strategies.

Halloween Karin & Alina: Kinda just got powercrept by Yuna & Juri for magia flame damage, but I think they' still serve a decent purpose. A few things on they're still fine-ish. They should give good flame magia damage, it's just they don't instantly get MP on turn 1/2 like a lot of new units do. Their Dazzle stuff gives them a way to increase damage by attacking the enemy's defenses and not just endlessly increasing offensive buffs on themselves, but I was kinda surprised to see that they don't have a passive source of addict killer on them. But if you want a good flame magia unit, you'll want to get the newer halloween girls.

alright the last three are the ones you'll probably be the most interested in rolling for.

Darkness Kanagi: Great for solo mirrors if you don't have a blaster already and good for murdering most content/farming. She's a complete powerhouse and very good at what she does. IMO getting her depends on what kind of units you already have. If you have a 4s Ashley or something like that, you can skip.

Darkness Mitama: The queen of ranked mirrors. If you want to do well in ranked, you'll need her. She can help in pve content but in more limited ways-- for example, she helped me in Battle Museum against a few enemies but there's usually better gals to use out there. She's one of the best pvp supports basically and an interesting unit overall.

Vampire Yuna & Juri: Well right away we can go ahead and say that this'll be one of the best flame magia gals in the game for a while, especially for the new Kimochi coming out. She'll (probably?) have an edge over Gunhild thanks to their random attack pattern, meaning that she can hit the same enemy multiple times.

However, one thing that sets them apart slightly is that sooo much of their damage is wrapped up in their attack up at critical health, and that is going to be a struggle occasionally. Let's take Kimochi right? You've got units like Madoka & Iroha or the newly released Scene 0 Madoka who will help with MP regen/restore. They're great for making sure you replenish mp to endlessly repeat doppels.

Except oops! MadoIro will also heal your team to full! And YuJu here can only damage their health once every 7 turns! Woops. Scene zero madoka will also heal your team! Guess you can't use her....

There are a bunch of units you still can use, like Mayu or Kuroe (or even OG Madoka) but Vampire Yuna & Juri mean you need to commit to your playstyle. Vampire Yuna & Juri also don't get a freshly applied barrier every time they doppel/magia, meaning you need to worry about them dying too. For reference, a Madoka & Iroha barrier on doppel will prevent 8k damage, and Vamp YuJu here will prevent 10k. That's still a lot but if you've ever used MadoIro before, you'll know that those barriers wear out faster than you think.

That said, I think they'll be a fantastic flame unit for Kimochi and stuff like Battle Museum (if we ever get it again) or Witches' Paradox (if we ever get that again). They've got a really interesting design for a magia unit and I think it's neat that the game made their gameplay sort of not quite match up with what we've had before-- you can't just stick them and MadoIro on a team together and think that things will work out all fine and swell.

So I can't really say you need to roll for any of them-- just that if you are missing spots in your catalogue of magical girls (farming blaster, ranked debuffer, or wtf flame magia damage), then the last released three are worth considering.

💖 Favorite movie?: honestly it's hard for me. But i love all the classics. But hunchback of Notre dame,beauty and the beast,sleeping beauty,snow white,mulan,and i know it's unpopular opinion but i loved pocahontas for two reasons. One i had zero to nothing for representation growing up knowing and having native background (now i might have better rep but again this was younger me) and two i just liked it face value. 📣 Which remake is the best?: honestly not many remakes and sequels of disney work. Some are ok but poorly executed.

I've always wanted to do a piece where I gave one of my OCs Smash Bros.-like palette swaps and alternate costume, and, well, here's one finally for Bangs!

A lot of these are references to older pieces no one except my friends have seen before, so you'll hafta check beneath the cut for explanations. If you want 'em, anyway. I'll also provide original art to show where the outfit first appeared, so enjoy how terrible a lot of it looked, like, five or six years ago

An obvious one, of course. This is her "iconic outfit;" the one I've drawn her in the most. I can't exactly recall anymore why I went with the Nirvana smiley logo in this one piece, or why it stuck, but whatever. At this point, I can't imagine Bangs without it.

Also, as you can see in the first outfit's appearance, I used to draw Bangs with a brown belt instead of a black one. This is something I did all the way until 2020 when I changed how I posed and art'd my characters.

First of all—gawd, my first few attempts at drawing non-stickfigures were so bad.

Secondly, this is the first outfit I ever drew Bangs wearing. Like the Nirvana smiley, I don't know why I went with the Beatallica. Maybe I was just listening to them at the time I was arting this, I don't know.

Aside from the brown belt, by the way, Bangs's shorts are obviously also a different color. This is, first of all, to help differentiate this palette more from the original, but also to reflect the frayed-end shorts she used to have.

This is an outfit a friend of mine randomly came up for Bangs when she drew Bangs this one time, and then I adopted as canon. It hasn't seen as much use lately, but I still like keeping it around.

This palette is based on an outfit I randomly came up with for Bangs for a Valentine's Day piece one year. That wasn't the first time I'd drawn Bangs wearing a green shirt, but it was the only time I'd drawn her wearing black pants. I didn't realize until afterwards how much it reminded me of Vicky from Fairly OddParents, and I guess that's why it stuck with me enough to wanna reference it here.

The text on Bangs's shirt ("HELP I'M A ROCK") is taken directly from the title of a song from The Mothers Of Invention's debut album Freak Out!.

The first time I ever drew Bangs digitally, she was wearing a Shy Guy mask, so here's an alt. costume based on the whole Shy Gals thing.

I've provided two images here as context: the original piece where she wears the masks, and then an OC birthday art from a year later referencing it where you can see Bangs wearing the hoodie without the mask so you can see her face.

Fun fact: the date I drew the original piece is Bangs's OC birthday, since I can't remember when exactly I originally came up with her beyond "winter 2011."

⏰️: If Chrysi and Jacks were friends as children, then she definitely would have met Gill then as well. Muse saw her hanging around Jacks and got curious, Chrysi probably caught her staring intently from behind stuff several times before and then Jacks walks away and later sees them playing together. He's like "what he heck? Since when did you hang out?" And he gets kinda jealous like Gill's stealing his friend from him. But Gill thought she seemed super neat and liked her spark; she also saw chrysi probably bossing around Jacks and knew they had to become friends as well. She probably wasn't sure how to approach her at first though since she might not want to befriend her, but she got the chance to do it not too long after Chrysi started hanging around. She definitely heard of Chrysi before meeting her; her brother kept blabbering about the girl he'd befriended like every day, lmao

🌼: She loves how much of a little devil Chrysi is. She likes passionate, expressive people, people who make her excited to be near especially as a fate when she's unable to feel the full range of her own emotions. On top of that, Chrysi is fairly creative and she loves that also. She admires Chrysi's confidence and thinks she's someone who's just interesting. She enjoys being around Chrysi and likes talking to her about things too.

🌹: First, who's idea was it because that sounds like a fucking shit show? Lmao. It quickly dissolves to a bitch contest between Dante and Jacks as they growl across the table; the gals are being pals while they have their dick measuring contest. However, if she wants to being Azure out then it's much more pleasant overall. Jacks AND Azure as Chrysi's two boyfriends, either Azure is able to dampen Jacks somewhat, or he's just having a pleasant outing with the girls next to the hostility 😂

Can't find the emoji, plane: They go out to theaters and museums together ! Also picnics, they can chat or read or paint pictures and stuff !

🔍: Gill can be helpful since she can create almost anything with magic, temporary as the items typically are. And I feel Chrysi would take charge of it; they'd kick ass together, lmao.

Pencil: A play just came out both girls wanted to attend. However, the tickets were all sold and they couldn't get seats; Gill could've used her sway as the fate representing inspiration to get them seats, but they both decided it'd be more exciting to find a more interesting way. Gill is familiar with all the theaters around them, and she used her knowledge as she and Chrysi snuck inside. They brought some food and drinks and watched the play from the rafters; Chrysi kept dropping stuff on people watching and they giggled whenever the audience members became confused by that. Honestly I can also seeing them making a regular hiding spot out of a theater's rafters, they have a whole setup there they go hang out at a lot lmao.

🎁: Books, art supplies, and Jewelry ! A bracelet like this is definitely something she would've given to her :)

also, this is THE first time ive ever drawn them. Clara and Alex came out a bit wonky but!!! overall what i imagined them to look like.

in my first ideas for them, they were all like... teenagers?? but then i realized as i grew up that what i imagined a teenager was actually just a college student. i used to think being 15 was OLD.

so!!! here we go. youre going to learn about them. :)

SALLY - she's the magic gal! her color is purple, and so is her magic. technically, they ALL have "magic", but she's more-so telekinesis and the stereotypical wizardry magic stuff. she's 19 years old and... has a HUGE crush on Seth. she's not exactly obsessive over him, however she'll get clingy if she hasn't seen him in a bit.

CLARA - she controls the oceans and rain... well, not really, but anything water is fair-game. she's 20, and is dating Leo. they're a chill couple, not flaunting any romantic stuff around while the others struggle with their love lives.

JULIA - she floats, she glides, she soars! Julia, i think, is the one i have the most "lore" for. she's 19, and has a rocky relationship with Alex. they've dated on and off.

SETH - he's an enigma, hiding in the shadows... he, basically, controls the "darkness". in broad terms, he does technically control light. he can make the shadows into solid objects, which is neat. he's 21, and very much dislikes how Sally keeps dropping hints about her crush on him... he's much rather just stay friends.

LEO - flame on! he controls fire, flame, and anything that sparks! he's 21, and is happily dating Clara. he's childhood friends with Alex, and sees the guy as his brother-from-another-mother.

ALEX - grounded in the earth, the roots take place... Alex controls the earth, stone, and minerals. he's 20, and has no idea what he's even doing with Julia, at this point. he's a bit baby-faced, being wrongly assumed to be a teenager.

aaand thats everything i have right now. well, for the metaphorical Season 1. there are 4 seasons, in my head (or 4 "acts", i guess?)

I wanted to draw them but my brain isn't letting me draw, so I'll describe them instead for now.

-The orange Cure looked kiiinda like the gal from the current series? Uhhhh Cure Butterfly, that's the one. Long ginger hair, outfit was kinda this mix of like, bright orange, dark brown, and a sorta soft tan colors? I don't remember the shaping too well, just that she had this weird sorta scarf/shawl thingy half-draped, half-floating over her shoulders? It behaved as though it was in zero-gravity even though she was otherwise moving normally.

-Personality-wise, she was sorta the comic relief member of the group, kind of clutzy and on the recieving end of a lot of slapsticky gags, (and her fighting method was along similar lines as Drunken Fist technique, minus the drunken part) but there was kinda this running vibe that she was partially intentionally playing it up? Like some of it was real accident, and then some of it was her leaning into that to make it funny, very class clown behavior. When she let herself slow down a bit and just vibe on her own, though, she was really gorgeous.

-The grey Cure was like, super tall. Kinda resembled uhhhhh looks something up Cure Moonlight? But with a ponytail hairstyle, and again, aside from her actual skintone, her dress was super monochrome in different shades of darkish grey, but despite this it somehow still looked very fittingly pretty and elaborate and precure-ish? Her hair when transformed had this subtle shimmery sparkling effect to it, sorta like metalflake paint almost. She also carried around a japanese straight sword when transformed, though she never unsheathed it.

-She was very stoic and emotionless a lot of the time, to the point that Orange joked about her being more robotic than the actual robots they were fighting, but in the chronologically later episodes it felt more like she just wasn't good at emoting. (The main shows of emotion being her despair when the fear MotW showed an illusion of her failing a test, and subdued, frozen panic when she got taken captive.) That being said, when I was looking at the album I saw tumblr posts theorizing she was an android without even realizing it and pointing out possible bits of foreshadowing.

-The purple Cure looked a lot like like Cure Macaron, minus the cat ears, beret, and general air of menace. Same exact hairstyle and face, but her vibe was a whole lot more like, wholesome, for lack of a better word? I saw less of her because she was absent from the first bit and not the focus for the rest, but still seemed neat. Kinda hung around Yellow a lot of the time and was (s)mothering her a bit. Though she was also responsible for dunking the hippo guy off the train in the last part, was like literally floating over him, grabbed him up in a hug, floated to the side and dropped him, like some sort of weird crane game with herself as the claw.

-The yellow Cure had like, a fluffy bob cut and a pair of short pigtails? Like Cure Pine but symmetrical. She was the physically smallest of the bunch, and fairly timid during the overnight (the fear MotW went after her by turning out the lights while she was washing her hands in the restroom) and in the gym class, but showed no signs of that during the actual fights, and probably got the most individual hits in. Seemed pretty content to let Purple fawn over her, but did seem to be getting a bit annoyed about it around the time of the discussion on the train before they got attacked.

-The pink Cure is kinda weird in that I don't remember what she looked like too clearly in comparison to the rest, even though I feel like she got a pretty solid amount of mental screentime overall. I think part of it was her hairstyle changing; sometimes she had it down and loose, sometimes it was in a long ponytail, and this was true of both transformed and civilian state. Also, had some blue in her transformed outfit that kind threw me off at first.

-With Orange being the more klutzy scattered one, she took more of a mature-for-a-kid vibe, not quite a natural leader but still doing her best and holding up pretty well, all things considered. Also while there was a lot of unsubtle subtext with the rest, she was like, explicitly canonically queer, had a couple pride pins on her student uniform, (trans and bi) had massive crushes on both Grey and one of the boys in their gym class, and her targeted illusion during the overnight episode was of the other students laughing at and shunning her for being queer, until the others broke through it and reminded her the actual students had long accepted her.

As for the villains, they seemed to be divided into like, three categories of robots.

-The original leader, his second-in-command secretary gal, and the mysterious newcomer were convincingly humanlike androids, aside from having silver metal with seam lines instead of skin. The leader even had like, a trimmed beard and moustache, and he and the secretary wore like, handsome business suits, and their black hair was very prim and dapper. (His very short, hers in a strict bob cut.)

-Also, the newcomer gal was dressed like... a sexy/punk cosplay version of a ninja, for lack of better phrasing; had like, fingerless gloves, a crop top over a fishnet shirt, short shorts, and thighhigh boots on. Despite all that, the framing always emphasized not the sexiness, but how menacing she was; with her constantly playing with knives and kunai between her fingers and smiling evilly, and all the other robots seemed just as scared of her as the Cures. She also shared Grey's sorta sparkly-metalflake dark grey hair color, just in a darker shade, which was interesting. She also had glowing tron lines appear in her seams when she took over the Cures' train.

-Meanwhile, the scouts who got sent out to the baseball field were very stereotypical/retro robots; bodies, heads, and feet were silver boxes, hands were crane game claws, and their limbs were thick black hoses. They all roughly averaged to about half the height of the Cures, through individual proportions among them were extremely varied and exaggerated.

-Also, they were of course wearing baseball gear in that episode, and my guess is if they showed up in the intervening episodes, they'd have other relevant costumes on. Somehow, though, nobody on the human side seemed to notice they were robots? Just treated them like out-of-place elementary-schoolers, so I guess there was some sort of illusion or hologram thing going on, or the unconvincing disguises were somehow effective.

-There were about six or seven of them and they bickered constantly, yet stayed together in a big clump. Very silly, very idiotic comedy act group, but also very ready to summon a monster and let it destroy stuff at a moment's notice, without any obvious signs of remorse.

-And then finally, there were the other inner circle robots, who seemed to be in a weird in-between state between the like, cartoon-robot style of the scouts, and the realistic-human-shape of the three androids, plus each one had an animal theming going on. (In general, they all talked a big game after the leader was gone, but still seemed obviously less intelligent than the secretary or the newcomer.)

-For example, the frog lady from the train had like, a humanlike head, with glasses and frizzy hair and a frog beanie hat. But then her neck was a rubber hose, and her body was kind of a round-top cylinder with metal armor layered to look like overalls, and she had hose-claw arms like the scouts... but then realistic legs again. Also when she attacked, the frog hat opened up like a lid, so the tongue-whip could come out of the top of her head.

Unfortunately, while the fairies were discussed, and one of them was on the train, I don't remember what they looked like at all.

Dreamed I started watching a new (entirely fictional) precure season on a whim. Quintet of girls, (though there was no blue Cure) and unusual emphasis on their high school, though I couldn't figure out a consistent theming. (Seemed to be sports at first, but then trains happened, so idk) The results:

It started with me watching an episode out of order, somewhere in the middle of their precure career, where four of the five were at school after dark, doing a sort of MotW-enforced test of courage as it forced them to face their various fears and the others supporting them through it, (discrimination and mockery for Pink, failure and disgrace for Grey, and darkness and isolation for Yellow) ending in the last girl (Orange) being completely unphased by whatever it showed her and kicking its ass.

The punchline; "Any humiliation you could throw at me doesn't matter when I already embarass myself every day!" As she wrapped it up in her scarf (which it like, drenched in some sort of gross goldenrod-colored grease or something?) and high-kicked it down a flight of stairs into the school basement, where it finally disappated in a burst of flame, taking the scarf with. Pink and Yellow still hugged her anyway, though. ^^

Then there was a rewind to like, the start of things, where the girls met in gym class. Orange, Grey, and Purple (the last gal who'd been absent in the prior bit) were seniors, while Pink and Yellow were a grade below them. Anyway, all five were chatting idly while taking a rest+water break from an indoor basketball game, and a disaster pentagon of one-sided crushes sprang up pretty quickly. (Orange was into Purple, Purple seemed to want to dote on Yellow, Yellow was into Pink, and Pink was utterly head-over-heels for Grey, who was barely aware she existed yet but seemed faintly amused by Orange's fumbling antics.)

From there, it went to the villains. The current leader was like, this android CEO guy in another dimension, sending subservient robots through to disguise themselves as humans and spy on people as like, the precursor to revenge on humanity for forgetting they existed. It was implied that the robots and pocket dimension were like, the result of either an advanced ancient civilization like Atlantis that had died out long ago, or these guys were from the future and didn't realize it, misblaming the present.

The guy was stressed because the first few attempts had already been foiled by the Cures separately, but his second-in-command suggesting he reconsider the plan wound up having the opposite effect of making him double down harder whoops.

Anyway, after the scouting team, poorly disguising themselves as baseball players, got shouted off the diamond outside the gym so actual students could play baseball, they decided to unleash the first(?) MotW. Only for the girls to immediately all transform and wreck its shit before it could even do anything, and the rest of the 'runtime' was dedicated to them basically doing that spiderman pointing meme at each other as they realized the others were all Cures too; first time seeing they weren't alone in having this power, since the prior incidents that had brought them on had all been in separate parts of the city.

Then it skipped forward again, to like, the start of the second cour's worth of episodes. The CEO guy, who'd seemed like the Big Bad at first, was just defeated last episode, and now his second-in-command and some other high-ranking androids were having a power vacuum struggle. A new android gal showed up out of nowhere to also throw her metaphorical hat into the ring, and suggested all those competing for leadership prove themselves (or get disqualified) by fighting the Cures directly.

Meanwhile, the team was in their new base, a single silvery steam engine (which seemed to have some space-warping shenanigans going on, the outside being fairly small but the interior being roomy enough for them to sit and have tea) chugging through a forest somewhere and wondering what to do now. They'd (seemingly) defeated the androids, but the fairies who'd given them their powers still needed help of some sort, their realm still kinda falling apart, so they were planning to go see if they could do anything about that.

(Also, this wasn't remotely hinted at in the dream, but thinking back now, kinda wondering if the fairies were actually the formerly-advanced civilization who had created and then abandoned the robots?)

But then before they could plan any further, the train came under attack; the androids had a sleek (if oddly flat-ish) train engine of their own, more Art Deco styled with glowing Tron lines, and a big open-air platform at the back, where a couple of the prospective new leaders were standing and launching attacks. One of them was a frog-themed android lady, and the other guy seemed to be themed around either a rhino or a hippo?

They seemed to be the weakest of the inner circle, and the Cures dealt with them pretty easily; hippo guy got dunked into a pond as the trains passed by it, (hopefully was waterproof lol) while one of the Cures (I think Orange, since the dream seemed particularly biased toward her) grabbed the frog-lady's tongue whip weapon and swung-and-flung her away using it.

But unfortunately, the mysterious newcomer android lady who had suggested this whole thing was secretly there too, and while the others were distracted, she ninja'd into the Precure train to commandeer it just as they left the forest behind for open fields. Worse, Grey was still driving that train, and so got taken hostage with a knife to the throat; leaving the last shot of the episode being the other four stuck on the robots' train as both it lost power and their own transformations timed out, watching the captive Grey being carried off into the distance.

This was episode ~14 out of the usual 52.

(I imagine they would probably rescue her soon, but there was still very much a vibe of status quo being rather unreliable this time around.)

Also, apparently one of the VAs they got for this series was also a singer, so taking a page out of Symphogear's book, they found ways to like, put in a bunch of like, grander broadway-tier songs for her to sing here and there along with the more typical pop-y OP and ED, so released an album after the first thirteen episodes, (with plans for three more to release as the season progressed) which I decided to listen to while going for a walk afterward. Can't remember too many specifics now, (just that the voice kinda made me think of Stack, who's sung for some vocal Touhou remixes) but I did really like it. Also, a faded-out picture of the Orange Cure's face was on the cover, again kinda interesting/unusual focus bias.

I’m back at it again but this time with the gals, while I did mention the possible inclusion of Ruby in the tags, looking through the characters I found just enough folk to fit. In any case, let’s begin with-

- Judit Minot is a nice case, I really like her sympathetic side, giving Harrier a chance when Jean wouldn’t, both at the start (or depending on when you do it) via Esprit De Corps after calling into your station and at the end with, again, Jean being angry at you. Fan-art really helps boost it all, just saying some of y’all really do that well;

- Neha is, just like Judit a nice character, she’s more of a lore character, world-building for the place you’re in. Personally speaking, I like dice, gives me nostalgia for y’know, the sound of double dice shaking in a closed hand? Yeah, that- Rambling aside, her theme is neat and honestly? I’d kinda just want to watch her make die;

- Soona Luukanen-Kilde is a programmer and former game-dev. This is just bias of me falling in love with a character just cause, but her whole thing of The Pale research was interesting, probably would’ve been more so if I actually passed the check, I think she’s lovely that’s it;

-  Lilienne Carter is a girl with a sword and just, we love that. If I’m being a bit more serious, I think her whole gig of being a lone fisherwoman who just, has a sword to “teach some men a lesson in manners” is overall cool, what’s a bit cooler is that she comes in later to assist you with getting on the island near endgame.
