This is one of four drawing projects I have assigned to myself per this post. This song was my most listened-to song from March to May this year. Of course, like most of the songs I listen to too much, I have a mental music video for this one.

Neroism is one of the few songs I have in my gem playlist, an appallingly short playlist for my Gem Dracula AU as partially explored in this post featuring the designs of Hematite (gem Jonathan) and Jasper (gem Mina).

In this verse, Hematite is sliced in half by Andradite, a warmongering gem who Hematite was sent to placate and inform of the establishment of Little Homeworld on Earth. For any other gem, a disruption to their physical form of this magnitude would cause them to immediately "poof" and retreat into their gem. However, Hematites, while not purposefully designed to have this functionality, can temporarily remain physically formed in cases of dismemberment and can use their polarity to manipulate the severed parts of their physical forms and even reattach them. Nevertheless, this is an incredibly traumatic thing to happen to a Hematite, and the only way to process the trauma and heal is to retreat back into their gemstone and reform properly.

Unfortunately, Hematite does not retreat back into her gem after this incident, paranoid that if she lets her guard down for even a moment, Andradite will find her.

AAAAAAAHHH IT'S MY TWO FAVOURITES EVER

Finally finished the best boys, James and Edward. Or in this au project, Red Zircon 9.6 and Moonstone 6.3! Edited as I've finally decided.

The last time I drew this version of Jame was when I was still practicing how to draw the kind of gem I wanted him to be. Also gave the cast slightly samey outfits. I knew even a humanoid James would want to do everything to stand out, so a leg pattern and a big lifted collar was just the thing. I sort of liked the old leg pattern, but it was overly pointy and got way too difficult to measure/scale right. There were some problems with it and I'm amazed I finished the one at all. I told myself the k.i.s.s. method there

Red Zircon's outfit was about to look a little different, but I'm glad I went with something bolder in comparison with everyone else's looks. Also booty shorts. #Yassify. As for Moon, I just switched the tie. The one he would have gotten I will be giving to Toby once I get around to drawing him. The rest I'm super happy with. A jacket didn't seem to suit him. He looks like a charming lil butler now 83 awww

Fun fact; Red Zircon, in the story, has black flecks of Painite as inclusions. Not only to make him all the more unique, it's my little reference to the rws origins and his old black livery. You'll see that when I upload a coloured version sometime later. For now I wanted to keep my line art clean to show off his hairstyle.

Hey what if I finally finished one of the small town AU (Willdale Cliffs AU) refs? Meet "The Family", better known as two punks who've more or less taken over the town's park. Unlike most of the other people in Willdale Cliffs who grew up in the town, Gem only showed up a year or two ago. Joel's always been known as a bit of a delinquent, spending most of his time working on his beat up car to one day, just maybe, get the damn check engine light off. Nobody in the town quite knows how or why these two get along, but it's rare to find them too far from one another. (ty to @/goblin-hours-oclock for the comment abt what car Joel would drive— and an additional second s/o to @/eydilily for the OG inspiration for my Gem and Joel designs) Some closeups + easter eggs under the cut!

Okay the regency era/bridgerton inspired plot bunny.

Steve is definitely noble, his father is a Viscount, so Steve was raised moving back and forth between their country estate in the fall and winter and their estate in London during the spring and summer. This AU relies on designation being known from birth, so when Steve is born they know he’s an omega and is raised like a noble omega. He can read and write but any other academic interests are done on his own time. He always wears beautiful dresses and has his hair in pristine curls. He has plenty of precious gems but he most commonly wears simple pearl jewelry. Robin is his lady’s maid, and best friend. Her mother works for Steve’s mother and they were raised together until Steve had his presentation heat and she became his official lady’s maid.

Eddie is raised in London and is orphaned shortly before his presentation Rut. His mother was a barmaid and his father was a lamp lighter. He finds a skill for the arts around the same time; he will play a lute on a street corner for coins, or do sketches of people in the park for money. Eventually he saves and saves until he can open his own studio near the high streets and finds that the marriage season leads to increased sales. He meets Steve at the end of the last summer before he is presented to the Ton. Steve and Robin had just left the modiste and were strolling when he saw a beautiful landscape painting in a store window. He drags Robin inside and demands to know who painted the work and if they would do a commission. Eddie admittedly flirts before realizing just how important Steve is, but the interaction ends with Steve clutching a piece of paper with his information so he can send him a commission letter. Eddie ends up getting the letter a few weeks later and a few days after that he makes his way to the country where he stays for nearly a month. Steve and he end up spending a lot of time with only Robin to chaperone them and they both individually develop feelings but both know it’s impossible. Steve starts contemplating if his title is worth it when Eddie sneaks onto the estate during the dead of winter to present him with a hand painted silk hand fan for his birthday.

Then the spring comes and Eddie is visited by a member of the royal staff, explaining that he had an uncle who recently passed and his lordship has passed onto Eddie himself. Despite his shock, Eddie thanks the man and then immediately writes to Steve to inform him of this change. He professes his love in the letter and tells him that as soon as he is presented to the Ton the following month he will make an official motion of courtship. Steve is giddy over this, unable to stop smiling the whole day of his presentation, it only slipping from the shock of being named the diamond by the queen herself. But then, the next afternoon, Steve’s parents show him all of the bids they received that morning but there’s nothing from Eddie. He even asks and his parents say no one named Lord Munson stopped by.

Robin finds him that evening and presents a letter. She tells him she found it in the waste, though the flowers were unable to be saved. It’s a note from Eddie, he had shown up and Steve’s parents had thrown his gifts away.

They begin a secret courtship, late night strolls and secret letters and gifts. Steve goes to insist to his parents that he has found his alpha towards the middle of July but before he can speak they inform him that they have approved of his engagement to Lord Thomas Hagan behind his back. Tommy hadn’t even shown up to any balls to try to woo Steve, the whole engagement had been done behind closed doors.

I don’t know how they’ll figure out the next part yet but they end up deciding to run away together, leaving a ball early. Steve ends up giving a speech, lamenting being a doll in someone else’s playhouse then proclaiming that he refuses to be that doll anymore. He will choose his own husband. After he finishes his speech he goes to run through the estate to the front where Eddie should be waiting but the Queen’s right-hand intercepts him and tells him that his presence is being requested. I won’t go through the whole scene because it’s wordy but it culminates in the Queen approving their marriage and, to punish the Harrington’s for their audacity - to take her diamond away without him having a say - she strips them of their titles and give them to the new Viscount Munson. The Harrington’s are then “gifted” the newly vacated lordship and reminded to be grateful.

I have more thoughts about the fall they spent together and then their courtship and wedding but only if people want it.

Fusion deets under the cut! [Big Ramble]

So!! Aventurine is one of the most stable fusions in this au, as Mammon and El's personalities mesh very well bc they're both silly goofy lil guys. They are also the 2 that are most often fused for long periods of time because they get along so well, nearly garnet level of permafusion, but they do have to separate more often.

The inspo for them was japanese delinquents depicted in media [ex. Mondo from Dr1, Josuke from jjba], both Mammon and El are troublemakers, and their fusion is no acception to that trait. Also! I designed them to fit each other so they would fit this fusion bc Aventurine came to me before either of them were polished designs, and I really liked the concept!

Because of Elliot's attempted shattering, his gem [and psyche] is permanently cracked and can't be healed by any diamond's healing ability. This will carry onto every fusion he's part of. That's why the right side of Aventurine's sunglasses are cracked, so they can display that trait when the color of their glasses cover their one blind eye.

Aventurine's personality takes after Mammon the most, with Elliot's calm demeanor taking a backseat [unless they're destroying smthn, that usually all Elliot]. That being said, this is one of the more intelligent / tech-savvy fusions as well, combining Mammon's nearly instantaneous calculations and problem solving skills, and Elliot's extreme dedication to learning a new concept or hobby every few weeks and you get a very surprisingly intelligent fusion[to some].

Cocky and a bit of a smart-ass, It isn't uncommon to hear them go "Bow before the Great Aventurine!" puffing their chest out and strutting about the au equivalent of the House of Lamentation [possibly a ship? Currently unknown]. Though they're known to be a harbinger of mischief, Aventurine is a very level-headed and well-balanced fusion, so y'all will probably be seeing more of them sooner than later.

What is this?

Pink Onyx AU is a Steven Universe AU focused on interactions between Steven and Jasper and is intended to be read after you have finished Steven Universe Future, as it contains many many spoilers for the series. If you have watched it already, great! Welcome! The goal is to bring you a Jasper redemption arc that we couldn’t get due to time and cooperate restraints on the Crewniverse. I hope you enjoy!

I do not own these characters or their likenesses except for the single fluffy thembo fusion I created for the story. This is just a fan comic.

Comic is PG-13 for some angsty/touchy themes, minor blood, violence, and gem-cussing. Touchy-subjects will always be in a cartoon-ish metaphorical representation you would likely find on TV and be available for multiple interpretations.

When do you post?

Typically when you see this post pinned, I’m on a bit of a break, but when Nyx wakes up (this post goes away) the comic is due to be released 1 page at a time at 7am EST most days. I try for a daily release. Sometimes I skip a day if I’m behind. Episode release dates are always announced ahead of time by a few weeks.

Is this a romantic ship AU between Jasper and Steven?

Nope, more like an aunt and her nephew trying to figure it all out. No romance between these two here.

Is your Tapas updated at the same time?

Nope, tumblr comes first, and the tumblr will always have bonus content which Tapas will not. The Tapas for this updates after the tumblr version is completed. Usually same day or within a day.

Do you have a reference for Onyx? Sure do!

How do I use the ask system for this blog?

You can leave a message, or even an object, for the characters to interact with. The asks you leave can be answered by myself, Onyx, Steven or Jasper within the realm of this AU. Your asks will have no effect on the comic story. Think of it like the actors are in their dressing rooms and you get to give them a poke while they take a break! As the comic story progresses, their replies to your answers may change! Their responses will be in-character depending on where in the story we are.

My note by the den (an ask) was never answered. How come?

Lots and lots of asks come in every day. I wish I could answer them all! Since I draw something to go with most answers, especially the character ones, they do take a bit of time. Sometimes, I get duplicates of the same ask, or an ask that may refer to something that spoils the story if I answer it. I might hang onto those asks for a later time! Or group them into categories to answer all at once. I hoard asks for 1 year in an attempt to get to them. If I missed yours, know I tried and I love them anyway! I hope it does not discourage you in the future.

What kind of fusion is Pink Onyx? Are they good or bad? Pink Onyx is a fusion of a protagonist and an antagonist, so their alliance is yet unknown, but they have Steven’s good heart and Jasper’s loyal nature. They also have Steven and Jasper’s flaws, so they can be volatile and emotionally explosive at times, too.

What are Pink Onyx’s pronouns? Onyx likes they/them, but also answers to he/him and she/her, especially when Steven or Jasper is dominant over one another. They also seem to take on a fluid role and prefer a she/her when in a caretaker status. They dislike it/its.

What does Pink Onyx sound like? Personally, I hear them as a youthful, masculine tone. Like Steven if a little older. But I also enjoy when people say they hear them as a gruff, Amazonian-type feminine. I enjoy and endorse both.

Do Jasper and Steven enjoy being fused to one another? For now, it is a struggle, but they enjoy what the other brings to the fusion even if they won’t say it.

Does Pink Onyx need to eat and do human things? If so, do they enjoy it? They don’t need to do them, but they do feel the discomfort without them. Things like breathing, eating, and sleeping are optional for Onyx, but they will become quite irritable if not allowed to do them. They greatly enjoy sleeping and trying new foods.

What does Jasper think about having human organs when fused? She’s pretty grossed out by the idea of organic matter going into her mouth and coming out of other places. The heart beating and lungs breathing she can feel for the first time, and it is highly strange for her to experience.

What is Pink Onyx’s favorite food? They adore anything watermelon flavored and Cookie-cat ice cream products

Does Pink Onyx have any special fusion powers? They do, and as they learn about themselves, more powers seem to come out. Each of their base component appears to be enhanced in a unique way. They have Pink Diamond at their core, so the destructive potential is also there.

Why is Steven hiding Pink Onyx from others? This AU occurs directly after the events of "I Am My Monster", so Steven is very emotionally, and mentally, raw. He fears judgement for running back to Jasper, who in the past, was part of so much trauma he already endured.

Pink Onyx seems to know nothing about human culture and gem culture despite being a fusion. What’s going on? Jasper and Steven agreed to fuse, but they have yet to open up to one another about much else. The fusion exists because they agree to do so, but Jasper won’t open up about her emotions, and Steven is so sensitive yet that he is not sharing because he knows Jasper won’t want to hear it. This causes Onyx to be unable to access both of their memories easily, but they can bring it out with enough effort.

Since everybody liked the last AU post involving RC9GN, here’s another:

Puella Magi Theresa Magica! I guess.

I was inspired by various sketches of Magical Girl Theresa that were posted waaaay back in 2013. I took the designs, listened to the Madoka Magica soundtrack, and finished this at about 1 in the morning! Additional comments and wordvomit below the cut, I’m foaming at the mouth at this AU:

So here’s some of my inspirational references.

So it’s a mix between ballerina, bird, and traditional Japanese artwork. Her outfit consists of a ballerina outfit with ribbons adorned with light blue pompoms seen on a tengu’s sash. I lightened her eyes to match these pompoms and create more contrast while unifying the color pallet. I also added some gold as a reference to her everyday wear and also because gold is complimentary to purple on the color wheel. Her shoes are a combination of the geta sandal and a pointe shoe, another little nod to the two major aspects. Her dress, eyelashes, and singular wing (which is usually on the right) are all based off of the tengu seen from the show. Her soul gem is square red gem encased in gold in the shape of a 9.

After seeing the ninja continuously get his ass beat, and worrying for Randy because he always seemed to disappear whenever shit was going down, Theresa entered into a contract. Her wish was to use her ability as a magical girl to help the ninja and keep her crush the school safe.

So, when she’s not fighting witches, she uses her magical baton to fight monsters.

Eventually, her requirement to fight witches pulls her attention away from what she wanted to do in the first place, resulting in her becoming the witch known as Kraken. I have a whole lot more I want to put under this but I don’t want this post to be too long (^^;;

If this does well like the last one, I’ll continue it. To be safe and easier to track, I’ll tag this as #Puella Magica Theresa Magica AU

I’ve also been thinking a little bit about false’s design and much less on martyn’s but! They both have a solid place in the AU (mumbo too! gem also a little!) and have their own plots sort of worked through. subject to change since this AU has flipped its vibe like 3 times since I first started it.
