hi i actually enjoy DID questions don't worry LOL and i'm in the mood rn

when most people think about DID they are usually thinking about very overt cases with very distinct alters with vastly different personalities, different names, gender identities, etc. while this is a popular angle to imagine DID, overt cases like that are actually a pretty small percentage of what DID tends to look like. (of course, social media can push people's presentation to become more overt, which isn't fake/bad or anything, humans are social animals and the way we interact with each other can affect even our mental illnesses. additionally some people will become more overt after receiving therapy while they start communicating with alters for the first time. but my point is DID is not usually that strikingly obvious)

this popular perception also leaves out a lot of the rest of DID which falls in line with what people consider more "typical" disorders, PTSD symptoms galore, dissociation/dissociative amnesia, somatic pains and illness, comorbid conditions and physical disabilities. i think if people had more of an understanding of the non-alter parts of DID, it would ground the disorder a lot more and make it a lot less "magical" seeming.

but overall it all comes back to like... people not understanding that DID is just an extension of PTSD and other parts-based disorders. the same psychological process that makes PTSD/C-PTSD happen, BPD, etc, is what causes DID, it's just pushed to a far extreme due to when the trauma is experienced (very early childhood) and other factors surrounding that trauma, such as the length of time the trauma occurred over, or whether or not the child had stable caregivers and/or relief from traumatic events. DID is not some sort of completely separate category of mental illness - alters (the DID definition of them) may be unique to DID, but they come from the same place a ton of other mental illnesses do and there's a ton of overlapping symptoms between DID and pretty much every disorder caused by trauma.

i often see people act like DID is some far off life experience they couldn't even fathom or imagine living with, but if anyone just actually explained this shit properly i'm pretty sure most people, especially traumatized people, would go "oh that makes sense" and not feel so estranged from it lol. it's really frustrating because people continuing to see DID as this sort of magical, far-off experience, takes the disability/disorder out of it in conversation about it (people can only ever seem to talk about alters) and it also usually ends up spreading misinformation at the same time. there's sooo much bullshit about DID out there. good grief. it even hurts other people with trauma-based conditions that aren't DID

edit: wait also btw OSDD-1 is included in this conversation, i'm just using DID as shorthand instead of typing DID/OSDD every time and i am personally diagnosed with DID so lol

but you're totally right- there's nothing other than the timing/when paul wears it and as near as i can tell, there's no source on it whatsoever, just people tinhatting. so we can't necessarily say it's Untrue, but it's a bit like speculating that they started a sexual relationship in hamburg or that x song was written about y... there's not much in the way of proving one way or another, unless paul comes out and says something different

with that SAID if someone says "john gave paul a bracelet" THAT'S definitely misinformation (intentional or not ofc). it's not fact. it's just a theory & i think somewhere that got a bit lost in translation? but anyway i'll break down what you mean by the timeline so others know wtf we're talking about here lmao

paul has/had a silver identity bracelet with his name on it. the theory goes that john gave it to him in paris or on paul's 21st bday & paul wore it on and off throughout his life

there's not much to back this up but there's also not much against it? so if you want to believe it that's fully your prerogative. me personally, i think it's a nice thought/headcanon and don't really Believe one way or the other, i just like the idea of it for like fics and shit

this is the source for the Main pic people use to show the inscription. these pictures were presumably take in late 1963 and published in october of the same year

which also means this one could be earlier as it's also from '63 and the Only place i can find it is on a 1993 trading card saying it was from a "1963 publicity shoot" but i can't find any other photos from the shoot or which shoot it was to tell you what month that was lmao

there's also this photo from his 21st birthday party with it, which is Probably the earliest of these two:

which I honestly think is the Most likely time he would've received it, whether from jane or john or whoever else.

and as for the Rest of the timeline i'm pulling from a now deleted post by @ swaying-daisies who seems to have deactivated or changed urls but here's the post anyway. you can see him still wearing it in the 70s, although he stopped wearing it around 1967 for a while it seems

i've seen people say that there's pictures of him from Before 1963 with the bracelet on, but i can't find them.

so the options come down to: it was a gift from jane, it was a gift from john, it was a gift from his mother, or it was a gift from one of his other relatives

a couple of reasons people doubt the jane aspect is that he continued to wear it into the 70s & then ofc people claim that he had it before he met her. i can't find any evidence of him having the bracelet before jane, so i take that with a grain of salt. i'd think for me personally the only thing discounting it from being from jane is the fact the he still wore it during anthology. if it were just the 70s, that might be hand-waved away because it can still take a bit to get rid of everything an ex gave you. but by anthology, he definitely would've been over it.

people also point to him being cagey and saying "let's just say it has close sentimental value" as a reason it's Not from jane, but honestly i don't find that very compelling because at the time of this letter he was still like. out as being with jane, but it was peak beatlemania when they were supposed to be appearing single & approachable. so if it was from jane, i don't think he'd say that here either.

the oooonly other point against it being from jane is simply that i've seen people assert they "know for a fact" that it's from jane because people had matching sweetheart bracelets back then- but she's never seen wearing one. but that's just against them having matching ones, i really don't know if she gave it to him or not.

i don't see any reason that it wouldn't be from a family member that's not his mom, though. if it were his mom, there definitely would've been photos of him wearing it long before 1963. so For Me it comes down to john or another family member. jane is also still a strong possibility to me, although like i said the anthology bit throws a wrench in that for me, unless that's a different bracelet completely. or who knows, maybe he got attached to it outside of her- i've definitely kept things from exes long after i give a shit about them if i'm being honest.

another piece people like to throw in is that in both of the photos of him wearing it after his and john's split, he's wearing it on his right wrist rather than his left, like a widower would if it were a ring. not convincing to me honestly, but it's a part of The Whole Theory/Headcanon bit

others also speculate it could be from ringo! ringo had a similar one and I wouldn't be too surprised if paul liked his so he got him one for his 21st. definitely An option to consider!

also, if anyone knows the exact date on that teeth brushing photo that would be lovely. or if anyone happens to have a photo of him with the bracelet from Before he met jane.

but yeah tl;dr: it's theory, if anyone says it's for sure fact they are misinformed or just really want to believe it. no one knows who gave paul that bracelet and i doubt we'll ever know, so have fun.

[ Detailed Thread ] I've seen lots of debate but here's lists of reasons why I personally think Wriothesley is visually impaired/blind to a certain degree and hope that he is :)

This is listed down based on my understanding/research so if there's anything wrong pls do correct me

Firstly we need to know the term 'Blindness', i know you may be wondering like , uh what? But a lot of people are quite misinformed of what being 'blind' is. Blindness is the inability to see or a lack of vision. Meaning that Blindness is a SPECTRUM. Each person's experience of blindness is unique. 93% of blind and vision-impaired people can see something. It is very rare for someone who is blind that cannot perceive anything at all. Some people may be blind in their peripherals - some in the center, some can see colours and blurs while others can perceive light and shadows better. It varies. A LOT. Quote from an article on Blindness and its spectrum. "These visual impairments don’t all work the same. Macular degeneration, erode the central vision without affecting peripheral vision. Narrowed field of vision- central vision is fine but the peripheral vision is limited. Others include photophobia (inability to tolerate light), diplopia (double vision), visual distortion, and difficulty with visual perception."

Ok so now we've made that clear- here's why Wriothesley being blind isnt as farfetched as you may think , with the way he is acting in the Fontaine trailer. 1) So i've heard everyone say that he is teasing Sigwienne, but let's just go back, why does Sigwienne - put the cute beverage in front of wrio in that manner? Why is she putting the taller cup in front of him where it's simply closer for him to reach for in the first place? You can argue that she did that so wriothesley takes it, but why not just hand it to him then? If you observe the scene - the tea was already there beforehand, which means wrio has either prepared it himself or has even already drunk from it and placed it there. He knows there is a 'cup' on the table. It could be very much logical to assume Sigwienne wanted wriothesley to mistakenly reach for the taller cup she placed there. There would be no point in deliberately placing the cup as if with the intention to 'trick' him into taking it if he could very well see her place it there.

2) The visible jolt of his hands when he hovers over the tall drink that sigwenne places there. And the CLOSING of his eyes, as if to concentrate. On what? Here we can tell the drink clearly looks like a cold beverage, so when his hands hover on top of the cup , it'll make sense to have a reaction based on the wrong temperature registered to his hands - as tea is hot. He glances to sigwenne after , as if amused, only to look back to rotate the smaller cup of his tea. And even when 'rotating' , his actions seem purposeful - carefully interacting w the cup with his hands draping around the handle before holding onto it. As if again, he's mostly feeling around it. If he were to see perfectly well, why would he close his eyes - hover around the tall drink, and seem to jolt by reaction of registering what the object is? His eyebrow even raises up. It makes less sense as - if he were intending to tease her, he'd simply hover alternatively between the two without interacting w them purposefully but instead focus more on the reaction of Sigwenne from the start - and not After he seemingly 'felt' what the glass he is reaching for firstly is not his own cup of tea, but the beverage Sigwienne wanted him to take. Also added point, if you really take notice, while touching and rotating the tea for its handle, his eyes are set straight, not towards the cup.

3) paper argument - again brings back to my point about blindness being a spectrum. Some blind people can read if they really focus and if the object was near enough, and even more that they just show him holding the paper, his eyes were never shown 'scanning' it. And furthermore, we are not SHOWN the paper, it could be braille for all we know. 4) but he looks at sigwienne first before she places the cup - again , blindness is a spectrum. Many blind people can register vague figures of people based on combinations of colour, light, and shadows or other ways depending on the individual. 5) Lyney's dialouge - as we know, genshin loves littering clues and symbolisms around in the trailers. Here's the quote we got while transitioning to Wrio's cutscene. "But what you see, is not real. It's all a show. And every part of the show is carefully controlled" Here we've already got a literal connotation for 'sight' from "what you see" , and connotations of 'acting' what if he was just acting out that he is not 'blind' to the outsider's point of view, so it is shown that he has less of a 'weakness' to others? Covering his disability under a guise so no one knows how to use it against him? It may be a reach - but it is an interesting idea to think about. Esp with the entire theatre play theme surrounding Fontaine and us/people being the audience of the big show.

6) wolf motifs and inspiration - It is quite easy to see Wriothesley is very heavily wolf motifed. Wolves are known for their sharp senses and acute hearing. They rely much more heavily on scent and hearing compared to their sight. Sounds familiar? It would be very neat if wriothesley has heightened senses as he can't rely on his eyesight as much, thus being easily able to tell when Sigwienne moves around and puts the cup in front of him. 7) gameplay - having a disabled character can make interesting and unique ideas on their kit and mechanic. I'll leave most of it for imagination, but something such as a passive that could auto-link enemies aggro-ed for aoe skills? Many many more possibilities. 8) It will simply be good disability representation in media , we've already had collei with the chronic illness of Eleazar, Xiao with chronic pain from karmic debt, Yoimiya's father short of hearing due to working with fireworks etc. It'll be an amazing addition for irl people with disabilities to feel more seen. 9) there's literally a scar under one of his eyes what more can i say if not it being more of a hint. His beta concept designs even had a scar on his eyebrow along with heterochromia? Which can also be seen as being blind in one eye with the 'white' colouring. Also the eyepatch beta design? Yeah.

Also this slipped my mind, but do also note Braille was originated and introduced in france - invented by Louis Braille in 1824. And well, what do we know of where Fontaine is based of? wink wonks

My conclusion, live laugh love hc wriothesley w vision impairment <3 even if it turns out not being canon and just some weird coincidence of everything.

So i have seen the Damian and Danny are twins and Danny's fave bat is Red Hood and threw them in blender and this is what I got lmao.

It's basically the same, Damian and Danny are twins, but this time? This time they are tied when it comes to power/standing in the League.

Danny might be a little faster on his feet, but Damian doesn't hesitate in life or death situations, Danny might be a little better at first aid, but Damian obeys their Grandfather's every word. Like overall Danny is tiny bit better than Damian, but it doesn't matter bc he doesn't kill.

Anyway long story short, they both are send on different missions to kill some guys. Damian kills the guy, Danny doesn't. And Danny really tries but he just can't. Danny knows this would be death sentence if he returned, so he runs away. (He can meet jezz and she just goes, ok this guys my new bro, and the fentons just accepting it)

Idk how but somehow the league thinks he's dead, and it somehow works out the same as before, but now Damian has ✨brother Complex✨.

Anyway time skip few years and Damian is in Gotham, Danny is half dead and all that stuff. But something happens (could be the fentons finding out about Phantom, or just some ghost king stuff) and Danny needs to go to Gotham. He already knows Abt the bats and especially Abt red hood.

Now allow me to explain more Abt Danny's weird relationship w red hood. Bc Danny grew up in the environment he did, he really blamed himself for being too weak to kill some random guy. And one day he learns about red hood, who kills (or killed) the people he deems as irredeemable (or just bad, but it could be specifically misinformation like this). And Danny, the literal king of ghosts (like he can appreciate it from the revenge side of thing), a child who was taught murder was okay and sometimes needed, but also not able to kill someone himself, Danny really loves this guy, but also really hates himself for not being able to be like him.

Tbh i think this is more of a background or a story than a prompt itself but i hope it can count. My thought process also went to Bruce and overall his reaction to another kid who also desperately wishes to be like his (most fucked up? Murderous? Hi Anon! I’ve been thinking about this one for a while! Sorry for the wait, I have a little bit of history with DID (as in I don’t suffer personally, but have been close with others that do), so wanted to get this one right. Blitwing was unironically a comfort character originally due to said struggles and trying to strike a balance between ‘funky space-german giant robot villain’ and ‘this is a serious real life condition with a lot of misinformation and prejudices’ can get a tad challenging.

Anyhoo, Long post alert. DID is discussed but no real warnings for this one. Lets go!

Blitzwing x DID!Reader

- DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) results in humans having multiple, distinct personalities – from as few as 3 or 4 (like our favourite triplechanger) to up to 100 in some cases. The Jekyll & Hyde - esque nature of yours is something you’re at least slightly grateful for – at least it’s simple!

- Granted, it doesn’t really help when your city is attacked by giant space robots. Repeatedly. Every week. Both personalities agree it’s a pain in the neck – switching out and coming-to mid war zone with no warning isn’t exactly relaxing.

- Your first meeting was very subtle. Crawled behind overturned cars and bridge rubble, ducking down as the buildings behind you were ripped up with a squeal of steel and concrete. An enormous giant tank/plane/robot shaking the ground, hollering with rage at a bright yellow little car zooming in the distance.

- “JOU PATHETIC LITTLE BUG!! I’LL - cUt JoU iNtO iTTy BiTtY stReaMerS!! HAhAha vE’re gOnNa haVe a PaRty – at jour base, perhaps, now zat ve know where it is, Autobot~”

- You couldn’t believe your fucking eyes -

- “Holy Shit SAME HAT?!”

- Red eyes snap to your dumbfounded expression, narrowing.

- Yeah. Maybe hollering it across no mans land wasn’t the smartest move.

Icy:

- He had no idea his affliction could be shared with organics. He didn’t even realise he was witnessing DID at first as you can’t literally switch faces. Come to think of it – I’m not sure cybertronians even have a word for it. He adopts your terms like a duck to water.

- Of the three he’s the most fascinated observer. He’s quick to document any minor tone shifts or facial expressions to indicate a switch between your two personalities – as well as the speed at which you change, your stressors and mannerisms. He can’t imagine dealing well if someone were to – somehow – get his alters mixed up, so he takes pains to greet both personalities properly.

- Is more likely the one to ask questions and approach the subject scientifically: though he will back off if the ‘Jekyll’ personality gets in his face about being treated like a science experiment. He knows the feeling and despises it.

- Just because he’s calm about it though, doesn’t mean he’s moralistic. Icy has a known sadistic streak and enjoys setting up situations to hurt people (see: the almost-murder of the Constructobots) so he’d be… intrigued to see how far your aspects were willing to go. He’s an enabler of destructive behaviour that specialises in not getting you caught.

Hothead:

- Hothead, by contrast – is much more reactive: blunt and easily confused.

- He will likely get your alters mixed up and become flustered and annoyed until he gets the hang of who is presenting when. Give him a bit, he despises asking Icy for help with anything.

- Yeah, of course he can – what do you MEAN you can’t communicate with your alters internally?? Do organics not come with a built in comm?? What the FRAG-

- He doesn’t like feeling out of sorts about finding someone with his condition. As far as he’d known, they were the only one ever to be split as they are. Someone who knows what it’s like, while desperately needed, is now almost unnerving.

- But he is an excellent vent buddy about multiple personality issues. If your alters want to chat shit about each other then Hothead is DOWN, he has a list of complaints about Icy and Random a mile long – even though airing them gets him interrupted by said alters all the damn time.

- Hothead will encourage violent coping mechanisms to your problems: if you have someone bothering you with some horror-movie assumptive bullshit about your disorder he is 1000% percent encouraging you to lure them behind a building for him to grind under his pedes.

Random:

- NEW FRIENDS?! New friends INSIDE of friends, oh he just wants to stuff you in his mouth and unravel you -

- Random is probably the first of the three to recognise your shared disorder. And when he gleefully tells his alters they don’t believe him (at least at first). Which doesn’t matter because you are now BEST FRIENDS. He’s gonna scoop you up and stuff you in his cockpit and make you a little hole in the mines riiiiiiight next to his berth. Don’t worry about telling him yes - he already knows your address!

- No matter how threatening you might think yourself to be, to Random you are the most adorable schmoopsie moo in the whole galaxy and he will commit war crimes to have you tucked into his pockets.

- Do not. Try him. In one-upmanship. Random knows exactly how far he will go to keep you with him and unlike Icy, who prefers to observe from a distance, Random will actively engage in finding very uncomfortable boundaries very quickly. Pretty much the only way to reign him in is to not play along in the slightest.

- He hates being ignored.

- He wants to hear and know everything about you, and will hop between subjects to a pattern only he knows. He’s exhausting, but probably also the most honest and vulnerable of the personalities.

- With Random, it’s most obvious that Blitzwing has total, universal acceptance of your personalities as they are. No dismissal, no belittling, no questions and no doubt.

- I’d say thats a breath of fresh air.

the Jedi did have powers of arrest but that was because they were diplomats and bodyguards. they were arresting assassins, corrupt officials, mercenaries, slavers and crime bosses (y'know, people who were actually actively upholding and profiting off of oppressive social conditions), not shoplifters or protestors. the only reason that they came under Senate authority in the first place was because they were actively attempting to prevent themselves from becoming too powerful.

I'm questioning being osdd1a but I don't really think I've been through enough trauma, maybe cptsd, and I'm being genuine and as non-confrontational as possible when I ask why endos are invalid?

1. you've been through enough, people process trauma differently and something that barely effected one person can be devastating to another!! if you've been through repeated trauma ( ex: getting abused in any way in childhood, getting bullied very badly, unstable home life, and/or others ) you can form OSDD/DID. also, dissociative amnesia isnt just " blacking out ", it includes emotional amnesia, which can make you forget how you felt/disconnect emotionally from a memory. i assure you that some things you now think " arent a big deal " really traumatized you!!

2. okay so theres multiple reasons why i say endos dni so im gonna have sub-points

2a. they're appropriating did/osdd terms for their own use. ' alter ' stands for ' alternate states of dissociation ' and ' system ' stands for ' system of dissociative parts '. when they say stuff like " non-dissociative system " it spreads misinformation about the origins of the term, same goes for alter.

( from here on out i'm gonna use system to describe p/w did/osdd and endo system origins to describe endos, just bc saying " p/w did/osdd " takes too long to type )

2b. they're trying to compare being tulpagenic/willogenic/stuff like that to being a system with trauma. endogenic and willogenic ( if willogenics possible ) experiences and inner functionality would be WAY different than a systems. endogenics wouldnt have c-PTSD, so they wouldnt have many traumaholders/protectors/persecutors/gatekeepers/tbh most system roles because their brains wouldnt feel the need to form those in order to be safe. endogenics also view having headmates as something fun and quirky while most systems view it as what it is: a disorder. if every p/w did/osdd liked having alters, integration wouldnt be a thing.

2c. they're inherently anti-recovery. they like to find people who found out that they're a system and tell them all abt endogenic junk, leading the new sys to believe that they are endogenic. the problem with that is that its practically impossible for that system to tell if they're truely " a system with no trauma " or a system that just cant remember it. systems form because the victim of trauma/abuse uses dissociation to cope with their situation, then the brain causes dissociative amnesia to form. a m n e s i a. most systems dont remember their trauma. hell, i dont remember most of mine!! but i know it exists because of the trauma holders who do remember it. with endos spreading the idea that being " a system without trauma " is possible, many p/w did/osdd will stick to that instead of the realization that their childhood sucked and had to break in order to survive, hence why the endo community is anti-recovery.

not really a point, but endos also tend to be pretty cocky so even if i did agree with their community i wouldnt want them interacting...

Operating under the assumption that everything is canon to a singular timeline restricts the creativity of the Dynamic Pixels team as well. It's very clear they're very passionate about their franchise, despite its very obvious mechanical problems. It's very story-driven, whether one likes it or not, so timeline shifts aren't a concern of mine because they don't affect the story. Planting a story in a certain period can lead to some interesting plot points due to what is 'canon' to real life (ie., Theodore being a mechanical genius in his prime between (presumably) the 70s and 90s), but just because it's important in other media like the books do NOT mean it's important to the show. The games could have been set in 2145 for all I care and still had its current aesthetic. I would have been a *little* confused, but it would have been obvious in that instance that the time didn't matter. The story did. Hyperfixating on details like the type of phone or slang being out of place in a media you don't actually know the time period of for certain is ignorant at best and misinformative at worst. Because we do have those details included in the show, though, proves that we can assume it's at a point that we have cell phones as well as the term 'sus' being used by 11-13-year-olds. As in, it's taking place in the modern day, based on the details we have.

In fact, Theodore's technological prowess hasn't even been *mentioned* as of Season 1's release, we just know his house if fucking crazy.

Hey Goldy! How are you? This is just super random, but someone shared a clip of Rosebowl Jikook, and can I just say how surreal it still feels that it actually happened? People were scrambling to explain that it was completely platonic, that it was an edit, that JK didn't suck JM's ear, that it was completely normal 🙄

I've heard about a certain clip where you could see a string of saliva, and yes, I saw it. Apparently, the big screen during the concert show you front and center when that happened and how you could literally see the string of saliva from JK's mouth to JM's ear. You could even see the sucking movement.

Imagine if Jikook have partners? Imagine seeing that and being okay w/ it?? And mind you, he did after towards the end of the concert, when they're sweaty and all.

There are SO many layers to Rubius and Vegetta’s relationship (both romantic and friendship-wise), and that complexity makes them fascinating characters to study. I’ve been discussing this a lot in private lately, but I feel like there’s quite a bit of misinformation / misinterpretations of Rubius and Vegetta’s relationship amongst some of the newer fans who might not know some key components of their personality and their relationship dynamic as a whole (which is understandable since the majority of their lore came from Karmaland, and a lot of newer fans only speak English / only watch QSMP), so ALLOW ME TO ELABORATE:

I think of the two, Rubius definitely gets mischaracterized the most (which, again, maybe isn't too surprising since not everyone watched Karmaland and he hasn't been on the QSMP server too much lately). I could go off on a tangent here and list my frustrations about the people who harassed him for his role / his actions during the Egg event / whining about ships to the point where he decided not to log into the server again ‘til the Egg event is over, but that's ultimately irrelevant to this discussion.

“Their love feels quite self-destructive” is a really good way to sum things up, because Rubius is a pretty self-destructive man. Rubius is, fundamentally, a man who is full of love for the people he cares about, but those feelings are in direct conflict with his reluctance to let people get close to him (and his commitment issues). He can freely give hugs and kisses (and more) to Vegetta, but when it comes to expressing his true thoughts and feelings, he’s pretty emotionally constipated. We’ve already seen this a few times on the QSMP server – when Rubius visits on Vegetta’s birthday, he sings him the most beautiful heartfelt love song ever, but as soon as it’s over and Vegetta tries to talk to him, Rubius runs away. Even in Karmaland V, when hooked up to a lie detector and asked about his feelings for Vegetta, Rubius tried to wiggle his way out of answering. Only when the world was literally ending and they all thought they were gonna die did Rubius finally admit his feelings, shouting his confession and his love for Vegetta at the top of his lungs.

(The real tragedy here is that it was so chaotic with everyone shouting, Vegetta never heard his words…)

Although it’s easy to slap the label “toxic” on Rubius, I think that’s unfair to him and his character, as well as his intentions. He truly does love Vegetta with all his heart, in every universe, and he doesn’t want to hurt him, but Rubius doesn’t want to get hurt either. The Meteor shower conversation gives us a clear understanding of that:

Rubius: I don't want to get hurt. I don't want to get my hopes up, and then get hurt. It's happened to me many times before. Especially here in Karmaland. Vegetta: Have you had lovesickness? Rubius: Yes. In Karmaland, everywhere, in real life... I'm already used to getting beaten. Vegetta: That's a pity... Rubius: I just want someone to take care of me, and that's it. I don't ask for much. Vegetta: I'm very protective.

The way I see it, Rubius is afraid of his feelings for Vegetta, because the larger his love grows, the larger that potential for hurt and disappointment gets. Does this excuse all his actions? No, of course not, however there’s a big difference between doing something out of self-preservation (possibly as a trauma-response, depending on how you interpret his character) and doing something with the intent to hurt someone.

IMO, Rubius isn’t a toxic guy, he just needs therapy.

Vegetta doesn’t get mischaracterized quite as often, though I do feel like people have a tendency to put him on a pedestal and minimize the flaws he has. I’m a massive Vegetta fan, but this guy’s far from perfect. He’s self-centered, borderline narcissistic sometimes, and he’s a very prideful man. He’s never left Rubius at the altar, but he’s still had his fair share of “oopsies” and "yikes" in their relationship. One (which I’m surprised people don’t talk about more) is an incident from Karmaland IV where Vegetta, very unhinged and mentally unstable at the time, kidnapped Rubius’ wife Nieves and threatened her with a sword, saying, “If Rubius can’t be mine, he can’t be anyone’s.”

For the longest time I genuinely thought that line came from a fanfic or something, then I stumbled upon the clip one day and I was just like:

In Karmaland V, Rubius became very close with a little alien child named Titi. He took care of Titi like he was his own son, and despite his attempts at emotionally distancing himself early on so he wouldn’t get attached, Rubius wound up caring a lot for him.

Then Titi died.

It was basically Rubius’ worst nightmare come to life – he’d let himself get close to Titi, he’d loved him unconditionally and let Titi into his heart, and Titi’s death utterly destroyed him. Everyone in Karmaland was affected by the death, but Rubius took it especially hard because of how close they were. Rubius was hurting badly and resorting to terrible coping strategies to deal with the pain, and Vegetta…

Well. Vegetta wasn’t very nice about it.

There are a lot of ways we could interpret Vegetta’s actions and words during this time – maybe he’s not super sensitive when talking about death since he’s probably some kind of demigod, maybe he speedran the grieving process, maybe he thought brutal honesty and direct action would help Rubius “snap out of it” sooner. However you see it, ultimately it did a lot more harm than good for Rubius’ overall mental health.

I bring these examples up not to paint their relationship as toxic or negative, but rather to express just how complex it is. Because, despite all their mistakes and drama and heartbreak, at the end of the day, Rubius and Vegetta still love each other more than anything else. Even towards the end of Karmaland V when they were quite literally on opposite sides of the battlefield (one supporting Quackity, the other supporting Luzu), their true loyalties lay with one another. When Rubius was hit by an enemy, Vegetta defended him with his life, and when Vegetta was hurt, Rubius did the same.

Yes, Rubius doesn't really know how to handle healthy relationships, and yes, Vegetta tends to forgive him too easily, but that doesn't erase the love they have. The key we need to remember here is that Rubegetta is a telenovela that sits squarely in the romcom category. They may wander into other genres and tropes from time to time, but they will always gravitate back to one another. Whether you define that as fate or soulmates or just sheer dumb luck, the facts remain and the love is there.

PHEW anyways that felt good to get out, I have so many thoughts on Rubegetta so I appreciate the excuse to rant. I'm always happy to chat about these two! :D And you're so right - Vegetta is so smitten for that demon, I hope he gets to meet the angel too. I hope Rubius comes back soon so Vegetta can see his Osito Fiu Fiu, but in the meantime, we'll have to keep wishing and praying just like Vegetta...

hi I saw your post asking for explanation about the context surrounding de gouges!

the technical reason for her arrest/conviction/execution was a pamphlet promoting, among other things, a potential re-installation of the monarchy. a fair bit of time had passed since, say, marat had suggested that, and the political situation had changed. due to this, at the time of de gouges' pamphlet, there was in fact a law prohibiting selling/distribution of texts advocating for a return to the monarchy (nowadays we would see this as an affront to freedom of the press, but it's important to remember that freedom of the press at that time in europe was the exception, not the rule. in fact, even at the height of what people call the 'terror', press in france was by many measures less restricted than elsewhere, where publications could be made illegal depending on how the king/emperor/etc was feeling that day).

the political context surrounding her arrest goes a bit deeper, because of her alignment with the girondin faction. it's important to note that just a few days before de gouges' arrest, a girondin woman named charlotte corday had stabbed marat to death in his house for his criticisms of the girondin faction in his newspaper. this, along with some other circumstances (such as a prominent girondin military official defecting to austria), painted everyone involved with that faction in a suspicious light. unfortunately, the fact that de gouges was a woman might've also come into account (given the potential association with corday being a girondin woman), but on the other hand a bunch of girondin men were arrested around the same time for various other reasons, so who knows.

there's also something I've found along the lines of her potentially having bought her son a military position?? not sure if or how much this contributed to her being arrested (I feel like they would've made that the bigger deal if it did) but that would also tend to discredit her.

the "anarchist beheadings" turn of phrase is imo just the poster attempting to demonstrate some rhetorical pathos. you are completely correct in your response to that part (as an irl anarchist myself it is always a bit amusing to see anarchism used as an adjective in that way, even though I know the connotation is often different lol).

you're also correct on the assertion that the jacobins had varying opinions about women's rights. and honestly, for a lot of them, it seemed to be something that was generally superseded by (for them) more pressing issues. and interestingly, a fair amount of women seemed to feel similarly and focused more of their political energy on concerns like price inflation, hoarding, and things like no-fault divorce rather than, say, being allowed to run for office. that's not to say that there were no women who wanted or pursued those things- there were many- but different people had different priorities. working-class women were very active in the revolution, and some political societies (most famously the cordeliers club) fully included women in their meetings and leadership (common cordeliers w).

obviously there were very sexist people in the government as well (such as chaumette, though I'd be hard pressed to find a single person who genuinely likes chaumette; he seems to fall in the category of 'why did he even do That Stuff. for what purpose.' along with people like hebert, collot, carrier, etc.) but that doesn't mean de gouges' arrest/execution was just because she was a Politically Involved Woman, because there were a bunch of other famous politically involved women who were not guillotined.

but yeah, in short, the lifting up of de gouges as some kind of feminist martyr is ahistorical and misinformed at best and highly classist otherwise. de gouges was not executed for having feminist views; this can be further confirmed by the fact that there were many feminist women active during the french revolution who were not executed. this doesn't negate the fact that 18c society still had very misogynistic currents, but that should be looked at in its own context, not applied as a way to try and simplify complex political circumstances surrounding de gouges.

also, in my opinion at least, the tagger you screenshotted was not engaging in good faith, as can be seen from subsequent reblogs and discussions of their additions. the modern view of the french revolution is extremely reactionary in the english-speaking world and people love to moralize and spout off about it in the tags because they watched a youtube video once in high school or something.

imo even if women's grievances were not considered as feminist causes, it would be feminist to address those grievances. women running for office would cause a limited number of women to hold power, would not necessarily put bread on the table or allow participation in public life for most women.

i'm not exactly comfortable with the need for a feminist martyr and for framing the feminist cause as a revenge (i think this need precedes the ahistorical reframing of the execution of de gouges). feminism is needed because intersectional gender equality is a good thing, not because someone has died fighting for it; the cause is larger than any one biography. i'm not saying there were not martyrs in feminist history (there were many). i'm saying that we should not be learning and organising for the martyrs, but we should be learning and organising by their memory.

I’m aware that most social media apps harvest your data, are prone to pipelines and shadowbanning and don’t pay their creators enough but TikTok is genuinely the w o r s t in every category. Another huge problem that exists on the app is the radicalisation pipelines are so strong because the three minute vid and 150 character comment format completely flattens nuance. All it takes is for someone to sound confident and talk fast enough with a vaguely coherent argument before you start thinking that overpopulation is a myth and engaging in needless drama (see: Drew Afualo and Bela Delgato, Danisha Carter and her critics etc.) This is poisoning how we interact with politics. YouTube is nowhere near perfect but it at the very least rewards longer form content this stuff like video essays is promoted on there. Tumblr has no character limit so you can read the entirety of this shitty essay without me needing to cut things for brevity. Typing a TikTok comment has driven me insane before because 150 characters is not even close to enough to have an informed discussion. Who is correct has now become who can slam dunk on someone else the best.

I do genuinely think that Drew Afualo is a net positive for the world and I’m glad she’s using the TikTok algorithm to spread good messages. But let’s be honest here, her videos aren’t well researched takes on misogyny. And I don’t think they’re trying to be either. Drew shouldn’t be expected to sit down and research a TikTok while she’s shitting on some asshole; that’s not her style. I think the problem is beyond her control. People are taking her quips and one-liners to formulate their opinions on the world around them. This is ok in this example given that Drew a positive influence. But this can and has been weaponised so easily to spread harmful rhetoric left and right and when you’re on political TikTok it’s impossible to tell which is which. Misinformation is also shockingly common and incentivised by the format.

Finally, your attention span is dying. Let’s look at YouTube. YouTube’s policies make it so that longer content is rewarded and, and this is a crucial point, you choose what you want to watch. On TikTok, because you are given content with the assumption you’ll enjoy it, you have to decide while watching if you want to scroll or not. Eventually your window of tolerance of videos before they get good shrinks and you’ll end up judging the quality of the content based on the first seven seconds. Comparatively, YouTube has you choose videos assuming you’ll like them and therefore you’ll spend more time with the art before you decide whether or not it’s for you. When your attention shrinks to seven seconds on TikTok, this bleeds into other aspects of your life and is incredibly unhealthy (speaking from experience). I had to watch two hour long video essays to compensate for how TikTok was just wrecking my focus.

Most people know TikTok sucks and use it anyway but then encourage others not to get it. Why don’t we delete it? Here’s an idea, if you have TikTok, get rid of it now. Destroy its ubiquity and only use Tumblr and YouTube /j No but seriously delete the app I’m so happy I did. My life has improved infinitely since.

⚜ 𝒪𝓉𝓉ℴ𝒦𝒶𝓁𝓁ℯ𝓃 𝓈𝓊𝓅𝓇ℯ𝓂ℯ𝓂𝒶𝒸𝓎 ⚜

I searched for OttoKallen on Twitter (mind you, without a hashtag) and I came across misinformation again. In this post was a SakuKallen picture, too. I don´t hate it, when people ship this ship. But because SakuKallen shippers keep attacking OttoKallen and spreading misinformation, this ship is gradually getting on my nerves. However, that's not the only reason I don't like SakuKallen as Ship. In this post I explain why. It's my personal opinion. Nobody has to share it. So please be patient and nice. SAKURA SAMSARA:

First we have the three regular Sakura Samara. The Samsaras were created from the memories of Sakura and Black Box shard, if I remember correctly. Sakuras soul was inside. In principle you can explore three options. One where Kallen dies, one where Sakura is killed by Kallen and one where they live in peace. It is important to note, that it is just a dream world of stigma. At that point, the real Kallen was not at Sakuras side. What is important to the shippers is the picture in which Kallen and Sakura are lying on the meadow holding hands.

There is also a fourth Samsara part in which Kallen lies on the meadow with Sakura and then leaves her for no reason at all. The plot twist is that Kallen lost her memories and fought Sakura, because of it. But Sakura was able to get her back. It was also made clear here that Kallen was just Sakura's memories and not the real Kallen. The two images listed are important for shippers, because they can be interpreted romantically. THE GRATITUTE ARC:

In the "Gratitude Arc", Theresa is possessed by a Stigma, causing her to end up in Sakura's Samara. Kallen helps Theresa to save Sakura by giving her the Oath of Judah. At the end we see her together with Rin and Sakura, eating ricecake. But it was just Sakuras inmagination. Shippers are happy that the two soulmates have finally found each other and can live happily together. SANKA SAGA:

Sanka Saga is an event that takes place in a parallel world. This parallel world is very ninja-oriented and involves seals that need to be found. The plot-twist of the story is that Kallen Castellan tried to revive Sakura by resetting time with the Preta rune. But she couldn't control the power and basically blew herself up with Sakura's body in her arms. This is just a rough summary. If you are interested in Sanka Saga, you can watch the story on YouTube. Fact is, that SakuKallen Shippers celebrate this story. Even though Kallen takes on the role of Otto. She lived 500 years. Otto lived 500 years. Kallen cloned Sakura and created Kasumi. Otto cloned Kallen and created Theresa. Both instinctively know that the soul of the loved one is in the clone's body, but have no interest in them. Kallen did cruel experiments to bring Sakura back to life. Otto did cruel experiments to bring Kallen back to life. the parallels are fluid. And in this case I don't understand these double standards. ST. FREYA HIGH:

St. Freya High, also known as Sakura's Membrance, is a webcomic with massively sexualized yuri content. It is also the prequel to "The Gratitute Arc". In principle, Kiana playfully immerses herself in a database in which she, as Kaslana, gains access to secret data. She then meets Kallen Kaslana and ultimately saves her from execution. She receives the cross from her, which later helps Theresa save Sakura. We also learn that Kallen was in love with Sakura. She shouted this fact out loud in court and later even wanted to die, because Sakura was no longer alive. The St. Freya High webcomic is still on the official international Honkai Impact site. But only the first three chapters. The ones that contain this story are deleted. In that case, the material should be considered non-canon. COOKING VALKYRIES:

The "Cooking Valkyries" event is designed to teach fans how to prepare some dishes. You can see Kallen and Sakura cuddling with their hands clasped together and Sakura flirting with an alcoholic Kallen. GUN GIRLS Z:

When it comes to GGZ (or Houkai Gakuen Z), there doesn't seem to be much, that can be put into a romantic context. At least only one picture ever appears in Shipping-discurses, that is supposed to prove Sakura and Kallen as lovers. And this is the one shown above. But the truth looks different. Sakura is controlled by the Honkai energy. Being under this control, she turns Kallen into a mindless doll so that she won't leave. Kallen says several times that she doesn't want that. This image alludes to the GGZ webcomic "Dark Sakura Tales", which was also linked on the Chinese Honkai Impact 3 website.

The story begins after this part from this webcomic. Apparently it's supposed to be an alternative version to Dark Sakura Tales. As a what-if scenario. WHY I DISLIKE THIS SHIP: Why don't I like SakuKallen, or rather, why do I prefer OttoKallen over this ship? Especially because this SakuKallen is more or less canon and contains many beautiful tragic stories.

My reason is,... Sakura has a lot of trouble letting Kallen go. To the point that, under the influence of the Honkai energy, she is willing to turn Kallen into a doll to keep her with her. The black box controls its victims by bringing out the worst traits and darkest desires of its hosts. I'm not saying Sakura is a bad person, but that aspect is definitely a part of her. And Otto is not like that. While Sakura's fears of loss are justified by Kallen leaving her, Otto's fears of loss are justified by the fact that Kallen might die. This is clearly evident in the webcomic "Elan Platinus" and also in Sanka Saga. While Sakura can console herself with a false version of Kallen, Otto cannot. That's why he wants to bring her back to life. They both love Kallen, but I find Sakura's way of love much more selfish than Otto's. Why didn't she accompany Kallen, if she was so important to her?

All what was important to Otto was that Kallen was alive and happy. He was even willing to sacrifice himself for her happiness. Would Otto accept, if Kallen chose Sakura? - I think so. Because her happiness is more important to him than his own needs. Would Sakura accept if Kallen chose Otto? - “But that light chose to shine on others instead.” Kallen in a projection of Sakuras inmagination of her. It is mentioned very often that Kallen wants to leave. This was explicitly teased again in the fourth Samsara part. What is a romantic reunion for Shipper, is for me more of a sign, that Fake-Kallen also wants to leave this place. Sanka Saga is OttoKallen played through in a different way and as for the scenes in the cooking event...

Kallen also likes to hold hands with Otto. And as I said. Kallen is only blushing, because she consumed alcohol beforehand. Otto and Kallen, on the other hand, don't have a lot of screen time together. But the fact that they have a close bond. The tragic that Otto's fears came true and Kallen died. That Otto did everything he could to revive her. And the fact that he didn't do it for selfish reasons is what makes me love this shipping so much.

As we all may have already heard:Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have broken up. Megan announced this by deleting all photos of Mgk(besides the events that she only got to go to because of him) and then going from following no one to following Harry styles, Timothee Chalamet(for unknown reasons) and Eminem for Obvious reasons.(only did to be petty). Then there is the post with Beyonce lemonade lyric and the poster of human trafficking. This all ended her with her deactivating her account. Anyways I’m going to try to keep this short and clear up some rumors or misinformation people are constantly spewing to defend her.

Rumor #1 : The engagement ring being hard to take off that shows he’s controlling and possessive

Fact: A quick search to the designer of the ring insta or website: Stephenwebsterjewelry, you will find these pictures and the designer himself describing the ring as “The two perfectly matched pear shaped gems are connected by a magnet buried in the setting connecting the D colour antique-cut Diamond and the untreated Colombian Emerald”

So as you can see the ring is not made of thorns(sarcastic joke mgk made), but it is only magnetic and if it did hurt her to take it off it wasn’t the right finger measurements.

Rumor #2: The reason for her wearing the pink cast and having a concussion is because MGK physically abused her.

Fact: Since January 8th 2023 to about a week ago, Megan Denise Fox was in Bulgaria, filming a movie called subservience. She most likely had a fight/action scene since she will be playing and AI Robot maid who ends up reaping havoc on a father and family and hurt her wrist and got a concussion from there. She even posted a picture where she is laying in a hotel room, where at the time, Mgk was in LA and she had not come back for the grammy’s

Rumor#3: He threatened to unalive himself by putting a shotgun in his mouth because she was going to leave him/or not there for him

Fact: This was discussed in the documentary, now I don’t have the clip, but let me give you all some context, 1. He is a person who has suffers with substance and mental issues(depression,Paranoia, Anxitety). 2. His father(who he had a tough,rocky relationship only to have made up w/2 years or so b4) had recently just passed away from cancer and probably had a hard time processing his death especially since he had not reconnected w/ his mom. 3. Megan who was constantly saying or being portrayed as his healer and offering him support was away filming. 4. It was during quarantine so everybody in the world was struggling in some way.

Idk If this is just me but although yes it was traumatic for Megan being on the phone in this situation, I think with this context, we can see that he might have not been in the right mind especially to be playing an emotional abusive bf to her. Another thing I want to add that in his song Sid and Nancy(written after this incident) is based off a text MEGAN sent to him saying “if we can’t be together then we should go out murder/suicide). Does that seem like a girlfriend who wants you to heal? I don’t think so.

Rumor #4: Mgk cheated on Megan with the female guitarist, Sophie lloyd

Fact: Sophie has a boyfriend and there is no reason or evidence that they were involved especially since Megan was on most of the tour anyway. He might have cheated with other girls but as far as we know he didn’t or there is no evidence but megan insinuating. 

To end this off, DO NOT send hate to Sophie, any of the band or MGK because this was a toxic relationship on BOTH ends and now that it is over there is nothing we can or will do but move on.
