Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko - The Lesbian Office RomCom You Needed
Blatant flirting, hilarious misunderstandings, and lesbian shenanigans aplenty - this show is funny, over-dramatic, and most of all gay as hell. Here's my review! Spoiler-free version first, and a more detailed spoiler-y version under the cut. I hope you enjoy!
A quick summary: Overall: 9/10, you should absolutely watch this! Genre: RomCom, with some serious elements and a heartfelt exploration of sexuality Watch if you are looking for... : A silly and fun time, a happy ending, misunderstandings, and character development. Highly recommended to watch this with your partner(s) or your sapphic friends! Watch out for... : Although the tone of the show is mostly comedic, it contains discussion & depiction of homophobia at the workplace and past trauma relating to that Where to watch: Official TL on GagaOOLala, or Fansubs by @furritsubs (highly recommended!)
"Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko" (Ayaka-chan wa Hiroko-senpai ni Koishiteru) is a Jdrama adaption of a manga by the same title. The series premiered this year July 2024 and has wrapped up a short while ago, with a total runtime of 8 episodes of 24 minutes each.
The title of the show already says all; the plot is simple: Junior staff member Ayaka is head-over-heels for Hiroko, her senior at the company she works at. And she has decided to go on the offensive.
There are many obstacles in Ayaka's way: first of all, Hiroko is 13 years older than her (they are 23 and 36), and her superior at the workplace. Hiroko is beloved by both her superiors as well as her staff, so Ayaka's love for her is just one of many. And no matter how blatantly she ups her advances (and girl, she is BOLD), Hiroko is 100% convinced that all the flirting is just misplaced, straight-woman obliviousness.
The irony of it all is that Ayaka is absolutely barking up the right tree, because Hiroko is a lesbian, but has been firmly in the closet at work - something that she has no plans on changing. Her professional life and her personal must stay completely separate, at all cost. The only place she can truly be herself is the lesbian bar she's been a regular at for years.
^ Me when I'm a lesbian disaster doing insane mental gymnastics
However, "giving up" is not in Ayaka's vocabulary. As her seduction attempts keep escalating and being misunderstood, Hiroko's hard exterior begins to crumble bit by bit. Can Hiroko finally overcome her rigid ways, and let herself fall for someone?
Although the show is first and foremost a comedy, both Ayaka and Hiroko as characters are handled really well. They have their own problems, insecurities, reservations about the other, and both have a simple but great arc over the course of the series. Ayaka is discovering her sexuality, something she had never even considered before falling for Hiroko. What does being in love with a woman mean for her future? And Hiroko, who is already very confident in her sexuality, is confronted by her past trauma, and the fact that she's still not ready to come out despite the changing times. And while being undercover has saved her career in the past, it has also made her feel alone and isolated. She likes Ayaka back, but can't allow her true colors to show.
Something that I find very hard to achieve with comedy shows is the switch between funny and serious, and I think that Ayahiro manages this very well. Both of our main characters feel grounded enough in reality that when they get emotional, it feels relatable and sincere. For a silly show like this, striking a balance like that is crucial, and save for a few pacing issues in the later half of the show (that I honestly didn't mind at all), I think the show totally nails it. Ayahiro is not a realistic show, but it contains elements of reality that made me connect to it, despite all the insane shenanigans that go on. And because of that the show made me laugh and cry as much as it did, often in the same episode. It works, and Kudos to the writers (and actors!) for that.
Speaking of actors, one thing I must mention is that the show is very well made. The actors (especially Mori Kanna as Hiroko is the standout for me, she has a natural charisma and gay swagger) do a fantastic job, the leads' chemistry is great. The production overall has some real money behind it, with lots of changing sets that all look great and have been crafted with care. Ayaka's outfits are absolute KILLER, she is giving insane femme energy. The show also looks very pretty, the color graders turn that saturation up to 100 and it fits Ayaka's rose-tinted world well.
That's it for the spoiler-less part, I'll now get into specific characters and plot points with full spoilers up to the end of the series under the cut. If you don't want to get spoiled, I hope the review until now made you want to watch the show for yourself! I hope you enjoy!
First of all I need to disclaim that I have not read the original manga that she show is based on, so I can't compare the series to its original and how the plot is written there. I do intend to read it (I hope it gets localized to German so I can support the official release, but I might check out the English Official TL anyway before that) but for now, I will only judge the series as is.
Ayaka: Our protagonist is a femme fatale, in... another meaning of the word, I guess. She is a disaster, bad at pretty much everything she does except not giving up. Once she has set her mind to something, she will get it done. That leads her to often be inconsiderate and unable to see what others around her are feeling, which goes mostly for her best friend Risa, but also for Hiroko, whose feelings she also fails to consider even when pursuing her. Ayaka has to learn the hard way that her naivete is hurting others, and herself. She hasn't really thought her advances through, simply acting on instinct. But as the series goes on, she takes her feelings and her newly discovered sexuality seriously, and grows comfortable with calling herself a lesbian. She is also unashamedly horny, like, Oh My God, this girl is trying to get laid so bad. This is hilarious and refreshing to see, and although her seduction attempts are often played as comedic, it doesn't feel like she is being ridiculed for her sexuality by the show. Ayaka often crosses boundaries (physical and emotional) with Hiroko, both out of naivite and in deliberate attempts to seduce her. To me this was never truly infuriating, even though sometimes she really did go too far, but for me it always kept in tone with the comedy of the show. Even when Ayaka finally comes out in front of the entire office, she makes it clear that she doesn't want Hiroko to do the same if she's not ready.
Hiroko: Our deuteragonist is probably my favourite character in the show, and I think she's very relatable and well done. As an older lesbian, she's got plenty of experience, having even earned the title of "The Ace" in her lesbian friend circle for being a talented womanizer. But a traumatic experience of losing her last partner due to being found out at the workplace has changed her. She's afraid to get attached, she's unable to let people get close to her true self. So when Ayaka is fighting tooth and nail to get to her, Hiroko is caught in conflict between her feelings of attraction and her past trauma. She does everything in her power to dismiss Ayaka's advances to protect herself, and later when she learns that Ayaka is in fact not straight (duh), she still turns her down to protect Ayaka's (and her own) career. Hiroko is a bit of a conservative - something she's also called out for in her lesbian friend circle - she believes that coming out at work is impossible and irresponsible. And you know, I get it. Not only does she have personal bad experiences with exactly that, it's also not unreasonable to think it would be a bad idea to hook up with your junior of 13 years. Like, I get it girl. Hiroko is clearly attracted to Ayaka, not just physically but also emotionally, because Ayaka is everything Hiroko wants to be but can't. And that leads to Hiroko constantly underestimating Ayaka, even treating her like a child. She thinks Ayaka is not really thinking the gravity of her actions through, and she gets called out for that and has to overcome it. In the end, Hiroko ends up being a character that needs time, and needs to unlearn a whole bunch of shitty behaviour, something the show clearly also shows is being worked on and that Ayaka also respects (more on that later).
Risa: Easily the character I struggled with the most, Ayaka's best friend Risa is complicated. She's very observant but also shy, and secretly harbors a crush on Ayaka. Quietly struggling with her sexuality, she only decides to come out when she realises that Ayaka's feelings for Hiroko are serious. Oh, it's messy! She confesses to Ayaka, who in turn has to struggle with her feelings for someone else, but also not wanting to lose her closest confidant. And to her credit, Risa takes the rejection quite gracefully and continues to support Ayaka in her pursuit of Hiroko. However, Risa also outs Hiroko against her will to Ayaka, which... is just a shitty thing to do, even though she just wanted to help her friend. Good motive, still murder. After the conflict between Ayaka and Risa is resolved, Risa just kind of... is around, quietly worrying in her corner and kind of (in my opinion) overstepping her boundaries with Hiroko. I don't dislike Risa, but I thought her character was not done super well in parts, and although I understand the complicated situation she herself is in, the show doesn't really let her grow as much as the other characters. Anyway, good for her for bagging the hottest chick at the lesbian bar, though. Good for her!
The "break-up": The story's conflict comes to a peak when Hiroko finally realises there is only one way to shut this all down. She needs to fulfill Ayaka's desire, and then turn her down, once and for all. But Hiroko at this point still thinks Ayaka is immature and hasn't really thought her actions through. Ayaka sheepishly asks for a kiss, so Hiroko kisses her. "Now you've achieved everything you wanted." We're done, you can give up on me and this childish crush you have on me. And most importantly, I can let you go, too. Not realising that Ayaka wants much more. She wants a real relationship, she wants the kiss, sex, real emotions, she wants to see Hiroko's true self too. She wants a partnership.
The Finale: With the encouragement of her peers, Ayaka finds the courage to express her feelings to Hiroko one last time. And she finds just the right words to finally get through to her. Hiroko realises how much of an ass she's been all this time, how she ended up hurting the girl she loves and herself by denying herself happiness. This whole scene was so well done (Kudos to Kato Shiho as Ayaka, this is probably her best scene in the entire show), brother I cried so hard. And finally Hiroko can say what she should have a long time ago: "I'm sorry."
One year later: In the show's worst case of bad pacing, we immediately cut from their tearful reunion to "one year later", lol. I don't mind the sudden jump too much, but maybe a bit of a slower fade-out would have softened the blow, because I think a few people probably found this very jarring xD not too bad for me. I was actually positively surprised that we actually get to see the aftermath, see how their relationship has developed a year into it.
I've seen a few people complain about this "no-sex scene" (lol) and I just want to add my two cents. I actually really like how this scene played out, for two reasons. Reason 1 is that it's just very much in-character for Hiroko. We've seen her struggle back-and-forth with the intimacy Ayaka wanted from her for the past 7.5 episodes, and her own internalised homophobia and constant fear of "crossing the line". She's a traumatized person, and it makes total sense to me that even one year into the relationship, she's still struggling with sexual intimacy. Sure, a whole year is a long time not having sex with your partner (even though you both clearly wanted to from day 1) but like... it makes sense for Hiroko. She's still working through the past 10+ years of repression. I do understand how this scene can be interpreted as "the show is afraid to show them being horny and sexy together, they're cowards for making Hiroko so obsessed with Ayaka's "purity" etc" and like, yes, that is a totally valid interpretation, but IMO also a quite bad faith one.
"I'm happy to know you feel that way. Which is why, could you please wait a little more, just until I sort my feelings out?" "What?" "I want to cherish you, Ayaka." "Right." "I'm sorry for everything, Ayaka." "For everything?" "In the end, it seems like I still haven't came out yet. I understand that I'm making you endure something when you don't have to. But⌠I do want to be with you, and I want to keep my job. I'm really sorry for making you put up with my selfishness."
^ Like, that is the conversation that follows. It's not just about sex for Hiroko, that kind of intimacy holds a deeper meaning to her and she's just not ready for it yet, and trying to sincerely tell her partner that. And when Ayaka reaffirms her willingness to be patient in this scene and is respectful of Hiroko's choice, Hiroko realizes that she's being a stupid coward, and finally makes a decision...
... to come out in front of the whole office, who's been gossiping about their relationship the whole year anyway.
And that is the end of the show!
So really, Hiroko did manage to overcome her fears in the end, and it took her a whole year into a healthy relationship to do so. And I think that is honestly much more realistic than some people would like to believe. Is the smooch in front of the whole office silly and cheesy and over-dramatic? Of course, but that's the entire show so far. And if you think that kiss-and-dip is dumb then I can't help you, I think you just don't like fun.
Oh yeah, and my reason 2 why I thought that no-sex scene was done well is because it's just funny. Ayaka has been DTF since minute 1 of the show, and her still being unable to get it this far into it is just funny. I would have loved a little nod to them finally getting down at the very, very end, but eh, I can live with it like this. They've conquered the emotional hurdles, I'm certain they will cross that other bridge when they get there on their own time.
Conclusion: "Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko" is a great and incredibly funny lesbian show that touched me emotionally much more than I thought it would. It made me cry several times, the production and acting quality positively surprised me, and honestly deserves my Nr 2 spot of favourite Lesbian JDrama after Tsukutabe (which is a 10/10 show) for now. I really hope this type of show gets imitators, adapting relatively short stories into mini-series with great quality. I appreciate the more adult tone of this series, its shameless comedy while still being able to hit serious beats with real emotion. From what I've seen of the BTS, the actors and staff also handled the subject matter with respect and care and had a lot of fun making the show. I don't think a season 2 is needed, but I do hope that the series can inspire more similar works. I love Ayaka and Hiroko, and I'm so happy they got their happy ending, and by God, I hope they have the best sex ever in their beautiful lesbian future. God bless.
That's it from me, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed this show as much as I did! Hopefully see you soon!

20 Questions for Writers Game
Thank you for tagging me, @yanny-77 and @caeli0306!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 14! Plus a bunch on fanfiction.net from back in the day...*checks* 23. 23 works on FF.net that I will not share with you unless you are my friend, lol.
2. Whatâs your total AO3 word count? 114,162 words
3. What fandoms do you write for? The Empyrean (Fourth Wing) is the only fandom I currently write for, including one crossover with Bridgerton. All of my back-in-the-day fanfiction was for Harry Potter, but I don't write for anything other than the Empyrean anymore.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Just Ask - 1,087 Xaden POV: At Samara - 350 Throne Scene: Xaden POV Microfiction - 170 Dear Brennan - 117 Bridgegiath - 110
5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! At least, I try to. Though when I get an influx of a lot of comments at a time, I get overwhelmed and a little anxious about wanting to respond to them all, and then I get avoidant, heh. So it may not be right away, but I try to respond to as many comments as I can, and often will go back weeks later and then respond to them once I'm less anxious. As any writer will tell you, comments absolutely make my day and I read them over and over again, even going back and reading them days or weeks (or months) later.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably Happy Birthday, Violet, which is a drabble I wrote for the "birthday" prompt from the RQ War Games events in June. It's not necessarily angsty so much as sad. (I was hurting again about Liam at the time, lol.) It's tiny and short, you'll be fine.
7. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I have no idea how to answer this. Almost all of them are happy! I think. Uh. Okay @yanny-77 tells me that the answer is Ridoc Talks To The Dragon, and I believe her.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Nope! Well, never on AO3 or Reddit. I got, like...three negative comments on my biggest HP fic on FF.net years ago, but they were only three comments among over 400, so whatever, lol.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes! I have written M/F and M/F/M. I only want to write sex if there are feelings involved, though, so I don't write any pwp. I don't know that I could, to be honest. The only fic I've written that had smut, outside of Just Ask, is canon-compliant TO Just Ask, and leans on the context built in the main longfic, heh. So...therrrrrre you have it!
10. Do you write crossovers? Yes! But only one. Bridgegiath is a Bridgerton-Empyrean crossover fic where all the characters from Fourth Wing are in a Bridgerton-world, more or less following the plot from Bridgerton Season 1. The most common comment type I've gotten on it is "the crossover I didn't know I needed AND I NEED IT SO MUCH", lol. It's hilarious and delightful and I plan to get back to it once the summer is over and I have more time to write again!
Bridgegiath - a Riorgail, Bodoc, Immrick, Jesiam fic, featuring (among all the others), Lady Durranbury as Lady Danbury. It's a blast.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I will steal @yanny-77's answer and say that I am not cool enough for that. Lmao
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Hell yes. Co-writing has become my love language. I've co-written with @yanny-77 and @sarahydeart and all four times were fucking awesome.
Dear Brennan The Book Cat Garrick's Snorkel Ridoc Talks To The Dragon
14. What is your all-time favorite ship? My favourite ship is Liam/Violet/Xaden, for many reasons, which I will list now lol.
I adore each of the dynamics in this triad: the obvious friends-to-lovers, protect-you-with-my-life, slow burn fall of Violet and Liam; the explosive chemistry between Violet and Xaden; and the love that would grow between Xaden and Liam, born of being fostered together after the trauma of losing their parents, being separated for two years when Xaden went to Basgiath, and then meeting again once Liam gets there--and then they both fall for the same person.
I think Liam balances out a lot of Xaden's dark-and-broody energy, and could bring out a more relaxed version of him. And I think Xaden could bring out a harder edge to Liam that would be incredibly sexy. Liam and Violet's dynamic I obviously adore, and I think the way they take care of each other is fucking delightful and healthy and sweet. I think there's such an easy likelihood that both Xaden and Liam would fall for Violet.
I genuinely don't consider either Liam or Xaden to be bisexual, but I think they could fall for each other in this specific scenario, because of the unique dynamic of trust they have with each other.
All of this to say...Liam/Violet/Xaden is my One True Polypairing, heh, and one day I might write it. But that is a very distant, very pipe-dreamy one day.
Shoutout to Harry/Hermione, though. I'll die on that hill to this day.
15. Whatâs a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Oof. I absolutely intend to continue Bridgegiath once I'm less busy, this summer has been absolutely bananas, and I'm REALLY hoping I'll be able to take it to a satisfying conclusion eventually.
16. What are your writing strengths? I have been told, and I think I agree and hope that it's true, that I'm able to wring quite a wide range of emotions out of my readers. I have it on good authority that I can bring you from thrilling tension to desperately turned on to heart-stopping angst without missing a beat, and have a decent eye for knowing when to insert a funny little exchange to ease tension before diving back in.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I hope I won't lose my fanbase if I honestly say "finishing", heh. Though looking back at my history, I actually did finish both longfics that I wrote for Harry Potter, and I'm on track to finish Just Ask in a timely manner. I'm not too worried about Bridgegiath, because I know I'm much more likely to be invested in it again once I'm done Just Ask. It's just my original stuff that I struggle with I guess...
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I would rely entirely on Google translate if I ever did this, and thus would probably butcher any attempt.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter, waaaaay back in 2007, two days after Deathly Hallows came out. I couldn't accept that Harry and Hermione didn't get together. (And I still can't.)
20. Favorite fic youâve written?
Just Ask. It's probably the best thing I've ever written. I started writing it to deal with my intense book hangover after Iron Flame, I'm still writing it, and it will be finished before the release of Onyx Storm. I am fiercely proud of it.

20 questions for fic writers 2023
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
207
2. Whatâs your total A03 word count?
1.2 million (!!!)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
BBC Sherlock (Sherlock TV, ACD), Doctor Who/Torchwood, Black Sails/Treasure Island, Maurice (film/novel), Raffles/Raffles TV, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, Dexter, The Sandman (comics), Versailles, The Untamed, MST3K
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
The Imposter Art and Nature Boyfriend Material Eight and Fifty Nights Wind and Winter
No surprise three of those are from the same series (my most popular one). I kind of feel like The Imposter is my fandom legacy, which is fine by me; I'm proud of it.
(they're all beauties, in my eyes)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I started out responding to every one. I barely do anymore, only because when I was writing long, chaptered fics, it became overwhelming. Lately I get many fewer, so I do respond to some. I tend to reply to comments on non-Sherlock fics more now, because the fandoms are smaller and I like to gas us up a little!
6. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Am and Was, the final story in my fight!lock series Bleed So Pretty, ends with a double suicide.
7. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably All Said and Done, the happy ending for the 1920s stately home series, Dawn Before the Rest of the World. But a lot of my fics have happy endings, even most of the angsty ones.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have! Very early on someone got very angry that AUs even exist, and took it out on one of my stories (maybe it was the first AU she ever read???); she mostly complained that I was writing Them out of character, which is probably true to some extent, but everyone has their own tolerance levels for that kind of stuff, so, whatever. Someone got very angry that one of my missing-scene fics based on a novel included verbatim text at the beginning and end (context being necessary to the bit I wrote in the middle), even though I made that VERY CLEAR in the beginning notes; she was not satisfied and felt I was a plagiarist, which to me is not a concept that even applies to transformative works, so again, whatever.
I don't mind any comment except ones that boil down to "I don't like this," because there's nothing I can do about that. I can fix spellings and punctuation, sew up plot holes, and make other minor adjustments to the technical stuff. But if someone just comments that they don't like the story, I'm helpless.
9. Do you write smut?
Very much so! I have written entire long novels just as set dressing for smut.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Several! I decided as soon as Sherlock came out on BBC that it takes place in the very same universe (London, present day) as Doctor Who/Torchwood (so, aliens exist). So I crossed those over a bunch. Doctor Who/Torchwood also got crossed over with Dexter, and with The Sandman comics. ACD!Holmes crossed over with Raffles, based on a screenplay of a film featured on MST3K. Black Sails is already Treasure Island pastiche, so that counts though I'm not responsible for it.
(this legendary bitch was only a bitch from a legend in Treasure Island)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I was a victim of netscraping of the AO3 by various pay-to-read schemes, twice. But to my knowledge, no one person has like, copy/pasted my fic and put their name on it as the author.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
A couple in Russian, a couple in Chinese.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Twice. It's not really my jam.
14. Whatâs your all-time favourite ship?
Johnlock.
15. Whats the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
A final story in my Road to Home series, a fix-it fic where Donna gets her memory back (which I began writing in 2013 or 2014). Now that she's got it back in canon, it seems even less likely I'll ever finish it.
(Russell T Davies accepted it maybe a little TOO hard)
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Right now, discipline (mine, not in my BDSM AU characters')
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done it, probably not 100% correctly or well, but I try really hard (not just google translate! I consult native speakers!) to get it right. Generally I recommend keeping it to a minimum unless you learn the trick where AO3 lets you hover a cursor over text and you can put the translation in the pop-up. Too few people are multilingual.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I wrote self-insert Duran Duran bandom fic starting when I was 12, in 1984. My first fic on the AO3 was a Sherlock fic.
(my first husband, John Taylor)
20. Favourite fic youâve ever written?
Don't make me choose! I can't choose a favourite child. Today I was writing on One-Man Advantage, so that's a fave because of recency bias, but I was also thinking about Stages, so that's a fave because when I think of it my heart aches. The Re/Formation of Billy Bones is a fave because I love the backstory I created for him and I think I wrote it well. At Depth is a tiny hidden gem. I love all the Christmas ones and all the snowed-in ones. I love the kinky ones and the fluffy ones and the ones with OCs. I love some I've forgotten about. I love'm all.
Thanks for tagging me, @onesmallfamily !

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks a lot for the tag, @helloliriels
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
25 (23 fics, 2 artworks)
2. What's your total A03 word count?
1,462,682
3. What fandoms do you write for?
BBC Sherlock
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Enigma
The Horse and his Doctor
Rewind
The Summer Boy
Putting up Shelves
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, if only to thank the reader.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
None of my fics have angsty endings.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All my fics have happy endings. For a while, I played with the idea of writing an unhappy ending for Enigma, but luckily decided against it.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really. Thereâs been what I like to call âThe Rabies Outrageâ in connection with my fic The Horse and his Doctor, in which I had John, a veterinarian, have an animal checked for rabies (as one does in this profession, especially if an animal is injured and is behaving oddly). Several (British) readers alerted me to the fact that there is no rabies in the UK and that hence, John wouldnât have done this. I had, however, confirmation from actual British vets that of course one would check for this disease, even in the UK. But those readers made it seem as though I had personally insulted them by implying that rabies might be present in the UK after all.
9. Do you write smut?
Awkward and hopefully realistic sex-scenes, more like.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Kinda.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Iâve had fic uploaded at Wattpad and Goodreads without my permission, albeit on Goodreads, I think it was unintentional. They were uploaded via peopleâs ebook-readers. Still, itâs a pain to have them taken down again, and now with all this AI crap, Iâm really sensitive about this issue, especially because plenty of my art has been stolen and uploaded in places where Iâd never give permission for it to be uploaded. Some of it has also been used on t-shirt and stuff without my permission.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, several.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Back in the days of message boards, I co-wrote Tolkien fics.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Not sure about âall timeâ, but at the moment, itâs BBC Johnlock.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The Passage
16. What are your writing strengths?
My readers can probably judge this better than I can, but Iâd say dialogue and making places come alive.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut, I guess.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Iâve done this a few times: German in Nightjet, Over Hill and Under Hill and Enigma; French and Italian in Slipstream. I enjoy it as a reader, too.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
My first fanfic (of sorts) was an Indiana Jones story (first written in longhand and then typed on an actual typewriter â those were the days ...).
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Difficult to say. I like and dislike bits of all of my fics.

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @suavissimapenna <3 Sorry it took so long!
How many works do you have on ao3?
7 for Sherlock and 23 Good Omens that are completely mine. 6 collaborative fics I have either partly written, or just made art for. So, 36.
What's your total ao3 word count?
380,863
What fandoms do you write for?
Good Omens! I used to write for Sherlock too, but that's now in the past.
Top five fics by kudos:
Truth Or Dare (E, 6.5K words), my first proper smut ever! Post s1 gettig together story.
Angel Of Justice (T, 9.5K), my first ever Good Omens fanfic. Post S1 from Michael POV, A/C as a background couple.
!False (It's funny because it's true) (E, 5.4k), an office romance human AU set in software company.
A Stable Relationship (E, 9.9k), horse rider AU with trans Aziraphale. Friends with benefits becoming a romantic relationship.
Girls Just Wanna Have Sun (G, 1.7k), outsider pov scene about Robin's day at the beach, where she meets two weird gentlemen who have never been to a beach before.
Do you respond to comments?
YES I DO! Slowly, possibly, but yes I do, and I read and reread them!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uhhh... angsty ending? What is that? Technically Be Still My Soul: The Rift, but does that count if it's a middle part of a trilogy? That's definitely my angstiest fic of all time BUT I tried to write the happiest ending possible to it. But also, yeah, people died in the war (just not A or C), so maybe I'll count that story.
Edit: WAIT NO! To Love Somebody, a story from Shadwell pov about how he fell in love both Aziraphale and Crowley, and how that changed him. That's sort of angsty and the ending is bittersweet!
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmmmmm. I have so many. I can't compare. Maybe Watching You (Watching Me), it's the porniest porn i have ever written, and it has...uh... several happy endings :D
Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far!
Do you write smut?
Yessss. I'm in my porn writer era at the moment :D
Craziest crossover:
I did some super weird anime crossovers as a teen (I hope those are long lost) but haven't dabbled on that since apart from very vague blink-and-you-miss-it references.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
One of my Sherlock fics was translated into french in 2018!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Only for one round robin event, which produced four stories! Not sure if that really counts as collaborating since we weren't allowed to talk about it when we did it, we just got the fic, read it, and added 600 words and gave it to the next one! It was super fun though.
All time favorite ship?
Aziraphale and Crowley. No competition there.
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't usually start posting unless I'm 100% confident I'll finish the story, so I don't have public wips.
I had one pretty cool Sherlock post-apocalypse story idea, which I'd love to talk about if someone is interested, but writing it? Hmm probably not. But it's not really a wip, if I have only like two bullets in a doc?
What are your writing strengths?
I think I write pretty good bickerflirting and humour even in dark situations. And, uh... historical research.
What are your writing weaknesses?
LONG ASS SENTENCES. I need to cut them down. Chop chop chop. Also, I over-use commas and em-dashes.
Also, not being a native english speaker, but I think I've got a lot more fluent during the past years, so maybe that's not my biggest weakness anymore.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I have done it myself, in a situation when my pov character wasn't supposed to understand what was being discussed, but I did only a couple of lines.
My languages (apart from english) are finnish, very rough swedish, and teeny tiny bit of german, but many fics I've read that have used another language in dialogue, use French or Spanish (which are popular languages for English speakers to learn in school!), and with those I'm woefully lost!
But honestly, i don't need to understand every fic under the sun! You do you, I bet there are people who can understand whichever languages you'd like to mix in your story, and that will be amazing for them!
First fandom you wrote in?
The Book Series That Must Not Be Named. I projected so much of my teenage angst into wizard school drama.
Favorite fic you've written?
You monster! Making me choose. Uh.
Okay, fair. It's easy. Be Still My Soul, hands down. @be-still-my-soul-fanfic
No pressure tagging: @hkblack, @ambrasue, @tawnyontumblr , @ack-emma and @zehwulf and anyone else who wants to answer!

Twenty Questions for Fanfic Writers
Tagged by the wonderfully kind and incredibly prolific author @baronessblixen. Thank you!
I am the_eternal_optimist on AO3. I know that confuses people!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
23, my favorite number
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
351,187. Wordy girl.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
The X-Files exclusively.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Throwing Good After Bad (my baby, my love)
In These Silent Days
Loving Me Takes Patience (this is a surprise to me)
Next To You
Right on Time (really?!? I love all my stories ofc, but this might be my least favorite haha)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to. I really love engaging with the people who write kind things on my stories.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oof. All of my stories are incredibly angsty, but all of them have sugar-sweet endings. Maybe Distraction, only because it might be my only fic that doesn't end with sex??
7. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them have happy endings. Perhaps Throwing Good After Bad has the happiest ending, just because it's is the angstiest, most violent, most difficult of my stories.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Oh yes. A lot, actually. When I was writing On Marriage about revival MSR, I received death threats for characterizing Mulder as depressed. Someone went to my personal social media accounts and started making fun of my child (a BABY) over this. It's why I got off of Twitter. I very nearly quit the fandom over it and some very kind people rallied to keep me going.
Other than that big one, I get the occasional rude comment. Honestly, they bother me a lot. I go back and forth about continuing to write fanfic because of it. We all write for free and for the love of the characters--why is someone being critical?? (That's where I'm currently at now, and why Edges of the Night is on hiatus. I just cannot with the negativity in my ask box all the time because people are mad the story isn't progressing the way they want it to).
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do. I don't love writing smut and I find it the hardest part of writing. But I LOVE reading it and I love what it adds to a story.
10. Do you write crossovers? Whatâs the craziest one youâve written?
No.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
God I hope not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I'm not sure. I don't think so.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I'd love to work with someone else :)
14. Whatâs your all time favorite ship?
Mulder and Scully
15. Whatâs a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Right now, maybe Edges of the Night? I will probably finish it because I have it fully outlined, but I dread having to deal with my ask box/messages if I keep writing it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm a pretty empathetic person. It's easy for me to get in peoples' heads and figure out their feelings. Writing and resolving angst is probably my biggest strength.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Phew. I find humor really, really hard. I'm not a funny person and I have a hard time making my characters funny. Mulder requires the occasional dose of humor, and that's always super tricky for me. Also smut.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Maybe!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
X-Files. Cold is the Night was my first fic ever, and I was 3 months postpartum then. It was such a nice experience getting out of the baby mindset for a while to write that.
20. Favorite fic youâve written?
My loves, my babies. Probably Throwing Good After Bad, Cold is the Night (because it was my first), and Yours and Mine (This Is Our Time). The latter is a fave because it has two of my original characters in it, Gemma and Emry. I've written an original novel about them. They are my true babies.
I don't know who to tag!! @thursdayinspace if you want!!

20 questions for fic writers tag game
thanks for the tags bbs đ @mermaidgirl30 @whatsnewalycat @sp00kymulderr
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
23 - I cross post to ao3 just before I post anything on Tumblr, so almost everything goes there first. The only thing that isn't there is y2k and two dress up!Joel lore posts that are in fic form.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
117,356
3. What fandoms do you write for?
almost entirely Pedro - a little bit of general TLOU if we consider honey, you're familiar (tess x reader)
4. Top five fics by kudos
something wretched about this
sleepless
first steps
baubles
just a taste
on Tumblr sleepless is my top fic before the first chapter of something wretched about this - I don't keep track of it after those two!
5. do you respond to comments?
I do! I'm a bit behind right now because May/June have been kicking my ass in every way possible, but usually they get answered within a day or two.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't write much angst! Feelings⢠in general is not my thing.
the howler monkey is maybe my angstiest fic, but it ends quite fluffy. same as some good friend.
none of them really end too angsty! I'm all about leaving things vaguely good at the end.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
the most typical happily ever after mush? jack of all trades and freeze-thaw. freeze-thaw's ending is quite cute now that I look back at it.
chaste also has a happy ending, just a very different one to a romantic feelings-y happy ending đŚ but you'll never see someone more thrilled than Dieter in that fic.
all of my fics do tbh, just not big I love you/happy families/grand gesture kind of happy endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've never even had a slightly mean comment tbh
9. Do you write smut?
predominantly! everything except for y2k (not on ao3!) and my Dieter's PA loose series is smut. Dieter's PA is super fun to write because it often toes the line between almost smut and not smut at all. there's a lot of nudity and references to past sexual events, and it's the perfect place to explore silliness with Dieter.
10. Craziest crossover?
it's gotta be my carnal-val series. it's a circus AU with P-Boys each playing a part - so far we have Dieter as a clown and Whiskey as a ringmaster. I have 4 WIPs currently on the go for it, so hopefully more will be soon.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
thank goodness no. not that I know it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no! I probably never will - I like to just finish and be done, and collaborating with a fic feels far more involved than my usual "fuck it, that'll do" process! I literally don't even get shit beta read.
14. All time favorite ship?
I genuinely do not have one đ I'm very easy to please and generally if you feed it to me I'll have a good time, so no favourite ship has ever really stuck. I generally don't care for romantic ships the same way most do.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I started a Marcus Pike fic over Christmas - I doubt that'll get finished. My OG plan for kinktober still needs to be officially scrapped (I wrote something wretched about this instead)
I also have a Dieter's PA WIP involving a coffee machine that đ I'm not sure anyone needs or wants to see.
not all WIPs deserve to see the light of day, and most of the fun is in the process of fucking around with characters for a little bit tbh
16. What are your writing strengths?
anything silly and slightly bizarre while somehow not being too out there. I think I'm decent at dialogue but honestly đ¤ˇââď¸ some days I'm shit
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
so many! I'm the vaguest amount of descriptive possible, with absolutely everything. not just because I write reader insert either đ
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
love reading it - will probably never include it in my own fics. I don't know another language well enough to do it alone and I don't want to bother anyone to ask for help. add that to my "fuck it, that'll do" thing and it's just not a recipe for doing another language justice đ
19. First fandom you wrote in?
h*rry p. I wrote two oneshots as a teen. one involved people getting turned into chickens and pecking someone to death and in the other someone's little toe got stolen and eventually kept in a jar. so if you're wondering if I've always been like this, the answer is yes.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
I still really love best in show and some good friend. both were a little different to my usual way of doing things and I loved the result of both. I also really love the howler monkey - it opened up a lot more depth that I have planned for Dieter's PA, and I'm really excited about it
I have no clue who has and hasn't done this, but consider yourself tagged if you'd like to do it but also @strang3lov3 @beefrobeefcal @bitchesuntitled @corazondebeskar-reads toobif you're ao3 girlies.

fic writer interview!!! tagged by @brawngp2009 ty <33
How many works do you have on ao3?
23!! except I have two other accounts with fics on them so technically in total 63!! which is a lot but thatâs across four years so not as much.
Whatâs your total word count?
125k this year and last year! and Iâm trying to reach 100k just written/posted this year by the end of 2024 (we are very close â only about 7k off :D )
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Lone Star (214!!!!!!!), Santa Monica (183!!), Teddy Picker (171!), Jump Scare (164!) and Donât Stop Me Now (149!) which is so completely insane <333
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! eventually though sometimes I forget (there are so many comments I need to respond to rn and I am thinking about it but never actually getting around to doing it). I love comments and I love responding to comments because one of my favourite things is seeing peopleâs reactions to my writing it makes my entire week
Whatâs the fic youâve written with the angstiest ending?
I think itâd probably be glass shards! it's not necessarily an angsty ending but itâs kinda open to interpretation, hopeful but not really happy? it's the end of the world as we know it is also pretty angsty in general but it doesnât have an angsty ending (imo).
Whatâs the fic youâve written with the happiest ending?
Daylight and colours and faith all have pretty happy endings! Daylight is probably the happiest (except the one I havenât posted yet but shhhh). I donât like leaving things with unhappy endings completely there always has to be some sort of hope of things getting better. it just takes some time to get there most of the time.
Do you write crossovers?
I havenât written a crossover and I donât really intend to? it is a lot of world building imo and I am so strongly against world building all of the time that itâs not smth I would ever do lol
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
it wasnât really hate? but it was a bookmark that was just a number rating my fic out of ten which just felt unnecessary and a bit rude, especially considering that there was no other comment aside from this number. it wasnât hate and it wasnât a bad rating (8/10 is decent ig) but it wasnât smth I would want as a fic writer
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
yes. idk what kind? the general kind? the kind that makes me stare out of the window and contemplate my life choices for a good 8 minutes before turning back to my laptop screen to continue. nothing really kinky (yet but I am Thinking) but potentially more adventurous than most would participate in. that sounds pretentious :P
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
yes but it was actually a twt thread that I did when I was still in the mcyt fandom and some big acc decided to âtake inspirationâ which was actually just copying the whole thread with no credit :)
Have you ever had a fic translated?
no but thatâd be very cool. I did once have a fic turned into a podfic which was very cool !!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not technically? but none of my fics are really written with the input of someone I dmed part of the fic to lol. so no official co-writing but I would credit Em @rosclerc with aiding my ideas (and making colours more angsty I promise it wasnât all me)
Whatâs your all-time favourite ship?
sebchal.
Whatâs a WIP that you want to finish but donât think you ever will?
the sorcery au that I have a tag for but no published fic. there's about 5k in my WIP folder rn and I donât think itâll ever see the light of day. probably bc creating that universe involves world building and I hate world building. there's others too (I have a whole section of my WIP folder entitled âabandonedâ) but the main reason I donât post much/any drafts on here is bc I donât want the pressure to finish it once Iâve shared it ? there are a lot of WIPs I want to finish but I doubt theyâll ever be completed.
What are your writing strengths?
dialogue is definitely my strength and it always has been. it's a very effective way to move things along in a situation and Iâve gotten very good at it over the years. which has been beneficial becauseâŚ
What are your writing weaknesses?
WORLD BUILDING. MY BELOATHED MY BEHATED MY UNBELOVED. I hate world building so much and I think itâs partially bc Iâm very very impatient when it comes to writing and dialogue moves things along a lot quicker. and also itâs a lot of effort :P
What are your thoughts on dialogue in other languages in a fic?
if you need it for wtv reason then make sure itâs accurate? Iâve read fics that use lines in my native language (french) that have been incorrect or have used the wrong word that means smth else (excitĂŠ does not mean excited I am sorry to inform you). I use a lot of pet names in other languages but Iâm not really someone who uses full dialogue in other languages. it can definitely work but it needs to be done accurately (and with translation please)
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
The maze runner. in 2017? I think? I wrote a fic out by hand (in first person lol) and posted it on wattpad. afaik itâs still there unless it got taken down during their purge
Whatâs a fandom/ship you havenât written for yet but want to?
so many ships!! choscar except I have sorta written for them. brocedes but the same. honestly I want to write a lot of ships that arenât really ships theyâre more mashing two guys together that may or may not have ever interacted (charles/michael for ex. lol)
Whatâs your favourite fic youâve written?
I have probably said this too many times now but colours!!! I love colours so much it is the best thing Iâve ever written and I think the concept is really interesting. I also wrote it in like two weeks (maybe three?) so I think it was quite impressive? but also bubblegum bitch is underappreciated imo and is definitely a fic that Iâm proud of and is top 3 in my favourite fics lol
this is very long apologies lol
no pressure <3 tagging @hungriestheidi @f1ggotry @foggieststars and @horns-the-demon
#how many links to my fics before it turns into self-promo lol#tag game#sacha speaks#ty this was very fun and I got to complain about world building which always makes things enjoyable :DD

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you @malicmalicwriter and @reelnaturalfreak for tagging me in this. It was lots of fun to read both of your lists. Here is mine :)
How many works do you have on A03? 23 (over two accounts)
What's your total word count? 328,892
What fandoms do you write for? Supernatural, used to write Twilight
Top 5 fics by kudos: Runaway Bride (601 kudos on AO3 & 482 favorites on FF.net), The $3 Coat (524), Novelty Socks & Flying Death Machines (373), Castielâs Hidden Pussycat (239), Three Little Words (226)
Do you respond to comments? Yes. I try to, but sometime I forget and then I get too nervous about responding to old comments. Lol
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Darkside - my only fic with an unhappy ending. It was a one-shot, but in my head, (if I kept writing it) it would all be resolved & end happy.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? They all (except for the one above) end happy. Probably my Twilight fic had the fluffiest ending.
Do you get hate on fics? Not usually, but I have gained a âhaterâ who has commented on multiple fics of mine. She does not like it when I am mean to Dean or show him in an unfavorable light (even if he learns from those mistakes).
Do you write smut? Yep
Craziest crossover? Never written a cross over
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Nope, not that Iâm aware of, anyway.
Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but wouldnât that be nice :)
Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, I have not, but would love to one day.
All-time favorite ship? Destiel 100%
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I get super anxious about leaving works unfinished, so no. But I have a 20K fic that a lot of people have asked for me to continue ($3 Coat). I said I would, but havenât got too far. That is about as much pressure as I can handle.
What are your writing strengths? I do like unexpected twists, but Iâm not sure if Iâm good at them.
What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue & humor
Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I love reading it, prefer if there is a translation close by, but have never written it
First fandom you ever wrote in? Twilight
Favorite fic you've written? Probably my latest fic, Novelty Socks. It was fun to write and plan out I would like to tag @gooasis726twifics & @mslilylashes because I'd love to see your lists (no pressure, though) đ

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @jesuiscenseedormir đ
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
256 đŹ but most of those are collabs with my beloved Veronae đ works written on my own I think total 23?
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
oh damn how do I find that ah. okay. um. 560,589
3. What fandoms do you write for?
nowadays it's pretty much just 9-1-1
4. Top 5 fics by kudos
you are really teaching me how to use the stats page on ao3 lol
The Parent to Contact - Buck gets a call from Christopher's school and learns that he's listed on the boy's forms as 'the parent to contact on Tuesdays'.
that drunk buck chat - Buck gets drunk and texts Eddie something he wasn't meant to read. Text fic!
that first kiss chat - Eddie texts Buck with some news, and it goes on from there. All texting!
Buddie, You're Hot - Buck is helping Eddie get ready for a date when he ends up outing himself as bi â something he thought Eddie already knew. Wasn't it obvious?
that drunk eddie chat - Wherein Eddie is a drunk mess and Buck needs to protec
5. Do you respond to comments?
on my own/solo fics, yes absolutely every time. but comments on the buddie text fics I usually leave for Veronae to reply to, unless it's specifically addressed to me or I just feel like replying
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
knee deep in sinking sand Buck has a nightmare about losing Eddie.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
most of what I write has a happy ending đ
um I'm gonna go with You Should've Just Kissed Me Set after the Poker Date Night, Buck overhears Eddie talking about being set up on a date and wonders aloud why Eddie doesn't just explain that he's already in a relationship - with Buck.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
thankfully not much, but there was one person who left hate on the buddie text fics :(( I do my best to ignore it though đ
9. Do you write smut?
nah I'm not really comfortable with it. sometimes a fic will get a bit steamy but I usually try to fade to black when I can.
10. Craziest crossover?
does lone star count? cause we've done text fics with TK and Carlos:
that matchmaker crossover chat Buck talks to TK. Carlos talks to Eddie. They're in love, but they won't tell each other. TK enlists Carlos' help to try and change that. Text fic!! that anniversary day chat When Eddie cancels plans with Buck to go on a date, they end up in a fight without fully understanding how it happened. Eddie reaches out to Christopher, while Buck reaches out to his good ol' buddy TK for support ... but they can only go so long before facing each other. that bothered and bewildered chat After being kissed by Tommy, Buck reaches out to an old acquaintance for help sorting out his feelings.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that I know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have! a while back, in a different fandom and under a different name.
13. Have you co-written a fic before?
as you've probably figured out, yes I have. I collab with my bestie Veronae for all out buddie text fics, and we've also written an actual prose fic together as well:
A Jealous Kiss âYouâre going out with your mechanic?â Buck asked. Then his face fell into deliberate blankness. âYou mean, youâre dating your mechanic?âEddie was going on a date with someone else. And Buck would be left behind.Again.
14. All time favorite ship?
BUDDIE
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will
ohhhh good question. hm probably my buddie wip where Chimney dares Buck not to use Eddie's name for a week and so Buck starts using pet names for him. it's cute and I like the idea but I don't think I'm ever gonna have enough motivation to write the whole thing.
16. What are your writing strengths?
hm. I think I'm pretty good at writing fluff? and having a good balance of prose and dialogue.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
too many ideas, not enough motivation. I've got easily like 50 wips or something uggghhhhhh
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language
ummm sure? why not? I once wrote a fic for a previous fandom where one character spoke french the whole way through, and I got a french friend to check it over for me so it could be accurate, plus I then added translations at the end for people.
19. First fandom you wrote for
stargate
20. Favorite fic you've written
Friends Don't â¨đ
Eddie and Buck have always been closer than most best friends and it's never bothered them, but lately they've been starting to wonder if there might be more than just friendship between them.
After all, it's becoming clear that there are a lot of things they do that 'just friends' don't.
-
Pressing his face into his pillow, Buck giggled before mumbling, "Whoops."
"Whoops?" Eddie repeated. "We've been on the phone for almost four hours and all you have to say is 'whoops'?"
"It's been a great four hours," Buck said, the words tumbling out before he had time to consider whether he should be admitting them or not.
"Yeah," Eddie confirmed softly, making Buck's heart squeeze affectionately in his chest. "It has."

hehehe he technically called sukuna pretty ,, i agree
LMAOOOOO AINT NO WAYY OFC HE SABOTAGED HIMÂ
i feel like toji would actually do well in getting sales (if he had the proper cookies) considering heâs âa pro at freeloading off womenâ which leads me to believe heâs got hella charisma .Â
âFushiguro stops just before the table, one hand balled into a fist so tight, the muscles of his arm are easy to see, flexing dangerously beneath his skin.â uwwheheheerhfbud sorry
OH SHT THE GIRLIES ARE FIGHTING YOOOOOOOO AND SUKUNA JUMPING IN FOR GOJO ???? in front of the kids in a school fundraiser is crazy lmao
pinky
gojo taking bets on whoâs gonna win reminded me of mei mei betting on the gojo-sukuna fight
i had a crazy amount of secondhand embarrassment going thru that hhhhhh yknow that feeling when you just wanna curl up and cover ur eyes and youâre fighting to even look back ? yeaaaaa
âHurting people is bad. And youâre not bad!â ohh yuuji ughhh he has no idea of what sukuna was before, that heâs done more than hurt people .. children really only see the side of their parents that theyâve allowed to show them. itâs why kids usually think the highest of them, so yuuji saying that sukunaâs not bad gets me cus heâs known and seen only the best of him. but it makes me feel gooey inside cus, while everyone else sees the former king of curses, yuuji sees his dad and when he does eventually find out, heâll still always be his dad before anything else (does this make sense i hope it makes sense im trying to make my thoughts coherent)
oh hey theyâre talking abt it !
I GASPED OH MY GOD PLEAS EOLASOE APLEAS EPLAS EPALEAPSLEAPSH NOOOOOOOOO FFGGHGBBVV HITTING MY BED GRFGHJVNGRRAAGGHHFEG

mother is mothering and mother is leading the herd (no but i love how he adapted to the role very easily, likely to prior experience)
whuh the fundraiser was last year ? am i overthinking the timeframe ⌠ok im back after going thru the calendar that makes sense đ carry on wait hold on first semester of first grade ended so theyâre on break ... summer break ?? unless this is going off of a different schooling system (oh yeah duh japan lol)
ohhh please let them meet mama-guro i can imagine the absolute shock on their faces trying to comprehend how someone like toji managed to marry someone like her đ bonus points if toji is much more softer around her too and the sheer whiplash of seeing him having ANY sort of loving side is enough to send gosuku into a spiral
âItâs exactly the type of thing Sukuna would never be caught dead wearing, which means Satoru must do all in his near-infinite power to make him wear it.â real
THESE THREE ARE RIDICULOUS LMAOOOOOO sorry kids your fathers are busy trying to one-up each other
âBut, then again, these are just go-karts; how much damage could he really do?â famous last words before disaster
oh no
hey sukunaâs living life at least heâs having fun and thatâs all that matters đĽ°

Twenty Questions: Fic Author Edition
tagged by @professionalfangrrl and @no-where-new-hero Thank you!
1-How many works do you have on ao3?
23. Since tumblr is such a mess I try to even post my drabbles there.
2-What's your total AO3 word count?
303,924 (literally how is it that many??)
3-What fandoms do you write for?
The Hunger Games, The Office, and The Blue Castle. Back on ff.net I also had one fic for Twilight and one for Persuasion, though these are no longer posted and I don't have plans to re-post them.
4-What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Katniss Wants Kisses
I Do
Sing You Back Home
The Only One
Better Man
5-Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
99% of the time, yes, at least on ao3. I don't always if someone replies to my reply, lol. It's a delight to respond to readers! Especially those that take time to comment.
6-What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
The angstiest ending I've written is I Do, probably. It's an AU taking place in a similar situation to Mockingjay so I'd say it's fairly equivalent in terms of death and trauma.
7-What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The True Name, I'd say. As a Blue Castle fanfic, The True Name sticks with the canon super fairy tale ending.
8-Do you get hate on fics?
I did get one call-out comment on ao3 for a post I'd made here on tumblr, but other than that I don't remember any negative comments on ao3. I for sure got hate on ff.net all those years ago. It was rare in comparison to the positive comments, but I got PMs for I Do that I would consider hate, and some more critical comments on that one. I did get a straight-up anon hate comment directed toward me, the author, not the work, on Roses and Pearls the first time I posted it on ff.net, but the person ended up PMing me and apologizing which was big of them.
9-Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I have written explicit smut that I haven't published and "M" rated smut that is mild and I have published. And some fade-to-black. I'm trying to get more comfortable in this area though I don't think I'll ever be an author someone goes to for smut.
10-Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I am currently working on a Hungers Game/Hadestown crossover and I am breaking my creative brain to work it.
11-Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. I haven't looked for it and no one has alerted me to any. I know some of my deleted work exists in personal libraries, but I don't care as long as those aren't shared publicly.
12-Have you ever had a fic translated?
I Do was translated into Chinese and Russian as far as I remember. I think some of the old Roses and Pearls was translated into Chinese also. My old deleted fic Sing For Me might have been translated as well? Not aware of/remember any others!
13-Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nothing that's been published.
14-What's your all-time favorite ship?
Everlark. They are my true, ultimate OTP.
15-What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Ah a call-out! Probably Both Sides Now. I'd like for it to be finished, but you know, there are some things that just like that.
16-What are your writing strengths?
You want me to compliment myself?! Well, I like writing dialogue and a comment I often get is that I write in-character for my fics, which is something I strive to do.
17-What are your writing weaknesses?
My prose. I have to think real hard about that stuff. I feel my prose is very cliche and pedestrian, and anything that isn't comes from my blood, sweat, and tears to make it decent. The atmosphere of my writing especially suffers for this.
18-Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I wrote some descriptions of ASL for Both Sides Now as I made Lavinia deaf in that fic. I took four semesters of ASL in college so I felt comfortable with that, but other than maybe some Spanish I otherwise would only feel comfortable using someone's help with the translation.
19-First fandom you wrote for?
Wrote for would be The Hunger Games. I would "write" fanfiction in my head since I was a little kid and Sabrina and Harvey broke up on Sabrina the Teenage Witch but first actual writing was The Hunger Games. Waiting for Mockingjay to be released was a bitch and got me started.
20-Favorite fic you've ever written?
Following my heart, I have to go with Sing You Back Home. I put a lot into it, including my own tears. As an Everlark shipper its premise is very important to me--Prim lives and so Katniss and Gale don't have a falling out and it's confirmed again and again that no matter what, Everlark would have happened anyway.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @bangpop91 @nine-one-wanton @cliophilyra
I have a secondary AO3 account with the fics I wrote under specific pseuds for specific fandoms I'm presently inactive in - This will only be addressing my active account for current fandoms
How many works do you have on AO3?
23
Whatâs your total AO3 word count?
80,105
What fandoms do you write for?
9-1-1
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Hey Brother, Hey Sister - A 7x06 coda/missing scene where Tommy drops in on Chimney for a quick visit
The Sandwich Tax - Evan meets Tommy's best friend for the first time and she steals the sandwich he made for his boyfriend
Could It Be You? - Different First Meeting Fic where Evan meets Tommy in his Coma Dream first.
Do you respond to comments? Why? Why not?
Sometimes, I do, when someone has something I feel I can respond to. I feel weird leaving repetitive comments.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I keep meaning to write more angst but there's nothing I've shared that has any angst right now. I'm working on some stuff though.
Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
They're all pretty happy. I'm partial to Time Waits For No One - it's a cute little thing I wrote.
Do you get hate on fics?
Nope and if I did, I would just delete it.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I wrote some comfort sex into You Make Everything Alright but I don't typically share smut coz I haven't liked my recent attempts
Do you write crossovers? Whatâs the craziest one youâve written?
Not posted but I have one planned, it's still in the brainstorming stages.
9-1-1 x Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope but I am considering doing French translations of my own fics
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
In a past fandom, yes. In this current fandom, also yes.
@judymarch15 and I worked on some stuff over the summer that I still need to edit.
@bangpop91 and I are also trying to sort out a shared AU.
Whatâs your all time favourite ship?
My all time favourite ship is Carter Grayson/Dana Mitchell from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Love a Red/Pink couple.
Whatâs a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a couple of old Glee fics I want to go back to but I doubt I will. Anything Critical Role related, I probably won't go back to either.
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. Keeping track of timelines.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing fics. LOL
All jokes aside, I think my writing gets a little weak outside of dialogue and my pacing could use work.
I also struggle to write things that are stictly canon. I prefer to write with my emotional support original character.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't typically do it but I will google a translation if I need to for the fics I read
First fandom you wrote for?
Power Rangers
Favourite fics youâve written?
You Make Everything Alright - Major Character Death, Evan Buckley & Olivia Chambers friendship
Running Just To Catch Herself
Chosen Family

20 Questions For Writers
Iâm taking @galaxythreadsâ post as unofficial tagging because I want to do this lol
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
23!
2. Whatâs your total AO3 word count?
102,192
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Thor (unfortunately the hyperfixation has taken root)
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. midas is king (and he holds me so tight)
2. a shrike to your sharp
3. be as youâve always been
4. I am loved (I am loved)
5. our truth is burned from history (this is actually my favorite of all five, Iâm glad itâs on here haha)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I used to, I havenât really been recently since Iâve been busy (and lazy) but I wanna start doing it again.
6. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This since the situation that Thor and Loki in does not get resolved lol,,,,,maybe I should write a sequel.
7. Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I actually thought most of mine ended happyish but Iâm realizing the really happy ending is probably this one???
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Not really? Iâve been getting some weird anonymous comments that arenât hate??? Theyâre just odd. And I feel like they come from the same person too. Iâm not bothered by it, Iâm just,,,,,,confused????
9. Do you write smut?
Yes! I only have one smut fic so far but I want to write more!
10. Do you write crossovers?
No, Iâm just not really interested in them.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, and hopefully that never happens
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet! Blanket permission if anyone ever wants to, please just let me know!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes and I love doing it! Itâs so much fun, plus you have another person to complain to when the fic isnât going the way you want!
14. Whatâs your all-time favourite ship?
Thor and Loki, but both platonically and romantically if that makes sense? I am a brodinsons fan before I am a thorki fan.
15. Whatâs the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have too many, writing is hard :â(
16. Whatâs your writing strengths?
I like to think I have a good head for plotting and coming up with ideas
17. Whatâs your writing weaknesses?
Actually writing down what I have planned. People should look thru my idea list and write some of the fics Iâve thought of lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Think it can be good in small quantities if youâre simply using google translate but if youâre trying to write a lot in that language, you should probably either already know it or ask for help from someone who does. As a reader tho, itâs not entirely helpful unless thereâs a translation also given â I think it takes you out of the fic if you have to look it up
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Doctor who
20. Favourite fic youâve ever written?
Hmm I feel like my fav fic shifts from week to week. Right now itâs mother make me a big gray cloud because itâs the longest Iâve written and itâs also finished!! So super excited about it!
Tagging @babygirlthor, @worstloki, @thorarms, @nostalgia-tblr, @shinysoroka, @thortwenty151, @colifower, and anyone else who sees this and wants to do it!

I'm 100% stealing this from @pagegirlintraining
AO3 wrapped (writerâs edition)
I had a long year, so I didn't get to write as much as I would have liked to, but we still got a ton done.
1. How many words have you written this year? 180,453 words.
2. How many works did you publish this year? Somehow the answer is eleven.
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? Reckless Abandon. Hands down. It took so much time to plan and so much energy to write and I am so proud of it. I'm writing the ending of the first draft right now and I'm sad to leave it behind.
HOWEVER I also very much enjoyed The Last Time, which is my Nilcent fic. I think just in terms of quality, this is one of my most beautifully written fics.
4. What work of yours has the most hits? The fics I have with the most hits is Reckless Abandon, but I think that's because it's the only one from this year that had more than one chapter.
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? Dress Up As ! I wrote that in like 30 minutes while half asleep and then didn't edit it, so I didn't think anyone would read it at all lol. It's not my most popular fic by any means, but more people read it than I thought would.
6. Favorite title you used? Wilhelm's Frog Addiction because it's so ridiculous. It implies that Wilhelm needs a rehab for frogs, and I think that's great.
7. If you use song lyrics, which artistâs songs did you pull from the most? I used the title of The Last Time from a Taylor Swift song, but I think that was the only one.
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year? Wilhelm/Simon Eriksson with 9 out of 11 fics being about them or containing them in some way. (damn thats an unfortunate statistic)
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? Obviously Wilmon. I feel like that's a given at this point.
10. What work was the quickest to write? Dress Up As... again, I wrote it in 30 minutes while half asleepđ
11. What work took you the longest to write? If we rule out the one that's multi-chapter for fairness sake, then the fic that took me the longest to write was probably Not Entirely Screwed (But Almost). But take that with a grain of salt.
12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? Two or three that I actually plan on finishing. I have others that are started, but I don't know if I have enough plot to actually get through them.
13. Whatâs your longest work of the year? Reckless Abandon, containing 123k of my 180k words this year đ
14. Whatâs your shortest work of the year? A Fool Proof Guide - 507 words.
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you? Finishing Reckless Abandon! One chapter to edit and an epilogue to finish writing, and then it's done. I just can't finish it in the two days I have left of the year đ
16. Whatâs your most common âAdditional Tagsâ tag? Simon Eriksson Loves Wilhelm, followed by Wilhelm Loves Simon Eriksson
17. Your favorite character to write this year? I simply cannot answer this. My mind has been so consumed with Reckless Abandon and the switching POVs that I literally cannot choose one.
18. Whatâs one pairing you want to explore next year? I think I might like to write more of Felice's platonic pairings next year. I feel like I neglect her because I don't really ship her with anyone.
19. Which work of yours have you reread the most? The Thing In The Mirror. It's kind of a love letter to my grief, so sometimes I go back and read it when I'm feeling down.
20. How many kudos in total did you get this year? 2,754
21. Which work has the most comments? Reckless Abandon, but again, it's the only one with more than one chapter so that makes sense.
22. Did you do any collaborative works this year? Not this year! Maybe next year. Dani and I don't write "together" per se, but we do bounce a lot of ideas off each other, so if that counts then yes, but nothing plotted and written and posted together.
23. Did you write any gifts this year? I did! I wrote for YR Week, which wasn't a gift, but an event. And I wrote a Christmas gift for Nic!
24. Did you receive any gifts this year? Yes yes yes! A beautiful, perfect Christmas gift from @pagegirlintraining I enjoyed every word of it.
25. Whatâs your most common category? M/M
26. What do you listen to while writing? Not much, actually. I have the Reckless Abandon Playlist, but I only really used that when outlining.
27. Favorite work you wrote this year? For the sake of not repeating myself, out off the ones I haven't mentioned yet, Isn't That Your Thing? and Patience Is A Virtue are my favorite little crack fics.
28. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? Oh jesus, that's impossible. I don't think I can choose just one. I can give you one that makes me think "holy shit I can write" though:
This piece of work â the one staring Stella in the face â was a revolution made of oil paint.Â
29. Biggest surprise while writing this year? I can write smut. And people don't hate it somehow.
Thank y'all for a fun year. Can't wait to see what my brain does to torture us all in the next one.
