literally insane to look at the draft of my nina zenik hell fic i started... a year and a half ago and realise how much tony gilroy and diego luna and i have been swapping the extended-side-character-backstory writing blunt like. i was like hmm i think we should break this character’s canon backstory in order to refill it by exploring this one dissonance in accents to have them be born in a totally different place to canon in order to really get those matryroshka doll onion layers of immigration, diaspora, dispossession, the refugee experience and they were like yeah. i think we should break open this genocide metaphor to talk about the lived experience of being a genocide survivor. i think we should break canon to make canon. i think we should talk about who the fuck is making these weapons.

My friend works for a company that does a points based reward system, like if you do a good job someone can give you points. He is currently very close to having enough points for a spa weekend so we're joking about how he needs to really whore himself out to get those last points.

Thinking about the SAS base having a similar points system. You work in an admin role and are so damn close to having enough points to get that all singing, all dancing cat tower. If you have to paste on a smile and do everybody's job for them to get those points for your cat then you will. Generally it's back office people doing the points system, theoretically soldiers can give points but they don't usually interact with your lot. But you've checked and actually they could give a lot of points since they've never used them so they're all saved up. If even a few of them gave you their points you could get the cat tree and then some... time to go speak with some soldiers.

I love when there's a Big Bad that feels all powerful and undefeatable but then we start to get to know the Big Bad and suddenly an even Bigger Badder entity enters the story and we realise that the first big bad was actually not that powerful and can barely hold their own against the bigger bad but that doesn't matter because it just serves to show how terrifying the new threat is

IS IT NOT JUST!!!!!! foa just sticks out to me as being a comforting game, just because it feels so loving towards its 'outcast' cast, who are all so incredible!!!! the kindness they show towards the pc, and how eventually the pc slowly joins their chosen family !!!! it's got a very lovely slowburn element to it too, and the ending feels earned, but still open to what's next !!!!!!!!!!!! i need foa 2 fr and i'm so glad that i got you to play it omg <3 :)

i really want to trust the writing process of the miraculous writing teams especially because of the fact that there are different ones which can be difficult for super good continuity but like… how can i trust it when there are so many retcons and one of them (cough aka the creator cough) keeps getting into arguments with ppl on twitter and claiming that “everything’s planned from the beginning” and things cannot happen cuz “this one specific outcome will happen no matter what if this thing happens!!!”
